Bruegger's is a great little bagel joint and coffee place if you are just passing through or if you live in the area.

Whether chirpily skipping to your job in the morning or just want to get something fast.

Prices are cheap and even when you splash out on omelet or cream cheese it is not much of a dent in your pocket.

My favorite bagels are the Asiago Parmesan and Sun Dried Tomato, but sometimes they don't carry them.

Their coffee is not the best, and they do not carry stevia, so I usually carry a few packets in my haversack.

Why oh Why do i keep coming here?  The service is painfully slow - and there were only 2 people in the line (one lady ahead of me and then me).  It took about 7 minutes to get a toasted bagel with butter.

And I asked her to cut it in half (sometimes they do, sometimes they don't) and when I got to my office - not cut in half.

And Britney (sp?) the morning cashier is soooooo not into working.  You can tell she'd rather be elsewhere.

Oh - and a bagel with cc and (g-d forbid) tomato is over $3.00.

    YOUCH!

Not gonna come back for a while.  It's a shame because 2 of their bagel flavors (Rosemary Olive Oil and Cinnamon Sugar) I find very good.  A whole lot better then the rat-infested Au Bon Pain down the block.

Please step up your service and lower your prices (even by 10 cents would help).

If your honey walnut cream cheese wasn't so delicious, I would surely never be back.

First off, I came in at around 8:15 AM. A large part of the population in Center City Philadelphia begins work 8-9 AM. Many of us want a bagel and coffee. You had one person working on bagels and one person at the register/coffee. The line was to the door.

Second, you had a whopping 3 types of bagels, all the other baskets were empty and not going to be ready for a while.

It seemed like an off day, but maybe this is just an off place. I'll get my cream cheese elsewhere thank you!

We like to keep some bagels at the house for those weekend mornings when you just don't feel like making that effort to put on pants and go out to brunch.  We were in need of replenishing our stock so decided to check out Bruegger's.  We got the multigrain, rosemary and olive oil, and jalapeno.

These bagels were like hockey pucks!!  Small and hard (not just on the outside, the whole thing).  Perhaps we got a bad batch, but seeing as we tried a few different kinds, that seems unlikely.  Fail.

Bruegger's is a decent bagel place offering fresh bagels and very good service. For the cost of a bagel with cream cheese, you would think they would give you a good amount of cream cheese but this is not the case. They are very stingey with their ingredients. If I didn't work in the building, Bruegger's would not be an option for a good bagel sandwhich.

Got a Deli Bagel.  Small Bagel, barely any lunch meat....enough said.  Very disappointed.  I am sticking with Manhattan Bagel or Local Joints.

This has been my go-to lunch place for awhile since it's across the street from my work but I'm starting to rethink continuing to come here.

The bagels are great, they've never messed those up.  I love all the flavors, I think I get something different everytime. If you just want a bagel, you'll be fine here.

They used to have great sandwiches but recently changed their menu.  Now everything comes on their ciabatta bread which I don't find delicious.  The last time I got a pressed sandwich it was hard as a rock and difficult to eat.  The coffee is only ok, not worth it compared to all the other coffee options around the corner.

The service has also drastically gone down hill.  I realized today that they double charged me for my bagel.  I found a receipt in my purse from last week where I was again double charged.  I rarely get the same thing twice so my bill comeing to $1-2 more than last time doesn't seem too bad but now that I know its because they are charging me for both a bagel and a sandwich I'm going to be paying more attention if I go back (unfortunately I didn't realize this until I was already back at work).

Bruegger's used to be on my "do not eat" list because I had a couple sandwiches there that were subpar.  Since then, I have come to realize that their bagels are really great. Good size and very fresh.  I get the everything bagel and it comes with tons of "everything," if that makes sense. I've come to like the coffee too, although it is not the best.

Bruegger's has a bottomless mug deal where you pay a flat fee to get unlimited drinks (coffee and fountain soda) for 6 months or a year. Several of my coworkers have done this and said they easily recouped their money. So if you live and/or work nearby, it's a smart option. Plus Bruegger's lets them get more than one drink at a time for mooching friends!

Staff is quick and friendly.  Bagels are great.  But I still won't get the sandwiches and other non-bagel food.

