Stopped in after Roger Waters at the Pepsi Center. We were looking for somewhere to have a nightcap after an awesome concert so we walked over to Brooklyn's. Pink Floyd was blasting through the speakers to attract concert-goers, as if we hadn't had enough Pink Floyd after being at the concert for 2.5 hours (Who could ever get enough of that awesome stuff?).
It was pretty crowded for 11 o clock at night with people eating gourds of food after smoking all that stuff that gives the honest man the munchies. We didnt eat but we looked at the menu and they have burgers, salads, bar appetizers, and just about anything you would imagine coming out of a bar near a sports arena.
Our waitress was ok, she seemed pretty flustered and gave off a "tell me what you want and hurry up" vibe. We had one beer a piece and were out. It was busy after a concert, I can only imagine how busy it is before an Avalanche or Nuggets game. In my opinion there are better places nearby if you are willing to walk around a bit more.

Meh, not the greatest nor the worst.

I attended an event hosted by some friends here with 60+ people on a Saturday night. It worked out quite well as the space is insane huge and so we just got the entire upper level (which has its own bar and set of restrooms)

However, the service was RUDE and hella lame. With that many young booze hounds spending lots of collective $ on an annual event, they did not need to scold us or be so damn insulting. A manager yelled at a group of us who had gathered saying something like how we needed to move so they could clean to prepare for us. Then, they did jack squat to clean the space - there was food all over the floor from all the people eating there before we all arrived. And, the bar tender must've hated us or his life or something as he was a total jerk.

The space was cool and they allowed a bunch of us to become loud obnoxious animals and as far as I know no one got kicked out, so they get a couple stars. They also provided two large munchie trays, one was cheese & crackers and the other was fruits. Those were yummy.

I will never go here unless it is for something special, but if you have a big event and need lots of space this place works if you don't mind being treated like crap.

We got tickets to watch Cirque's Immortal Tour (Michael Jackson) a few months ago and of course it happened to be the night Broncos made it to playoffs!!! Since this is right next to the Pepsi Center we came here for pre-festivities and to watch what we could of the game.

We knew this place would be packed so tried to make reservations earlier that day (as suggested by their website) but when we called, the nice hostess said they don't accept same-day reservations. By the time we got there it was pretty full already (an hour before the game). And then within ten minutes there was a wait. It kind of sucked because there was a booth next to our table marked "Reserved" but no one sat there for the two hours we were there. By then, the place was so packed that people starting standing a little too close to the monitors and a couple (different) groups of fans got into shouting matches. Don't mess with a fan trying to watch the game!

The service was slow and our waitress seemed tired but nice. Ordered salads, the Cobb and Taco. It took a good twenty minutes. Tasty but nothing special, really. We also got fries... Nothing special about those either.

Overall, this is a great place to hang-out with other fans, to be honest. And I felt like that was the point. When the Broncos starting passing (FINALLY) you could feel the floor shake from everyone standing up and rioting - it was pretty awesome. For food and service, just expect it to be okay. Come for the camaraderie that comes with being a sports fan.

I came here a night before a Broncos game, the place was of course packed but they should have expected that. It took over 20mins for a server to greet our table. She was not friendly at all. We ordered a round of beers and let her know that we were just drinking she rolled her eyes at us and stormed off.

15mins later our beer arrived, she slammed it down on the table so hard that half of my beer foamed over. I walked up to the bar to ask for a new beer and explain the situation, this was the redeeming part of my experience, the bartender apologized and replaced me beer at no cost, and we also got the next two beers on the house.

I want to try to go in here when it is less busy and give the food a try it looked really good.

Honestly, disappointing. They just plain dont care. Went in last sunday before the bronco game. Waited an hour and a half after we ordered and never got our food. Asked for a manager, and they never came by. Waitress just played the blame game, didnt comp us anything for the trouble and then when we told her we couldnt wait any longer she presents us with a check with the food we never got on it.

When we left, I noticed they had about 6 trays with some odd 30 plates and waiters and runners were ruffling through reciepts trying to figure out where the plates went while a manager, I presume (blonde girl with radio walky talky thing) stood at the top of the staircase leaning against the railing not paying attention to them at all.

Never have had a good meal here. Never will go back again.

