Ok definitely not the best pizza in the world but it's decent.  Ridgewood is my least fave of the 3 locations, the others would get 4 stars.  Not sure what it is about this location, it was very dark and deserted when we went for lunch.  No one walked in the whole time we were there.  We ordered a small pie, half pepperoni. It was def big enough for the two of us but the amount of cheese and sauce started to make it soggy after awhile.  The pepperoni didn't have the nice kick of spice to it that I usually like.  The other locations have the combination of ingredients down pat.  Service was good but again, we were the only ones there the whole time.

Will give it one more shot before heading solely to the other locations!

    Not great.

Pepperoni and sauce carried the flavor, but the rest was less than desirable.

    Pass.

My favorite part about this place was the dough...in the form of breadsticks, garlic bread that looks like an entire pizza, and then the pizza of course!  I might have picked the wrong toppings and didn't really like the eggplant on the pizza!  The salads are huge though and enough for a family of 4 to share!  The service was friendly and quick.  The restuarant itself is on the small side but we fit comfortably!  By the way, they only accept cash and definitely are byob!

The staff was friendly and the service was amazing. The only problem was that the tables were just too close to each others. The pizza was not the best pizza i have every had, it lacked flavor.

For jersey pizza you can't go wrong! The ingredients are fresh and the pizza is cooked in a coal oven. Most would consider this "gourmet" pizza and not your average pie from down the block. Bring cash because they don't accept plastic but it will be worth your trip.  The pies are margarita style and don't forget your wine or beer as this is byob

This is some damn good pizza. Shop at fairway and come have a piece of heaven. Nice crust; nice flavor. Yum.

Not as good as what New Haven can serve up, but easily a top pizza.

One of those rate pizza places with a coal burning oven. Great pizza with fresh ingredients.
These people own 3 places (Ridgewood, Hackensack and Edgewater). I liked the Hackensack one better, but I've only been to Ridgewood once.

5 stars? This place doesn't deserve five stars. I'm not sure from reading about it if this location is related to the Grimaldi's locations in Brooklyn & Hoboken, or if they are rivals, but either way it's a mere shadow of them.

When the pie is served it looks very similar to the superb Brooklyn/Hoboken Grimaldi's pie. Fresh ingredients, good charcoaly crust. But when you bite into it, it's got this oddly burnt flavor. We checked the bottom of the pizza and it wasn't burnt looking, just very burnt tasting. It was all very strange. "Maybe their oven needs to be cleaned?" we wondered. After overhearing the people at the next table saying the same, it was comforting to know that we weren't the only confused patrons.

The service was also very slow. If you are looking for a good pizza in  Ridgewood, go to Amano's instead.

Ok. Here is the deal. They have really great pizza at all 3 locations. However, Ridgewood is bringing them down from 4 stars to 3 because it is so inconsistent.
My family and I get Brooklyn pizza every week and most times have to go to Ridgewood location. Sometimes the pizza is excellent and other times, like tonight, it is over sauced, under cooked, and soggy. It is a fine line between coal cooked perfection and a wet, sloppy pie. The Hackensack and edgewater locations walk this line well and turn out great pies.
So, I say go to those 2 until they get Ridgewood fixed. The pizza is great when done as intended.

Great tasting pizza and cute little sit down in Ridgewood. The place is pretty noisy if full, but their turnaround time is quick and their appetizers are yummy!

I don't know if I can take this yelp! Community seriously anymore. I wanted a casual dinner...nothing crazy, just quality eats. What better than pizza?? (surprise, surprise) I checked out some reviews and this place came highly recommended. The fact that it was BYOB is the only Pro of my dining experience.

Before we even stepped a foot in the place my gf asked, "are you kidding me? " This place looked like your average neighborhood pizzeria right down to the Mexican busboy posing to be Itailian. But I've done "research" plus I'm a huge fan of both the travel channel and food network (man vs food, diners dives and drive ins, etc) Who am I to judge a book by it's cover?...stupid

I ordered the "fresh" mozz tomato and basil salad to start...the mozz, or should I say white hockey puck had the consistency of an uncooked potato. The basil probably came off the spice rack from the nearest supermarket. To top it off, the tomatoes and lettuce looked like someone ordered 4 whoppers and salvaged the veggies for spare parts. Please use fresh ingredients... especially with such simple, traditional dishes. Oh, she ordered a Ceasar salad which they managed to screw up by drowning it in Hidden Valley dressing.

The pizza was nothing special. It was mediocre at best. You people need to stop going to these restaurants baked out of your minds. Simply put, give credit where credit is deserved.... Unless of course you are a simpleton, in which case, you just don't know any better.

