I'm just baffled by the bad reviews that people have written here! My husband and I are huge into chocolate and this place is by far our favorite. We like it better than Frans and Godiva.  It's the best chocolate I've ever had! The chocolate is creamy and velvety smooth. They have fantastic flavors! Some of our favorites: Earl Grey, Praline, Orange Thyme, and Salted Caramel. It's worth every dime! When we were in there today, we met a couple who told us they came to the store every week to purchase a box of 12!

I can't believe someone accused them of being racist! Totally an inappropriate comment. The owner helped us out today and she was the sweetest, nicest person I've ever met! We're of Asian descent, so I definitely don't think she was racist!! She cut up two types of truffles for us to sample and patiently explained all of the flavors to us. She helped us for a good 15-20 minutes. We were being indecisive and she was so sweet about it! She also told us a story about how she acquired one of the recipes while studying under a Belgian chocolatier. How cool is that?!

I told my husband that this is the only chocolate I want for special occasions from here on out!

My generous, love of my life, has treated me to some amazing combination boxes of Brugge Chocolates for occasions such as my birthday, Valentines Day and some of those "just because" occasions (where I know he's the one who actually is craving chocolate).  I have not once, been dissapointed!

Though I've never actually stepped foot in Brugge Chocolates, I find the flavor and presentation of the chocolates absolutely divine. A box never lasts more than an hour!

My ultimate favorite is the dark chocolate caramel. Even though I hate dark chocolate with a passion and am not big on ever mixing sweet and salty in one bite, these chocolates were heavenly!

I look forward to my birthday in December because I'm hoping (knock on wood) that he will remember to stop by Brugge Chocolates for my favorite box!

Fresh made and ready in less than 24 hours for a last minute addition to my wedding, these ladies made it happen! All the guest loved the chocolate and caramel!
I sent my new husband out to get me a big box, they were gone in 1 night!

I must say, I agree wholeheartedly with Linda Grayson who said, "There's nothing better than a good friend, except a good friend with CHOCOLATE."

Doing my duty to be that very good friend, I popped into "Brugge Chocolates" in Redmond ( right across the parking lot from my 5-star favorite, Trader Joes!).

Imagine my delight! After all, this is a person who spent over $60 worth of Chocolate in Belgium this summer.

Stiff competition exists in the Chocolate category " Oh Chocolate!"  is still my favorite. But the Marco Polo infused with Earl Grey Tea and the Limoncello are very good.

Their Pistachio Marzipan was good, but not potent enough with the Almond flavor I crave.

Suggested wine pairings are offered right there in the store.

Picked up a cute little Chocolate cell phone for a business gift.

Pumpkin and Egg Nog are the current seasonal varieties.

Little place across from Trader Joe's, easy to miss. The quality of the chocolates is divine. And as my boyfriend says, that's a word I don't usually use. The word "Good" just didn't fit. We bought an assortment of , limoncello, pistachio and cardamon. We were also given a sample of the pear and one with Earl Grey. Both of which were really good. Yes, you are going to pay more for these little morsels, flavors are subtle, but they are definitely a standard above Godiva or Dilletante.

The owner was gracious, helpful and friendly. I am sorry to see a negative review that threw in the word racism (Really
had to go there?). Totally not the case for us and I'm not white.
I also like the fact I can support our local independently owned businesses in Redmond.

Ok, I just had the difficult job of pairing wines and the amazing truffles from Brugge. Seriously, it was very tough work. ;)

The owner is a professionally trained chocolatier, and her work is mind blowing. Apricot with lavender? Pear with pink peppercorn? Pistachio with cardamon? I got to try quite a few, and I cannot wait to try more.

While they aren't cheap, you don't need a lot to be satisfied. Seriously, I am in love with this place and if you are in the eastside area, run... don't walk here.

Having just eaten 6 truffles ($12) worth of chocolate at once (I'm sick I can do what I want!) I picked up at this place on Thursday evening I am now highly qualified to write this review.

I went through a mix of emotions when eating the chocolates. The first one I was thinking "mmmm, that's some good quality chocolate!". The second I was thinking "wow I wouldn't usually like this taste mixed with chocolate but since it is subtle it actually is very good". And then "wow I really like the secondary flavor in this one, I wish it was a bit stronger".

And that's the curse and the benefit of this place. They give you subtle flavors blended in with chocolate-y goodness. You'll be happy the flavor is more subtle when it's something you can't take a lot of, but want the flavor to come to the forefront more if you like it a lot.

