This place is amazing!
First of all, this place is very easy to find. unlike many other small shops, this one is huge and right next to the Los Gatos Blvd, you can't miss it.
And their crew are very professional, they know cars and they know how to do it right.
I have a Porsche and love it so much. So i am very cautious about the places i go. I am visiting my girlfriend's family here for a couple weeks so that i don't have any knowledge about the shops in town. Like many all you guys i go online and do some research, and this is the place i found. I was a little bit hesitate at the beginning, but BRracing leave me a very memorable experience.
Majority of the vehicles in their lot is Porsche, BMW, Mercedes and Audi. So i had a good impression already.
My car burn engine oil so i need to add some engine oil once a while. And almost every shop i went, they have no idea how much to add and how to check the oil level because everything is digital on my car. So i have to look it up on my user's manual. Surprisingly, BRracing guy know exactly what to do and finish within 5 mins. And they charge nothing. My car fulfilled with one bottle of mobile 1 full synthetic oil for free. It was a wonderful experience i had today.
Five star recommendation for sure!!! -

Awesome service! 100% attentive to detail. If you don't miss a thing when it comes to your ride, you'll not be disappointed here. They will take the time to work with you and address everyone of your "motorsport needs and wants". I took my C4S to get my HRE wheels refinished. They handled the entire process, and 3 weeks later (or so) I have a set of "sick" flat black HRE wheels, perfectly mounted, no scratches, no surprises.
THANK YOU Robb and Bruce! -

I'm really excited I called around and compared-these guys called me back and were very patient and understanding that I was cost-sensitive and needed a lot of work done on my car. So far, they seem really honest and ethical. He was straight about what needed to be done and when, and how much it would all cost. With Bruce's expertise he was able to discern what things needed attn immediately and what could wait due to lack of resources.

This place is truly awesome!!! I went to 3 three different BMW dealerships (one visit involved a BMW engineer) to try and figure out why my car continuously pulled to the right. This involved me paying for an alignment during 2 out of the 3 visits. However, despite all my efforts, BMW decided to close my issue out as "normal vehicle operation". Now comes the turning point, I ended up taking my car to BR Racing hoping they could help. Well, my prayers were answered!!! Rob and Bruce treated me like a valued customer....Bruce even drove me to work after I dropped my car off!!!! Furthermore, they concluded that 3 out of the 4 alignment bolts hadn't been touched, which means none of the dealerships actually made an attempt to align my car!!! In any case, BR aligned the car to proper specs and now it drives great!! I can't thank them enough. Trust me when I say this: skip the dealership and come here (even if you are still under warranty)

BR Racing - simply the Best place to get job done for any performance car.
I had great experience with Bruce who took care of my 1978 911sc after unfortunate curb hitting incident. Not only people at BR Racing super professionals with great skills they also willing to help and reasonable. Again this place just amazing and I highly recommend anyone who needs great quality and honest work.
Thank You Bruce and your BR team...!!! -

My BMW 540 had an electrical problem that was misdiagnosed by 2 previous shops. One of which was a trusted engine builder of mine and the other shop being BMW of Fremont.
In any case, without much previous information from the other shops, BRracing took my car, diagnosed in 1 day and had it completely fixed the next day!! Two months out and the car is experiencing no electrical problems. These guys are the experts and will now always be my goto choice for repairs and maintenance.
Robb and Bruce are straight shooters and always get right to the point. No fluff and I really appreciate that.
Another plus is if you are a car guy, there is always a car lot full of eye candy! -

HONEST SERVICE!
I have taken my BMW in here twice, both times I was absolutely amazed and thrilled with the outcome. The first time I called on an evening just as they were closing and described the problem (I know nothing about cars) and Bruce said he knew just what the problem was- bring it in and he should have it fixed the next morning. He was right, he did and he charged me only a half hour labor and the part.
The second time my convertible top was not functioning, hadn't been for a few weeks and this seems to be a very sensitive area for convertibles. Robb talked to me and explained the possible issues we may run up against as they looked for the problem (which was not occurring every single time).
I am excited to say that they found the problem, fixed it and it took only a few hours. They could have told me it took all day, and I would not have known any better. I trust them, they are a shop with integrity.
My husband brings his car (mini) here and my son will be bringing his new Volkswagen GTI in when he needs to! -

