I highly recommend anyone looking for a great brow design! Due to using Retin A finding a salon that does threading was a must and of course, then you have to find someone who is good at it! This place has it! I have had the pleasure of having two of the estheticians here work on my brows and lashes (threading, tint, and lash tint) and I give it an A+.
Threading: A+ Both stylists, while they did do my brows differently, it always came out great and even grew out nicely. Pain was a minimum, and my skin is rather sensitive. The first time, my skin was very red and irritated afterwards, but after that, it hurt less and I didn't get the same redness. Perhaps my skin got used to it? In any case, they gave me an arch which I did not have before, true artists with brows!
Lash tint & brow tint: A+ The dye was the perfect shade. Since going here I started going to another salon only due to the fact that my office moved and now driving here is quite the trip to regularly make, and I can honestly tell you I notice the difference. These ladies had my color DOWN and it was even and consistent. Even more, I noticed my lashes were getting longer and stronger while having them dyed here. I thought maybe it was a fluke but since I started going somewhere else and having them dyed, I can say that the dye fades in HALF the time that it did when I went here and my lashes are looking pretty sad. Something in the dye must condition the lashes and lasts longer. Another thing to note is that here, I never had my eyes burn, they are very thorough getting the dye off.
Hair cuts & Keratin Express treatments by Jon: Highly recommend. His cuts are very precise and he has a real knack for hair. I have a strange wave in the front of my hairline and somehow in some genius way (he explained what he was doing but I do not recall) he cut it so that the hair twisted differently. I have never had a stylist to set to get my hair to look it's best. Jon is also very verbal, he will tell you what he is doing and why before he does it and he really explains so that you know exactly. Not at all pushy, he just wants you to be on the same page and happy with the result. One thing I will mention is you will need to speak up if you only want a tiny trim off the ends, hairstylists like to cut thing after all. But, in any case, you will come out looking lovely and feeling appreciated as a client. The BKT Express I tried several times but in the end I wanted something stronger and I don't see that they offer the regular BKT which has made me look elsewhere. However, if you just want some smoothing at a very reasonable price, this is the place. Jon will take care of you. I have told all of my friends who are looking for cuts to go to him. Wonderful place, Jon is a great stylist, check him out!
Man! Writing this review has made me start to rethink, I need to come here for by brows again! -

After giving this place multiple different visits, I'm giving it four stars...barely. This review is hard to write, because I can't point out anything in particular that didn't meet my expectations. I suppose that's exactly why- they met my expectation but didn't exceed them.
The staff is friendly, although every time I've been there I had to wait. They are helpful is determining what exactly needs to happen, which is great and they are skilled at what they do.
Brows is worth a try, but I'm keeping my eyes open for someplace else. -

Alright, soooo I said I wouldn't return but I decided to give it another try because my eyebrows were looking pretty damn awful after months of neglect and I decided I had to have them done in the next three days. Brows, being in the Highlands, is also on my way to Boulder so I thought why not.
I booked with Kaela, a level 2 threader. I'm very particular about my eyebrows, and for those of you who really care about their brows too, you'll understand that you can't just go to ANYONE to do your eyebrows. It takes a real artist to do the job well. And Kaela did it really well!
Usually I hate it when I go to a salon for any reason and they tell me exactly what they're going to do for me without even asking me what I want but eyebrows are a tricky thing and you really should listen to the experts. There really is a right way. She really knew how to work with what I had.
The pricing system is honestly kind of annoying. I understand, you pay for expertise. But the level system sort of makes it seem like you're paying more for someone to definitely NOT mess up on your brows or do less of a job. And why would such a nice, highly rated salon hire anyone who does a less than perfect job? Oh well.
I'll probably come back every other time from now on, because $24 ($27-28 with tip!) is a bit much for 15 minutes of brow threading. But they look great, Kaela is very gentle and precise, and the salon experience is nice.1 Previous Review: Show all »

The eyebrow stylist at this place made my oft-uneven eyebrows, even, on the first try, which the gentleman at the front desk told me was unusual the first time with threading, Well, I have been threaded before, but I will say this is the first time I left a threading with really the same shaped eyebrows. It is expensive-$20; you can get threaded at the Cherry Creek Mall for $10, but this place is close to my house, like a stone's throw. The staff were a little, ho-hum, didn't really engage me. Apparently they have a first-timer special that is not obvious when booking online, so I would call for that. I am satisfied with the result though, so four stars it is.

