This car wash is the funnest thing ever. It's like a ride: you give them a relatively small amount of money, and then you get to put your car in neutral, kick back, and enjoy a journey that involves giant blue chamois tongue things that lick your car, RAINBOW FOAM that smells like berries, all kinds of soapy/waxy/water squirting, and a blower machine part that makes your whole car vibrate.

This car wash is the best place to make out, so I wish I could classify it as "romantic." Don't make out so aggressively that you miss the rainbow foam though. What else can I say. I like the little wipe-down station you can go to after the car wash to catch any drips. That's a nice touch.

The staff are friendly and get the job done. The place always works (which is a miracle with that many moving parts, and things to break down, right?)

I bring my car here pretty often.  Definitely not the way to go if you have major crap on your car, but in general, it's great.

If you get gas at the adjacent station, you get a discount here, which is cool.

It costs twice what the Shell in the Udistrict charges and all they do is a quick scrub before you enter the wash.

I'd rather drive a few more minutes and pay half for the same car wash. I do like that you can drive up, hand over plastic, and within a few minutes you're on your merry way... but then again, that's just me being lazy.

I give 'em 3 for convenience and for laughing at the lame joke I made about their car washes being the 'beary best.' Hilarious, I know.

What a great car wash!  I usually hate using the insta-drive-through style car washes.  For some reason, I really like the satisfaction of scrubbing my own car.  But I was in no condition to do that so this was my only alternative.

I love that you can easily buy a car wash at the pump or pay them up front.  And it's not a bad price and about what I spend at the pay and spray style washes.

They sure do get your car clean.  They even help guide your car in to make sure its aligned properly.  And at the end they help dry off, scrub missed spots and offer you extra towels if you want to go over your car.

They even went out of their way to walk through the machine when I lost my antenna and tried to help put it back on for me. (not the car washes fault, it was already loose)

Only about $7 for do-it-yourself, inside-and-out car wash. You pay in quarters, $2.00 for five minutes of pre-rinsing, $2.00 for soaping, and $2.00 for more rinsing. And about a buck to vacuum the inside. Good deal.

Note: when you take a pick-up truck through the car wash, make sure you don't have anything sitting in the bed. Unless you need it to be cleaned as well.

The guys working this place were extremely friendly. Wow. I just wish they had imparted that bit of 'remove stuff from your pick-up bed' knowledge on us.

Also, you'll get a buck off if you put at least 8 gallons of gas in your tank before you wash. Filling up AFTER you wash does you absolutely no good.

The car was sparkling, but we were a dollar poorer, and our stuff was a little wetter.

"I'm fixin' to get that bird crap off your car for ya"

Now that's what I call service. They are always so totally sweet and professional at Brown Bear. You really do get the "Beary Best". BAH! Get it - "Bear - y"? HAHA! Taking a swing through BB is one of my favorite things to do on a "me" day. Don't be scared off when there's a huge line! They are so fast you really get through the line quick.

My only complaint is not your fault... I think.

I am used to washing my car about once a week - being from Arizona, where car washes are about $3.00 it was totally normal. AND on your receipt, there is a coupon that if it rains within 48 hours of your car wash you could come in for another one - free! You guys don't do that here... sadness... : )

But I give the nice guys my money - and drive and it comes out the other end clean - seems like an oxymoron but NO!

I like that they also have towels there to dry off your car when you are done... Sell gas as well for a one stop shop situation.

    Enjoy the bubbles!

This Brown Bear Car Wash has been my favorite for more than a year. I've tried other locations but always come back to this one. BUT for the last few months I've found disfavor with the new guy in charge of scrubbin' the car grills. Each time I come I'm hoping he's been rotated into another duty, but each time I'm disappointed.

"Tell them to quit being lazy up there," said the towel-dry guy as he ushered be back through the wash because the bugs were still plastered to the front of my car. Yeah right.. like I'm going to say that.

Dude... take that brush and give the grill and the plate a good scrubbin! I'm paying $15 bucks to have my car cleaned. I think you could put some elbow grease into it! If not, hand the brush off.

A great place to get you car cleaned quickly.  It is very inexpensive also.  You have choice from 3 different options that range from $7 to $13 last time I went there.  There is lots of space to park anywhere so you can wipe down your car with the towels they provide.  There are also multiple spots to get your car vacuumed.  Staff was prompt and great.

What not to expect is when you come out at the other end, no one will wipe down your car, you have to do it.  You also have to pay to use the vacuum, $1.00 for 3 or 4 mins.

I also like the smell of the soap they use!