Figured I'd update my review as it's been over 2 years since my first review and BR Racing has grown up... a lot.
Physically, they now occupy 3 garages on-site and an office / reception area. As a business, they are truly full-service. They stored and cared for my car for over a year while I was living in Europe, and I wouldn't have done it any other way. The car was kept covered, clean, battery charged, etc at a climate-controlled offsite storage area. I even sent my parents by to have the timing belt done on their Allroad, and they did it better and at a fraction of the cost of the dealer.
I've also been back for a few more toys since I've been back, and BRR doesn't fail to satisfy with their quality work, consultation, and breadth of service. Today, they can do everything from powdercoating to mounting and balancing to custom fabrication. The possibilities are limitless. Customer service has kicked up a notch, and my emails are responded to quickly and efficiently.
Thanks guys for continuing to provide the quality personalized service even for your 'smaller' customers. Keep it up.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Had them install a set of coilovers and exhaust on one of my cars.
They provided one of the more competitive quotes for the installation and when talking with Bruce on the phone, he knew what he was talking about. He didn't try to put me together about how the car is much harder to work on like other shops did. Straight to the point and the shop provided the work to my satisfaction. -

EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE. I've brought my cars exclusively to BR Racing for years. I skip the dealership because I know BR will take care of everything I need. BR stands out from other shops by providing amazing service, genuine advice, and reasonable prices.
What makes BR special? Personalized attention. Bruce, Rob and their team will treat you as a valued customer and not as another appointment on the calendar. Technical competence. The BR team hires the best mechanics, and they've solved every problem I've thrown at them. Competitive prices. BR chooses to invest in customers for the long term, and their focus on relationships proves this.
Don't hesitate; visit BR and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed. -
Review from Chris D.
Too many bad stories from my friends who have gone here in the past. I'll admit that I went here for a few items to get worked on, but after hearing all the stories and seeing the high school aged "technicians" working on a midpipe swap (I swear the car was about to fall off the lift), I decided to never bring my car here.
They do have great prices, but compared to other shops in the bay, it's not that great of a deal. Bring your car to another shop that has more experience under it's belt. -
Review from Lorrie M.
It has come to my attention that many people have a very skewed view of BR Racing. I typically don't take things personally with businesses or restaurants because I know sometimes people drop the ball. However, this is pretty personal as I did have a personal experience with BR Racing and have several other close to personal experiences where either I, or someone I know, had to help rectify a problem that BR Racing has created.
First of all, I find that the business practice of giving someone 10% off of labor for a positive review on a forum and/or a review site to be questionable in nature because this means that there's a monetarily incentive in these reviews. This hardly makes it an unbias review on the part of the reviewer. Everyone wants to save money when it comes to cars, after all.
What you don't see is many tons of bad experiences from people who have previously reviewed them with five stars only to realize later on that they are one star worthy but are too shameful to speak of the update as they feel like they were jipped of their time, money and a good word.
My personal experience(s) include having BR Racing do a Powerflex RTAB (rear trailing arm bushing) install and alignment as well as doing a fender rolling and some minor coilover adjustments.
As for the RTAB, yes they went in and so far no issues although I may break down one day on the freeway and not even know why like my friend did after they installed his coilovers and charged him doubly for some camber plates he did not need. However, the alignment was off, and when I took the car back for a revision, they "measured" it and said it was fine. What wasn't fine was that there was hard evidence the alignment was not done correctly. My tires began wearing unevenly on the inside and one section actually went bald, but only on one side of one wheel. This does not sound like proper alignment to me considering I got BRAND NEW tires only 4 months prior with a proper alignment from BMW when I purchased the car under CPO.
My second experience was getting my fenders rolled. I ended up getting charged for some work that later on, MANY other M3 owners told me was not done. Reason is that there's really only one way to roll a fender, and it's either rolled or not. Despite having paid for the work, mine are not "rolled" as indicated by physical evidence between differences of several other cars versus mine. This in itself is unacceptable because it is like paying for work that you didn't get done.
After my experiences and hearing several of my close friends' experiences with them, I USED to recommend them, but not anymore. I would not hesitate to pay more for legitimate practices and good work and I would never go back.
-- I forgot to mention, one guy who took off my wheels at BR Racing dropped a lug nut onto my polished iForged Daytona wheels and caused a huge scratch, no word or compensation from BR Racing. -

