So I find all to appropriate to make Brothers Pies N' Fries my 100th!!! review..

Sunday evening waiting for the Clipper game to watch and I wanted pizza really bad..did a quick yelp search and BPNF pops up..I read the reviews I check their website and off I go..

Found a spot; must of been fate, on Colorado right at the entrance to the Down Mills alley..walk down was greeted by a friendly gentleman.

I orderd the little brother with double pepperoni and an order fries, plain this time as I wanted to see what the hype was about.

Now I love pizza, love pizza and have had some great pizza in NY..BPNF NY style pizza brings NY to Pasadena, they even have a small take-out window for slices of pie...they must be shipping in dough or water from NY because this pizza was thee best, cooked to perfection and the dough was so good..They put just the right amount of sauce and cheese on the pizza..The fries, just plain, were absolutely amazing..This little gem is going to be around for a long, long time.

They only have a small seating area outside maybe four tables but it is a quick phone call away to order, drive by, pick-up your pie and fries and your on your way; I dare you to no pick at the food as your driving away, yes its that good and smells amazing. As I walked back to my car a group of people smelled the pizza and said yummmm...lets go back..

If your looking for parking and cant find street parking there is a lot on fair oaks and green street that has free 90 minute parking..

    So whathca waiting for GO!!!!

This place was a really good part of my St. Paddy's day celebration.  They had green pizza dough.  I don't know if it tasted the same as their normal pizza dough or not because this was the first time I ever ate there.  The pizza was really good the fries were also really good.   I don't know who thought that this would be a good combination of food, but they were RIGHT.

    I plan on going again.

Go go go. Found this little gem off the beaten path today during a car show. You can get pizza or fries anywhere, but not like this. Great NY style pizza and awesome fries. Try them "brother's style", soooo good. I really can't describe how good the fries really are. It's a different take on any fry I've ever had and it works very well. Had the house made sweet tea also(with free refills!) and it hit the spot. This was a perfect place to sit down in the shade and relax for a bit. Fantastic customer service.

It's no easy feat to take something so ordinary as pizza, fries, and tea and turn it into something special, but this place does it. Cheap eats too. This place deserves 5 stars.

Finally!  A good slice of pizza in Pasadena. The business is tucked away down Mills Place off Colorado and is easy to miss but once you find it you'll remember where to go when you're hankering for a slice. Yes, they have slices! At first I though that $3.99 was a little high for a slice but I realized that they don't serve a slice that's been sitting around all day but slices from a fresh pie. Considering that LA does not have the pedestrian traffic like New York to turn over pizza so quickly the price makes sense. Perfectly cooked crust, nice sweet sauce, and top quality cheese. Bookmarked!

Fries...GOOD! Pies....GOOD! Do you really need more information?

They are open late, you can buy it by the slice and the service is friendly! I am personally a fan of New York style pizza; that perfectly thin pizza but doughy deliciousness. And I'm glad it's in my neighborhood.

I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because I'm not sure I've been blown away it but it is definitely my favorite pizza in the area!

Came here after a late night in Pasadena. It's tucked away in an alley across from a club (perfect location for any food). PIZZA FRIES. Try 'em. Imagine all the ish of a pizza, but instead of the crust, you have fries.

Thin crust is pretty good too. I won't say it's 100% proper NY thin, but it's good enough for Pasadena!

Two words, LATE NIGHT! The pizzas are good! They are open up to 2am and 3am on the weekends! Great for  late late nights! Pizzas are delicious! The "Real" New Yorker way, they said!

They have fries, sweet potato fries as well!

This little pizza place is hidden!.. Very hidden and not any of the big street. Hidden behind an alley called Down Mills Pl.. and Colorado. Behind Culture 22/ Pinkberry's and Cheesecake Factory!!

Oh man. Sometimes you just want pizza.  You just need pizza.  Brothers Pies to the rescue.

We almost missed this place because it's tucked away in a little tiny alley.

