First time there everything looks and sounds so good and I imagine it is. I ordered the half pepper steak sandwich. It has jalapeño's and onions. Got the combo with fries and a drink came to $9.75 with tax, but there are lunch and dinner specials which looked very reasonable. No complaints though very delicious.

Let me start by saying I am not a cheesesteak expert.  Not even close.  But of the few I've had, Bruchi's might be my favorite, for the actual cheesesteak.

Service was decent, it's an order at the counter joint, and here's what we tried:

Regular Cheesesteak -- tasty, they didn't skimp on the steak part but seemed to a little bit on the cheese part.  If there's going to be skimp on a sandwich, that's the preferred way to do it!

Italian Cold Sub -- done with a Caesar dressing (I prefer oil & vinegar but don't ask me which one is correct Italian) -- a good amount of fillings, including a slice of ham on top of the sandwich, kind of like a sandwich blanket?  It didn't want to stay put.

Onion rings -- not bad, not great, pretty much sums up as nothing special to see here folks, move along...

I'll give them another try when I'm in the area.  They have a decent sized menu to work through -- ooh plus their menu had Halibut Fish Tacos that will have to get added to my Fish Taco quest...to be continued!

Portland Foodie Expedition Day 2 - Lunch

I am actually being a little lenient on this rating because it's really more like a 3.5 experience, but I'll round up!

First off the service was awesome. The gal helping us was so incredibly nice, helpful, patient, and bubbly (yeah I said bubbly!) So right off the bat my equanimity has escalated and I can focus on what kind of sammie I'd like to nosh on.

I decided on the Bacon Cheddar Cheesesteak on White: http://www.yelp.com/bi... which has Thin slices of steak, grilled onions, bacon bits and cheddar cheese. The very first thing I noticed was how incredibly soft the bread was. Oh my gosh this stuff was fluffy and yet held up perfectly amongst all the ingredients. They use real bacon to make their bacon bits as opposed to cheaping out on the fake stuff, the onions were nicely sauteed, and the meat while pretty good could have benefited from a bit more seasoning. The meat was juicy enough to be enjoyable while not soaking through the bread and all over me!

We also got a side of their Chili Cheese Fries: http://www.yelp.com/bi... which are lightly battered fries that add to a really nice crunch on the outside and sealing in the hot soft center. I loved their fries and those who read my reviews consistently know that I'm not much of a French Fry person. The chili was another story though. I didn't really care for it at all. It was very thin and tasted kind of like Campbell's Tomato Soup (which I do like), but was very off putting. My mom and I both had the same response to the chili. So lesson here...definitely get the fries, but forget the chili!!!

This is a fairly new chain of Sandwich restaurants that started in the Spokane area, so if you haven't tried them out yet then yes definitely go check them out! They also have coloring books for the kids: http://www.yelp.com/bi...

I've tried a lot of cheesesteaks, including both Pat's and Geno's in Philly, and this is right up there. Can't wait to go back and have another!

The only place I can't skip when I'm in town. The Western is to die for I crave it for weeks once I've left to go back to So. Cal. I love you Bruchis!

I'm not a Philly/east coast native, but I do enjoy a good cheesesteak, usually try a couple of places in all the new towns I visit.  Bruchi's is something of a disappointment - way too much bread, meat/mix lacks flavor and zest.  Service was fast.

The sandwiches are delicious. The steak sandwich was filled with steak and delicious sauce.  The cold combo sandwich was meaty, seasoned and delicious. The large sandwiches are more than I can eat at one sitting.  The staff is friendly and helpful.  They offer various bottled beverages
