I'll admit that bagels are one of the food items that you cannot find outside of NYC/Long Island. I think it has to do with the water. But as far as bagels outside of NYC/LI Bruegger's is my favorite. I like that they are not the size of my head (hell its still 300-400 deliciously empty calories at Bruegger's, it doesn't need to be the size of my head and have 600-800 calories...without butter).
Service is usually good at this location.
There is only on street parking.
The coffee at all Bruegger's locations is pathetic. -

So maybe I'm just not a fan of bagel sandwiches...but when I do crave one I usually want them to be you know...moderately sized. How do they make the bagels so little and then sell them as if they are a real size bagel? They aren't.
The service here is usually pretty good....kinda slow but theres never really a line so they have that up on other places. I'm not a huge fan of brueggers coffee though it just doesn't have the bold taste that I love...although I've only tried the french vanilla, so maybe if I go back I'll ask what stronger blend they have.
I do love this brueggers cause I get to use the sefcu ATM so I dont get a fee and I can get cash, a bagel, and a coffee..which is a pretty good start to the day. I think I'll stick with my starbucks and price chopper bagels though. Sorry brueggers...your good..just not good enough. -

Yay for Brueggers...
I'm a pretty picky eater, even if I do have a fairly large range of food I'm into.. but still I am picky about what I'll eat. And well, I love this place so that must mean something :)
I've been coming here since I was in junior high and I pretty much get the same thing every time I get the Bruegger's craving. Which is an onion bagel with plain cream cheese. Yeah, I know stinky onions lol.. but it's good and I carry gum on me.. or I take it home and scarf it down in private lol.
Their iced coffee is pretty good, their soup is tasty and I've tried the little square bagels which are also good.
It's a clean shop, staffed with usually friendly people and the line moves quick if there is one. As for parking, you'll either get lucky and park out front on the street, have to drive and look for a spot or there's an empty lot next door that says it tows but well, I've yet to be towed so I always use that if I'm just going in and out quickly.Listed in: Troy, NY

The place for bagels, lots of different ones that will suit any taste. A pretty good lunch too for a very fair price.
Only negative is that it gets a bit packed on certain days but the staff are always pleasant. -

I've been hooked on Bruegger's ever since my friends took me for my first visit up near Rochester. I actually had no idea that this location was the first ever - that's pretty cool.
I usually come here for a breakfast bagel the morning after a night out. My usual is bacon, egg and cheese on a plain bagel. Their bacon is delicious here - it's smoked and has pepper all around the edges.
This time around I stopped by for lunch. I got the Turkey Chipotle Club - turkey, peppered bacon, chipotle mayo, lettuce and tomatoes on honey wheat. I opted for no tomatoes. I usually prefer my sandwiches hot, but mmmm, this is one good sandwich. There is just nothing wrong with it.
The only thing with Bruegger's is that it's a little pricier than bagels and sandwiches elsewhere. However, fresh kettle-boiled bagels are a nice treat once in awhile. -

I had short, dark hair in my tuna sandwich. This is the second time this had happened... I wont be returning.

I've only been several times (in 5+ years of living in Troy) but my recent trip was not the best.
Bagels - for $1.50 they charge, they're not much bigger than a Lender's frozen bagel (about 20%) and not even that chewy.
The small portion of lox and cream cheese added over $4 to the price (yes, I know a bagel with lox is typically $7, but the portions of lox are more than double of Bruegger's .
My coffee was of average taste, and cost $1.49 for a small 12 oz cup (which for Troy, is definitely on the high side - small cups elsewhere are usually $1).
In all, I don't go to Russel Sage, so I suppose I don't see the value of it being a 'trendy' place. I'll take my $7.50 to other places in town and get better meals - unfortunately without the smoked salmon, as my favorite shop only has it on certain occasions ($4 for bagel, cream cheese, and lox). -

Best bagels ever! Also love the bagel sandwiches and the love even the inside of the place. It's also pretty cool how it's hooked up to the book shop so you can go get a magazine and bring it over and relax at Bruegger's while you munch on some good foodie!

Brueggers = the best bagels of my life. This is the best Bruegger's location to go to...especially if you have jury duty you can stop over here. It's quick, convenient, and you'll be back in time for the case. Not to mention it's yummy in my tummy.