The Pie: delicious. Think thin, crispy crust.  A little crispier than other NY style pies I've tried, but tasty nonetheless.  I will say that some areas were a bit burnt and had a bitter taste.  Otherwise, the toppings were fresh and plentiful.  I really liked the sausage.  It had some bite. We ordered a whole pie and that was the way to go.

The fries: well let me start by saying that I'm not a fan of thick cut fries.  Never have been, never will be. These fries were thick, with the skin on.  Somewhat like a steak fry, just crispier.  We chose vinegar and the sweet and salty flavors.  I could've done without the fries and had more pizza.  The vinegar just sits at the bottom of the cup and is not my cup of tea.  The sweet and salty seasoning was good, but needed a bit more.

Service was great and they were very patient considering we couldn't decide what to order.

Definitely a must for the pizza lovers out there like us.

This place is a GREAT addition to the area, and having eaten there probably 15-20 times since they've opened I've found the staff to be fast, honest and very personable and welcoming.

I play in a sports league on Friday nights who is sponsored by a nearby bar, and there is nothing like coming from a game hungry and grabbing a couple slices and some fries before a night of partying. I must admit I've also made the after party stop there many times as well, and the fact that they're open well past bar time is a lifesaver.

I'm no New Yorker, but I've done my share of travelling and eating, and the food here holds it's own with any of the pizza joints I've been to, and the addition of the ADDICTING pizza fries or the sweet and salty fries really makes them stand out.

Beyond that, the fact that staff treats you like a friend and does their best to know your name, greet you, display your pics on their digital photo frames inside and make sure you are full and happy goes a long way- Even if they won't let me ride their delivery segway.

Them pies and them fries aint too bad.

A friend of mine was hungry so we hopped on Yelp and found this little gem right off the main road.  The guys who were working took pride in the shop and you could tell they're working hard to keep growing their business.

The slice of pizza was A-OK according to my friend, and we all shared the fries -- which were seasoned wonderfully (there are many to choose from).  They've got fresh cut potatoes up in there, so enjoy the fresh taste.

There's something cool about a place that's hard to find that makes great affordable food.

Give them a shot.  Give your money to the little man.  Or in this case, men.

I have only gotten delivery, but have been happy every time. (they at least show up, unlike some other local place... AND usually show up before the time they quoted to you!)
Their pizza reminds me of college...nothing to fancy but really hits the spot! And their pizza fries are amazing.

After driving for 30 minutes, we finally arrived at Pasadena. Our goal was to try the Bird Pick Tea place but we decided to go find some food first. We were walking around and saw this interesting pie and fries place. I was craving some french fries so I decided to give it a shot. They have an assortment of fry seasonings, styles, and sizes so I decided to try the pizza fries for an extra 2.00.

When the the fries came, they were hot and served in a chinese food style take out box. The pizza fries were made with nice and crispy hand made fries drenched in pizza sauce and cheese. It was a nice combination of pizza and fries :) My only complaint is that there were no toppings besides the sauce and cheese but besides that, this made the perfect snack before drinking tea.

PIZZA FRIES & SWEET TEA.  The only thing that pisses me off about this is that I did not have this the first time I went. You can LITERALLY open a store just selling their PIZZA FRIES & SWEET TEA (PFST).  I LOVE sweet tea; this is the BEST sweet tea I have ever had. This is my third update, I would not waste my time if it wasn't this damn good.

You're welcome, citizens.  I am doing YOU a favor.  This place doesn't need Yelp.

*I got a "schooling" about their cheese and marinara sauce.  Long story short they put a lot of time in to where they get their ingredients and how it's made. RESPECT to them and what they do.  They will continue to out-do themselves every year, you can tell.

got there at about 12:50 and ordered first day of the week they opened.
got a 14 in pie with sausage topping... they dont have hamburger anymore btw :[ apparently they havnt had it for a while because no one would order it  also got two small fries: maryland and brother's style. took only 10 minutes to make it... and what are you talking about? they did hand knead it....  anyways finally it came

i wasnt really expecting it to be thin crust but eh it was great anyways.  about two chunks of sausage on each slice.  8 slices, oh my,  it was pretty good. the sauce was extra tomatoy flavored and yeah it was great... i'd say it was pretty cheap too.  eh.  anyways two things of fries,  maryland style was eh. basically caujan seasoning.  i didn't care for it but my friend loved it.   meanwhile i had a brother's fry and loved it. so we decided to just trade and yeah.  oh my god. those fries...  first time i've ever had sweet fries.  it was noms.... coming back for the fries.  maybe pizza if i'm in a pizza mood.

