Review from Kelly D.
Merrick, NY
I ate here on a Saturday night and the place seemed to be quite popular. I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimp. It was one of the best fettuccine alfredos that I have tried where it had a smooth texture and you can taste the butter along with the alfredo cheese. Shrimps were cooked perfectly too. The portions are very generous. My plate of pasta could have easily fed 2 people. The garlic knots were average. The mozzerella, basil, tomato salad was tasty, but I wash there was more basil in it. I heard that the pizza here was also good, so I brought a pie home. It reheated nicely the next day in the microwave and tasted good. People who like extra cheese on their pizza will like pizza from Brothers.

I don't get the rave reviews that I've seen here on Yelp...or the glowing word of mouth raves. While the pizza is nothing terrible...it is really nothing special either. For the pizza, the crust is good...the sauce is blah...the fresh mozzarella did have good flavor...but that's not saying much.
We ordered a Margarita Pizza, and it just wasn't up to par with other pizzerias in the area. When I think Margarita Pizza...I think a freshly crushed tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, nice fresh basil and maybe a splash of Olive oil. Not here...somebody spread some canned, pale sauce on the pie, and threw some tiny specs of basil on top...almost like an after-thought.
Like I said though...flavors were ok...but Frank's and Mancini's further up Rt. 18 have better quality pizza than this. And both places do make you feel more welcome than Brothers.
I will definitely give them a few more trys before I give up on them. Maybe the Margarita Pie is just not their thing...who knows? -

I love this place. They treat you like family, make sure you leave full and it brings back a lot of good memories. What more can one ask for?

I've been eating at Brother's Pizza since the 70s. After spending the last 15 years living in Manhattan and Brooklyn, I've returned to East Brunswick, and Brother's still has the best pizza and subs in town. You won't get a better cheesesteak or Italian sub anywhere else. And their grandma pie (a relatively new addition to their menu) rocks like no other. Not a big fan of their pasta dishes. And yes, they are still as gruff as ever behind the counter. Mancini is definitely giving Brother's a run for their money, and I often alternate between the two. But considering all the great pizza I've had to leave behind in Brooklyn, it's nice to know Brothers is still turning out reliable pies and subs all these years later.

Review from Steve G.
Union, NJ
The pizza here rates an "okay," as neither the crust, sauce, cheese or toppings are game-changers, but as a package its decent. In my book, the hot sandwiches are much better: old school sausage and onions and veal parm in particular. I've observed what others have refered to as attitude at the front counter. From what I've seen, they're busy and more than a little disorganized; I don't think they show a contempt for their customers.

Pizza is just OK. Service comes with maximum attitude. They seem to think they are doing you a favor by taking your order. Frequently screw up phone orders.
Worst experience was ordering at the front counter, and waiting 25 minutes in the crowded lobby. When I finally asked someone where my order was, they had no idea. When I saw the individual who took my order, he told me he hadn't entered my order, because he thought I was "picking up".
Then the attitude got even worse. Far too many places in this area with equal or better pizza, that actually enjoy the fact that you have chosen to do business with them. -

Gotta grab pizza here everytime I come back from the west coast. Their pizza has this amazing fragrant crust that's just the right amount of crispness.
Note that yelp seems to have this in the wrong location on the map. -

I've ordered here a few times and the pizza here is not good. The dough seemed too dry and chewy, the sauce tasted too sweet. Its all about the sauce and dough and this place just doesn't have it. I stopped ordering the pizza here and tried there cheese steak sandwich, and what a mistake! There was so much cheese on the sandwich it almost made me puke, the steak had no flavor at all and it was chewy, the bread they overtoasted it and was hard to eat, it was one of the worst cheesesteak sandwiches I have ever ate! I even brought it back and told the guy at the counter that it had too much cheese, he said "well all our customers like it with lots of cheese" I through it in the garbage after that and I stopped coming here.
East brunswick pizza is just not good! Never again will I come here. -

