Review from Anna H.
Western Springs, IL
My partner and I stayed at the Brown Street Inn for a night last week while I was in town for a graduate school interview, and even though I was wracked with nerves, I felt completely at home in our room. The bathroom was immaculate, the bed was comfortable, and the inn was decorated beautifully.
What really sets this experience apart, though, is Mark's attentive care to all his guests. He outlined the best way for me to get to my interview location, was eager to recommend local restaurants, and was just generally lovely and sweet. If you're staying in Iowa City, you must book a room with Mark at the Brown Street Inn. -

I stayed at this charming little B&B this weekend, and I came away feeling very impressed with the experience. Our hosts were caring and gracious, and they were very concerned that we were having a good experience.
We stayed in the green room, which had a king bed and lovely views of the neighborhood. The bathroom had a retro feel to it, but was very clean and was more than adequate for our needs. There were always fresh cookies to be had, and the breakfast we had was to die for. The house feels very homey with a raring fire going, nicely decorated Christmas tree, and a cozy couch to curl up on with a book.
I loved the charm of this place and can't wait to go back. It's a quick walk downtown, and there's parking in the back if you need to go further than that. -

Just what you want in a bed and breakfast. The hosts, gracious, and legitimately helpful, not at all pushy or intrusive. Quality everywhere, tasteful, updated. Hotel quality where you want it, like in the bathroom, antiques and comfortable furnishings elsewhere.
Really rivals inn's we've stayed at in S.F.
Quiet neighborhood, walk easliy to campus or anywhere else. Good off street parking.
We'll stay here again when we're in Iowa City. -

I enjoyed every minute of my stay at the Brown Street Inn. I only wish I could have stayed longer-- like forever! The house and guest rooms are beautifully furnished and decorated-- Mark was so welcoming, helpful, gracious, and fun to talk to-- my room was perfect, with every comfort and convenience-- and the breakfasts were wonderful. If there is "room at the Inn" I will never consider staying anywhere else when I am in Iowa City!