I usually love Bruegger's Bagels since I am from Pittsburgh and they are more prevelant there but the one here on Market has terrible service.  I ordered bagels here one morning and the woman was pulling them out of the bin so furiously that she ended up throwing them on the floor, I mean I was the only one there and its not like I was rushing her.  Of course I didnt want the bagels then and they would have to make more...  I did have a really good bagel sandwich there another time so its not that the food itself is horrible just bad workers.  Coffee is mediocre I would rather just go to WaWa's in the long run.

The customer service isn't always great, but there are a few standouts in the staff that can make all the difference.  I think their bagels are truly awesome, and the whole wheat bagel with strawberry cream cheese is perfection when my day warrants a morning indulgence.  And i appreciate that they have small bottles of milk among their beverages, but my only warning is that they ALWAYS have expired bottles among the selection.  Be sure to check the date if you're grabbing a little bottle of milk.

Oh, and regarding lunch, the sandwiches are be a little pricey in my opinion.

Firmly in the category of 'mediocre' we have the following: spinach/cheddar/sausage omelette sandwich on a pretzel bagel and a cup of coffee.  I paid a scandalous $6 or so for the dismal privilege of ingesting it.

Bruegger's Bagels, you needn't have bothered.

Okay, I'm giving Brueggers 5 stars in relation to all of the other bagel places in Philadelphia. Seriously, they're excellent. They're a great size, crisp on the outside with plenty of topping / ingredients for whatever bagel you so choose. And the cream cheese flavors are really great and varied.

My bagel / cc of choice would have to be an everything bagel with bacon scallion cream cheese. So good.

I think that bagels are probably some of my favorite things in the world, and I honestly can't walk by without getting one here.

Their sandwiches are overpriced however, so this is a bagel only review.

Last Saturday morning, my friend and I visited the new Bruegger's for a grab and go breakfast that would remedy our stomachs from a late night out.  I ordered an everything bagel "softwich" with turkey, lettuce, tomato and pickles on the side as well as a cup of coffee.

When this rang up somewhere around the $9 mark, I was momentarily stupefied.  Talk about over-inflation.  After parting with my final skinny jeans-crumpled Hamilton, we were off.

Back at the couch, I discovered that my softwich, while slammin', was missing its side of pickles.  Bummer.  Still, this would not keep me from returning to Bruegger's in the future.

Then, I took my first sip of coffee.  It was quite possibly the worst ever, right alongside the crap they serve in the Philly airport (refer to my review for details on THAT).  Yuck.  Bad coffee just ruins the breakfast experience.

I'd come back for bagels, but who really wants to make two stops in the morning for bagels and coffee?  Madness, I tell you.

This review is a Philly-centric 5-star rating, one of these days I'll find a true NY style bagel...but until then, this will do. Stopped at Brueggers this morning and found myself with a surprisingly large variety of bagel and cream cheese choices. I thought for a second, should I deviate from my standard poppy and veggie cream cheese? With all of the options I was almost overwhelmed and ultimately ended up with an everything bagel with jalapeno cream cheese.

The bagel was bigger than your average Philly bagel, had so many seeds that I could have coated another whole bagel with the fallen soldiers, was crispish on the outside without being too doughy on the inside, and the cream cheese was way better than my old fave jalapeno from the hot bagels on Columbus Blvd.

**Tip** Right past the checkout is a basket with "last night's bagels", I know...doesn't sound all that appealing...however they're still nice and soft and for the price of $2.99 for a pack of 6, throwing them in the freezer seems a whole lot better than that overpriced pack of lenders from Superfresh.

3.5. I really freakin' liked the bagel/roasted red pepper salad here, even if I got it without the chicken.

It was slow when I went, and I don't care.  Friendly, nice service and the salad was made how I wanted.  Plus, the spring greens were actually fresh - how strange?!

Okay, so I was spoiled living in Minnesota where there is a Bruegger's practically with every coffee shop.  I lived here for 6 months without my fav bagel place and then when this one opened 2 blocks from where I live and work, I was in heaven......well almost.

This location is a bit of a disappointment compared to the ones back home.  They have all the same menu options, but the service is kinda sucky.  I know they are new, but it's just not the same as my favs in MN.
And I guess they can't use the "new" excuse anymore because they've been open for about 6 months now!

Get your act together Bruegger's on Market Street.  I really want to love you too!

I love bagels and have always been spoiled by living close to a great bagel shop...until now.  I'll keep looking around Philly, but Bruegger's will suffice to settle my cravings in the meantime.

