Review from Kevin S.
Los Angeles, CA
Still eating my way through this menu but there are definitely things on there that I find are to die for, and others that I could surely pass on. BUT the good far outweighs the bad and usually makes this a weekly stop for me.
These are god-like: ***** Spareribs with gravy - pricey but bow down on your hands and knees insane. The meat falls off the bone and resides in a gravy that makes for an eye-popping experience from the first bite and forever after.
***** Lau Lau - for which I would bow wow and beg, simple and tearfully umami. The tender taro leaves soaking in salty juices give these puppies a spot in the Delicious Hall of Fame.
**** Kalua Pork - like the lau lau salty juicy in a good way, just the way you dream it on a scoop of rice. Side by side with the lau lau it slightly pales in awesomeness, but it's a close second in flavorfulness. On its own, its plenty up to the task of satisfying your taste buds.
Not Bad: ***.5 Shoyu chicken - reminds me a lot of filipino adobo, but with a sweeter taste. Perhaps for that reason and the fact that I'm used to adobo, it wasn't on the top of my list. Still good. Just, you know, when something reminds you of something else and makes you want that more than what you have...?
Their sides - peppery macaroni salad, rice, kimchee, cabbage... all solid
Hrmmm: Shortrib stew - I wanted this to be great, I really did. But the meat was a bit tough, lacking the melt-in-your-mouth qualities of their spareribs in gravy. Once my sis pointed out the fact that its gravy was a bit Chef Boyardee-y in flavor I was kind of done with this dish. Send it to the brother-in-law. He'll eat anything and like it!
Overall, this is one of my favorite Hawaiian joints. It's homey and they speak with that laid back, friendly Hawaiian tone, eh. I appreciate that aesthetic. Because they do certain things so well, I would be proud to take advantage of their catering, as I know my friends would go bananas for this stuff.
I still need to get me some loco moco and spam musubi. Katsu... Ginger ahi... plenty of things left to explore! -

I like it because its a moms and pops shop and I love supporting the "lil guys" also the owners are very sweet. -

I used to come here alot when I was in highschool.
For memory sake i thought i would check it out and ordered some food and it was just as good.
They make the best chicken galbi. They also have really good Loco Mocos and their breakfast menu is really good. -

I haven't been to Bruddah's in YEARS, but I'm definitely coming back here. I had the shoyu chicken/chow fun plate lunch today and they got it RIGHT. Two scoops of rice, a scoop of macaroni salad, a healthy portion of chow fun, and three shoyu chicken thighs. Thank you for not skimping on the portions.
I enjoyed the shoyu chicken. It was tasty without being over marinated. I'll be back to try other dishes.
The servers were friendly.... -

We used to drive out to Gardena for our weekly hawaiian food fix. Several years ago, they had a change in ownership. We started to notice the quality of the food slowly decline, the flavors or our favorite dishes changed and the portions became smaller. We also noticed that the crowds weren't around anymore. (possibly the economy may have played a factor) Needless to say, we stopped making our weekly treks to Gardena.
We were pleasantly surprised on our recent visit. We had the Kalua and Lau Lau combo plates which are served with 2 scoops rice, potato mac salad, chicken long rice and lomi lomi salmon.
The Kalua pork had a nice smokey flavor, but was moist and not overcooked. Although I'm not a Lau Lau fan, hubby said it was good. He said it had nice chunks of meat and not just a bunch of leaves. The potato mac salad was good although I prefer mine with crab. Their chicken long rice had always been one of my favorties ~ chicken soup with bits of roasted chicken, long rice and green onions. The lomi salmon was tasty, diced salmon combined with diced tomatoes and a sprinkling of green onion. Oh so ono.....
Portions are generous. Service was great.....we'll definitely be back. -
Review from Lois M.
This is a real hole in the wall, which is a good sign for Hawaiian food. Another good sign was bottles of Aloha soy sauce on the tables! We ordered the litany of standard items that are being used to rate the island foods:
Loco Moco: Hamburger patty was okay. A bit small compared to the huge serving of rice underneath. The gravy was not remarkable, and within a few minutes, it formed a 'skin' that was a bit creepy. We suspect it is not a house-made gravy; probably from a powder mix or can.
Ordered the chicken (no pork available) katsu combo with macaroni salad. Katsu was hot and crispy, and even cold, it had a nice texture and passed the bento test.
Macaroni salad: Alas, not creamy enough. It did hold up well, though, packed right next to the hot rice!
No garlic shrimp, but they did have poke: Poke was good, albeit, a bit pricy compared to what one could get from Tanioka's. Did not have all the seasoning in it, and it was a bit 'mushy'.
The place has character, and it is in the old part of Gardena. Lots of locals eating there, and the portions are pretty good. Service was attentive, but you would probably do better to get take-out and eat at home. It got pretty crowded and noisy on the Saturday we were there. -