I've been going to these guys for about a year and a half for stuff like detailing and minor repairs on my Subaru and my BMW. I haven't had them do any of their serious tuning on either car but all my experiences with them have been good; they do great work and are always flexible so I don't need to build my schedule around them too much. The only downside is that I pretty much feel like a scrub compared to the exotics they always have around their lot.

San Jose, CA
These guys are the best, I went in to have my E39 cooling system looked at in hopes that I could put off an overhaul for another few months, but sadly my fears were correct and I needed a new radiator and t-stat housing. I was planning to do the overhaul myself, but BR hooked me up and did a complete overhaul of the system for a good price, and I did not have to buy a bunch of new tools for the fan removal. By far the best experience I have ever had at a shop. I usually fix my own cars, but I don't have much time the older I get, I think I have finally found a shop that I trust will not rip me off and gets the job done right.
Don't listen to the smear campaign by some of the other reviewers on yelp or forums that are moderated by the exact same people, BR Racing is a great shop. Some people are only happy when they are being jerks, and I quote from another reviewer, "I had my RTABs done and everything is fine, but I might break down someday after driving like a girl and it will be BR's fault and not the fact that I drive around a slammed M3 on 101". If I had a dollar for every BMW owner that drives like an ass I would be a rich man. BR Racing is a great shop, if they mess up I will change my review, but I trust the guys there would make it right before that would happen. -
Review from Jon G.
Los Gatos, CA
I'm not at all surprised that there are a truckload of 5-star reviews here. BR Racing is a quality shop. I'm not sure what the other reviewers meant with regards to unprofessional looking guys working on cars or bad customer service.
The guys in the shop itself are super-friendly, and the shop floor is MOPPED every day, just like the dealership. These guys are meticulous about keeping a top-notch shop. And as for customer service, they are at the top of their game. Bruce and Rob respond to emails within an hour or two, and they'll even use gchat to IM you. A mechanic that will respond to an IM! Rad.
As for their work, I've been very happy with its quality and its cost. I'm a price-sensitive kind of guy, and these guys respect and work with that. I recently had an Inspection I done on my 2000 328 and it came back feeling buttery smooth again, and they didn't neglect to tighten up my parking brake that had become loose over the years (granted that's part of the scope of an Inspection I...). They've replaced two window regulators (fellow E46 owners know my pain...) and their price is the best in the south bay.
I did have a bit of a nervous experience a week after the Inspection I, when I needed to replace a good deal of my cooling system; I said to myself, ok, this is kind of suspicious. They work on my car and then my car needs more work! Then a couple weeks after the cooling system I had to bring it in again for an oil pressure sensor! But the thing is, the sensor is in the bottom of the oil pan. Why would they have spent time going to the bottom of my oil pan just to get more money out of me?
The thing is, my car is 10 years old and it's a BMW...things are going to start going wrong, even in clusters like this. I'm 99% sure that these were legitimate problems, but I'll come back and revise my review if I find out otherwise.
Bruce and Rob are father and son. How cool is that, a family auto shop! Call these guys up or shoot them an email...you'll get the message right away that they're interested in being the mechanic that you can trust to get it right! -

The guys at BRR are great. More than what I had expected. I hesitated at first since they were a good 1.5 hours drive from Vallejo. I heard about them thru a car forum and I thought to myself WTF do BMW guys know about Audis? Well, they knew enough to get the job done!
I came in for rear rotors, rear pads, tranny service, and front CV boot. They have a customer lounge seperated within the the shop w/ a nice flat screen, wi-fi, magazines galore, etc...
I wish these guys were closer now that im out of warranty =( which by the way isnt an Audi anymore. Yup, im in a BMW and so far im lovin it as you can tell in my pics. Hopefully it wont be to long before I can get down to BRR for some work!
Location was key as well. I was able to grab lunch, get my toes and nails done (yes, I get minicures and pedicures MF'er). What they need is an XBOX or PS3 =)
Bruce, Robb, Walter... you guys ROCK!!!