That makes this one of those places where you could order something you don't normally like mixed with chocolate (anything espresso or specific fruits for me) and still like it. Which would probably make it great for gift giving.

Overall since the chocolate they use tastes great, you get to try things you normally wouldn't like, and the woman that worked at the store was very nice I give Brugge Chocolates a strong 4 stars. And I challenge you not to think about "In Bruges" when you walk into this place.

This review was paid for by my pocketbook but endorsed by my stomach.

This is my favorite chocolate place in the Seattle area!!!

It is not in Seattle. But neither am I!  Between Brugge Chocolates and Flying Saucer Pizza (which I'm not sure would make a very good meal together, but I'm sure they could figure something out? And probably should?) I am starting to loooooveeee Redmond.

I have now sampled several Brugge flavors and every single one was delicious. They are melty. They are gooey. They are inventive and creative. And they are NOT OVERLY SUGARY!!!

Not overly sugary = Chocolate holy grail. This is MAJOR!!!

Oh not only that - Brugge sells wines to pair with your chocolate.  So you don't need to make a double stop for your gifts. And the chocolatier who runs the shop and makes everything by herself, by hand, in the back, is amazingly friendly and nice. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted with a tray of delicious samples of chocolate and... I don't know what it was... some kind of delicious fruit goo.

They have some gorgeous heart-shaped wood gift boxes available. Thereby elevating them above Fran's with both superior packaging and product quality. These are the clear "I Really F*ed Up, Sorry!" or "Will You Marry Me?" gift chocolates of choice.

I've been waiting for this place to open. There are not too many chocolatiers in Redmond, so I am happy that they are finally open! They have beautiful truffles with some interesting flavours.

Apparently, this place just opened up not too long ago, so I didn't feel that everything was quite in place. However, the two ladies who worked there were very courteous and knowledgeable of their products.

I'll definitely go back there to get more chocolate!

So happy to finally have a chocolate shop in Redmond! And no, Sees Candies does NOT count.
Very pretty shop and amazing chocolates. They were  a bit on the more expensive side. Looking forward to watching this shop grow.

I enjoyed every piece that I got. I loved the salted caramel one and surprisingly was not as much of a fan of the plain dark chocolate. The chocolates had a nice crunchy shell and a soft inside. The packaging was lovely and the people were nice. My boyfriend said they gave him a sample to try too. I will definitely be back.

Independent chocolate shop - homemade chocolates. All keywords that get me excited. Plus, the additional bonus is the wine pairings that you can get at this little shop. The service was FANTASTIC. You are offered a sample upon entering the store. There are so many fantastic sounding flavors, its hard to choose just a few. We tried the flavors and we weren't fans of all of them. There were some flavors that were better than others. The coconut curry was good, the pear was a bit to perfumey flavored, the eggnog was good, the caramels were also good. The chocolates melt in your mouth and a perfect size. I like that they aren't super sweet. Oh, Chocolates is still my favorite as their flavors are consistently strong. But, this shop has alot of great things going for it.

This is not the type of review I want to write. But it should be written. I didn't get to taste the chocolates here. Me and my daughter happened to notice this new store in the strip mall when we were looking for gifts for my wife. I am a chocolate aficionado and haunt many such stores, our favorite being Fran's. We walked on in and browsed around. Stuff seemed laid out quite like Fran's. There was one lady behind the counter making small talk with a couple. We came around to the counter eventually to hand pick some truffles. The lady so far had not acknowledged our presence and continued to make small talk with the folks who were not really seeming to make a purchase. We stood there a few minutes and patiently waited. The lady did not as much as give us a look or said something like "be right with you". Then we left. Racist? Who cares, and in Redmond which is so diverse that may be bit of a problem for them.

This is one place where I will not be back and don't really care how the stuff tastes! Way to lose a customer. There are many places that I like much better than this could ever be, close as it may be.

I was very disappointed in this store. The staff were very rude and the chocolates were not flavorful. The prices were expensive which is fine if it's worth it but they were definately not. I am sticking with Fran's.

I was really looking forward this shop opening but left a little disappointed. I bought 10 varieties. Yes, they are a little expensive but I that doesn't bother me if it is worthy. Sadly, this was not. The chocolates were boring. The descriptions were elaborate but the flavor just did not translate. These are far from being the best in the PNW. I also felt that there are more tapestries on display than chocolate. I think too many people celebrate mediocrity.
