Brooklyn, NY
Oh, Brooklyn Fare. You make me wish I made six figures, so I could do my everyday grocery shopping amongst your artisan cheeses and meats, olive and salad bars, and expensive organic produce.
But instead I delight in occasionally frequenting your deli counter for lunch. Roasted brussels sprouts with olive oil, lemon, and garlic? Israeli couscous with currants, almonds, cauliflower, and golden raisins? Fusilli with pesto, cherry tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella? Roasted broccoli rabe and asparagus with olive oil and spicy red pepper? Yes - to all of the above. -

I have to admit this place surprised me.
Let me just give you a tiny background story. I arrived nearby with bags of stuff for Goodwill. Then I ventured out, curious for lunch. There are loads of nearby places offering fast food, be it pizza, burgers, Chinese, etc. Most of these places looked pretty drab, so I thought a grocer might offer a sandwich or something.
I wasn't expecting this store to be (a) so big and (b) full of gourmet options. The deli had loads of sides and entrees. There's a salad bar. There are hot foods ready to go such as rotisserie chicken or cooked portions of salmon. Plus they've got aisles full of normal items, and a checkout aisle lines with gourmet chocolate bars (sneaky bastards).
If I lived near this would probably be my go-to grocer and also place to grab a healthy meal (sorry area greasy spoons). -

Brooklyn Fare is a few blocks from where I work. At first, I thought it was quite far but it really isn't. My company has an account with Brooklyn Fare where the interns can get their paid lunch. It's a great deal.
I absolutely adore Brooklyn Fare because it's humongous, everything is fresh, and their food is divine and plus it's the only place I know of near work that sells one of my favorite snacks: peanut butter filled pretzels! Brooklyn Fare has a wide selection of items from snacks, to fruits, dairy products, and etc.
They have a great lunch special with lots to choose from. I usually come here for their lunch specials. Brooklyn Fare is a great alternative since there's no Whole Foods in Brooklyn yet. -

SO glad this grocery store exists merely steps away from my office! *lurks on Peter D., who apparently lives down the street*
Srsly, I don't always want to take a massive detour on my way home just to get groceries. And by massive detour, I mean either Fresh Fanantic in Clinton Hill or Whole Foods on the LES (see Shit New Yorkers Say: "I NEVER go to Manhattan!"). Honestly, I buy things hodge-podge and as I need them, so trekking to Manhattan for Daiya cheese (FF doesn't sell it) is kind of annoying.
Here's the thing. Brooklyn Fare is an amazing, beautiful grocery store with almost all of the fun organic and fresh things that I usually buy. The rub: as others have mentioned, all of the things I usually buy, but sometimes for a pretty penny more. For the life of me, my math skillz (or lack thereof) cannot tell me if it is worth it to hop on the F for $2.25 and get my Daiya cheese for 3.99 or go to Brooklyn Fare and pay - yes, really - 6.99. What the hell?
However, often it is much more convenient to stay in Brooklyn, and in that case, there is plenty of goodness to choose from here. Last night I got some really amazing small cucumbers that were named after a central Asian state (I can't remeber which) and grown in Canada (haha!). I rushed home made my signature tofutti cream cheese-wasabi-cucumber-pickled ginger-grilled tofu sammie on a spelt English muffin - most of which was purchased at BF. Those cucumbers are going to become a staple - they were delicious! I haven't seen them anywhere else.
I like that they have a rewards card - I would shop here either way, but it's really nice to get some free stuff after spending a bunch of money, especially when your Daiya cheese is twice the price of a competitor's. I'm totally down with that. I'd rather support local business if I can.Listed in: Downtown Brooklyn?, Grocery Stores Uber Alles!

I absolutely love this place. Whenever I'm in the area I have to go in, even if i have no cash on me I just have to browse around. (Luckily I am in the area about once every week or two weeks haha.)
Sure the layout it confusing, (I liked the layout that they had before a little better) but I can always ask anyone who works there to help me out. The service is great, they're always polite and helpful.
The food looks great. They have an interesting and varied selection of beer, cheeses, jams, sauces, pastas, baking products, cookies etc... They have all these products I can never find in the grocery stores and supermarkets around me in Queens or Nassau. They have San Marzano tomato sauces. All kinds of baking chocolates and chocolate chips. They have a cool selection of coffees. All kinds of sodas. They also have tons of gluten free products for those who have that allergy or are into that. Oooh and the soaps look great! It's especially a great place if you're looking for very specific products.
The only real downside for me is the price. Sometimes I go and I want to buy everything, but I know I can't, it's just so overpriced. Then again, they have so much you can't find elsewhere. Except the regular chocolate bars, those are so overly priced and I rather go to Economy Candy in the city, but that's only for the chocolate bars. Look out for the specials, they're not that much of a discount but every discount helps right? They also have a rewards card.
If you've never been here, do check it out though. It's clean, just very interesting to browse through and you just might find something you've been looking for but couldn't find. -

