Review from Rachel K.
Bailey, CO
Realistically, it would be 3.5 stars but I'm grading on the curve (again) and rounded up. Also, my friend said he thought he would give his dinner 4 stars.... so, 4 it is.
We finally went back to Brooks yesterday evening and arrived at the tail end of their Friday evening rush. Yes, there was quite a wait but being offered and promptly served drinks by the very friendly waitstaff while we were waiting helped make the time pass more quickly. No one can fault them for the wait but we can credit them for making the most out of the time their patrons are waiting. Thanks for that. The beers we had were lovely.
We remembered that the potato skins we're meh and overpriced last time so we decided to try the chips and salsa plus guacamole as we were famished and the IPA I drank while waiting needed to have food along with it. Unfortunately, these appetizers were also very meh. Not bad but tasting like they came from jars and canisters. The guacamole was far better than the salsa but both need improving. When I get salsa in a restaurant, I expect it to be at least as good if not better than what I make at home (or can buy in a store). This wasn't the case.
We also both ordered burgers and side Caesar salads - My friend ordered a bacon burger (can't remember the name) and I ordered the Bronco burger again. I LOVE horseradish and especially a horseradish/cheddar blend - and I dare say it really hit the spot. It was better than the previous time I had ordered it - this time having both more horseradish and more cheddar. The salads were also very nice and the waiter was absolutely incredible - friendly while clearly knowing how to hustle.
The biggest complaint was that the appetizer, salad and dinner arrived all within a very few minutes of each other, leaving little room on the table, causing us to turn in the appetizers before we were quite done with them and causing us to feel truly rushed. By the time we were seated, there no longer was a wait and tables were empty once the appetizers arrived. There could and should have been more time between these items. If we had known how closely together we would have received everything we had ordered and how mediocre the chips and salsa were, we definitely would not have ordered an appetizer. I think next time we'll stick to salads and/or maybe try a soup.
Still, we now know we'll be back and may even go back fairly regularly as the "nearby" place for burgers and beer (even if the burgers are still a bit pricey by mountain standards).
I will add one last little thing: Really good, gourmet-style burgers need condiments that are better than the Heinz variety. You need to have a good deli-style/stone ground mustard and/or A1 or Worcestershire Sauce. This would have turned a 4 star burger into a 5+ star burger - thereby making it far more worthy of the price.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Aspen Park, CO
I love Brooks! Their service is great, everyone is so friendly. As someone who has just moved to the area I can't begin to explain how nice it is to go somewhere new (where there are obviously many 'regulars') and have people be NICE and genuinely seem happy that you're there.
The food is great, I like to order whatever the house specialties are... you can't go wrong that way. My husband loved Brooks also, I can already tell this will be on a regular rotation for us. They have a good beer & wine selection also, which is always a plus. -

We ate here once. The food was decent; nothing special, just solid and edible. The service was very slow and inattentive. At meal's end, my coffee came out luke warm.
Overall, I would only eat here if there wasn't a decent alternative. -
Review from Laura P.
Evergreen, CO
We went there last night for the first time, and I'm really happy to have found this place. We moved to Evergreen a few months ago, and there's a shortage of places that have good beer on tap and vegetarian menu options - this place fits the bill. The food is good quality, nothing fancy, but there are some unique options compared to the usual sports bar. The lavosh is so good! I had the black bean burger, which was messy, but delicious! So much better than the typical frozen "veggie burger." We will definitely be back!

We've been here a few times and each time it's been great. They have a super Caesar side salad. The buffalo chili is very good too. Their pastrami sandwich is huge! Good music, great staff, awesome patio area.

I love this place! It's one of the few places in the area where you can find a good selection of quality beers and a staff who knows what an IPA is. The food is great also. You can't go wrong here. I'll be back over and over again for sure.

Brooks gets better every time we go. The food is nothing great, but pretty good for a bar. The service is good, not great, with the exception of the bartender who is very friendly and attentive. So we like to sit at the bar and eat. Good sports bar.

Lots of tv's, not lots of menu selection for dairy allergies, but did give us honest service. Friendly staff, but overall kinda lame. Might be better if in during a sports game with friends.