Brooklyn's is a decent stopoff before heading over to the Pepsi Center for a Nuggets or Avs game.  Maybe I've just had bad luck but everytime I've been there the service has been subpar.  The staff is friendly enough, but I think they are often overwhelmed and so tables and orders get mixed up.  Again, maybe I've just had bad luck, but that has been my experience.  The food isn't the best you'll ever have, but it's not awful either, and it's a good alternative to the expensive and limited food options inside the Pepsi Center.

I came here the other night before the Av's vs Blackhawks game and found it to be just like any other sports bar in downtown.

    -full bar.
    -quick & easy finger food.
-cheaper than the pepsi center, but expensive beers/cocktails.
    -packed to the gills.

of course, we'll come back as it's the closest place to buy beer  before a game, but oye.

I can't say much for Brooklyn's I don't hate it but I wouldn't go there if it wasn't before a hockey game. We always go meet our friends grab a drink before attending a game...I dislike that it's so crowded if you order anything but drinks you won't get it for like an hour and I don't care much for the fact that getting just water never seems to happen...the food I tried that my friend ordered (45 minutes before we got there and she got it after we sat down and got drinks) was not bad. it was a burger and fries which were pretty good...all in all - I wouldn't go there if I didn't have to. Prices are alright though

The best dang thing I've had at this place are the Mac & Cheese bites with ranch dressing! Simply to die for! Besides that, this is a good place to hang out before heading to Pepsi Center for a game. Our drinks were pretty strong. I had a margarita and my friend had a vodka lemonade concoction that was delicious. The have an array of burgers to choose from and almost any burger can be changed to chicken. My burger was okay as I don't remember the name of it. Only that it had avocado, cheese and bacon on it. Most the best but not the worst either. I hope to try something else next time around!

This is the epidemy of lousy service, horrible food and corporate un-caring America.  The only thing that wasn't disappointing about this place was the bathrooms were clean.

This place is definitely always packed on game days. If you're going before a game, give it like 2 hours ahead of time minimum though because you'll never see your food if you've only got 1.

The service is good, but there's just too many people around because it's so convenient.

I went there on Sunday (10/2/11) after the breast cancer walk. We were sat immediately, however, we ordered nachos that came out cold and burned, and queso that was over-cooked and curdled. We replaced the queso with another nacho which looked better, yet we still had to pay for that order. Pretty disappointed and will not be returning, as with the 7 other people in my party. It's a good thing tip was added on....  Their bloody mary's were decent, though.

Came here after the U2 concert for a late night bite.  It was dead when we got here, but filled up quickly.

We just got an order of Nacho's and they were OK, not the best and not the worst, but satisfied our munchy feeling.  They were playing U2 music which was a nice wrap for the evening.

Have not been here to eat in a while but venture to guess everything is not freshly prepared, but it did the trick.

Brooklyn's was converted into the CNN Grill during the recent Democratic Convention.  My updated review is to honor the Brooklyn's employees for making it through this experience.  Many of them made very good money during the convention, as did so many in Denver during this event.

Beyond that, though, the employees all had to go through a Federal Security check,  and park miles from work, and deal with hyper-stressed crowds of people who didn't care much about the human being taking their order / cooking their food / cleaning their tables & dishes.  They were primarily focused on the tasks at hand.  Such is reality.

What the employees experienced is a completely changed menu, mega-questions about  "how's this entree?",  "how are the wings?" etc. when the employees had not ever had a chance to try much of anything on the new menu.  Sure, they could always fake it and say "oh, it's all so good!" but customers know when you're faking it.  They truly do.

The employees got to help re-decorate the whole place, including painting, etc. to transform it into CNN Grill, and then had 2 days to turn it back into Brooklyn's afterward.

What an adventure.  They all got good souvenirs and such, but it was exhausting.

I just wanted to commend everyone at Brooklyn's for their hard work!  You rock!!!

Holy bejebus this place is big! I stopped by here yesterday before going to the sad event that was the Nuggets in a playoff game and was quite simply amazed at how many bodies they could legally fit inside.

It looked like they had traditional bar food and they definitely had a bazillion T.V.s as all good sports bars do. The thing that really impressed me, however, and the reason I give Brooklyn's four stars is that no matter how many people were crowded in there it never took more than a couple of minutes to get a drink. And when we did sit at a table, a server came over immediately. It was awesome service considering how packed it was in there.