Ok, so I used to come here a lot way back when it wasn't owned by new management. Few things I did not enjoy at this place was:
-Portions too small..not worth the price.
- We ordered 2 pieces of spam musubi which came out extremely cold as it was from the fridge. At least warm it up and act like it was freshly made!
-Mac salad was super sour.. I asked the waitress if it was bad, but she just said they add vinegar to it? Who does that? My taste buds were telling me it was spoiled.
-Chicken Long rice wasn't even the correct noodles & it barley had chicken inside.
I paid for broth and tasteless thin noodles.
-The LAU LAU! It was way too dry and no flavor. =(
- Another thing that was sad was that they were also out of lomi salmon & thats the whole reason why I came there! 2nd time this happen..minus well take it off the menu.
-I tried to give this place another chance and sorry ...
this isn't the place to get good hawaiian grind...maybe 5 years ago it was the spot
with a bunch of local people.
Spent $40 ehh not so worth it.
I suggest go to Gardena Bowl instead! -

Review from Jesse T.
I gotta tell you, location is a bit rough. A strip mall in old town gardena, the place does not pretend to be anything beyond its locale. No tourist trap here, this is the real thing. Above all the food is what everybody is here to for.
Kalbi chicken and ribs are awesome, the marinade is clean, not too salty and does not over power the meats. Cathy had the pork Lau Lau. The taro leaves leave a nice smoky flavor. One thing, while a few complain of prices, we saw decent portions, I was full after my meal. Three meals, spam masubi and a bowl of long rice soup, $44. The quality of the food is worth it.
Service is ok, while they kept our glasses full, they just didnt seem too close to the patrons. -

If you're content with your Hawaiian food being just teriyaki chicken, you don't need to bother coming down here. If you do like to try some things that you definitely can't find on an L&L menu, this place is pretty good.
Keep in mind if you're coming to eat here, that's all you're really doing... unless you're going to be shopping and frolicking in beautiful downtown Gardena - i.e. you will not be. -

My wife and I visited Bruddah's about 2PM on a Saturday. Staff was very friendly. I had the Won Ton Mein and my wife had the chicken & beef terriyaki plate. We were satisfied and would return again!

Around the Southbay, this establishment is the closest you will ever get to local food in HI. Bruddah's is very homey and similar to local mom and pop places in HI. Service is good.
Bruddah's offer a great selection and provides generous portions. I usually get the beef rib plate. Love their mac. I have had the Lau Lau which okay but that's because I am comparing to Ono's and Helena's in HI. Their chili dog plate, kalua pork is really good too. Never tried the Saimin but I intend to on my next visit.
Check this out if you are around the area. -

Don't come here looking for your typical HBBQ, the sign out front says: Bruddah's Hawaiian Foods and with it's very simple interior it's more like you're eating at someones house, they even have a real nice menu selection of authentic Hawaiian dishes.
Teriyaki Beef Plate - http://www.yelp.com/bi... The teriyaki sauce is much less sweet than at your HBBQ places and I'm sure that means less sugar so that's always a good thing, the beef was nice thick slices that were very flavorful and tender, the Mac salad was also good and very different than your HBBQ places, they have pieces of potato which gives it a different twist http://www.yelp.com/bi... 5-Stars
*Tuesday Special
Braised Short Ribs w/Gravy - http://www.yelp.com/bi... Fork tender fall off the bone meat that's so delicious, I thought the gravy could have used a little something I hit it with some salt and pepper and that did the trick for me http://www.yelp.com/bi... 4.5-Stars
*Bonus .5-Star for the HOT Hawaiian Waitress.........ALOHA -
Review from Lei B.
I've been here a couple times and have enjoyed their lau lau pork, inihaw baboy, spam musubi, and their oxtail soup. However on my last trip I was very disappointed. I ordered just the side of their tuna poke and what I got was a very small portion of poke for $10!!! (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) I felt so ripped off and it wasn't even that good. Next time I'll just buy tuna poke at Bristol Farms, it tasted way better there.
Maybe the lady put the incorrect price but I was already home when I opened my takeout box. Very sad I won't be coming back here anytime soon. Until I'm craving their inihaw baboy!Listed in: I Left My Wallet In El Segundo, B.L.A.H, Everything Gardena

