This is my favorite breakfast spot in Hermosa.  Here's what makes this place great:

    1) The staff is super friendly!

    2) The burritos taste great! Instead of one giant burrito they give you two smaller ones which makes it a little easier to eat.

    3) Plenty of healthy options including wheat tortillas, egg whites, fresh veggies, coconut water, etc.

    4) The food here is a great value if you're on a budget.  Very good balance of quality and portion size for the money.

    A couple tips:

This place get's busy Saturday/Sunday mornings and it can get to be a bit of a wait.  Check out the online menu and call ahead if you want to minimize wait time.

Every burrito comes with a side of salsa.  If you love salsa as much as I do, you can ask for a large side :)

Let's make one thing crystal clear, I do not like burritos. Never in my life have i ever thought, "hmm, i feel like having a burrito today..."
that is, until i sunk my teeth into a brother's burrito!
they're freaking delicious, and they cut them in half for you so you can eat and not have food all over your face.

Woke up hungover on a Saturday morning. I crashed at my friend's place in Hermosa, and she asked if I wanted to get Breakfast Burritos.

    BREAKFAST BURRITOS??!
    Yes, please!

Looking like crap, we put on whatever clothes made us look decent and hopped in her ride to Brother's Burritos about a mile away near the beach. When we got there, parking was hell. You pretty much have to stalk people back to their cars to get a spot and that's exactly what we did.

Brother's is a tiny, blue burrito shack right next to the beach. When we walked in, the place was packed. My friend showed me the menu with twenty different kinds of breakfast burritos. I was surprised... I mean, don't Mexican places usually have maybe 3 kinds of breakfast burritos tops?! I decided to go with a Scrambler w/ wheat tortilla ($5.45) -  egg, ground turkey, spinach, green onion & jack cheese. My friend got the Spinner ($5.45) - spinach, onion, sausage, potato, egg & cheddar. Shoot, you can even make your own burrito if you don't like any of the twenty they have on the menu. Our burritos came out about 10 minutes later and to my surprise, my little red basket had two little baby burritos in them. They were exactly the same, but I guess this is how they come at Brother's. As a girl, this was extremely cute to me.

These breakfast burritos were good! They totally hit the spot and helped cure our hangovers. I really liked how they weren't too heavy or greasy either. And, if you aren't very hungry, then you can take the second one home for leftovers! Good job, brahs!

I've been here maybe twenty or thirty times in the last few years.  Brother's used to be a five-star experience, but lately it's been plagued by slow service and mistakes.  I think it really depends on who is working.  The last three times we've been the usual guy (who I assume is the owner) wasn't there.  That guy is awesome--remembers your name, genuinely happy to see you, and keeps the kitchen moving.

This last time, we spent about 5 minutes waiting in line to get our order in, and then 20 minutes waiting for the burritos.  I know it's easy to exaggerate wait times because it feels longer than it has actually been, but our friends (who ordered before us) literally spent 30 minutes waiting for their burritos--this is based on the time on their receipt.  While we were waiting we saw one guy get someone else's order, the coffee had grounds in it, and they took about ten minutes to refill the drinking water dispenser.  (A tip: If they do run out of water in the tank, you can fill your cup at the soda machine.)

Once we did get the burritos, they were great.  The only issue was that my wife got the wrong salsa.  I know it's the beach and it's a laid-back Sunday, but Brother's is capable of good service.  I'll still go back, but I really want to see them fix these issues so I can recommend them again.

egg whites, turkey, avo and brown rice burrito on wheat tortilla, can't beat it.
Only complaint is the burritos are on the small size (you get 2, but they are both small).  Service is old-school and a bit slow, but i luv the build your own healthy burrito

Epic spot no matter when it's open. We had a bar b que chicken bowl and a ground turkey burrito, both fantastic! The guys at the counter are nice, like truly nice.

I've ridden my bike by about 100 times and never stopped, I would be proud to be a regular.

    Good find.

Delicious, fresh, made-to-order burritos however you like them. Their ingredients are superb, the salsa is AWESOME, and the price is good. Also a big fan of the two smaller burritos instead of one monstrosity method. Only 4 stars because the hours (only open till 4 :-( ) and because its always 20-40minute wait. I know its fresh but c'mon I'm hungry!

Let me start off by saying ive never had the food here.

I can tell you that I've tried to eat here on three occasions.

1st time i showed up at around 3pm....they were closed.  Their sign says they close at 3pm too. My bad......but really?? That's seems damn early to me. Ok whatever it's their show.

2nd time i show up at the door at 2:40pm. Closed. There are 2 guys inside so I knocked....no one even looks up. Try to get their attention, and no luck these guys have already checked out. Awesome.

3rd time i show up at 2:20pm same deal. Closed. Guys inside, but wont acknowledge anything. I'm done with this place.

Although I'm in that area a few times a week I'll never consider going there.