Beyond that the place has a nice atmosphere with a very large patio that you can enjoy in warmer weather. I'd recommend having a drink here before attending an event at the Pepsi Center any time.

I like it.  It appears to be a locals spot (when there isn't a game) - where the staff and patrons are friendly with one another.  On more than one occasion, I heard the staff & customers referring to each other by first name.  That really says a lot - when people are willing to frequent a place, plus have a personal relationship with the staff, you can't help but conclude that the staff actually have a vested relationship with their customers and their jobs.

Also, the burgers are absolutely awesome.  The steak bits are even better ... and BEER - well, they do need more than just your staples, plus fat tire on tap.

Overall, super friendly and a great place to spend a couple of hours with friends over beers and b.s.

Stopped here last monday before MNF-- the place was PACKED (great sign)! It is definitely impressively sized, and our wait that was estimated "20 minutes" ended up being probably half that for 4 people, so don't let that discourage you. The beer selection is just fine, and the service was surprisingly fast and friendly considering how swamped they were. The menu had lots of potentially tasty stuff, but I went with the pulled pork sandwich and snagged a couple wings off my friend. The wings are a great bargain, and the pulled pork, while a little light on the sauce, was also good. Would definitely go back, especially on sunday.

I received complete different service than the 2 previous reviewers.  Perhaps because it was slow or perhaps to the fact that nada was occurring at the Pepsi center and no sports drawing games were available for drunken yelling pleasure.

Clean, warm woodsy bar feel with some contemporary flair.  Waiter was prompt at getting our drink order and our dinner order.  Nugget sandwich (chicken, BBQ, fried onion), Hamburger with Avocado, and Classic Caesar took the normal amount of time though I'd hate to see how long I'd have to wait for my food during their rush hour.  Typical fries, but lots of gooey cheese on my chicken and that made me happy.  They were more than willing to 86 the onion and keep the BBQ sauce on the side.  The sandwich ran me 8.95.  My friend was surprised of the quality of her Caesar salad . Caesar doesn't receive the same amount of attention from every joe schmoe to hoity toity food place.  I believe if you order a Caesar you might as well be playing craps at the same time.

This place is better for college students, since we get a 5% discount.  More than likely I'll be here for the Monday night game when the Broncs whoop some cheese heads and a geriatric quarter back ;)

I dig Brooklyn's, but i've also never been here during--or immediately after-- an event at the Pepsi center, so i couldn't tell you about its busy hours; I have, however, been here from the hours of noon to 4 during the week.

You see, it's a mere 500 yards (or so) from the Auraria campus; a mere 500 yards (or so) from everything school related; and thus, a mere 500 yards (or so) to the closest decent watering hole.

That being said, i haunt this place like Casper would a playground. But, pretty much, only during the school year. And I'm glad that it's Brooklyn's in lieu of some other, dingier, less wood-paneled bar (check anchorman: i'm a sucker for the smell rich mahogany).

The interior of Brooklyn's is ridiculous--i have a hard time imagining it full, it's so large (and deep dark wood paneled!)...I bet serving during those times is hectic. But not when i go. Oh, no, when i go i could sit on the right wing, left wing, upstairs (actually, i've never even stepped into that foreign place that is the upstairs), or the rear wing. But, instead, i sit at the bar and chat up the very lovely bar ladies (one of whom designs the head of my Guinness with clovers. Thank you, for that) or, weather permitting, i sit on the HUGE patio.

During the hours I frequent, the patio is Empty. This is very agreeable to me. Even if it's not empty and there's a few other tables taken, i don't notice them because it's SO HUGE.

The food i've eaten. It's good, but pricey and I'm not a cheapskate by any means. I mean being a foodie and all, I've accepted the fact that I'll have to pay for quality. I blame the price of their food on their M.O. of being such a HUGE (and rich, dark wood-paneled!) sports bar in such close proximity to the Pepsi Events Center. That is, they can get away with gouging because their niche. Good for Brooklyn's, as long as they stay open for ill-nerved people like myself during the slow hours.