Offers a great selection and provides generous portions of Hawaiian dishes..
I've had the meatloaf plate and roast pork plate.
Both are awesome dishes! both with flavorful meats and yummy gravy.
Comes with rice and mac salad.
Very home-madey and delicious, compared to other chain-HBBQ places. -

Had their loco moco here one random weekend evening. It was dead quiet. Located in downtown Gardena, this place was like a hidden gem amongst the line of mexican markets and stores. The menu is pretty extensive with traditional Hawaiian local foods and I would definitely not mind coming back.
Loco Moco plate comes with 2 meat patties and a fried egg over rice drenched in a dark gravy sauce. It doesn't look like the ones I've had before but the taste brings me back to Waikiki. Can't go wrong with a Loco Moco. Will give it 3 stars for now. Have to come back and try something else! -

I kind of stumbled into the place driving around killing time, so i decided to check it out.
service was good
food wasn't bad
price was a bit up there but nothing too over the top.
simply i will state that if you are not used to eating hawaiian food in hawaii, you will probably give a 2 - 3 star review.... if your like me and some others, this is like the place we all would go to after school for a plate lunch. mahalo for expanding and feeding us lost hawaiians. -

I will come back again. One day.
I went here for my first time a few months and now Im hooked. I love their Hawaiian hot sauce. That stuff is AMAZING. Which reminds me of how I need to order some from Amazon.
I was brought here to try a different kind of Hawaiian bbq restaurant versus types like L&L, which I also highly am in love with. I loved the experience. It was different, I was a bit stretched out at first but then again . . most hole in the walls always have the most bomb-est food.
I can't wait to venture here again, hopefully soon. -

Mmmmmmm One thing I miss about living in the southbay is all the great hole in the wall places to find food. This is literally in the old town streets of Gardena!
Meat is sooo tender and rice is always perfect. Owners are always hospitable and when it gets packed it gets packed. The locals know where the good stuff is! -

I've been going to this place for years. It's a great hole-in-the-wall place. The food has changed a little bit, I find that the portions are not as generous as they use to be. This place is a lot tastier than L&L. Their saimin, fried noodles, kalua pork is one of the best I've had (except when I was in Hawaii).
Parking is a bit of a challenge depending on what time of the day you come. They are close on Mondays. Luckily, Kings Hawaiian (fast food) is not too far from here, if you're really dying for Hawaiian food. -

I was born and raised in Hawai'i and I deem this place legit. That's saying a lot considering that I can't really say that about any other Hawaiian food joint in SoCal.
I popped in today because I felt a little homesick and needed a nice, hot bowl of saimin. This is the only place in the LA area that I know of that matches what I can get back home, and for that, I will drive the 20 miles or more to get my fix.
The Bruddah's menu is pretty much the closest thing you'll get to Hawaiian food in SoCal. And by Hawaiian food, I don't mean the stuff you get at L&L Drive Inn. You can get traditional Hawaiian food here, which consists of lau lau (salted pork or chicken and butterfish wrapped in taro leaves and steamed), poi (mashed taro root), kalua pig (Hawaii's version of pulled pork), lomi salmon (a sort of salted salmon, tomato and onion mix) and poke (seasoned sashimi).
They also offer other local Hawai'i dishes that aren't traditionally Hawaiian, but are Asian and island-influenced and have become staple favorites for us back home. I love the saimin, beef stew, sweet and sour spareribs and loco moco (best I've had here in LA)! I can't speak for the other dishes, because I haven't tried them yet, but I will confidently recommend this place over Rutt's and King's. I will definitely recommend this place over L&L!
As others have said, this place is totally a hole-in-the-wall type of joint in a not-so-fancy part of town, but I appreciate the local vibe of it. Today, I rolled in with my sweats and slippers and didn't look too out of place. It reminds me of the small, family-run restaurants back home that always have the best food.
If you appreciate real Hawai'i food, go hungry and leave happy!Listed in: Hawaiian Kine Grinds (LA)

