You're going to either love here or hate it here.
Brunelleschi's is a small, cozy pizza parlor in the middle of Aspen. They specialize in FANCY pizza (though I suppose you could get a plain cheese pie or pepperoni) and the price reflects that. You won't find cheap pies here.
Our waiter was super attentive and friendly - we seemed to hit Bruno's in a lull, so we got all the attention. We passed on the apps - but we each got our own pizza, since the pizzas are more of a personal pizza than something that is shared.
My husband got the Especial pizza (sausage, mushrooms, gorgonzola, carmelized onions, mozz and parm) and I got the Colby's special (mozz, prosciutto, parm, arugula and truffle oil). After maybe 10-15 minutes our 'za's were ready.
First thing I noticed was the super SUPER thin crispy crust. It was thinner than a Ritz cracker. I like thin crust pizza, but some people prefer chewier pies. To each his own. I got around half-a-pig's worth of prosciutto on my pizza, along with a nice layer of cheese and arugula. It was salty, cheesy and delicious. My husband loved his 'za (it was awesome as well). Despite the thin crusts, we both left totally stuffed and ready for our flights home.
If you like thin crust pizza (and don't mind paying $18-$21 for a personal pizza) I would suggest you come here. It's good stuff. -

Fabulous meal. Emily, the owner, has one fine restaurant in Aspen. A refreshing change from the stuffiness of the other Italian places in town. Britton, our waitress, was fantastic. Thanks again for a great meal.

Bruno's [as the local's call it] is delectable, but impressively over-priced. The owner is absolutely wonderful, and likes to make sure all of her diners are happy. The staff is also very friendly and helpful, but does not push you or press you for time by any means. The atmosphere is far from relaxing, it is very lively and noisy, but if that's the kind of meal you're looking for, go for it. It can get very crowded very quickly with the awkward seating arrangement.
It is in a nice location for kids to run around the outside of the restaurant between bites and still be able to keep an eye on them. However, you better hope the kids eat the entire 6" build-your-own pizza at $14 a pop.
Like I've said, tasty, but pricey. It's all up to your discretion, but I would not come back unless someone else was paying for my meal. -

We stopped in for lunch while exploring Aspen. We chose this place because they offered gluten free pizza and pasta, which made my wife so happy (given she's a Celiac and can't have gluten). The food here was exellent, and the service was attentive. My kids had the cheese pizza, which was a very thin crust 9" pizza, and they were happy. My wife had the pizza special, which was prosciutto with truffle oil & a few other toppings. It was made with GF crust which was tasty, and the pizza was good. I had the ahi tuna pannine with wasabi mayo.
We'd definitely go back, and found it to be quite good. -

Family ate here twice. Great for some post-slope comfort food. They have very yummy, thin crust pizzas, pasta dishes, salads with ahi tuna and meat entrees. Something for everyone!
Great value and a delicious dinner. -

When Oscar Sunday rolls around, a hearty, resonating meal fit for a deep couch is needed.
After a long day on the mountain, when the legs are sore and the lips are chapped, sweats and a plateful of warm food is priority number one.
A to go order of 4 pizzas:
Barbecue Chicken ( Chicken, diced red onions, cilanto & bbq sauce)
Snowmass ( Canadian Ham, pineapple, & poquito garlic )
Highlands ( Sausage, mushrooms with grated mozarella )
GTV III ( Gorgonzola, roasted peppers, carmelized onions & sausage)
Topped with an exorbitant order of caesar salad, ( an order per person was simply too much. 3 orders for 5 people was plenty ) the meal was comfort on a plate.
The caesar dressing was light and dressed the salad perfectly. Fresh cuts of greens and a crunchy add on of croutons, encompassed the salad wonderfully.
Each pizza, with a warmly baked thin crust was impacted with notable toppings that were fresh, abundant and flavorful. The thin crust was baked with a resounding touch of crunch and blended with each ceiling of flavor accordingly.
Service up front was quick, friendly and they made sure our bags were packed with every addition available.
Oscar Sunday was complete, and when on a return trip to Aspen, and in need of a fulfilling meal, Brunelleschi's will be my go to.Listed in: When in Aspen

it's our first night in Aspen after an 8-hour long drive from Park City, UT. My boyfriend and I were starving and a little delirious. We tried getting food at 2 or 3 other restaurants with no luck before we stumbled upon this place. It was 9:45pm on a Monday and they close at 10pm. They were willing to serve us - done deal!
I ordered a bowl of their soup of the day - corn and crab chowder. My boyfriend ordered the Especial pizza. Both items were quick to be served and very tasty. I especially appreciated how quick the pizza came out, with its super thin crust and delicious toppings of sausage, mushroom, gorgonzola and caramelized onions.
Our waitress was very understanding of our need to have our water refilled and she brought us a carafe. The meal came out to about $30 with tip. Would definitely come back here to eat. -

Brunelleschi's pasta dishes = Olive Garden quality at 2.5 times the price.
60 bucks for spaghetti marinara, fettucini and shrimp, one salad, and no drinks.
If that is the price you are going to charge make some food that doesn't taste exactly like one of the most generic Italian food chains out there.
I have eaten the pizza here before and that is pretty good. That is why it is 3, not 2, stars.
Food: 2.5/5
Service: 4/5
Ambiance: 3.5/5

Great pizzas, fast service, and a nice atmosphere. $19 is a bit much for a personal pizza, but this is Aspen after all. We enjoyed the variety of pizzas they offered and the fact that they offer gluten free pizza and pasta.

