Every time I go to Asheville I almost always end up here for several meals and then taking home a dozen. Their bagels are boiled and then baked making them exceptionally crisp and then chewy. The sandwiches offered seem to be the same common ones offered at other bagel places but it is the bagel that makes the difference.
Customer service here is fab as well, I've notice the same people working here for several years which does make for great consistent service.
Yummy Bagels !
Best bagels in town without a doubt. But still not great, and their concept of toasting is little more than warming. Their jalapeño cream cheese is not at all purist, but very tasty.
These guys know how to make bagels. I wish I could say the same for the other good bagel place on Merrimon - Buddha Bagels - but I believe that Bruegger's are more in my favorite "Jewish" style, crisp outsides, great dough-ey inside, rough bottom. Dig it!
