My husband was adamant that he wanted a real bow tie for him and his groomsmen. Brooks Brothers was having a January sale so we bought 9.
One small problem-- my husband forgot to practice on how to tie a bow tie. Instead of asking the DOC for help, the guys were googling about 10 minutes before they were supposed to be ready. This is after a day of sitting around watching the Cubs play and drinking beer.
I've gone completely off topic here. I would recommend Brooks Brothers. I would not recommend getting real bow-ties unless your fiance is positive he knows what he is doing.
I was sort of a hassle of a customer, and Barbara did a fabulous job. Plus it's at the Rookery - what not to like?
My husband loves Brooks Brothers clothing and this location is close to my work so I've been there for Christmas gifts and birthday presents. Can't beat the selection--far more merchandise than the Mag Mile location--maybe because it's in a less busy area. However, I don't really get the great service that others talk about. I walk in and usually have to approach someone (and sometimes two people because the first will pass me off to someone else) to ask for help even if three of the workers are standing around talking. Not sure why that is but it's very frustrating. Brooks Brothers isn't quite The Gap so I would expect to get better service.
AWESOME experience.......the store by the Board of Trade is a beautiful building and fantastic in every way....everyone is friendly and the selection is great.
I went on September 2 during the 1/2 price suite sale and was helped by Robert Urgo. He is AWESOME, friendly, knowledgeable with a great feel for style and fit.
It was a pleasant experience and I hate to shop. The sale was great and I got another 15% off by applying for a Brooks Brothers credit card.
If you need to look good this is the place to go!
I feel like an old man when I walk into Brooks Brothers. I admire their classic approach to fashion and modern style. I love their travel and accessory section. I adore their argyle socks and cheeky bow ties and hounds tooth jackets and tweed overcoats. My god, when did this happen? When did I become some perverse cross between Ward Cleaver and Mr. Rogers? I changed my shoes when I got to work today for Christ's sake! Also I have found that single mothers have begun to catch my eye. Lord help me! I just like this store so damn much. I'm afraid to find out where this path will lead...
Brooks Bros is my favorite men's clothing store. It helps that it's near where a work and play, but the staff at The Rookery [a stunning space always impeccably stocked and merchandised] is second to none. I am always greeted when I walk in and always offered service. They have some great values throughout the year including discounts when like items are purchased in quantities, so it can be very affordable. Be sure to check out their website for end of season discounts and information on the Brooks Bros credit card and rewards program.
Expensive but very much quality, need I say more?
Coupled with the fact that this place is in one of the most beautiful buildings in Chicago, the Rookery, Brooks Brothers is my favorite brands for work shirts. They're built like a Mercedes and can take just as much wear! Since everything here is, "classic," buy it on sale.
I love Brooks Brothers and hadn't been to this location. Although is was extremely busy on a Friday after work everyone was very helpful . Especially the nice woman who rang me up and told me about the great sale this past weekend. I managed to save 20 percent on everything. Great layout, great selection. I plan to shop here a lot more in the near future.