I have a 2004 M3 and have had my oil changed and tires replaced by BRRacing. Both experiences were great, and Walter even set up Forza 2 for me while I was waiting.
Fair prices and great customer service make this THE place I will go to get my work done. The dealership charges 2x as much for most of this stuff!!! -

Very thorough. Lots of prep for a "standard" service on my Audi A4. It's a low-mileage 6-speed that I love. I was planning on taking it to be detailed (my 2 dogs have "trashed" the back seat) elsewhere after the service but found out that I could get a complete cleaning inside & out by a guy who contracts with them. So a longer wait than I had scheduled but I drove away with a serviced and detailed car.
I like not going thru a dealer and went to them based on the Yelp reviews. I was not disappointed and was happy to find someone who specializes in German cars. This place is quiet, low-key and professional. I liked being able to set up the appt and get a quote via email. The waiting area is comfortable and clean for being inside a garage.
The only challenge is finding them - they're in the far corner of the Wheel Works and Precision Auto building on Los Gatos Blvd. Note that they are within walking distance of Erik's Deli and a pizza place. -

Ok so my previous review stands. As I've continued to go to BR I've received nothing but excellent service. Every time I want something done I send an email describing what I have in mind and shortly thereafter they send me a detailed estimate for the services. Even when I mentioned some discounts I can get on my own they allow me to send the parts to them even if I am getting them on my own. If I find a lower price they do allow me to bring in the other estimate and they try to match it if possible.
Also, since I saw the 1 star review below, I have to say I was never offered a discount for posting a review. Other friends who go here haven't had that experience either. Given I've been going here exclusively for over a year now it's a little hard to believe.
Regardless, this is my personal, un-biased experience here. Just felt that there was some merit in mentioning that there was -at least for me- no incentive to post a good review.
I'll be going back within the next month or so to do a T-belt change and to install some new rims and tires. If anything worthy of making me change my point of view happens I will be sure to share it be it good or bad.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever seen. They're liars just to get you to do business there. Had an all around awesome experience. Being a car enthusiast, this place was like being a kid in a candy store. I could have spent all day drueling on the wide range of exotic and heavily modded cars. Robb and Bruce were extremely helpful and down to earth people. They are both extremely knowledgeable about the cars and the different services they have available. Very friendly and professional environment. Highly recommend this shop.

So back in mid-2007 I had my springs, shocks, and rear shock mounts installed on my 2001 M3. My car ended up being a bit too low and rubbed in the rear so they had to roll my rear fenders. I agreed to that and paid for that on top of the install. I thought all was good until I had others point out my fenders were barely rolled. I figure what was done was done, there was nothing I could do and I left it at that.
Fast foward to 2009 - I switch to a wider set of wheels/tires and the wheels would rub more on one side than the other due to an incomplete fender roll. Of course being really upset and annoyed at this, anytime the name BR Racing came up on the forums I would describe my displeasure with my fender roll service. Walter finds one of my posts and sends me an e-mail saying BR Racing will fix whatever issues I had with my car free of charge. They said had I gave them a call (even 2 years later) they would warranty ALL of their work. Now this is top notch customer service! I went back, they fixed my fender roll perfectly and now I can drive with my 19x10.5 rear wheels with no rubbing.
Honestly I'm not used to a shop backing their work, I've been to plenty of shops with my past cars and they have always never accepted any responsibility for bad work. This is where BR Racing differentiates themselves from others - they will go out of their way to make sure the customer is satisfied 110% and make things right. -

Found out about BR from Yelp and tons of other research. I am so glad that I went to BR.
I brought my 2009 E350 for an upgrade, after comparing the knowledge and prices for the equivalent work at other local shops.
I found BR to professionals, with excellent customer service, a well-designed/maintained facility who took pride in their work and treated my satisfaction as if it were the most important thing in the world.
To top it all off, they provided a warranty for the work done, which was a very pleasant surprise.
I dealt with Walter who was great, but I did talk with everyone else there while i was waiting for my work to be done. They were all equally as nice and customer service oriented. -

