Incredible service. Kind, attentive, polite. Ordered my meal with tons of exceptions. Waitress got everyone of them correct, and the food was delicious ( breakfast menu). Price for value was excellent

Good ole greasy spoon diner spot with friendly staff. Sit at the breakfast bar, drink your coffee, chat about the weather and the Pats, etc. Food was basic, but exactly as I expected. Pancakes were nice and fluffy, but would have been even better if they had some real maple syrup instead of the stuff that comes in the little packages where you tear the top off and pour it on. Good prices and atmosphere.

It's simple: go. If you're looking for a quiet, unassuming, hidden hole-in-the wall - with great breakfasts, great service, this is the place. Went after dropping my aunt at train - looks odd from street - no windows (plenty on side and back). Had great omelette, good coffee, hash browns. Friendly waitress. Couple electrical worker trucks parked to eat there too - always a good sign. Local hangout. Clean bathrooms too! Breakfast for two - $20.

I was in South Norwood, and I thought I would give this place a try after reading decent reviews. I got the usual eggs with sausage. The home fries were way too spicy, but the meal was very good. Fast service and very friendly staff. It is a place for locals.
The waitresses were very busy chatting with the regular customers. The parking lot is very small, but plenty of street parking. The entrance is on the side. They have a small counter which worked fine for me. The place is bright, clean and modern. -

The Brookside has an extensive breakfast menu complete with several Benedict's. I tried the Steak Tip Bene because I have always wanted to try steak and eggs and why not coat it all in hollandaise sauce.
The staff here was very friendly and helpful. Accommodating a large party on a moments notice. The food was great and service remained fantastic throughout the meal. They are cash only so make sure to bring some. -

My favorite breakfast place in the Norwood area. My boyfriend and I are regulars, and most of the staff remember our typical breakfast orders. It is casual and bright, you can seat yourself wherever you like, and the prices are great! The owner and wait staff are really friendly and super nice. Parking lot is small, but there is always plenty of parking on the street. I highly recommend ordering banana pancakes with pecans! Yummy.

They have a great breakfast and usually prompt service. Their home fries are wonderful (they also have hasbrowns but they're the preshaped kind that go in the deep fryer - meh). I used to have breakfast here at least one Sunday a month, whether I have company or not. They offer some interesting omelet options you would not expect the find at a local restaurant. Alas, they cash only (the reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars) - this is the only

The Brookside is atruly hidden gem... It is a family owned place and everyone there is WONDERFUL! I can't even imagine ANY of the waitstaff being rude. Karen is dreaming! The food is excellent, well prepared and prices are very reasonable. They are open for breakfast and lunch every day and till 8pm on Thurs and Fri for dinner. (the dinner is seasonal) Try it, its a truly great place!

Drive by this place first thing in the morning and you'll see at least a dozen cars parked out front. We decided to go for breakfast. The place is clean, surprisingly big, and they have traditional (think Denny's or Bickfords) style breakfast foods. A pretty decent place overall.

We live right around the corner from here, and have now become converts- we have been going to Murph's for the past year and a half. Having tried Brookside again, I say, "Murph's who?"
The staff is darling- so friendly and attentive. The menu is not huge for breakfast, but, the food is outstanding. All fresh and tasty. Prices are great and the place is so clean. I get the dive-y breakfast thing, but I like when I see things shining in the kitchen and a counter top free of sticky things.

Ones of the many breakfast joints in Norwood. This is not one of the better ones. I think Murph's and Mug n Muffin are better. It is in a convenient spot in South Norwood. There is plenty of parking. The staff is very friendly and do a really good job. I just wish the food was a bit better. Stay away from the omelets and the hash browns. The place is clean and food comes out promptly. I would go back and try other things on the menu but as of right now I will stick to Murph's or Mug n Muffin.

Norwood, MA
Wow, used to like this place for breakfast, but, after being charged $30- this past weekend, for 2 short stacks with 2 eggs and fruit, with 2 coffees and 1 juice, and no meat, we were then rudely spoken to and argued with by the server, so, I will not be going there again. I've never been charged close to $30- for 2 breakfasts anywhere in my life. Ridiculous. Get some professional servers please. We won"t be back.

The Brookside is a hidden gem. Friendly staff, fast service. Sausages and the hash are great. Quality food for a reasonable price. Real Maple Syrup is a bonus. Hope to return very soon.