This is my go to car wash.  While it isn't the best in the city, the price can't be beat and it's pretty good!  I usually will go to the Chevron to fuel up and get the $1 off price with the code on the receipt.  This makes it easier and saves a buck on any of the washes.

The car wash itself does a good job.  I tend to get "Beary Good" which is the middle level wash.  It gets the car as clean as can be expected from a drive through - nicely cleaning all exposed surfaces.  Door jambs and tight spots may need more attention with a rag though.

They also have coin operated vacuums that work very well.  They provide all the suction you need to get the dirt out of your interior.  This is where I went after our car was broken into to clean up the shattered glass and it worked well.

Overall, Brown Bear is a great choice when you need on the go car cleaning at a reasonable price.

After reading all the horrible reviews for Elephant, I decided to give Brown Bear a go, and luckily decided to get gas beforehand.

Imagine how stoked I was to find I got a dollar off my car wash with the purchase of 8 gallons of gas!

Add to that the smiley workers and a squeaky clean car, and I'm sold.

Quick, polite, very inexpensive. Exterior wash for as little as $8.00. Add other optons?: You're still only out-of-pocket about $15.00

Nice, friendly staff. Car came through the experience with a tip-top finish.

    Bravo, thanks!

You can buy your card o' Berry Best Washes at Costco and save yourself a bucket o' cash.

They are getting pretty lazy with the brush.  They used to do a bit of a scrub all around and pretend to take a swipe at the tires too.  Now there's just that marijuana poster child look and off you go.

Still a reasonably good deal; just not as good as it used to be.

Pulled into this Brown Bear Car Wash location this afternoon.

A wide open lane with no cars in front. I soon found out why.

They sport a sign you wouldn't see until you get to it that says "To control costs we've eliminated the wipe down . You can get some towels and do it your self." or words to that effect.

Dude, if I wanted to wipe it down myself I'd go to the spray booths for two bucks instead of forking over the almost seven bucks.

A quaint little gip to give you LESS SERVICE for the same price.

Where I come from we call this gypping the customer.

I just backed up and went to the spray booths down the street.

Very stupid move. Plus they eliminate a very entry level job for somebody looking to get a decent leg up. Minimum wage plus tips can't be that much, but it's still better than begging on the steet.

I'm boycotting the Brown Bears until they show me they thing more of people and customers than they've currently doing.

Well, my car is cleaner... but there's still dirt on the back and some brown streaks.  Granted, I drove about 20 miles on a dirt road and my car was filthier than I've ever seen it, but I figured a $14 wash would at least get it all off.  If I had taken it someplace where a human being touches it up after the wash then this would have been caught before I left the lot--not when I got home.  Lesson learned.

So we went to Alberta Canada for Vacay and decided to drive out there...not a bad drive about 10 hours...across some beautiful country and some crazy snowy passes....Well as you could probably guess the Xterrra was trashed!!! Dirty as all-get-out and the smell of funk...ouch....So we rolled back into Seattle and had to do something about the mess....Rolled into Brown Bear and went thru the wash...Out came the truck Squeaky Clean...and they even dry your hood and windows! HAH!!! Stoked I am!!!

I gave them money, drive the car into a box full of soapy cookie monsters, and it came out clean.  Pretty neat, that.

DO NOT PAY FULL PRICE!!!  I always get the coupons from the back of QFC receipts.  It gets you 3 bucks off the best wash and 1 buck off the cheapest wash.  I also order the washing passes online cause it's much cheaper than paying for the tickets there.  Running your car through the tunnel gets a 5 star for awesome job on regular car dirt, but I drives me a manly ass drunk and I drives that trunk through the mud!!! It does a sub par job when it comes to super messes like that! Maybe I shoulda given it 4 stars... ionno... is 3 and 1/2 an option?

    Meh.

I'm all about clean and green and whatever (actually, not really, though I do appreciate a business that cares), but when it seems like the way companies stay green is by lowering the quality/quantity of the product I start to draw issue.

We took my fiance's car in for an overdue wash since it'd been sitting under some sapping trees for a day or two. Paid whatever the big ticket wash price was ($15ish?) and went through. Came out the other end and started to hand-dry our own car (really?) when we realized there was still a legitimate sheen of sap on the car.

I know sap is a pain to clean, but that's why we paid for the pricey wash. $15 bucks later we're hand scrubbing the car and thinking we probably could have done this on our own for a bit less. Seems like Brown Bear is a bit more for the regular washes (once a weekers) than the more sporadic.

I think the guys at the entrance could put a little more effort into the broom scrubs in the beginning, but whatever.  You'll have to come back soon- this being Seattle.  Nice because it is automatic and not a self-wash.