A really LONG belated review...all of this was done in July of 2009 but they've left an unforgettable experience for me. Though I don't have my E46 M3 anymore, I will recommend my buddies to this place and I'll definitely come back when I have my E90 M3 :).
Robb: 5 stars
Bruce: 5 stars
Walter: 5 stars
Technician brothers: 10 stars
Cleanliness: 5 stars
Professionalism: 5 stars
Customer Service: 5 stars
Dealing with grumpy waiting customers: 5 stars (they offered me pizza and soda while I waited, though I wasn't hungry, the gesture got them 5 stars)
Technicians: 5 stars (for the two brothers, I forgot their names)
I had made an appointment but had to cancel it due to work related issues, so I emailed Robb and apologized but could come in the next day, Robb immediately emailed me back and said "Come on in!" Thank you for squeezing me in, I really appreciated that. Thank you!
Robb and I emailed back and forth so that we were both clear on what work needed to be done, he was very clear and precise and DID NOT push me into coming in until I was 100% sure of what was to be worked on. I also wanted to install mycarr angel eyes which I had bought from the forums, but Robb suggested that I should try theirs instead because it was much brighter and clearer, usually when businesses suggests something I get a bit skeptical but Robb made it very comfortable and did not push. He was also very honest because his light technician was out this day so instead of me having to come back multiple times, he suggested that I bring the car in on the weekend so that everything could be done the same day. Thank you!
We had a big problem with the fitting of the Vorsteiner hood because it was a DWP and wouldn't fit perfectly. The technicians (two brothers) were very patient and did not rush. They asked a lot of questions and tried almost every angle. They were very young but being able to push aside their pride and ask for help was very admirable to me. I worked in the Psychology field so It's not difficult for me to sense lies or deception but these two kids were very genuine and love the work they do. They allowed me to wander the work space and watch everything they did which was very nice even though I could have been a liability. We eventually had to cut off some of the trimming to fit the hood, they kept asking me and making sure that I was ok with it (5 stars for asking) and both Bruce and Robb spent probably 20 mins each out there to make sure it was done right (5 stars). At the same time, Walter started working on the angel eyes...installed my Mycarr and their version for comparison, I went with theirs instantly, BIG DIFFERENCE (5 stars for installing both for me to see). Towards the end, I was looking at my front signal lights and got annoyed with em because now my headlights are matching the angels and the yellow signals became so ugly...:( I asked Walter if he could switch them, he said he didn't have any but would run out to get them, 10 mins later he returned with new bulbs and installed them (5 stars). At the last minute, I decided to wanted the BRRacing stickers on my windshield hahaha, they gave it to me for free and stuck them on BUT the techs were having some difficulties aligning it right and to my surprise Bruce came out and did the job, after it was placed on we realize that there were air bubbles popping up all over, Bruce spent the next 15 mins leveling every single bubble (10 stars for anal retentive-ness) haha. I could go on, but I've said enough.
Also new springs, tires, alignment, ect....the list goes on...
Oh and Robb offered me Pizza and Soda while I waited during their lunch break, though I wasn't hungry, the thought deserved 5 stars.
Thank you. You guys truly are a one of a kind shop. -

So I have a 4.2 Audi B6 S4 Cabriolet, they did an upgrade for me and the provider had some issues, but Rob and team went way above to make sure I was happy and fought on my behalf to resolve the software glitch. Not only that, but they even took care of a rental car for me. These guys are rock solid and the only place I will take my Audi for service. Clean shop, good business ethics and honesty-that is what you want from a shop that takes care of high end German cars. I highly recommend these guys if you love your car and want to make sure it is taken care of by people who share the same passion as you do-these are the guys.