Fantastic and consistent! I've been getting my brows done here for about a year--I usually see Amber, but I've seen several stylists and they've all done a perfect job. I've always been happy with the results and I'm a hard-to-please-picky-perfectionist type :) I recently moved to Aurora and went to a waxing chain near my house for convenience-big mistake as the technician ruined by brows by waxing them way too thin and giving no thought to shaping. Amber at Brows uses a combination of waxing and threading on my brows to get them perfectly shaped and I'm always happy when I leave. Brows is a little more expensive (not a ton, just a little) than most roadside salons, and in this case you definitely get what you pay for. The techs at Brows are extensively and continuously trained and I understand the owner is a perfectionist; a great quality to have when your business is all about working on faces. If you've ever had a botched brow wax, you know that paying a little more for consistent, quality work is worth every penny.
After my waxing chain botch job I went back to Amber for help. She said there wasn't a whole lot she could do besides clean my brows up a bit and wait for them to grow back, so she only charged me half price for the next two visits while the damage was undoing itself. I'll never go anywhere else! If you're trying to find your next great brow place, you've found it! -

Amber did a great job on my brow tint! (and shaping) She was patient and thorough and achieved a perfect shade of red/light brown by careful mixing. My brows look perfectly natural with my henna dyed hair.
I've been back twice and the second time she just touched up the shaping with tweezers for no charge. Nice touch. -

Before going to Brows I frequently got my brows waxed at random nail salons I went to on the weekends. Needless to say my brows were not looking so good. I work just down the street from Brows so I thought I would make an appointment and try them out. On my first visit I saw Kai. She explained what my brows should look like and helped me form a plan to get them there. I was happy with the results and I have been back 3-4 more times since then to visit Kai. I even sent my mom in to see her and my mom has been extremely happy with her results.
When I call I am always able to make a same day appointment and the receptionist is very friendly & efficient on the phone.
I have had to wait a couple times though. I try to make these appointments on my lunch breaks so waiting 20 minutes does not usually make me very happy. It seems to be a common issue.
All in all, I am happy with my experience and I will keep going back. -

I went to Amber again, but this time I didn't wait 3 years (omg.)
I was in a huge rush getting through traffic and not trying to get into an accident. I was able to call them and tell them I was running late. They worked with me and set me up for an appt about 30 minutes later.
I got there late but still had15 minutes left of my original appt. I was in and out and left feeling fantastic!

I accidentally reviewed the wrong Brows before! Here was my original message meant for this salon :)
I followed Jonathan over to Brows from the Aveda salon he was working at in Cherry Creek. He has a really interesting take on hair and the human head, as he sees it as a spherical architectural concept. He has given me the best haircuts I've ever had and I continue to see him for his unique understanding of cutting hair.
For my birthday, they gave me a free makeover and are constantly giving extra little odds and ends. The staff is incredibly nice, always offering tea and muffins and comedy. I have yet to have any other services, but am pleased by their many vegan hair products and makeup. -