But i've ordered several of things off the menu, and though nothing is extraordinary, it's very eatable. The cheesesticks are, like, $8 for six small guys: I was sorely dissapointed when they were presented to me. I mean at least stick some mozz in between the sticks rebread and then fry 'em so, you know, it's like a double decker cheesestick. Then, i'd have no qualms about six of those theoretical bad boys.

The barbque is sub par, but i was schooled in pork barbque in my native Tennessee, where knowing how to cook pork is high-art.

Well, I've only gone to Brooklyn's to drink after Crush games so I can't speak to the service on non-Pepsi event nights or to the food. But for a rowdy continuation of a sports event or concert at the Pepsi Center, Brooklyn's is just the thing.

The game day crowds are amped up and ready to drink, and the waitresses have always done a good job keeping my pitcher filled. The bar is nothing to write home about, but it's clean and there are a lot of tables for groups, as well as tables outside. It's also about 3 steps from Pepsi, so if you've been pounding beers and hot dogs there all night you don't have to think too much about getting to the bar.

    Bathrooms are a-ok.

For what it is, Brooklyn's does the job quite well!

I liked Brooklyns - we arrived there at about 5:30, so it was busy but not wall  to wall people. We were also seated right away. Good service and cold beer. Love.

What was not my favorite was the queso appetizer. It was overly thick and gooey and caused quite the tummy ache because of its texture. The taste though was quite good - a little bit of a bacon flavor was a nice surprise. Also tasted the popcorn shrimp - good, but could have had some seasoning on it, since I am not a fan of cocktail sauce.

Will return? Definitely. We want to try their burgers!!!

Its convenient to the Pepsi Ctr, its is HUGE, it is always bustling with activity (or so it seems) and the food is pretty darn good!!

I love the big bar and the 2 floors of eating space.  Although, I know if you hit it right before a big game people are positively spilling out of the place.  For good reason though - it just has a good vibe about it.

Last time I had the Crush burger - my fave - cheddar, guacamole and bacon.  Heaven!!

Two floors of sports bar madness.  I don't typically frequent sports bars, because, I don't generally enjoy professional sports, so what would be the point?  That personal peculiarity aside, this restaurant/bar has been consistent through the years.

The burgers are the main thrust of the menu.  At times I've been tempted to try the NY strip steak, but at $20 it's a tough call when most of the burgers are $10.  Who goes to Baskin Robbins and has vanilla?  31 flavors indeed, Brooklyn's has nearly as many burger combinations and if I read the menu right, you can substitute chicken or buffalo on any of them.  My favorite is the open faced, chili, cheese, red onion Hall of Famer - with fries (did you REALLY just ask me if I wanted slaw?).

The Chicken Picnic salad is also something I've had on occasion and it's the epitome of a road house salad; sliced hardboiled egg, real bacon bits, heavy helping of shredded cheddar, diced onions and tomatoes and of course cubed chicken served cold.  The original presentation is served "face off" style with the above items in the corners of the plate.  I have since learned to order this salad tossed, and it helps bring it together, by literally bringing it together.

The drink bar does seem to me to be a bit small for the seating area it's designed to cover.  I've seen plenty of places with half the seating but twice the bar size.  Not sure how they keep up on busy nights.

There are plenty of TV's in every direction and the décor is largely functional.  I like the hard wood floors.  The service is efficient and I usually have good experiences with the staff here.

I've been here a few times. Mostly for drinks prior to a game or something at the Pepsi Center.
But this time i went to the game first and drank a few on an empty stomach : ( so needless to say I was HUNGRY!

So my friend and I went to Brooklyns. I was craving some serious food! Like filling food, no salads and stuff.

So i asked our server what was better the mac & cheese or the wings. She highly recommended the mac & cheese. (I sometimes get nervous when servers think that one thing on the menu is the BEST item served- normally it is not, at least that is what i have experienced).

When she told me the mac & cheese was the best I was a bit worried. But then she quoted other peoples reviews on the mac & cheese: the shit and the best mac & cheese ever! Since she seemed so confident I decided on the mac & cheese with chicken.

SO GLAD I SAID YES!! it was hands down the BEST mac & cheese. It was the shit! I will be back. I even asked if she could deliver to the DTC. Sadly no, but I its ok I will drive for this Mac & Cheese.

