I love Brown's. I truly do. I do. I do. I dooooo.
The apple cider is delicious hot or cold. The apples are yummy and they have a bunch of varieties. It feels like a real farm market. The produce is fresh and they have a decent spread. Strawberry season is pretty awesome as well. The peaches are great too.
The bakery is great for a farm market. They have these wonderful things called sugar cakes. They look like sugar cookies, but they are soft cakes covered in granulated sugar. The whoopie pies are good, especially the pumpkin variety.
They have expanded over the years. There is now a small wine shop attached, along with a coffee shop. It's great. =) -

A nice place to get fresh fruits and vegetables. This place has a bakery and a deli too. They have a good on site cafe that serves some pretty good food.
Getting in and out of the parking lot can be dangerous since the traffic on your right when exiting the place will not see you turning until they come to the top of the hill. If they are traveling too fast, they might just hit you. If you are traveling on the road and are entering by taking a left from the street, be careful and signal way in advance or else you might get rear ended. I have seen accidents in front of this place a few times now. -

Brown's Orchards is a really nice produce market that has expanded into canned goods, flowers, bakery, cafe and ice cream parlor.
They offer a pick your own operation for apples in the fall (perhaps other fruits - not sure).
If you're not a usual farm market shopper this is a good introduction as the produce is always perfect and their selection is excellent. You do pay for that perfection though - some of the prices I thought were a bit high for my taste.
Bakery options are extensive and delicious. They also have a fully stocked deli and some prepared foods. Check it out! -

The wife and I were on a scooter ride to MD when we came across this place to stop and stretch our legs. A bunch of cars were in the parking lot so the locals must enjoy it, why not give it a shot. So it's a market with a bunch of other things available. Fruits, veggies, baked goods, gift shop, candy and various beverages good for a hot day. We decided to try an apple cider slushie, it was very tasty and refreshing on the hot day we wanted to get another one but were running out of time. Also, since we didn't have any kind of cooler or transport bag, we couldn't buy any of their baked goods either. We'll have to swing by here again with the car to test out some of their pies and cookies.

This place has a bright and friendly ambiance and wonderful fresh produce throughout. I was surprised not to pay more for the reasonably priced goods we did buy too - which in many markets is not the case. Don't leave this market without picking up something from the bakery section where the loaves, breads, cakes and pies are as good as I have had anywhere in the area.

I love Brown's Market. The bakery section is amazing with everything from pies to cookies to custards. I love the selection of produce and the option to pick some of your own. I also like that they host various festivals and other events. The deli sandwiches are ok, but the coffee shop and outdoor pavilion is nice to at at. The staff is all very nice and helpful, which just makes the market that much more enjoyable!

Growing up in the area, people always made a big deal about Brown's. I always felt like it was an overrated place to buy a pie. Get your local, healthy produce at Sonnewalds 20 minutes away, and make the pie in your oven.

My fiance and I love going to Brown's and just spending an hour or two browsing. We always get a fresh made-to-order sandwich from the deli counter and relax in the cafe while we eat. Then we browse their delicious baked goods and quirky novelties. We were pleasantly surprised the last time we visited that there is now a winery represented within Brown's and we had a lovely wine-tasting for $3. Take an afternoon and check it out! You won't be sorry.