I want to give this a 4 star review, but in Yelp! lingo that means, 'Yay! I am a Fan'. I am not a fan, but when I did frequent them last year, I liked them enough to go back a few times, till I found what fitted me best.
This place is in my neighbourhood, so I can walk to it in less than 2 minutes - which is amazing for a non-driver like me. And I don't have to worry about parking.
One of my first services were for eyebrows and a facial. Both of which were good. There was no product pushing.
Their website/blog is a bit old and needs to be updated. You can make online bookings which is always a plus.
I am not a fan of the service area - I like a little bit more privacy when I am getting my hairs ripped - no matter where.
Finally, I expect that if I have been to your establishment a few times, you remember my preference in wax, especially if you have been told of my sensitiveness to a certain kind.
The last time I went there, my regular aesthetician wasn't there. They should have said so when confirming the appointment the previous day, I would have rescheduled.
The aesthetician that ended up waxing me used the wrong wax. Her response to my sensitivity was that she's comfortable using this kind of wax only.
I should have left, but I really needed my eyebrows done. Not a big deal, but had a rash and redness that lasted 2 days. I have not gone back since. -

My schedule changed, so after my first visit with Michelle at Brows on Upper 15th, I needed a brow girl that worked on Saturdays, and that was Kaela. I've now been to her twice and she has been nothing short of amazing. She provides consistently excellent service, does a meticulous job of cleaning up my brows and making them look spectacular, and she is just super friendly! She has definitely listened to what I want and takes her time. I'll continue to come back to this place for my brows!

I got my brows done today by MG. 3 stars on yelp says means "A-OK" which is a pretty accurate description of my experience. She did a solid job, prices seemed a little on the high side ($20-$24 for a "shaping") and she was 20 min late for my scheduled appointment time.
I did like that I could schedule my appointment online and I love that she does both threading and waxing. My brows look good, I'm just not sure it was worth the drive across town. -

Months earlier I had called brows looking for an experienced esthetician to wax my bikini and legs. When the receptionist had no idea about any of the estheticians experience levels, I went elsewhere.
BIG MISTAKE!
I ended up at a place of broadway (which came highly recommended) but was disappointed when I ended up with ingrown hairs for months after!
I called my old esthetician in horror and she said i needed to find a place that used NUFREE, a soy based wax.
In my search, BROWS came up again, and I decided to give it a try. Every time I have gone, and I have used numerous estheticians there, they have done a great job.
This time 2nd time was a charm and they have decent prices! -

Just moved to town and was in desperate need for some brow attention. I am not a regular brow waxer normally (usually do it every couple months) but after moving and not paying any attention to my brows I needed help. Saw Amber's reviews and love supporting local businesses so decided to try her. She took so much time and really helped give me a new shape that opened up my eyes. I had no idea a brow wax could be so amazing. I'm not going to be a regular brow waxer of hers! Go see her you won't be disappointed.

I love Brows and trust their work to the point of saying little more than "do what you do" when I go in for services.
I always request Michelle G (there are two Michelles, one being the owner, and G being the other) and she does amazing things with my brows. I've seen maybe a dozen different people at various waxing places, and Michelle G does the best job of leaving a full brow while giving it a shape that's polished, but never, ever "forced." Love her work.
I also see Jon for my hair. He's amazing - going to him is like having a friend cut your hair in his living room - if that friend were amazingly superb at cutting hair. I've seen quite a few stylists that leave me feeling like just another customer, and with whom I don't have trust-inspiring "chemistry" and whom I feel don't listen - some to the point that I later got teary-eyed over my cut. Jon is awesome - willing to debate about your hair, listens to ideas and take risks but always keeps it looking natural. And he does a damn good highlight. (Shortly after I once saw Jon, my sister-in-law, who's also a stylist, eyed my hair for a good ten minutes before finally saying, "your highlights look incredible. I mean, they look REALLY good.")
Owner David is awesome, the receptionist is always friendly, and they invited my dog to chill inside with me while I had services done. Love it here. -

These folks are the shizzle when it comes to taking care of your brows. In the past I have always had my eyebrows waxed at basically whatever salon had an opening. I mean, they're not really that important, right? Wrong. The ladies here take grooming your eyebrows very seriously, and the end result is that mine looked like they should, for once. Will definitely go back!

