Oh neighborhood, how I love thee. You give me three bars to choose from and this one has a good selection of beer and a hefty shelf of games like apples to apples and scrabble for me to yell and get angry over. My favorite drinking activity, mind you.

But really, good selection of beers. Ninkasis and Rouges (oh my they had santas special reserve or whatever the hell that was and it was delicious. The bartender tried to tell me I wouldn't like it because I am a girl and I suppose were not allowed to like hoppy beers with a kick? Hmph)

But yes, Lauren mentioned a good jukebox, and shes right. Devendra Banhart - Carmencita, aye aye!

Happy hour all day sundays!

Oh, and get their tatertots the seasoning is delish and you will slap people in the face if they reach in to your giant basket of them, trust me, it gets dangerous.

I really don't know what is so difficult about giving just decent service.  In my hunt to find some new places to hang out in SE I thought I'd try out this bar.  Wow, what a mistake.  First off the selection of beer was sad.  5 on tap and a few bottles...really?!?  That wasn't really a problem but the service  that was a problem.  We got one round of drinks and went to play some big buck then when I was done I went up to the counter only to have the bartender sit down at the end of the bar, look up at me waiting to get another drink and then go back to working on his schedule while completely ignoring me. I waited, tapped my glass a bit, looked at the bartender then slunk back to my table...ignored.  WTF!?!  I hate this place.  Don't bother...

Rude, rude, rude.
I'm glad they have built a clientele already, because after moving into the neighborhood I have gone in there a handful of times to nothing but attitude and unhelpful service.  Just not my thing I guess.

Hey, this place is okay!
I'm fairly newish to this particular hood and for some reason, i guess due to the kinda dorky looking sign, I thought this bar would be filled with yuppies drinking microbeers. Not that I don't like yuppies drinking microbeers, but whatever.

My roommate said it used to be non-smoking AND that they used to have a swearing jar that they would make you put money in if you swore, which is kinda funny just because it reminds me of that Mr. Show sketch with "Swears for Cares" and conjures that image of David Cross in the bathtub filled with quarters, but also makes me say "what up dude?! Why are you listening to my conversation anyway?" (props hailey)

But now it's smoking (until january i presume) and i'm pretty certain i swore a swear when i was there and wasn't penalized.

Also, they have a nice bar for sitting.  And I like their tall tables.  And they have one of those computer jukeboxes but it has a good selection. A *fucking* good selection. Ding!

I became a half-ass regular of this place last winter when I worked hard to get into the whiskey club (drink 60 different selections of whiskey/whisky--get a free t-shirt and a buck off whiskey for life!) Even after achieving my dream (and t-shirt), I still drop in for a drink every now and then. It's low key and comfortable. Plenty of oddball sports on the televisions (last time I was there they had hurling on one screen, for pete's sake!) and of course the regular sports. Actually, that got a bit annoying for me a few times, having the Blazers relegated to the smallest, most remote screen in the house. But the futbol fans seem to like the place. And frankly, if a place has eighty selections of whiskey/whisky on hand, you won't hear me complain one bit.

Man, what a great little place. I live so close by and haven't been here more than once (and years ago) until tonite (for the Blazers game) - loved this place, just loved it! Tons of whiskey, cute old-skool decor, cheap beer, micro brews, cute friendly waiter, comfy seats, lots of board games, 4 fancy teevees, great view (Brooklyn park with pretty cherry blossoms) and best of all, cool unpretentious peeps. Will definitely be back for more, YAY! 5 big fat boozy-excellent stars for the Brooklyn Pub!!!!!!

I have been in bars in 25 states, 3 countries, and zillions of cities.  I have been drunk.  I have started fights.  I have pissed on bar floors.  I have smashed pints against the walls, thrown my drink at a bartender's heads, put bouncers in headlocks, stolen ashtrays, snorted coke off of  bars, smuggled my own booze, fucked on stages and pool tables, etc.  I have been a goddammed tornado of mischief.  A bartenders worst nightmare!

AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN PERMANENTLY KICKED OUT OF ANY BAR, ANYWHERE, FOR ANY REASON!!!  EXCEPT THIS ONE!!!  WHY???  BECAUSE I WAS DRUNK AND TALKING LOUD!!!

Fuck this overpriced, cramped, pseudo sports bar, snake ranch shit hole.  Fuck the customers, WHO ACTUALLY COMPLAINED TO THE OWNER AND THREATENED TO LEAVE IF I EVER CAME IN!!!  And fuck you.

So this quaint little dive is located right off of Milwaukie and is perhaps the best place to throw a few back in the Brooklyn neighborhood. One thing that pissed me off was that this place tries to tout itself as a "sport's bar" however when my brother asked if they had the MLB package (that's the Major League Baseball television package for all you non-enthusiasts) I believe the barkeep's reply went something like this: "huh?" This is of course happening as I am looking at all of the MLB memorabilia on the wall....

In any case this is the only bar I know of in the area with a half decent dart board and, to be honest, a really great beer selection (lots of imperials on tap, which always makes for an enjoyable night). It is dirty but then again what do you expect from a bar that is known for its massive whiskey selection?

On another note it's about time the Brooklyn hood got some love. I know it's not the classiest area but then again it beats any Concept Entertainment hell hole (think Dixie and the monstrosity of a bowling alley, Grand Central).

4 stars for a great all around booze/beer selection.

2 stars for being about as clean as my freshman dorm room was.