I hadn't eaten here for years until today. It was just like I remembered - everything was so delicious and homey.
The portions were generous enough to share family-style. My friends and I ate the inihaw ni baboy (BBQ pork with onions and tomatoes in soy sauce and vinegar), beef stew (fork tender beef in a rich gravy) and kalbi short ribs.
I am going to add this back to our restaurant rotation. -
Review from Tuan D.
O bruddah...how was it that we had just finally met? L&L has kept us away for too long. I'm willing to overlook the distance if you promise to continue giving me your delicious food at the price that will make my wallet happy. As I'm writing this, I am constantly reminded of the velvety coating of the sweet and sour glaze over tender pieces of pork spare ribs. The ribs appeared suspended in place like pieces of amber (http://www.yelp.com/bi...). Wherever there wasn't meat or bone, it was saturated with sweet and sour sauce. Let's not forget the side of stewed ginger chicken that made the whole spare ribs mixed plate a great deal at 8.95 (http://www.yelp.com/bi...).
Like a bag full of surprises, Bruddah, you amazed me once again with your Poke (http://www.yelp.com/bi...). Here I could Poke as much as I wanted without exhaustion or a pending sexual harrassment lawsuit. The whole plate was the epitome of all that is fresh, local, and raw! What an impressive sight it was with huge chunks of marinated tuna mingled with bits of scallions, sesame seeds, and onions.
You finally won me over with the Inihaw Baboy. Originally a Filipino dish (inihaw means grilled) for vinegar soy sauce marinated pork chops, your inihaw baboy had transformed into a delicacy of broiled pork strips over a bed of grilled onions soaked in a pool of vinegar soy sauce garnished with fresh tomatoes (http://www.yelp.com/bi...). The Hawaiianization could not have turned out for the better, especially with mammoth lunch portion.
And you showered us with your most hospitable service. I'm beginning to understand why the locals here love you as much as I do. To us, you're the best thing that has happened since sliced bread.
QUICK TIP: For the month of Februrary '11, everything is $1 off the menu and the Loco Moco is only $5.95. That makes the sweet n' sour mixed plate only $7.95!!Listed in: An International Affair

Me, my dad, and bro when here for lunch because we have a $25 off $35 dollar gift certificate. I have been to many Hawaiian restaurants so I may have a little bias.
+ The waiter was nice and helpful.
+ Food was ok
- Food was a bit expensive even with gift certificate we sill payed $22 dollar that $47 dollar plus tip and tax for 3 plates of beef and chicken kalbi.
- Portion is the smallest of all the Hawaiian restaurant I have been to especially for a $12 plate of food.
-I have black burned and uncook meat on my plate. This normal for a Hawaiian restaurant
-Location is a bit shady and my utensil was a bit dirty
-This probably one of the lesser satisfying Hawaiian restaurant I have been to. -

Los Angeles, CA
This is a decent little Hawaiian place to go eat at in the area. I end up having dinner here today and this place is pretty good. I have to say its good as Rutt Hut in Culver City.
I ended up getting the 3 omelet special which came with two scoops of rice and a toasted Hawaiian bread with butter. I ended up getting the spam, onion and Portuguese sausage mix. This was a pretty good plate for all just $8.95. Now that's value for decent food.
Only negative part is that the business close pretty early on the Gardena boulevard strip which has the potential to be a vibrant little area. It does have a little bit of character to it. So if they're open a little bit later than there's potential to pick up the later dinner crowd. -

Finding good Hawaiian food is a rarity. After reading some of glowing reviews about Bruddah's, I decided to check this place at. Well I did and probably won't be returning there anytime soon. Ordered the Pork Lau Lau and Poke. The Lau Lau was dry and bland. The Poke was too salty and was missing some key ingredients. I tried some of my friend's Beef Short Rib Stew and Spam Musubi which was okay. Also their poi was not fresh. The service is seriously lacking, never got a single refill on our ice teas (the waitress took our cups and never returned with our refills) and I had to walk up to the front just to ask for the check. Overall, you're better off eating someplace else that serves better quality food even if you have to pay a bit more for it.

Prices aren't bad for this place. I think i got my kalua for about 8-9 dollars. But in all honesty, from all the reviews i read, this place didn't read my standards. Their food was alright. Not extraordinary. Not terrible.
Their portions aren't that big, but i guess that's not a big deal. We here in the US have major portion distortion anyway. hahaha
The kalua was a little salty for my taste, but then again, it is supposed to be a little salty? Our server/waitress was very kind and helpful -

What happened to the portions? It's like they're twice as small now and the scoops of rice are the same size as the scoop they use for the macaroni. This was my favorite place to eat 7 years ago but I don't know what happened. It's like the sizes shrunk but the prices went way up. The pork lau lau was nice and juicy the last time I went but sometimes it can be dry too. Their butterfish used to be my favorite but $12.95? I can't afford to come here anymore...lol.