Seriously, how much do I love Brows? This morning I went in with my grandma (two days after cataract surgery) and her sister for brow waxes.
While utterly hip women shuffled in and out, and my grandma and great-aunt oohed and ahhed over the blue toenails, yellow underwear and brow piercings of the cool women that came and left - Michelle made them feel utterly comfortable and treated them both like princesses.
Both of these women loved feeling pampered, and they both told me that they wanted to make a habit of going to get "girls spa days" as they called it. Of course, I left with amazing brows, as usual.
While Michelle is the best in the business when it comes to brows, she also has a great way of connecting with people that I really appreciate.Listed in: I can't eat it

I love love love Michelle and what she can do with my eyebrows. She is one of a few estheticians in Denver (maybe even CO) that does eyebrow threading. For those of you that don't know what eyebrow threading is, it's AMAZING and has been used for a long long time to make perfect lines when sculpting eyebrows. It is a method that can even be used with Acutane users. I've been told I can't have much arch in my eyebrow, but Michelle changed that. She asked me what I wished my eyebrows could be and made it happen. I have been obsessed with getting a better brow look, and now my search has ended. This will now be my eyebrow waxing location! -

I absolutely love this place! I recently moved out of town and don't know if I will ever be able to replace brows. They have been able to turn my obnoxious catepillars to works of beautful art! Prices are pretty standard for a good wax around town and plenty worth it. Often times you will have to wait a day or two for an appt but you are typically in and out and a changed woman within 15 minutes.

I like the location of the place, we found street parking right in front. The staff was very friendly, and my brows were done well, but the esthetician took a little more off the sides than I would like.

Brows is great. I go to Brows for threading by Michelle. Michelle does a great job shaping my brows. Currently, Michelle is the only one who does threading, but the other estheticians are being trained to thread. When I needed to have my brows done and Michelle was unavailable, Amber waxed my brows. She took extra care to ensure that my skin was not irritated by the wax and she did a fantastic job in shaping my brows.
I highly recommend Brows. -

They offer threading! which is super hard to find in the Denver area. Believe me I've looked everywhere on the internet for a place that threads. I also made the same mistake as another yelper not by walking from my apartment but riding my Bike from City Park on a hot day. I arrived all sweaty and miserable. The nice thing is I think they're use to people coming in sweaty from a walk or bike ride so they offer cold packs for the back of your neck.
I'm originally from Chicago and that's where first started going to threading places. The price is a little more expensive than what I'm use to. But I've learned after living all over the US and trying to find threading places in each city prices do vary quite a bit. This place charges $20 something. -

Once again, thanks Yelp for helping me find a place to get something done.
I made my appointment online, which was very convenient. The day before my appointment, someone called to confirm.
I specifically chose Brows as opposed to other waxing establishments because they were the only salon I knew of that offered threading, which is my preferred method of hair removal (I am on retin-a).
I arrived a bit early for my appointment, and waited in line to tell them I was there. They seemed quite busy,with several people waiting and several people in line. I was a little confused as to what to do, and no one greeted me until I finally made it up to the desk, and even then they just said "hi" and didn't prompt me for any more information. Finally, they asked who I was there to see (Michelle the owner) and then offered me some water and was told to wait. I went to the waiting area, and found a lack of seating so I had to perch on a director's chair by the makeup (and felt like I was in the way in case someone had to get their makeup done).
I waited for what seemed like a long time considering that some people who came in after me waited for only a few minutes before being called for their appointment. I was disappointed that no one apologized for the wait, and in general things felt pretty disorganized in the salon.
It was finally my turn, and Michelle started off by asking what I would like to change about my brows (ie if I could wave a magic wand, how would I like my brows to be?). I told her about my brow problems (my brows tend to stick straight out instead of lying nicely to the side) and she seemed to know immediately what we should do (razor trim instead of scissor trim). She set to work and eventually she handed me a mirror and showed me what she was doing and how I could continue to do it at home.
Then she began threading and refining my brows. This is the part where I get really critical about those who do my brows. Michelle spent a lot of time making sure that both brows were even, and plucked/threaded above and below my arch, as well as around my eyes where I have some fuzz.
Usually I'm unhappy with my brows because my waxers/threaders don't pluck at the strays and tend to send me on my way with what I feel like are half-finished brows. But Michelle really got all of the hairs she could get and my brows looked really good when she was finished. I could tell a difference with the razoring vs. the scissors. I didn't have to go back with my own tweezers to get those strays. Sweet.
When I was done and after I paid, the receptionist offered a makeup touch up, which I accepted, and she dusted some mineral makeup on my red spots and I was out the door.
I wasn't sure if I should give 3 or 4 stars for this salon, and settled on 3 just because I didn't feel that the customer service was a great as it could have been. It seemed hectic, and the fact that I wasn't greeted when I entered the salon is a huge no-no for me at any establishment.
I'll come back again because it is the only place I know that does threading, and will update upon my next visit! Hopefully my first appointment was a bit of a fluke and next time will be a great experience. -