Bailey, CO
We like to give our local restaurants a chance but his one has never improved over the first time we ate there. They apparently need a better system for all operations. We have gotten tea instead of coffee, cold soup, no fries with sandwiches, poor service, seat yourself /wait to be seated ( we can never tell what is expected here and the staff is unhelpful)...Like so many places in the Conifer/Bailey area, one is left feeling like an interloper when all we wanted was a nice little lunch. A couple of appetizers on the menu are very good so we have decided that this place is okay to visit for a beer and a snack but that is all.

We were referred here by our B&B manager and loved it. It's a little hard to find as there was only one small banner on a post. It,s below the closed steakhouse across from Sonic.
My wife had a cheeseburger and fries while I had a veggie Brooks Burger.. Lots of peppers and very spicy-loved it.
We talked to the bartender some and he was very friendly. Looks like they have a great menu and would highly recommend them. -

I took my two boys to Brooks and ordered a salad for myself and mac n' cheese for my kids. The mac n' cheese is homemade, unlike so many restaurants out there who serve Kraft for $5. (hate that)
Brooks' mac n' cheese was "great" according to my kiddos, which makes me happy.
My salad was fantastic. I ordered the Greek chop and it was very tasty. I got it with grilled chicken on it and that was wonderful as well.
Service was top-notch as well. The manager/owner? was there and she was very nice and attentive.
Great place. Can't wait for a little March Madness at Brooks Place. -

Good food. Great / Personalized Service / Good Prices.
Cozy bar that is family friendly. There are TVs all over the place and this was the perfect spot to watch a lil NCAA. Owners and staff go a great job of checking in with you to make sure you're taken care of.
We live in Evergreen and we'd come here again over any other sports bar in the Evergreen/Conifer area. -

Second visit today. About 6 other parties having lunch. Fast friendly service again.
Food portions and quality was excellent again. I had steak sandwich with au jous dipping sauce. Awesome. The fries were good size and quantity and well seasoned. Unfortunately they were bone dry inside.
Grilled cheese sandwich with fruit side was great too.
Becoming a regular here. Good food, good prices.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Nice place to grab a drink and a snack. The atmosphere is nice, comfortable seating, view of the mountains, open kitchen so you can watch your food being cooked. We were waiting for check-in time at our B&B so needed a snack and a drink. I had a bloody Mary that was prepared spicy. Really tasty choice and they use lots of garnishes, lemon, lime, a pepper, olives and celery stick a lot of stuff for one glass. My husband and I shared the chicken nachos. The tortilla chips are the multi-colored ones that are out of a bag, not that impressive. The chicken is cooked fresh which was a great touch and made the nachos really good. The green chili that comes on top has a nice kick to it. Our waitress was nice and kept our drinks full. Took some time to get a glass of water and the water has a chlorine taste to it so I wouldn't recommend ordering tap water from here. The bathrooms are crazy clean and really nicely decorated. I would return here for a drink and maybe try out more of the menu.

Love Brooks. No idea why Yelp shows it as closed. May have confused it with the other restaurant upstairs that closed, deservedly so.

You kidding me? We stumbled upon this place after a long hike and was impressed beyond all expectations. Food, service, and beer selections were as good as anything we've experienced. Thanks BPT - WE'LL BE BACK!

I was really sad to see Sushi Hai go, but I think Brooks Place probably fits this area better and will hopefully stay. My hubby and I had the Greek Wrap which was delicious. The waitress was friendly but bit too chatty with us. Overall, its a good place especially if you like sports - tons of tvs for your viewing pleasure.

I went to Brooks Place for the first time this past weekend for their breakfast offering and was very disappointed. I ordered two eggs with bacon and hashbrowns plus I got a couple of pancakes on the side.
The pancakes were only lightly browned on ONE side and came to me cold. The butter wouldn't even melt on them! Also the scrambled eggs had an funny and somewhat greasy taste . . . There was nothing enjoyable about the meal. But I thought I should check it out since it's only 10 minutes from home.
If you're looking for a great breakfast in the foothills, travel a little further down 285 and go to the Cutthroat Cafe in Bailey! -

Brook Place Tavern opened over Labor Day Weekend. The food has been consistently great and the service is excellent. It is a sports bar so there are plenty of TVs available to watch everything from football to hockey to basketball college or pro. They have an excellent selection of beers on tap and a wonderful happy hour price. The happy hour is 3-630. All beers, house wines and well drinks are $3. They also have specials on some appetizers too. One or both of the owners are always available. They have karoke on Friday and occasional bands on Sat. Although I am not a fan of karoke - I am a local and a huge fan of Brooks Place overall!