Chino Hills, CA
Growing up in East Brunswick, Brother's Pizza was the most AMAZING pizza I've ever had. It's been 3 years since I've been back, so I'm not sure if things have changed, but I used to go there at least once a week when I worked at Brunswick Hills.
The plain slices were to die for and so was the baked ziti. It's a shame that that they've begun doing the California style pizza; CA pizza really isn't that good.
Best place ever and brings back good memories..highly recommend it! -
Review from Chrystal C.
East Brunswick, NJ
Brothers has absolutely amazing pizza. The sauce, the crust, everything. The plain slices are perfect with just the right amount of dough, cheese, and sauce to give you one delicious confection. The vodka pie...don't even get me started on the vodka pie. Instant happiness.
They are ALWAYS busy. Even when you order ahead of time, expect to wait at least five minutes when you get there to pick up your food.
As for their other food, I've only had their hot subs but they're delicious as well; just a tad bit too much bread for my taste.
One star down because every time I order a vodka pie and ask for extra basil, they forget the basil...even though I emphasize it. Also, at work we order the same food and split the tab, but for some reason the total fluctuates. Hmm. -

Not much more to say but that this place has some of the best Pizza in the area! It's usually very busy and there are not that many tables inside. You'll find lot's of folks ordering to go. This place is also BYOB

I have eaten Brother's pizza for well over a decade. Pizza doesn't get much better than this. I had pizza here earlier this week and was pleasantly surprised to find that Brother's has a new recipe for its crust. The crust used to be their pizza's weak spot, but now it's great. I haven't had better New York style pizza even in New York.

I have been going there over 15 years, after moving from Brooklyn Ny to East Brunswick, NJ, there is nothing that compares to Brothers. Brothers not only out does itself with the regular slices but you have to try the nonna squares if you want to taste excellence.

Best place in East Brunswick. Hands down. Sometimes the service isn't great... or the line is long... but the best slices and pies in town.

Jamesburg, NJ
This place is always busy, and that's a good sign. There is always someone coming in to pick up, or grab a few slices, or sit down for lunch or dinner. I have never seen this place empty. The whole reason we go there is for the VODKA PIE. Never in your life will you taste a pie like this. The salads are fresh and simple, the other pizzas are fine, but try the VODKA PIE. The crust is thin but not too thin, the vodka sauce is delicious, and whatever combination of cheeses they use (fresh mozzarella is one of them) is the perfect blend. The place is clean, the staff is friendly, bottled and canned beverages, prices are reasonable (but the vodka pie since its a specialty pie is around $16 or so). Do yourself a favor and go eat a VODKA PIE!

Another classic NJ pizza. This place is so good, and the owners are super friendly, and know pretty much all their customers by name. The staff is ridiculously friendly. The place is neatly laid out, and very clean. And all their non-pizza food is delicious, many pastas, salads, etc. I highly recommend this place.

I had great expectations after reading all the rave reviews about Brothers on another rating site. I was looking for that true NJ/NY pizza. I ordered a "regular" pizza as Brothers calls it, which is a traditional pizza you would expect from the typical suburban Pizzeria/Italian restaurant . They also have "specialty" pizzas there which seem to be upscale California style and are more expensive.
Unfortunately, my pizza from Brothers was just average. Why? The dough had a dry bread-like airy texture with little flavor. The sauce was OK being slightly sweet with tomato flavor, but it lacked traditional seasoning that makes a great sauce. And lastly the mushroom topping had an off taste, suggesting they may have been canned rather than fresh. Seems like it is almost impossible to get a good pizza in this area any more. Surprising since there are so many transplants from NYC here.
Note: Yelp has the address wrong, it is not High street but 1020 State Route 18 # 144 Center 18 strip mall next to Burger King and across from the Seville Diner. And it is called AM Brothers in the phone book - phone number matches the address I gave. -
Review from Dom V.
Old Bridge, NJ
I have been going to this pizzeria since high school. I moved to the West Coast for a few years and the pizza was horrible. Now that I live in Jersey again, Brothers is my pizza spot. The owners and staff are personable and the pizza is really good. My only negative observation is their sicilian's consistency in taste.