Are you kidding me? This place is awesome. I've been eating here since they opened their doors over five years ago. The food is fresh, the Paisano Pizza is truly outstanding (which just so happens to be Billy Gibbons all-time favorite pizza) , and the service is great. My kids also absolutely love making their own pizzas. If you're in Aspen, this place is not to be missed. Oh, and don't forget to try the Mac 'n Cheese!

Dirty is right. The boyfriend was up all night with food poisoning after eating here (he had the spaghetti and meatballs). I didn't feel all that hot either due to what was probably the overuse of MSG in the roasted veggie panini I ordered. We stopped in here after getting bad service and no service at two other places (J-Bar and Double Dog).
We were seated right away and the waiter came over right away. We were also attended to by 2 other servers, which was odd. Also I think the combined IQ of the entire waitstaff is probably about 150. But you don't really need huge brain power in a restaurant server, I guess.
While we were eating the stuff it was darned good. I had been wanting a roasted veggie panini all weekend so was pretty happy to see it on the menu. I had a bite of the spaghetti and meatballs (not enough to sicken me, apparently) and it was also pretty tasty. We finished with tiramisu and cheesecake. The tiramisu was really good. The cheesecake was just ok. I'm not really a fan of cheesecake tho, so don't take my word for it.
I'm giving this 3 stars because aside from the food poisoning (which has never kept me from returing to a place before) it was pretty good. I probably wouldn't go again because of the MSG but if you're not bothered by MSG you will probably like the place. Also, it had a full bar which also gets points from me. -

I arrived before the dinner rush expecting good service and food. Chicken Piccata was delivered soggy (there is NO excuse for that!!) and Tiramisu was flavorless, oversweet and badly needed a molecule of rum or liqueur. Waiter wasn't Mr. Warmth but did an okay job in terms of timeliness and attentiveness. Prices are high ($21 for the chicken, an astounding $12 for the Tiramisu), portions are just adequate, and quality is meh. I've come to conclude that food in Aspen is either costly and mediocre or stratospheric and mediocre. This is in the former category.

We ended up here by accident and SOOOOO glad we did. We were headed to another local restaurant and decided it was a little too stuffy for what we were looking for. We headed in late, but they were very welcoming. We sat in the dining area, which is small, but not cramped, with a wall of windows overlooking the street for entertainment. There was only one other couple there when we arrived and we were soon the only ones, not counting the football fans at the bar, who seemed to be locals and had just the right level of enthusiasm without being loud or disruptive. Our waiter Anthony suggested a great cocktail with a liquer that has local ties and even brought over a sample of it to see if I liked it before ordering (I did). I went with his recommendation and he returned heavy headed to tell me that they didn't have the proper ingredients to make it. I asked if the bartender could make something else with it and he returned with an amazing concoction that he had improvised.
We shared an Especial pizza which was outstanding. The crust was super thin, just the right amount of crisp and the toppings were a terrific combination of flavors, despite my hesitation at reading them on the menu. We had Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding for dessert and it was also fantastic.
By far though - the best part of this restaurant is the staff. Anthony was terrific, he made us feel like we were regulars here despite living 2,000 miles away. He sat with us at our prompting and told us stories of his travels and of local lore the way only a born and bred Aspenite could. He introduced us to the owner - Gil, who was just as welcoming. I'm sure it helped that it's the shoulder season and they could spend a little time, but it still sold us on Aspen! -

This place has the potential to be so good. The pizza is consistently tasty, but much of the rest of the experience disappoints. The service is spotty, there are usually small dogs running around near (or on) the bar, and the place is not clean (witness the faux snow spray painted on the front window to cover what appears to be an untidy storage area). No kidding: my friend returned her salad because it had a large beetle in it.

I have been to Bruno's several times now, and it never disappoints. The pizza and calzones are great, lots of variety and very original. Good desserts too. The service is awesome, they really take care of locals especially, but I have sent many tourists their way as well, and always get good feedback.

Very tasty pizza with nice crispy crusts. Beet salad had great beets and goat cheese. The house Cabernet was a bargain at $26/bottle. The service was very friendly, but very much ski bum/surfer dude.

This place is inside the courtyard of a building in downtown Aspen, on the second floor. We all had salads and pizzas and everything was delicious. This not Domino's pizza; they will give you a small (individual) thin crusted pizza like you would get in Italy, but with American variations in the ingredients. I had the "Paisano" pizza with chorizo and jalapenos and it was delicious. My greek salad was pretty good too. At 15 dollars for a personal pizza and 9 dollars for salads, this palce had some of the best values that we encountered while dining in Aspen. The personal pizza is the equivalent to 2 or 3 slices of a large American pizza, so depending on your appetite you may be able to share. I have a pretty decent appetite and I could only eat half the pizza after my greek salad. There was a large party with children next door, and the children were having a blast making their own small pizzas at the table. I understand that the staff would bake the pizzas for them in the oven afterwards. Depending on the kid, this could be a recipe for disaster, but everyone sitting next to us seemed to be having a great time and taking the pizza making very seriously. They don't take reservations and the service was a bit brash, but all in all I would go back because the food was affordable and delicious.