I go to Brooklyn's a lot because I'm a student at Metro (across the street) and my geology club likes to hold our meetings here. There's nothing like watching a bunch of drunk geology students pretending to be their favorite rock, let me tell ya. There are a lot of group meetings here and for good reason: it's huge and always full of hot young people. During my last visit I tried the fish & chips and was unsurprisingly disappointed. Luckily, I've never been here after a game at the Pepsi Center, but I imagine it gets packed to the gills. Ultimately it's a fine choice as far as sports bars are concerned so give them a chance.

Brooklyn's was recommended to me as a great place to go before Av's games. It may serve that basic pre-game purpose but it's a nightmare getting in and out of this place, much less getting a drink. It's huge and insanely crowded before games. Definitely not an easy place to grab a few beers on your way to the Pepsi Center, because you will be standing at the bar a loooong time. Good luck getting service on the patio. I've been charged for drinks ordered out there but never gotten them. It may be close by and convenient, but I'd skip it unless you are not sober, incredibly patient and very into sports.

If I were only reviewing the Mac N Cheese it would be 4 stars, however we ate other things as well. The evening was cold and pouring down rain, the 4th of July. The place was empty and cold. The waiter to his credit was attentive. We ordered the Mac n Cheese (fabulous), French dip sandwich, and a Rueben sandwich. The French dip au ju was very salty, but the meat was tender. The Rueben had a lot of meat that was very tender, the crust was crispy. If this place was full of people it would be a hoppin good time. Lots of flat panel TVs to view and a big bar all add to the enjoyment. The onion rings were tasty, the coleslaw was crunchy with just a hint of dijon mustard. Give the Mac N Cheese a try.

Went here with a co-worker before heading to the Starz Film Center.  It's a large place and nicely decorated.  The staff was really friendly and the service was quick.  There was a small birthday gathering going on when we were there as well.  Shared a plate of nachos which were tasty and more than enough for two people.  I would definitely go here again before a movie or event.

I came to meet some friends after an Avs game and I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem outside the Pepsi Center front door. The game went into OT so I sat down to have a drink and was impressed by the large selection of draft and bottled beers. The place filled up after the game ended, but even then the bar area was not overly crowded. It turned out to be a great place to meet some friends and have a drink, and the food looked pretty good too though I did not eat anything. The only downfall of this place is that its not really close to anything except the Pepsi Center. It was quite a walk from there to the 16th st mall.

Worst Reuben in Denver. Love to stop there before a Nugget's game cuz it's convenient. Brews are cold, fries are hot and crispy, just stay away from the reuben.

conveniently located right next to the pepsi center makes this place a great place to grab a few drinks / food prior to the hockey game.

i was pleasantly suprised to see the number of montreal canadiens fans in here. we sat next to some cool habs fans who traveled all the way from calgary!

they serve up a pretty good margarita here ...

We stopped at Brooklyn's for dinner & drinks before an Avs game.  At 5:45 or so it was already packed with Avs fans.  Luckily the wait was only about 15 minutes.  They give you a number and you have to be paying close attention to the little sign above the door to see when your number flashes up there.
They have a wide selection of draft & bottled beers as well as a basic wine selection.  Most of us ordered burgers (with buffalo) and we were not disappointed.  I had the Bronco burger which came with jalapeno cream cheese and jalapenos on top.  It was cooked just right with a little pink in the middle.  Surprisingly there wasn't too much cream cheese.  I was worried it would be too much.  It was messy though :o)  But in a good finger lickin way.  The rest of the menu was filled with the normal appetizers, sandwiches, & salads you'll find at most bar/restaurants.
I thought this burger ranked as one of the better ones that I've had around Denver.  Check it out if you're heading to a game ... or just want to watch the game on TV.  If you get there right before the games start, then the place clears out quite a bit.

The only reason I gave it a 2 is because of the atmosphere. Good sports bar, horrible food. Do not get the club. It is a fancy turkey sandwich. Your best bet is to eat before you come.

I've been to this location twice...both about an hour before hockey games. Food wise it's mediocre...the chili was served warm, not hot, although it had a good amount of meat in it.The burger was served well done when I ordered it medium...service was indifferent. If you are really hungry it's not the worst you can do...but it's not a destination that I would recommend.