Crap I hate waiting for food! I'm sitting there after I ordered and see person after person. It's the same each time, just the names are changed.
    Worker: Hey Dave $8.99
    Dave: Thanks
    Worker: Thanks
Dave pays, gets food and leaves. Me, I'm still sitting there waiting. I wait for a long time. I see so many people come in and get their food, pay and leave. I start to see a pattern. Call my burrito in next time. I finally get my burrito and it is really good. So now I just call in, so I can't complain about the wait. Waiting is for tourists.

    Healthy, surfer grub!

Reminds me of a Wahoo's but fresher and better small town feel.  Looks privately owned.

Had the protein bowl w/ avocado added and a fresh brewed iced tea.  Cost about $8.  Good local spot, but without all the calories and guilt of carne asada and beans cooked with lard, carbs, and oil.

It's 30 ft from the boardwalk.  You definitely feel like you're eating with locals only when you are here.

The food here is really good, customizable and fresh. It is a tad on the expensive side, but they are right by the beach and the food is enough for two meals. I like it better than Los Muchachos by far.

Healthy, small portions - each order comes with two small burritos, perfect for sharing or as snack. 3 types of salas available, green, mild and spicy. Side orders, brown rice, refried beans, fruit available as well.

Super friendly staff and very affordable prices for the beach cities.
Plenty of public parking available nearby.

They have good breakfast burrito's and their place is right by the pier!

Cool place for breakfast after a wild night of partying in nearby Manhattan Beach.

Their coffee also tastes very good. You can immediately taste that they are using some quality beans and not your typical inexpensive robusta beans in folgers.

Make sure to take a stroll after a nice filling breakfast!

Tri tip burritos with avocado and jack cheese?  Yes, please!

Brother's Burritos is everything you could possibly want in a burrito.  Literally.  Their burritos are delicious and easy to eat since they give you two small burritos instead of one large, hard to eat burrito.  Perfect for a quick meal between beach volleyball games!

A little pricey for burritos, but it's good eats.

Will definitely make it back here next time I'm in town!

We were in the mood for a good breakfast burrito and read some good reviews on Yelp.  Too bad I can't even comment on the food because the customer service was so horrible, it actually upset me for an entire day.  We showed up at about 9:50 right before the breakfast rush hit, mind you we put 30 minutes in our parking meter thinking that would be plenty for a quick breakfast.  After ordering 2 chorizo burriots, we sat down waiting for our food.... and waited... and waited.

30 minutes went by and our food still hadn't come - or even been made!  We went and asked the guy at the register for our money back, since our meter was out, and the guy at the register didn't even apologize or offer to expedite our order to next to be completed.  All he said was "I got you man" then made us wait another 5 minutes and gave us our money back.

That being said, we won't ever go back or even attempt to give such horrible customer service our business.

I decided to come here since it's called Brother's Burritos. I'm originally from the SF Bay Area where the burritos are the best!

Instead of ONE burrito, you'll get TWO mini burritos. But don't be fooled. It's just enough for lunch. You don't get too full but it's just right. I decided to get a custom burrito and a small fountain drink which costed me $9. A lil pricey in my book.

Not sure if the 2 mini burritos will fool you instead of one enormous burrito but my stomach was content but not my wallet so much.

Since everyone talks about the breakfast burrito, I think I'd come back here since I live pretty close to here.

Came here for hangover food...and got my wish!

Their menu is pretty extensive and you can always customize. The lady was really nice and recommended the Triple ($5.70) for a "first timer." It had tri-tip, egg, potato, onions and jack cheese. REALLY GOOD! Instead of one big burrito they split it up into 2 smaller ones...it makes it easier to eat. You can also get each burrito in a bowl instead w/ potatoes or rice instead of the tortilla.

The grill is right in front so you can actually see them making your food. No surprises. There's healthy options too...if that's your thing, but I was there for hangover food!

I'll be back again. Too many options to quit now! 4 stars.

Whenever I wake up in the morning and I'm to lazy to cook breakfast Brother's is were I head to 90% of the time. Why? Well they are only one block away from me. Second the breakfast burritos are one of the best you can get in any part of LA. Finally they split the burrito into two parts so its easy to eat and if you need to you can save some for later....which I never do.

I've only gotten take out food from here one time but I can say that I really did love my burritos. I love the fact that you get two individual small burritos, but also have the option to order as one large burrito. That being said, I was able to actually finish both small burritos when normally I can never eat a whole burrito and save at least half "for later."  With these burritos there was no later. Not sure if it's because it was a smaller portion than I'm used to, or if I was that hungry, or if they were that good.  I'll go with a combo of all of the above.

The tortillas taste fresh and handmade, like they actually care about every component of the food.  The chicken is also freshly grilled and nicely seasoned, except I could do with smaller chunks of chicken. It gets a little tedious to chew giant hunks of fowl meat. Yes, I went there.  Irrespective of that, the overall taste is really good :)

I got a custom burrito, or rather burritos, and the BF ordered the chicken fajita burrito. In my opinion that one is kind of boring - it's just chicken, fajita veggies, and cheese. In mine I opted for the brown rice, even though I was a little hesitant because in my experience brown rice is often chewy and has a weird flavor ...but not in Brother's Burritos!  It adds a unique texture to these uniquely California/beach side/Mexican treats.  I also added jack cheese because let's face it, great cheese comes from happy cows and happy cows come from California.  But mine didn't have quite as much cheese as bf's burrito...and we usually like the opposite. Lots on mine, not so much on his. Oh well, can't win 'em all.