Pico Rivera, CA
My Uncle is from Hawaii and is particular about his Hawaiian food, so when he mentioned that this place was good, I had to see for myself.
He was right! It was delicious. I ordered the Lau Lau and it's the best I've had on the mainland. A plate of it with rice and macaroni salad will set you back about $15 but it's worth it. I can probably eat 3 of them in one sitting.
As noted, the place is located in the ghetto. When you enter, it actually does give you the impression that you are in Hawaii. It's a ramshackle joint with no air conditioning. The owners was even walking around with a flower skirt, flip flops, and a flower in her hair. -

Finally made it out to Bruddah's after disappointment after disappointment, looking for decent Hawaiian style food in Southern California.
Anna and I split a Saimin w/Won Ton and I ordered a Chicken/Kalbi combo. I contemplated getting a side of Poke but we ended up getting two side of Spam Musubi.
The Musubi was great - a little too much rice for my liking but nevertheless, good size for an appetizer unlike some of the miniature portions other places serve for twice the price.
The Saimin was full of flavor with lots of Char Siu and Won Tons. Again, other places call their dish "Won Ton" and then you find two pieces. See the pattern yet?
The combo came with a side of Mac salad, two scoops of rice, two pieces each of Chicken and Kalbi. The meats were cooked just right, a little salty but it didn't bother me as salt is one of the food groups in Hawaii, right? The salad was of the healthy variety compared to other places where there's so much mayo that by just looking at it, you can feel your arteries clogging.
The place is small and simple. No frills or or anything fancy. It's about the food and it's great as well as their pricing. -

A million times better than L&L's Hawaiian food that's for sure! Very small venue but huge and delicious portions! I highly highly recommend the beef short ribs (the meat falls right off the bone!) or the Inihaw baboy with raw onions. Each order comes with two scoops of rice and a scoop of macaroni salad. I'm usually not a big fan of macaroni salad, but I love their theirs because it's not too tarty or mayonaisey hehe :) The owners are such sweethearts and they have a wonderful selection of hawaiian beverages to choose from. I love the guava juice or the mango juice with my meals. Always satisfying and inexpensive.. two things I love when it comes to eating restaurant food!

We ordered the kalbi combo plate ($13.95) and the pork lau lau ($8.95) & upgraded the rice for chow funn.
The pork lau lau was alright...i've had better. The menu listed the pork lau lau to have butterfish in it but my lau lau didn't have ANY trace of fish (the best part!!) :(
The kalbi was NOT worth $14. It was simply 4 small short ribs and some pieces were definitely burnt. Also, the meat was EXTREMELY chewy. Not tender as some good kalbi are....
The chow funn was a MAJOR disappointment. Although it was savory, the noodles were really stale (hard rice noodles = argh).
doubtful i'll be back :( -
Review from Erica J.
Melt in your mouth good comfort food! I order the Pork Lau Lau plate, which is so tender and perfectly cooked that I can't keep from cleaning plate. I always try to order other things off the menu, and I used to want the Pupu Platter with a bit of everything, but I know I can't eat that much. Everything is good here though.
Reminds me of Masu's, back when it was open in Honolulu. Simple tables and chairs, no flashy decor, almost like an old school diner or cafeteria. The focus is on the food, and with one bite of whatever you ordered, nothing else will matter to you either.
Come for breakfast, stay for lunch. Just come hungry! I just wish there was parking for more than one hour on the street. At least there's parking though.
The place is small, so don't crowd out the locals who go there with too large a group. Tables of 2-4 people are the norm every time I've been.
Entree plates come with two scoops of white rice, a scoop of macaroni salad, and the entree, for around $8.95. A la carte entrees come a little cheaper. -

Had a Saturday's dinner search for some Loco Moco brought us to Bruddah's Hawaiian Foods. Located in what i guess you what you would call downtown Gardena next some Mexican markets, and dive bars. The place has a no-nonsense style, meaning no bamboo frames or cheesy hawaiian nicknack.
Lots of traditional foods. I need to come back when its not so dead to hopefully get a better experience. -