Their pies are SO GOOOOD! Their service is awesome, also. I've been here a few times, mostly ordered cheese pizza because that's all you really need. I've had their fries once and honestly, it can be skipped. The price is quite high for pizza but I would definitely pay for it!

If you do not like a heavy LA pizza like from any other place, then you should come here. If you do not like dominos, pizza hut, joe's pizza, buca di beppo pizza, then you should come here. I wish I could name more but I do not typically order pizza from restaurants because I'm not a fan of LA pizza. I came here with a  recommendation from friend who frequents at Jake's. We both loveee it.

Did I mention their service is really great!

There's a complete and utter lack of seating here. And if there are available seats rude people are taking it up for their purse.

Parking is best over at The Delacy structure for one and a half hour for free.

The workers or brothers were so nice! its a shame that we didnt have a place to put our pizza because these three people just wanted to lag forever. However, that doesnt factor into their review because they dont have control over that.

As for the pizza, I really enjoyed it! Its pretty close to new york pizza, but not in price. Its not the cheapest pizza but its really good! we just got some pepperoni and it was so hot and cheesy, which was perfect for the cold weather. We also ordered the Maryland fries which is a type of seasoning. its a little sweet and with spice. Its really good! Id definitely recommend that everyone try this place!

A good pizza place in Pasadena is missing.  Having tried almost every independent pizza restaurant in Pasadena I was just ordering Dominos pizza for the past few months.
Finally, brothers pies and fries is my go to.  I do not think it is NY style, but it doesn't matter.  The thin crust pizza is amazing and after leaving it on my skillet for a few mins the crust was hot and crispy.  The fries were a bit soggy, which is only natural since it was delivery and if anyone can bring me crispy hot fries via delivery, they must be doing something illegitimate.
Great service, prompt delivery time, and great pizza has earned my repeat business.

LOVE their pizza!! Best cheesy, slightly greasy, thin, NY-style pizza in the area! Not an easy thing to find in LA at all.

We now make it a tradition to pick up a heavenly slice before/during Patriot games since it's right next to Jake's in Old Town. I'm definitely going to miss it when football season is over.

Slices start about $3 plus change and worth it! Plus since they are thin crust that means they aren't as fatty as regular pizza LOL!! Right??? haha

LOVED everything about this place!! It was our first time here and we ordered the larger pizza with half mushrooms (for the vegetarian in me) and half meaty for my brother and our friend. Came out thin crust, which I didn't expect, BUT LOVED!!!!!!!! I feel that when you're eating thin crust pizza, you're somewhat eating a healthier pizza. Weird I know, but whatever. It was DAMN GOOD!!

We also accompanied our 'Pie' with some fries! We had the house seasoning which was a little sweet and salty. Very tasty!! Pairing my two favorite things in life together, I never imagined before. Brother's Pies and Fries are doing it real well!!

The place is small, located down a very unique street. They have a few tables outside for seating, but this place is mainly for delivery or take out orders.

We met some of the Brothers. They were super helpful and very informative about their punchcard system.

Definitely will be returning when I'm in the area.

I had Brothers Pie and Fries last night as we we transitioned happy hour from Pop Champagne to Equator. A few of the guys and I were hungry to we decided to get a slice before entering Equator (it is right outside). Maybe I was buzzed, but the pizza was amazing. Freshly made, hot, and a thin crust. I also ordered some fries, which were also pretty good. They have various seasonings for the fries, so it was fun trying  out a different flavor. I'd say the food is quite good. A little pricey (about $7 for a slice and fires), but yummy!