I found Kai here on yelp after reading the reviews. She is simply amazing. I was in the hunt for a threading artist in town, there are so very few. I have thick brows and it is hard to find someone who can shape them without making them to thin. Kai is a genius. She is not fix my botched up attempt to wax my own brows but they never looked better. I have become a regular.

Bottom Line: Decent brow wax, but not a friendly place.
UPDATE: I was informed by the owner that some changes have been made to the interior of Brows, so be aware. The last time I visited (and the information in this review was from Feb 08), so it would be interesting to see the changes. My personal recommendation is still fiercely for Urban Renewal on Colfax and Marion for skill level and awesome-factor.

I booked an appointment here after my usual place couldn't get me in on short notice (Urban Renewal = RULES). I saw that this place was recommended on BEST OF CHANNEL 7, so I thought I would give it a whirl.
So after I found this place in the dark and walked uphill 3 blocks because there wasn't any parking available in the freezing cold, I walked in the door. The place is lofty-looking, and the owner has huge photographs on the wall of brides that have had their makeup done by him. Art would have been better.
I was given a glass of water, and they have a really nice sitting area where you can either watch the Highland neighborhood through some product shelving or you can watch the staff at work.
When you walk in, you will see two chairs behind the cash register with people in them getting their brows waxed. When I had mine done there was thankfully no one there to watch me get my hair ripped from my face...kind of weird? The girl that did my brows did a fine job, but the place lacks any kind of comfort or friendliness.
Maybe that's the point...you're in and out for a wax, strikingly similiar to the feel of getting your oil changed and then you're on your way. Very clinical. If you're down for that kind of experience, be my guest. If you're used to coming into a closed room set apart from people watching you the whole time, I don't know if you'll be comfortable here.
Definitely make sure to go to the bathroom before you go, as I had to climb 2 or 3 EXTREMELY steep, winding stairs to a small bathroom. I wouldn't make the trip in any shoes with a heel, or else you may be taking a spill.
When I was upstairs, I saw an area set aside...maybe for bikini or brazilian waxing and facials?
Pros: Skilled Staff
Cons: Atmosphere NOT ideal, parking was a hassle.
Recommend: Urban Renewal for all your waxing needs: Make an appointment with Michelle, the owner. She is AMAZING. -

Went to Brows after another salon left me looking a bit uneven. I saw Amber and she began grooming them back into shape. It took a few months and several regular appointments- but now they look great.
Both Amber and Kai are excellent. Both are proficient in threading and go the extra mile with all the final tuning with tweezers at the end of the appointment.
The atmosphere is great, easy free parking on 15th and on the residential block behind the salon. A little on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for- and I truly trust these ladies.
I have sent 3 friends to try their brow shaping as well- and all report they are just as pleased as I.
I just moved away from Denver sadly and will miss this salon dearly. -

I've been here twice now and am a devoted fan! Cadee has shaped my big hairy brows into sophisticated and alluring man magnets! The staff has been very attentive, and I do like the space and the special chairs they have to do their magic. Its also a perfect opportunity to shop at Mona Lucero's cool boutique next door....
My only complaint is they need to get a more professional website. This blogspot thing is not cutting it! -

