My husband and I were recently married down in Westerly, RI. We chose Bruna's Table as our Rehearsal Dinner location and we could not have been happier with our selection! Even with lots of restaurants to chose from in the area, we ending up eating at Bruna's Table three times!
Three different times, three different entrees, all amazing. They order fresh and you can tell. By the third time, they remembered my husband and I and treated us wonderfully. We met the chef, who was very nice; the managers, who knew we didn't live in the area but gave us a gift card for when we were back in the area; and the waitstaff was all super polite and accommodating.
Date nights, large parties, Bruna's can do it all! I 100% recommend this restaurant. -

Calamari appetizer used to be amazing. But as a whole, it seems that everything that used to be amazing there is just OK now. New chef just doesn't have the flare the old one did.

I have Italian heritage, and I've eaten in dozens of Italian restaurants. This is one of the best. The vodka sauce was superb and not garlicy. The tags and meat sauce was great too.

Just entering this restaurant made me happy. The terra cotta walls, the fresh flowers, the Tuscan painted plates, a very warm and welcoming feeling.
There was a bit of a wait, which I was surprised about since it was a Tuesday night, but our meal was well worth it!
I shared the white wine mussels special, and honestly, I grew up on the shore, I've had my fair share of seafood, but these were the best mussels I've ever had!
For an entree, I had the oven roasted salmon, which was perfectly cooked.
And to end the night, we shared perhaps the biggest piece of tiramisu I've seen in a while.
Overall it was such a great night, delicious food, very friendly staff. If you're in the area, go visit, it's right across the street from the train station with a big parking lot in the back. -

Over sized wine glasses and good Italian food?! Yes, I did just write that... and yes, it's true.
Recommendation: Ask the staff... or just point if you can't pronounce the title of the meal. Oh... and don't forget to order a glass of wine (or two). -
Review from Pete B.
Southington, CT
After a few acceptable meals here, they completely botched a meal for my wife and I and a friend... we had a reservation, got rushed to seat in a bad location, then came bad service, a two hour wait, and subpar food, with the restaurant half empty. The apologetic staff should save their breath and tell the kitchen to get their act together. They won't see my business again. Tourist-trap treatment doesn't deserve a repeat visit.

I have eaten at Bruna's Table many times with family and friends and I would put money on Pete B. from Southington CT never actually having set foot in the place. It is a smallish' one room restaurant so I fail to see where the "bad location" could be. The food is exceptional, the service is almost always great, even when they are slammed, and they do get busy. During "Restaurant Week" in Westerly, four of us showed up at 8:00pm on a Friday night and waited about 45 minutes for a table. Yes, Pete, sometimes you have to wait, but the staff seated us outside with drinks and we chatted until it was our turn. The kitchen is responsive and will create something for you if you are in the mood for something not on the menu. This is a fine dining restaurant with a tight menu, a great wine list and far from a tourist trap by virtue of its location a little off the beaten path. If you visit Bruna's Table, you will have a great meal and a wonderful experience!

We had a solid meal at Bruna's and I would go back. Service was decent, they were not perfect but good and tried hard. Overall atmosphere was nice and they have a nice outdoor patio. Clearly caters to an older crowd.
Appetizers were very good, mussels were good with butter and white wine and the sauteed calamari was excellent. It was a nice break from the traditional breaded and fried and was well done in a light but savory sauce, not over cooked as is easy to do. Salads were fresh and the greens tasty, if a little simple.
Main dishes we all had pastas and all were good, one was great. One of the biggest surprises about this restaurant is it is entirely friendly for gluten-free eaters. All pastas can be substituted for rice pasta which is huge (though I did find 2 small pieces of spagetti in my dish so if you are sensitive make sure they are careful). We did not have desert but all in all it was quite good and we would go back as prices were very reasonable, but not cheap. -

I had dinner at this cute little Italian place nestled into a neighborhood in Westerly, RI.
The menu was great with lots of choices for pasta as well as fresh meats and crisp salads. The best part of this restaurant is that they have all the items that are gluten-free marked with as asterisk, as well as offering rice pasta to substitute in their pasta dishes.
I had the veggie-filled salad which was tasty and a good appetizer-sized portion. I also ordered the Pasta di Estate with rice pasta and thought it was nice as well. I wished there had been a little more flavor to the white wine garlic sauce, but overall it was a tasty dish. I also had the Mark West Pinor Noir, which was slightly sweet and not too bitter.
A great find for gluten-free diners, this restaurant's menu and service makes it hard to beat. -

Excellent Italian food and wine. No bar and a strange entrance with parking in the back but the meals are always very good to excellent. Highly recommend for a nice night out. In the spring and Summer outside dining which I always love!

Abysmal service, food so-so
Pros: The calamari was good. Organic food, gluten-free options
Cons: Where to begin.
We arrived on time for a 7:45 reservation for 7 people, but the table wasn't ready until after 8:20. Okay, the other customers lingered (or maybe their service was slow too), but then the waitstaff were slow to clean when it did free up, and we did have a reservation.
We had had the menus since arrival, courtesy of the hostess, and we told the busboy as we were seated that we wanted to order right away. The waitress came by 22 minutes later. I asked our waitress for bread the first time (a table who was seated 10 minutes after us already theirs); she snapped "it's coming." I asked the hostess for bread about 15 minutes after that. It finally came ten minutes later. It's now after 9pm. Incidently, all the folks who were seated while we were waiting for our table got their bread right away. Wouldn't have been an issue but for the long wait for the table. Or if everyone was treated the same. And no, we weren't obnoxious or loud or demanding while we were wating. We just stood or sat on the bench, and talked to one another. Unsurprisingly, no one came over during or after the meal to ask how everything was.
The food: The penne were undercooked, the spaghetti and tagliatelle were overcooked. Sauces were okay, nothing special. Pork roast was good. The calamari appetizer was terrific. The caesar salad was chopped lettuce and adequate.
Bottom line: Try the Up River Cafe - better food and better service.
