Review from Alex S.
Ah, downtown Brueggers. The perfect hangover food (especially, say, when you're posting on your birthday which happens to fall right after a major drinking holiday.)
Not a lot to say besides it being a normal Brueggers, a perfect spot for good to mediocre bagel sandwiches. However, this one is easy to get to from anywhere downtown (being on 4th and Vine) and the lines move WAY quick. Like, impressively in and out. That may make someone a little nervous about the quality of bagel sandwiches they are able to put together this quickly, but that person ain't me. I'll take it quick and not worry about what's in it.
Staff is friendly too, which is always nice when it's morning ... and you drank a ton of champagne the night before. Ow, my head. -

I have tried this place twice now. The first time I thought maybe it was a fluke, but I'm not going back again. Both times I've ordered a blueberry bagel with light cream cheese. The first time I ended up with some onion flavored cream cheese (not a good combination). The second time the service seemed totally indifferent to whether or not there was a customer across the counter or not. They didn't offer to toast the bagel, which to me is a definite requirement for a bagel store.
The bagels were in no way standouts in the vast world of bagels, and the prices are also a bit ridiculous. You'd be far better off buying their "last night's bagels" and toasting them yourself. Better yet, just stop at a Kroger before heading downtown. -

When the employees actually make an effort to talk to you, I think that counts for a lot. Kudos to the staff at Brueggers for not being robots! My bagel and cream cheese were prepared quickly and I took a seat at one of the outside tables (plenty of inside seating too). I had been walking around downtown all afternoon and was heading from The Banks back to my car at Duke Energy Center. This place was the perfect halfway location to rest my legs and grab an inexpensive snack. One tip: if you're not picky about your drink, just get an ice water instead of one from the refrigerated case. Vitamin Water was $2.39, regular bottled water $1.89, and Naked Juice was almost $3.

Good choice for a quick breakfast downtown... bagels were great!
I would recommend the salmon bagel..comes with smoked salmon, capers, cream cheese, and red onions. I think it's delicious on any bagel, but it was really good on the rosemary and olive oil bagel. -

This location downtown is so convenient to walk to. The store was clean, of course I didn't make it to the bathrooms. When we first got there the line was about 10 deep, but it moved very quickly. We were in and out in less than ten minute. We carried the food on the 8 (or so) block home. It wasn't hot, but good god it was still delicious! It was some sort of western bagel sandwich. I didn't order it, my friend did, but he did a swell job.

Brueggers is a solid downtown choice for breakfast or lunch. They consistently do a good job with bagels, coffee, sandwiches, soups, salads. They have monthly bagel and/or coffee pairings, new flavors of bagels and/or cream cheese, and other specials that make it a fun and interesting place to go. The atmosphere is cozy and relatively spacious for a downtown spot. It's a great place to meet a friend, coworker, client, or to enjoy a fresh bagel yourself.
The prices are very reasonable, and the staff is friendly. It's not as fast as some other breakfast or lunch places, but everything is made to order. To me, that's worth an extra few minutes. As far as chain go, Brueggers is reliable, fresh, friendly, and high quality. I'll keep going back for sure. -

I finally ate here for lunch because I had a gift card sitting in my wallet for over a year. I've only been to this location once before in the last 3 years or so and both experiences were sub par.
I had a Roast Beef and Veggie Panini that was flimsy, soggy and the beef was Steak Ums-esque. It also took a long time as customer after customer filed past me with their orders. Ended up being $8.79 for a small rubbery panini, a bag of chips and a med. drink.
I'll give it two stars because the staff was nice and attentive, albeit slow. -

I would have given Bruegger's Bagels a 4 star rating except they were out of coffee. This didn't affect me personally as I grabbed a latte from Starbucks across the street before I popped in for some baked goods. It did, however, hold up the line quite a bit. It was around lunch time so it was pretty backed up.
The customer was a massive bitch and the girl at the register handled herself very well. I was impressed because I probably would have thrown hot coffee in her face... well hot tea water since the coffee was dry. After scrambling around in the back, they were able to recover some coffee and get it brewing and the line started moving along nicely again.
The dudes that cut and schmear the bagels are great. They take special requests and pay attention as not to disappoint. I always get the Asiago bagel... toasted with light cream cheese... light on the cream cheese. The bagels don't require toasting as they are super fresh! -

I love the everything cookie and the bagel sandwiches are good too - plus Brueggers has my favorite cream cheese (bacon scallion)!

Good bagels, breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Good prices too! The coffee is as good and much cheaper than the Starbucks across the street!

I literally had the worst bagel of my life here. Also, they were "out" of coffee so I had to wait for ten minutes before it was "ready". They have free wi fi, which is a plus, but no outlet in the entire store to plug in your computer? Hello? what's the point of wifi without an electrical outlet for your lap top? Anyone there?

I was very dissappointed in service and my food was cold, I had a cold egg and cold ham on bread that they didn't ask if I wanted it toasted. Spilled my large coffee because it was so hot and full to the rim that the cup became flimsy. The young guy that came and mopped up was careless and took mop and cleaned 1 chair off with it after mopping floor while other chairs remain wet, I asked him for more coffee and he ignore me, so I went up front order another coffee it cost me $1.89 more. I left a note for the manger as I walk off they were laughing, so go at your on risk hope your visit go's better then mind, when you travel a lot u appreicate good buisness even from a small chain.
