  I truly had an awful experience from beginning to end. I took over as Condo Assc head in Nov of 2010. In May of 2011, they doubled our premium due without notifying us,  due to actions from previous owners in the building. Then, in Dec. of 2011, we had an accident in the building-not out of negligence, just an accident, and we were dropped from coverage with no warning. They only deal with one carrier so they have no wiggle room for compromise. Amy was very nice, but ultimately unhelpful. I WOULD STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THEM AS POSSIBLE, AND FIND SOMEONE ELSE. If I could  give less then one star, I would. Terrible company!!!!!!!!!!

  Good morning Mr. Daniel Jacobs. We're sorry to hear about your dilemma but we always appreciate feedback from our clients. Without getting into specifics of your policy, by looking at your account we do not see that your premium was ever doubled. An increase of a few hundred dollars, spread out between 2006 and 2012, was the result of several very recent claims that were made for your condo association. The program underwriter you spoke with, Amy, did recommend you to a fantastic insurance broker that we regularly do business with, Billy Higgins, as he has access to alternate carriers. Brownstone Insurance provides master insurance exclusively through one carrier, Aspen Insurance, to be able to maintain a close working relationship with that carrier and ultimately be able to provide the best service and coverage to our customers. Amy felt that her conversation with you was a positive one, and personally emailed Billy Higgins with an outline of your situation, so we do wish you luck with your insurance needs.

  Zero stars, DON'T EVER USE THIS AGENCY. I saw the one other bad review and thought I must have forgotten I had written it. We just got our claim settled from August, 5 months after our neighbors chimney collapsed and fell on our house. They did not return our calls or email, and the agent actually hung up on our condo assoc rep! They are so unprofessional I can not believe they are still in business.

  Hello Kerry. We're sorry to hear you recently experienced a claim.
  
  The claims process can be a confusing and stressful situation for anyone, which is why Brownstone encourages our customers to remain in contact with us via our Facebook page, Twitter account and even utilize our Live Chat application on our website. We offer these outlets so that our customers may contact us at any time at their own convenience. And actually, if you take a look at our Twitter account, we've receive some very positive real-time feedback regarding our claims process. We also have some great positive feedback on our Yelp page, though the reviews are in the "Filtered" section because a lot of our customers are not frequent Yelp users.
  
  Each claim is different however, and so we strive to make the process as easy as possible for our customers. In your case, we see that after waiting to receive a signed proof for the payment, we were actually able to refund your full deductible as well after going through subrogation, which can take some time since it involves several parties.
  
  We regret that you feel this way about your particular experience and we appreciate your feedback.

  Awful.  I have been trying to contact them and my insurance company has also tried to contact them.  They have down right ignored both of us.  Is that how they deal with claims?  Ignore them as if they don't exist?  I see a lawsuit in the future.....
