Decent bagels, decent prices, decent service, decent salads, decent sandwiches.
Thier breakfast sandwiches are way better than MDonalds or Burgerking. I love the Western specially, and you can always get egg whites only.
It annoys me off that they sell a "skinny bagel" that is actually a regular bagel with a slice cut out of the middle. If they made bagel chips or croutons out of the middle I could understand, but they just throw it away.
Free WIFI,
Most of the time the upstairs seating is quiet- sunday after church hours this is not the case -

I'll freely admit that I am biased when it comes to bagels having lived the majority of my life in Jersey and also spending a good amount of time in New York. As others have said, the bagels at Bruegger's are definitely a far cry from those found in NJ/NY but they are certainly more than merely edible!
Being a chain deli/bakery, Bruegger's naturally gives off that "chain vibe" which I guess can be positive in some ways rather than all negative. They do offer a wide variety of bagel "flavors" with tons of different types of cream cheeses. The bagels are not great but decent, and definitely get the job done when you're having a carb craving. They also offer a pretty wide variety of breakfast sandwiches, bagel sandwiches, and muffins for the AM, as well as a decent number of paninis, sandwiches, soups, and salads for later in the day. Again, I have not found anything to be out of this world phenomenal but everything is at least decent. Likewise, the coffee quality/taste is somewhere between the crap that I brew at home and the java you get served at your favorite cafe.
Perks of this spot are the friendly service, the open feel to the space given the high ceilings, the free WiFi, and the upstairs area (not a bad spot to unwind and enjoy your middle of the road coffee). Another plus is the fact that there is a private lot, though some of those spots are at weird angles and thus may put you in the danger zone with respect to other vehicles/pedestrians/cyclists/homeless people when pulling in or backing out (keep your head on a swivel!).
All in all, Bruegger's is a decent option in the markedly thin market for quality bagel shops in the Triangle but probably nothing to write home about (if home is in the Northeast). -

I just left this location and I must say I am quite upset with my first experience. Others have said good things but I do not think I will go back, but this is entirely based on my food preferences.
I ordered a cheddar and jalapeno bagel with egg and cheese. The server sliced the bagel and put the egg and cheese on it and started to wrap it up. I stopped her by saying that I would prefer it toasted and she said they can't toast it because the cheese would burn. I found this completely unacceptable, I hate cold bagels. She told me the cheese would burn which is rubbish. I have a cheap toaster at home that has a bagel setting that toasts only one side with a button push, and I have had similar cheese bagels toasted at other places and they only toast it on one side.
This is a bagel shop and they have never foreseen that someone or some type of bagel would need to be toasted on one side only? Ridiculous, like I said my 40 dollar toaster company knew this. And not even a microwave alternative option to warm it up?
So I order a second bagel..the Smoked salmon bagel. The server starts to prepare that and starts to put Lox on it. I immediately stop her by saying "Ummm, I'm sorry I asked for the Smoked Salmon not Lox" and her reply was "This is smoked salmon". To which I replied "No that is Lox, Lox is cured salmon I wanted smoked salmon like the menu says" Her reply was that Lox is Smoked Salmon and that is what they had, so I told her to forget it.
They are not the same, they are different processes, different products...simple.
In any event, I was already upset at the fact that a bagel shop doesn't have a proper bagel toaster, that they think Lox is smoked salmon and to top it off she was argumentative about it, I just wanted out of that place.
The bagel wasn't good because I like toasted bagels and I didn't bother getting my coffee.
I probably won't be going back because what I like they don't have and they can't prepare a bagel to my liking. But others still love that place so ..two stars from me, if you go, good luck. -

I'm here right now! I don't know about that newfangled "check-in" stuff, though. I've been to this Bruegger's once or twice before and I like it. It is a neat building with lots of space, plus I can take my laptop and just hang out and kill some time. The food and coffee aren't mind-blowing or anything, but they get the job done.
I think the staff is particularly cool here. I didn't even know I had cheese options before at other Bruegger's for my bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel. Yeesh! By the way, they have red, white and blue bagels today for July 4th. That's cute.
Big windows, tall ceilings, and a second floor to hang out on. I dig. -

Nice location, very accessible easy parking and lots of seating. The counter staff is friendly and they run the process conveyor belt style like a Subway Sandwich type spot.
The bagels are vast and varying. Bruegger's is designed for people on the go. Thing is the bagels as they seem to be prepared correctly they really lack flavor. It's almost weird. The toppings are what they say they are. However, the bagel itself overall is bland. Mass produced is going to taste like this and It is what it is. However, The coffee is actually hot and bold- Kudos for that. -

I really like bagels. Mostly, I think it's genetic, but there is nothing than a bagel & shmear with lox, onion and tomato. However, I can't always afford that luxury (gotta watch the waistline!) so I get my favorite alternative from Brueggers.
This is a chain, I shouldn't have to explain to the "Northerners" that these bagels AREN'T real NY bagels. These are the South's version. They're round, there's a hole and their loaded with whatever you want. But, it definitely ain't New York, baby.
I do really like the fact that they'll make my bagel however I want. I also like the fact that they're quick, so when I'm running late and need to pick up a quick breakfast option, I know I can count on them. In fact, 9 times out of 10 if I need to grab breakfast on the way to work, I'm going to stop at Brueggers. I'd like to branch out, but I also really like dependable too.
All that said, they get three stars because the coffee's always brewed too strong and the cost of a bagel & cream cheese is getting way out of hand. Plus, there's something too sweet about a plain bagel nowadays. I wonder if they've changed their recipe.Listed in: Breakfast in Durham

If you've read my review on Bodo's, you will be able to judge for yourself how biased my review will be...
Brueggers is okay. They bagels aren't warm or soft or crunchy. I went in the morning when I thought there would be a fresh batch, but it seems like they make a huge batch early rather than continuous make them. They have a large selection of flavors, but my favorite kind, everything bagel, was not quite as bursting with toppings as I had hoped. There is also a vast array of cream cheese spreads to go with the bagels.
For me, Bruegger's does not do a bagel justice. -

Bruegger's is fine. Solid spot for a quick breakfast. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Bruegger's is pretty tasty! They have very friendly service here and they make your bagel to order. I had a nova lox bagel on an everything bagel and it was pretty good! I think all bagel places tend to put a ton of cream cheese on their bagels but better to have more than not enough. I like the convenient parking lot out back and the upstairs seating area as well. Quick and easy and just the right price too.

Great Bagels. All different flavors. They cater for offices too.
The location is great. They took over an old bank office building that was once occupied by Wachovia. It still has all the classic ornamental features. Nice brunch and brekkie place. -

MMMMM! I love Bruegger's. It may not have the best bagels ever but the food is good and consistent. I would recommend the tomato soup and the breakfast bagel. They do tend to skimp a bit on the meat and cheese on the lunch sandwiches though which is a bit of a bummer. I do really love the food and the wide variety of options here. It is a great location on 9th street and is always fast.

i wish we had a Bruegger's where i live... they have amazing bagels (similar to NY Bagel Deli in Chicago - but better condiments) and the restaurant is pretty adorable, too. i got a rosemary bagel with cream cheese, lox (aka smoked salmon, in NC), capers, and tomatoes. hello. amazing. outstanding breakfast, along with green mountain coffee (new england rep'sent!). a good bagel can make or break my day... and bruegger's definitely made it. try the rosemary bagel, it will change your life!