Anyway I think the burritos are missing a little something...jalapenos, spicy salsa, something...but overall the quality is really good. And the staff are very friendly and the service is fast. We called in the order and headed over, and before we got there it was waiting for us. Yay! Didn't even have to pay for a meter!!

Come on in, and buen provecho :)

Great food. Fair price. Nice staff. I've had a different burrito each time (going down the lunch list) and enjoyed them all. Fresh ingredients and very filling. Note: burritos are served as two smaller burritos (girlfriend says "it's easier to eat!").

Also, it's one of the few places that almost always has parking available out front, which is great for those who live down the street but are typically incredibly lazy/hungover (this guy).

Oh, and don't go here if you want your burrito to be 80% rice and beans.

For the longest time, I only ordered burritos at Brother's. Then I jumped on the Paleo / Slow Carb bandwagon, which means no white starchy carbs. Naturally, I went searching for what I thought were healthier and more importantly, less tempting options, until I found out that Brother's serves burrito bowls (similar to Chipotle, but better AND local!). You can have your ingredients put over black beans, which solves my problem. Oh be still my heart! ..... My love for Brother's has been renewed.

This is going to be a very bold statement.

Chipotle, you are dead to me.

That's it, I said it and being from Denver (where Chipotle was founded for those who don't know) saying it is like being from Boston standing outside Fenway yelling "RED SOX SUCK" with a Yankees Jersey on, it's just something that's going to get your ass kicked.

However screw that, I don't care, I really don't because once you try this place, I'm sure that you'll agree.

Brothers has FLAT OUT THE BEST Chicken Burrito I've ever had in my life.

The chicken is fresh and not like "oh we're going to cook it then put it in a bin fresh" but like a "Hey throw a chicken on the grill for this dude who just ordered a burrito" kind of fresh.

    Now that's impressive.

Oh the flavor, oh dear GOD the flavor...The beans, the produce, the salsas, the tortillas the experience all impressive and I mean, "HOLY SHIT this is awesome" impressive.

8 bucks and change will feed you and quench your thrist however 16 will stuff you (I nearly went fatass style for seconds) - thank god I didn't.

    A Great Find!

By far the best breakfast burrito I've ever had.  Ever.  Sure it's different with the two small burritos, compared to one large burrito, but I like it.  For the weak or small-bellied, you can eat one now and one later.

Honestly you really can't go wrong with anything on that menu plus they have a great selection of ingredients to choose from to build your own. Although I usually just go off their menu and add/subtract a few ingredients.  PS try the french toast squares.

As far as the salsa I prefer the mild (I put a ton of Tapatio on anyways), but they're all super dank.

I have been trying to spread the word about this little gem since I found out it a couple years ago within my friends and it's always the same response. "Dude you were right, this place is better than Phanny's!"

Plus the guys who work there are some of the nicest people I've met.

Who doesn't love breakfast burritos? Who doesn't love delicious burritos or burrito bowls made with fresh ingredients?

Some people may be thanking the corporate Gods for the new Chipotle location in Hermosa Beach, but what they don't realize is there's something much better right down the street where you can encounter great food, friendly owners and support a small local business to boot!

Brother's Burritos is open for breakfast and lunch and they make some of the best burritos and burrito bowls around! When you order a burrito here you don't get a monster burrito that's hard to handle, you get two neatly wrapped burritos which are just as filling but much easier to navigate.

Can you get breakfast items at Chipotle? I'm afraid NOT! Can you get brown rice at Chipotle? NEGATORY! Do you get the option of including ingredients like asparagus, spinach, egg whites, sausage, bacon, tri-tip, or a wheat tortilla in your order at Chipotle? Me thinks... Nope!

Prices are also better here so do yourself, your tastebuds, your health and your wallet a favor and try this place out..... Don't forget to thank me later :)

I was kind of curious to stop by and try this new place out after all my coworkers had been raving about it all week.  I bought the tri-tip burrito with green onions, black beans, avocado, spicy salsa and cheese and the spicy chicken quesadilla.

I found the tri-tip burrito to be pretty bland HOWEVER the ingredients did taste fresh, of good quality and actually pretty healthy.  The spicy chicken quesadilla has a hint of habanero which was awsome and super delicious.

I would go back and recommend this place because of the fresh ingredients and because it seems to be a healthy alternative to mexican food.

I really don't understand how this place has such a high average rating. The people are very friendly and you can make some healthy choices, but do you really go to a BURRITO place to eat "light and healthy?!?"

Yeah, not unless you live in the South Bay (which I have and LOVE IT) and don't know what real Mexican food tastes like.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't hate my burrito at all, it just didn't come with chips/salsa, the salsa is MEH, and I think it's on the expensive side for burritos.

Overall, as I said, the eating experience was alright, but no where near the 4+ stars it has. You can find MUCH better burritos elsewhere -- you can't find the same proximity to the beautiful beach elsewhere though!