Brothers has the best pizza around period. The crust is perfect. The dough is cooked just right so that it doesn't get soggy in the middle which is often the case with thin crust pizza. I didn't realize how delicious the sauce was until I had the pizza fries. Brothers fries are all incredible but I always struggle over deciding on pizza fries (which should be called cheesy heaven) or sweet potato fries (honeymoon in a cup). Portions are huge so bring a friend or take it home to the family.

As much as I love everything on the menu (and everything they create that's not yet on the menu), my favorite thing about Brothers is the people. The staff is geniune and friendly. Its a great place to hangout any night of the week (and twice on Fridays).

Writing this review has made me very hungry and I am sad that I don't live in the delivery range.

I walked inside and I was automatically greeted. I had brought 5 other people who hadn't tried this food so Jared was nice enough to let them sample the French fries. We got a half cheese half pepperoni pizza and were blown away. It's not greasy. One of the best pizzas I had. Then we got the brothers style fries and those were amazing. The fries are made like the fries my mom makes at home. Thick cut, fresh, and hot! Eat here if you haven't. I promise you will want to go back every time

Went mid afternoon with my mom to pick up some lunch for the family. We ordered a veggie pizza fresh out of the oven as well as some french fries. I usually am not a fan of steak fries, but the seasoning was delicious (I like it a bit spicy)! Our pizza was fantastic as well after waiting very little time. I tend to like thick crust, but the thin crust was a nice change, plus healthier too!

Only downer is that the single slices aren't always right out of the oven because it's kind of hard to make a perfect single slice everytime, ha.

I like the outdoor seating too, yes, I know it gets cold, but the fresh air is nice in comparison to the overpowering pizza smell. I only wish they were located more towards the main street rather than down the alley for a better view.
In addition, the price is a bit steep, which sucks for us broke college kids roaming expensive Old Town for some cheap munchies (when our moms aren't with us paying, of course).

You know what is also super cool? The have segways for delivery around Old Town!

Overall, very pleased! I may not know pizza like a true New Yorker or Chicagoan, but they have better pizza than we do in San Diego! And awesome service!

PLAY WITH THE IPAD WHILE YOU WAIT AND TAKE SOME FUN PHOTOS!

I truly feel sorry, because I like inside myself to support all people who seem working hard to be successful in business, yet I'm an hounest person and I will never lie or make compliment in my reviews: Your pizza are really not tasty ... I drove to you because I wanted to taste a real pizza and now I can say I was misconiceved by the reviews here ...

Given that pizza is like my favorite food in the world (up there with burgers) I was disappointed.

I stopped by on a Friday afternoon (they're closed on Mondays & Tuesdays) and grabbed a slice of cheese. I was initially really happy I found a close by place that sells by the slice, like in NY.

    My thoughts about the pizza:
    - overall it tastes a LOT like the store bought pizza that you make yourself (I used to live off of home baked pizza, so I'm an expert!) I could tell right away on the first bite that this slice was just whatevers. Especially since the pizza was sizzling hot -- it should be in the best state to eat!
    - red sauce was weak, nothing new or different about it. I'm BIG on red sauce so this was very important to me!
    - dough has a weird texture, reminds me of taffy! Like the way you chew and bite out reminds me of when you microwave old pizza and it has that it's-hot-but-oh-no-it's-going-to-turn-hard-soon texture.
    - it's very thin, which is fine, but when the edges burn it is literally inedible. The burned flat pieces break off immediately and it doesn't taste like anything but coal. (I usually like the semi-burned pieces too!)
    - the cheese tastes like regular kraft cheese and doesn't taste fresh at all! It has that slimy plasticky feel from the grocery store brands where the oil floats on top. *One of the owners got back to me saying that their cheese is fresh, which is nice as an assurance, but still when something doesn't TASTE fresh -- it doesn't taste fresh. I don't know why it doesn't, if it truly is fresh, but sometimes it doesn't..?