Bruegger's in Philly is pretty much like the Bruegger's in other states - good selection of fresh bagels and cream cheese options.  I had the Everything bagel with Light Garlic Herb cream cheese.  The Everything needed a little salt on the outside, but was otherwise flavorful.  The cream cheese was a little gritty or powdery - it may have been because it was light (something to be said for regular fat!).

They're currently running a limited-time special where you can buy a dozen bagels for $5.99 on Wednesdays.  The special has been going on since spring, so I'm not sure how truly limited it is, but it's a pretty good deal.  The day-old bagels (6 for $2.99) is also not a bad deal, but they're pre-packaged, so you can't mix and match across a variety of flavors.

    Yummy.  Love those carb-a-licious bagels!

Brand new place, just a hop, skip and a jump from my office.  The bagel selection is very nice, with a few, unique "softer", square bagels designed to be a little better for sandwiches.  I've tried the assiago cheese, and the rosemary olive oil; Rosemary could be my new best friend. The selection of cream cheeses is very nice as well.  Try their pumpkin spice coffee for a Fall twist on your morning caffeine fix.

It's a relief to have a good bagel option on this side of City Hall.  I am so done with Au Bon Pain & having to wait in line forever just to get a bagel toasted.  We will certainly try Bruegger's for the next group bagel occassion here at work.

Haven't tried lunch yet, but will do so next week.  Stay tuned.  You take a gander at their website & check out the menu for yourself.

    UPDATE:  9/23/08
The birthday bagel frenzy was a success, with everyone in the office lovin' the bagels, the cream cheese, the price and the convenience.

I've also tried a sandwich (radishy roast beef) on a softwich.  It was good, however some of the staff are still a little inexperienced at building a sandwich.  Example:  rather than taking the pre-portioned roast beef apart and distributing it evenly over the bread, it was just placed in one big lump in the middle.  Not a huge deal, and something that will (hopefully) be remedied with experience.  Maybe a wrap next time?

Awful awful service.  The sweating overweight woman trying to make a bagel sandwich for 10min wouldn't even acknowledge my presence.  I was the 2nd in line, and I stood there like a fool for 15min while she dripped sweat all over the food she was cutting.
I actually walked out since all I wanted was a toasted wheat bagel.

Also, the male cashier just stood there playing with his phone while myself and another customer wanted to buy food.  Never ever again will I come here.

I love Bruegger's bagels.  My fav is the honey oat bagel.  Delish.  Paired with a large French Roast - it's how I like to start my mornings.

Decent prices.  They also sell the Naked juices if that is your thing.  I think this is a better alternative to Starbucks.

I think the biggest downfall of this place is the speed of service.
If you plan to order in quantities, be sure to call ahead, and go in early and still plan on waiting longer.
The last time I came in here we ordered coffee and tea for the office. We called them the day before, and set a pick up time of 9:30 am. They said they would have it ready. Well.....it wasn't.
When I got in to pick everything up it was maybe 9:40ish. I figured I'd just run in and grab the coffee and get back...oh no. I had to stand around just to get someone to pay attention to me. They were too busy talking. Then when I told them where I was from, and that we'd already paid they hadn't even started our order. To top it off...they didn't have enough coffee prepared to fill it. So I had to wait some more, and wait I did. I think I sat around for about 25 minutes.
If that's something you can handle, the coffee is alright. I doubt I'll ever use them again though. Too much waiting around for me.

If it was for the food, it would be at the very least a 4 star rating, but the few times I've visited Bruegger's, the girl seems disinterested in preparing a simple toasted bagel w/cream cheese.  Hope next time I stop by for the anniversary deal I can tip her to put a smile on her face.

Mostly, I come here because I need to kill time on weekend mornings, and their Wi-Fi is 100% free, and actually reliable -- a concept which seems to have escaped most places around here.  Anyway, I don't drink coffee, so I can't tell you how that is.  The tea selection is slim, but does the job, I guess.  The bagels, however, are delicious.  Really delicious.  Rosemary and olive oil are particularly tasty.  I enjoy the spinach omelet sandwich on one of them, but I wish they'd make the eggs to order.  Alas.  The other baked goods (cookies, brownies, blondies, and cakes) are also delicious.  Try the everything cookie, if nothing else.