Because the reviews on Yelp were a big mix... I decided to bite the bullet and give it a whirl.  And I'm so glad that I did!  My husband and I ordered the "small" garlic bread and what came out was about the size of a normal pizza.  WOW.  It tasted great and we even took the leftover home with us.  Then we decided to try a stromboli since we haven't had that in a  long time.  We got the small again and it came out to a pretty decent size.  About 4 pieces to it and if we both weren't starving that night we could've split that with another adult.  It was the eggplant parm one and was delicious.  Though, to be honest, it wasn't what I'm used to a stromboli being.  It seemed to be more of a calzone (which they also make) and I think if they rolled it one more time it would've been amazing!  The dough was nice and crunchy with a bit of tenderness on the inside.... YUM!

    I'm definitely going back!

Some things to note: they still only take cash and it's byob.  I wish I had known about the byob because we would've brought something along.  We'll just have to do that next time!

Nice gourmet pizza. You pay a bit of a premium but that's Ridgewood. Desserts have a decidedly store bought feel to them. Service is mediocre to good.

    Anotha slice?  Yes Paaaleeez.

I travel South from CT and find myself in Ridgewood, NJ.  I'm starvin and it's not quite dinner time.  Finally dinner time rolls around and we order this nice pie form Brooklyn's.  No toppings, just cheese.

I see a bright, freshly made tomato sauce.  I see huge blotches of Di Buffala Mozzarella.  I smell a very good pizza pie.  As the teeth sink in, I feel a crisp, yet soft crust.  And.......it's good!

Fast forward six months and repeat.

-1 star for the prices, which are a touch high.  However, a very good pie and a must stop if in the area.

Nice local joint. The pizza was really good, very fresh ingredients, nice smoky and dense crust. The price is very reasonable and the large Pizza was good for three hungry adults.
The service was very fast and convenient for a late lunch.
I tried it because of other Yelp recommendations and I was not disappointed.

Went there last weekend. This is a great pie. The fresh mozz, the fresh sauce, the fresh basil. The crust is just doughy enough and just crispy enough. When you walk in the place you get a great impression, it smells great, though it appeared that the hostess was a little flustered. The staff was helpful, though they forgot our waters and drinks until right before our pizzas came and we reminded them, but it was busy and the food made up for it so we didn't get too up in arms over it. I'd still opt for the Hackensack location as it's got less of a crowd and less ::cough:: yuppies ::cough:: so its definitely more my scene. On the whole a great pizza though.

This is the best pizza in NJ. Delicious, fresh ingredients, including fresh mozzarella so the pizza isn't greasy. The tomato sauce is light and fresh. By far the best pizza. Also try the mozzarella sticks, they are to die for! Last time we went they only accepted cash, not sure if this policy has changed or not. (Sorry- this was regarding the Edgewater location- don't know about the Ridgewood one)

I came here with my friend and we tried the white pizza. We really enjoyed our pizza, the service, and the decor. The pizza tasted a lot like Grimaldi's, which is great! I'm so happy I can get Grimaldi's quality here in Ridgewood without having to stand in line all the way in Brooklyn.

We ordered a salad and two large pies. This place does not deliver, which was not a big deal for us but may be for others.

The salad was a cold antipasto, and was very good. It did not come with any dressing, and while an oil/vinegar would have been nice, it didn't take away from how good it was. All of the ingredients were very fresh, from the lettuce to the mozzarella (which is homemade).

The pizza was great, but there was one disappointment I've seen others point out. The pizza comes in bags, which would be fine (even desirable since it's less clutter when thrown away), but they do not keep the pizza warm. As soon as we got it home, the oven had to be immediately turned on to heat up the pizzas. However, when warm, both pizzas were excellent. The cheese is their fresh homemade mozzarella, and the eggplant pie was one of the best pizzas I've ever had.

This place is definitely worth a try, but be prepared to heat up your pizza the minute you get home.

Excellent pizza that ranks in my top 10 of all-time and is my go-to local favorite. It's thin crust pizza with fresh ingredients (real mozzarella and tomatoes) and the brick oven preparation enables the pizza to be cooked to perfection as the components blend into this medley of chewy goodness. For first-timers, the ideal selection would be the pepperoni pizza, as the taste of pepperoni permeates each bite.

meeeeeeehhhhh.  ordered the salad (the most generic-est salad ever!) and an 18-inch pizza with sausage, onions, and mushrooms.  the pizza took forever.  the onions were chopped too big and undercooked so it took over the taste of the pizza.  i don't like when it's sliced sausages (i like the chunky type found on pizza hut, etc.) so that was another downer.  overall the taste was quite bland and left me wanting more.  and they only take cash.  which they should really make more clear bc luckily we just happened to have enough cash on us to cover the bill.  the staff was pretty nice though.
