Formerly a department store in downtown Tuscaloosa, Brown's Corner is now a restaurant/piano bar establishment. I went with a group after the end of a semester to enjoy being done with school and hang out for a bit before parting ways for the summer.
The place is pretty nondescript from the outside, sitting a few spaces down from Mugshots, but the interior atmosphere gives it a unique flair: there are several levels to the building, most of them open to the ones below, set up as something like interior patios, overlooking the bar area on the main floor.
Our visit happened on a pretty quiet night for the place, with just a few other parties scattered around. There was supposed to be a dueling piano performance, but only one pianist showed up; they alternated between piping music in and letting the guy play a variety of songs, so there was a constant background sound without taking over the place like a live band.
Prices were about average, and if you plan to hang out for a while, get in before five o'clock or so to miss the cover when there is one. -

Nice bartenders, great food, another fantastic bar downtown. The menu is very limited though, so if you're expecting a plethora to choose from, you won't get it.

Review from Kerri B.

I went here to grab dinner one night. I wanted to try the Juicy Lucy because I'd heard good things about it, but it was just a typical cheese burger. The waffle fries were pretty on point though. I heard they have a dance-club type set up on weekends in their upper deck; have yet to try that out. It's a piano bar type place downstairs where the restaurant is, and the entertainment is pretty good. They also have a pretty large bar with TVs playing your favorite sports teams. Pretty much all of the staff was attractive, which is unrelated, but a nice touch.