First, a huge apology to Brows and Amber for it taking me so long to post a review. I'm truly sorry, because y'all are amazing.
Amber did my brows and my makeup for my wedding. I looked exactly like every woman wants to look on their wedding day- their gorgeous self! Thank you so much Amber for making me look like me, but with that beautiful bridal glow. My makeup lasted all day. YAY!
Also, such a great job on my brows. Seriously, they looked so good I didn't even need make up while I was running around finishing up the details of the big day.
Big recommend on this one! -

Michelle is an eyebrow wizard, and the only reason I look remotely well rested since my daughter was born. It is the ultimate fifteen minute make over. I absolutely love that you don't have to hide afterwards as the salon will hook you up with a nifty complementary makeup touch up that will zap away any post wax redness. (It also makes it easier to trick my friends and family into forgetting that I ever had a uni-brow.) I've gone to several other employees for brow waxing, and have always been pleased.
The salon is a very cool space as well with excellent music and magazines to hang out with if you arrive early for your appointment. The front desk staff is always welcoming and not at all scary. (There are no hard product sells in this space.) After all this you might end up kind of looking forward to having your facial hair, if ever so gently, ripped out! -

Best brazilian wax I have ever had--in Chicago, DC, and now here in Denver. Zenobia has great technique to minimize the sting (you'll get that anywhere with anyone, so finding someone who is the best at minimizing this is top of the line), and I don't know what she does further, but going to her has drastically reduced the bumps/redness that I used to get with other waxists. Hands down, the absolute best.
Michelle is so far the only person I have come across who does threading. I love this technique and will NOT go back to waxing. She takes her time and is concerned about your look as a whole, taking into account glasses, bangs, face shape, etc. I will say though, that coming from the Indian ladies in DC who grew up with threading for everything, I am a little homesick for someone who can thread through my brows in 3 minutes and have them look absolutely flawless each time. That said though, Michelle is the closest I've come to from an American :) And she is fantastically nice, as are ALL of her staff.
All in all, a GREAT find in the highlands! -

I arrived at Brows all hot and sweaty after making the terrible mistake of walking from my apartment. Kai was very gracious about it and even offered me a little cold pack to help me cool down.
Let's be clear- I am a lazy brow person, and by lazy, I mean I have maybe had my brows waxed twice in my life and then very barely pick up tweezers. Kai did a great job with a combination of tweezing, threading, and wax. After a lot of careful work and attention, I can say that my brows look better than they ever have! Totally worth the $20. -

Kaela takes care of my brows every 4 weeks. I can't live without it.
The first time I came in, she actually took time to look at my brows and suggest letting a certain area grow in a bit to create better shape. Girlfriend nailed it. She suggested product, which I never buy, but that time, I did. Now I need, need it. I LOVE my brows now. -

My first experience at Brows last week was great. The staff was extremely knowledgeable about skincare and recommended threading over waxing based on a few medications I am currently taking. $20 after paying much more at times in southern California felt like a bargain--you really shouldn't skimp on brows when they are such an important face-framer...at least, that's how I justify it personally.
My only complaint is the chairs...mine felt like a torture advice and my neck was sore for a good 20 - 30 minutes after I left. Next time I will definitely speak up about needing to get into a better position.

Love Love Love Brows! I have been here a number of times and the staff is kind and helpful and I always come out of their feeling like a rockstar! Simply said it's a great experience and there are a lot of different things you can have done. Hair, Makeup, Eyebrows, Facials and all kinds of other things!

Had my first appt this past Saturday at Brows with MG. This is an appt I've been extremely hesitant about just because I've had so many bad wax/threading experiences in the past. That ended today. After contemplating this appt for weeks, I faced my fear and called the salon and got a same day appt. MG was awesome, she had great suggestions and made me feel comfortable from the time I sat in her chair until the time I left. I love the shape she gave my brows and can't wait to visit her again because I know with her recommendations my brows will be glamorous in no time. I will be back for sure and will be sure to recommend this place to all my friends.
