Review from Laura G.
New York, NY
This place gets kudos for having frequent events featuring interesting authors. Tonight a group from my writing class attended Brendan Koerner's reading here, and it was a warm environment for such an event.
The shelves are a bit sparse, but the titles available are well chosen and current. One exception: why was there a copy of Zagat NYC Theater Guide Spring 2003 front and center?
The inside is well lit, and it smells piney like a cabin in the Maine woods. If I lived in Bed-Stuy and tended to buy books, I would totally shop here. But I don't, and I don't, so I'll just leave Brownstone Books a nice review. -

So, right down the street from Bread-Stuy is Brownstone Books.
It's a wonderful spot to hang out in and browse. The staff is friendly and not pushy, and they have a good variety of books. I like this place. -

So sorry they closed. BB was the hub of that part of Bed Stuy.