Alright. I am here to review Bruddah's Hawaiian Foods. Lets get this out first, I live in Hawaii, but yes, there are times when I go to California and eat local food. Why you ask? I guess it is because they have really good food here.
I just went here in the beginning of March and I could see that they did some renovations. My cousin knows the owner so he told me that a couple of things were done to improve the decor.
The menu is pretty straight forward, and if you don't know what to order, I am more than sure that the server will be happy to oblige. If you do happen to go here though, go on a Wednesday. The special of that day is beef stew. Probably my favorite item that they have. The stew is very good, but the meat they use is awesome. Super tender and very tasty!I know it's not Hawaii, but this stew competes with some of the best from Hawaii. The breakfast is also good, very tasty and they have one of my favorites which is spam. Any restaurant that serves spam for breakfast is OK by me. You may think that I have low standards, but me being part Samoan, that stuff is like steak to me!
Anyway, if you want to go to a nice place to hang out, get a good meal, talk story and see pictures of Hawaii, come here. The food is really good, and make sure you try the Beef Stew on Wednesday. -
Review from Duke C.
Ah man, I want to like this place so much but it's not for me.
Came here for lunch and it was somewhat empty. It's a really simple place, and a fairly big menu in terms of home-style Hawaiian food. Decided to go with teriyaki chicken & beef since that's sort of my default. Chicken was pretty good but the beef was a little odd. Not really grilled or anything, the texture was really soft. As for the sauce, it's... average as well. You can taste the ginger but not for me.
Also got to try a little bit of the beef stew. Sweet & sour, which was a little too heavy for me. Extremely tender though. It came with a side of stewed chicken as well, and that was my favorite thing. Meat was falling off the bone and there's chicken skin! Juicy and flavorful.
The spam musubi was the biggest downer. Not much going on for the sauce, which is pretty important IMO for musubi.
All in all, if you grew up eating this sort of food, you would love this down-to-earth little restaurant. I think I am much more accustomed to the "California" Hawaiian food rather than true Hawaiian. -

Redondo Beach, CA
Came here today for a lunch date and it is delicious Hawaiian food. We got Loco Moco (rice with burger on top with 2 over easy eggs topped with brown gravy) aka cholesterol killer, and a beef stew thing, and spam musubi. Everything was tasty, fattening and cheap. My beef stew was bordering a little salty. I don't know what is considered good Hawaiian food, so it was okay for me overall. I wouldn't be able to handle this kind of food daily though, too heavy.
Service/ Environment: waitress was very attentive. The area this restaurant is located in is in a very ghetto location. I was sitting in my car right in front of the place waiting for my date and a homeless guy came up to my car and asked for spare change. This was in the middle of the day. Kind of awkward and not comfortable. I would not feel comfortable to drive here at night... but maybe I'm just a chicken. -

What we got:
1. Loco Moco($5.95 to celebrate their 20th anniversary)
2. Kalua Nachos($4.95): Kalua pork over chips with Nacho Cheese Sauce...yum!
3. Chicken Teriyaki Bowl($4.95): This was just Teriyaki Chicken on a plate over rice.
All in all pretty gosh darn good. The best loco moco I have had other than in Oahu and the Kalua Nachos were different. The Chicken Teriyaki Bowl was sorta questionable as far as size and the way it was served but the taste and sauce to chicken ratio was on point.

What's up Bruddah!? I found this place on yelp sometime ago and I saw a pic of the loco moco which had burger patties topped with tons of beef gravy. So I booked marked it and saved it for a Saturday nite feast for later on.
Came Saturday and at first it was kinda hard to find this place, we drove this strip twice that night because it was hidden to us, it was dark, parking wasn't well lit, Bruddah's resto sign was not on, plus I think there was a palm tree or pole right in front of this place ( not to sure ) most likely a palm tree because it's hawaiian here right? but anyways It was hard to see.
Fast forward to food: the Loco Moco was A-OK beefy, dense, full of gravy and that's how it should be done. Now back to the gravy I thought the gravy tasted a lil' on the cheap side or a tad watered down, I'm not hating or anything, I had a good meal but I expected the gravy being rich in taste, don't get me wrong there was so much brown gravy on my plate still the taste experience came short.
To me it's whats in the gravy that makes it taste better and how rich it is because hamburger meat can just be plain with no seasoning. I even added aloha soy sauce into it , it help abit in the taste dept. but doesn't mesh well to get satisfied tottally. I finished my plate, i wish I had ordered another scoop of rice with that to balance out how much meat I had from that loco moco.
I love Hawaiian food and you get that here, maybe I"ll comeback to tryout their spam dishes. Plus our waitress was cool she gave my gf a sample of some Poi to tryout and if your not sure what that is it's smashed up taro and if that doesn't give you enough details bruddah! then wiki it.