    My thoughts on the fries:
    - my immediate thought was "really? you guys are really proud of this?" I can see what they are trying to do -- have this "cool" flavor of salty and sweet. But it's a little pedestrian. I don't know how else to explain it but say that they put together a little bit of sweet spices with some salty and called it special. The seasoning is weak. I realize this might be a particular style of fries, but I'm definitely not onboard-- I need really great seasoning for my fries!
    - the fries are big and chunky, which is fine for steak-like fries but the way it's fried is disappointing. The inside of the fries are thick slabs of potato with no seasoned taste. I know they have all these other flavors but I typically try the very "base" flavors first so I know what's going on -- like getting a plain slice of cheese and getting their "regular" type of fries.

*The PRICE. My gosh, at $3.25 per slice is robbery! Even a random NYC corner joint, the slices are $2.25 and they are bigger and tastier.

I realize I'm being very critical and nit picky, but what can I say? I wasn't necessarily unhappy about my experience and I think the guys are nice, but I take my pizza very seriously. =)

Thing crust delicious pizza and the best pizza fries (must have) in the heart of old town Pasadena.  They are open till the crack of dawn.

So during PATS season a*k*a Football season to the rest of the world, I am at Jake's http://www.yelp.com/bi... every Sunday. Our crowd are all East Coast transplants and to you that do not know this... we are EXTREMELY particular about our pie. So a good "Cincinatti Bengal" friend of ours told me (prior to opening) about Brothers so I was super excited to try it out.

Yesterday I stroll up the stairs from Jake's dungeon and decide to snag myself a slice of Pie... OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good dayum Pizza! thin crust, just the right amount of greasy, cheese flavor that makes you long for a view of the Charles River while you are noshing and of the large slices that Pizza experts of course FOLD. I bought 2 slices one for myself and 1 for my car pool buddy Roque he too gave it the thumbs up (also from Boston) I can not wait to have more next time. Very friendly staff as well all smiles :)

Had a nice cold Samuel Adams winterfest with my pizza and I was good to go!! ps. the Winterfest I had at Jakes NOT Brothers :)

One of cheap place to eat in old town, great customer service, the food is good. the 8oz small portion fries is like large fries size from wendy.  The Pizza is good it is very thin, however if you eat the pizza + small fries and a drink that should fill you up.

There is nothing special about this place.  If you are looking for a good pizza this is not the place to go.  The price was very reasonable especially if you order a combo which includes a slice of pizza (cheese or pepperoni) fries (with a choice of various seasoning options) and a drink for about $6 or the cost of a beer.

The pizza dough is not hand rolled, rather it is extruded through a machine then placed in a brick oven which didn't add too much to the flavor dynamic of the pizza.  The fries are good as they are thickly sliced, and have a crunchy exterior with a soft interior while offering an array of seasoning choices.

All in all this place is great for the post-last-call snack as it is open late, reasonably priced, and located in the middle of Old Town Pasadena or just outside of Wokano's back-room bar.  As a result, I gave it three stars instead of two.

    I got so freaking lost.

It was like trying to find that damn train station in Harry Potter.......

Yeah....so anyways this place is hidden down a alley past the Cheesecake Factory (don't you DARE go in there!) and down before you hit that little diner...thing.

Sometimes I give places 5 stars while they aren't perfect because of what they do.

Brothers has Pepsi which I hate.

And they have some other little things...

BUT they produce a pizza thats unlike anything I have ever had before and I have been told by one Yelper banned from the East Coast thats whats New Yorkers eat.

Brothers totally stole the whole potatoes with pizza concept from Ireland (because potatoes are Irish crack) except they actually know how to make pizza.

Fry wise I liked the fries with just salt but they have sweet potato, sweet and sour....pizza style...like 6 freaking kinds.

Its nice to know I have a place in Old town I can grab a slice at. Not to mention all the staff is amazingly nice (I know I wasn't when I worked retail)

Its a good place to grab a pizza with friends