BR Racing has been there for my son and me ever since our mini cooper days. My son now has a M3 and I have a 996 TT.
Just to give an example of how great they are, after replacing my transmission in my 996 TT we were forced to take it to another shop since BR didn't have the equipment at the time to diagnose the problem. After picking the car up I found out after the repair was done someone failed to replace the rear bumper properly and it came apart while driving on the freeway home from the other shop. The other shop refused to take the blame so BR stepped up to the plate and took care of the damages even when it was not their fault!!
I'm happy to say that there success hasn't gone to there heads, Bruce and Rob both just don't throw your money away just because you want to have a quality car. They have always been fair with the bill and have always looked out for us and tried to get us the most bang for the buck.
They treat customers more like family taking time to explain why work needs to be done or if you're looking for performance what works best for your car.
Now I find out they are sponsoring track day at Thunderhill for Prostate cancer. That's just a sample of what kid of people they are and that says it all!!
Thanks Bruce and Rob !!! -

Bruce and Robb are very knowledgeable about cars. They are not the cheapest as they claim or as some say but they know the stuff. My only problem with them is that they sometimes are too busy so they don't answer email as quickly or even as often as I'd like.
One thing though is that they are honest in that they'll tell you that they need to prepare for races so they can't work on customer cars, which I totally respect. You can do a lot worse than coming to BR. -

First time at this shop and I'm a happy camper! Brought in my car, '98 BMW Z3, limping and left with all smiles! The folks there know this car. I was very pleased with the time that was spent with me going over the diagnostic results, and planning the repairs. I would definitely return to have my car worked on again. These are professional folks doing a superb job! Thanks, my girl is feeling racy again!

I've started to take my BMW to BRRacing for repair work. I found out about BRRacing through a web forum (http://www.e46fanatics...). They consistently earn high praise and reviews in European automotive forums.
The entire staff and management at BRRacing are very friendly, accommodating and professional. My experience here has been nothing less then great. I had maintenance issues that needed attention, and they welcomed me into their shop even though I didn't come to them for racing applications.
While BRRacing out of my way, I will continue to bring my current and future European cars to them!
For those that need work done to their European cars, I strongly suggest you check out BRRacing.
Thumbs up guys! -

Found the name of this shop on the Porsche forum and it was recommended. I contacted Robb numerous times via email and he was more than helpful in answering all of my questions and offering to help me in any way. I bought AWE CATs from a forum member and I had BR Racing install them. They did a great job and more than this, Robb spent time answering all of my many questions. He showed me their various cars (I trust his knowledge b/c he owns a number of high end cars and races) and even more importantly, he was honest about what mods would actually help my car even though he sells them all. He probably ended up saving me thousands. I intend to go back for my clear bra install and if I decide to do one more engine mod, I will be going back for that as well. My highest recommendation. The place is owned and run by a father, son team and they are very professional and knowledgeable.

BRRacing is THE place to take your BMW or Mini in the Bay Area! The team at BR has done lots of fun stuff to my car, and they never cease to exceed my high expectations! They stand behind their work, are available at odd times (unlike other 8-4 type shops), very reasonably priced, and are very friendly guys to work with! Whether you need an oil change or maintenance you need, or you want a supercharger and coil over suspension, I'd highly recommend you check these guys out!

I have taken my M3 to BR Racing for a few services now -- regular maintenance service as well as aftermarket modifications to my car. From my very first visit, I found the entire BR Racing team to be very helpful and accommodating.
Bruce and Robb (the owners) are extremely knowledgeable about cars and German cars in particular. I have enjoyed some great conversations with Bruce regarding potential upgrades to my car; he always provides great information.
I have also been extremely pleased with their customer service and look forward to continuing a long-term relationship with this shop. -

I was looking for a place to replace tires on my BMW and a friend recommended me BR Racing. Went there on Saturday in the morning and got the job done very fast. I asked a couple of car related questions and got a very helpful consultation.
To be short good service for a reasonable price. -

Had front brakes and coolant sensor work done. Walter did a great job in providing explanations over the phone as to what were (and might be the issues). Gave a number of useful suggestions to fix tricky 'check' light that was coming on intermittently. In person, they provided the same level of 'personal touch' and interest and tried to diagnose some additional car problems. great experience and great work. Only challenge I had was finding the place as there is no sign and the address is the Wheel Works or something like that.