Brooklyn Fare is one of the best grocery stores around so I thought I would actually write a review. I hate grocery stores, but I like the fact that Brooklyn Fare is small clean and offers high quality, freshly prepared foods. They're a bit expensive but its worth it.
The lines can sometimes get too long so they need to do something about that. Personal products like razors are behind the checkout counter which is annoying.
The beer selection and cheese selections are great! In the morning the coffee and breakfast sandwiches also rock. Even the cakes are good.
You can tell when a place is managed well and this is one of the best. -

Congrats to the people who designed the layout here. They really have the "Labyrinth of Shopping That Overwhelms and Terrifies Customers Into Spending More Time--And Money--Than They Intended" thing down pat. I come here 3-4 times a week, and I still end up being rat-mazed into buying at least one thing I didn't come there looking for. I'm trying to train myself like a dog to go in, retrieve the one thing I needed, and get out as fast as possible, but it's going to take some work to reverse engineer the thousands of dollars they must have spent on hiring a psychologist who specializes in store layout.
Anyway. Their prepared foods are unparalleled! I can't say enough about them. I literally will not eat this kind of "deli" food anywhere else.
Everything else I could say about this place has already been said. It's great, and really fills a void in this area. -

Beauty, and produce, is in the eye of the beholder.
If you look at Brooklyn Fare as a bodega in a neighborhood that has a Trader Joe's not a 10 minute walk away, but even then that's a little far, then it's 10 stars and the world's greatest bodega. I mean not only is there a section with cheese both local and imported, there's a full fledged butcher and quite the organic collection of fruits and veggies.
You can pick up a refillable growler and, well, refill it with Sixpoint and specialty brews and you can even buy a sandwich and eat it at the tables just past the checkout (but be mindful that it's really loud over there).
So, taken at that rate, it's fantastic.
But if you look at it as a full-fledged grocery store, it's missing some of the basics to make it perfect (though I think it's tons better than Trader Joe's). They have really, really small aisles so it's tough to navigate more than one person up and down at the same time, and are missing some of the basics (no Bisquick?) that I'd think are staples in pursuit of higher end, more, to quote peter d, "esoteric" items.
You're also not likely to find a decent selection of pre-packaged meats and though you can go to the butcher counter, meat here is very expensive.
Most every male who shops here has a beard* and big black-rimmed glasses and the preponderance of customers with strollers is high. Expect, especially after work, to get stuck in a long checkout line, but they usually move through it pretty quickly. The staff is very friendly, though, and they're cycling through things as best they can.
Don't let my lack of a fifth star deter you in any way -- Brooklyn Fare is the best place to shop in the neighborhood.

I visited this store when I was in downtown Brooklyn with a friend. The organization is fabulous with fresh vegetables and fruits. Organic items are available! They even had my favorite heirloom tomatoes.
There is wonderful section for cheeses and olives which I loved. There is a butcher on hand to take orders and a seafood section as well.
Some of the other cool features:
-bring back your old soap dispenser and refill
-create your own peanut butter stand
-many, many varieties of coffee (I believe you could make your own grinds as well)
-decent sales on Fage (God I love that yogurt 4 for $5 --LOVE that price)
-salsa on hand to try with some chips
-wide variety of oils (vegetable, olive, coconut!)
The lines moved pretty quick. Honestly I don't think I would have minded a wait! Choice of paper or plastic!
I will be back!!! -

Brooklyn Fare is a solid spot for lunch within walking distance from the Metrotech area. Although the prices are very high for a supermarket-the prepared foods are reasonable especially for the quality of the food.
The salads and salad bar are very good although steep in prices for the area. The hot food is very good and the employees are friendly and helpful.
I would not dare to do my grocery shopping here due to the super high prices but for lunch it is a decent spot. -
Review from Peter D.
This is now my (very) local grocery store, and since they have renovated into a full-size market, it's high time I wrote an update.
Brooklyn Fare is an absolutely awesome place to nearby.
It's a gourmet grocer where I can buy anything from whole branzino to passion fruit vinegar to growlers of Sixpoint to flank steak to fiddleheads (still got 'em). And now with the expansion, it's entirely likely that they actually do carry the brand names you were looking for, like Honey Nut Cheerios. (This is a good thing, because Honey Nut Cheerios is obviously the greatest cereal known to man.)
In addition to an excellent selection, the staff is absolutely on point. In my experience, every single person that works in Brooklyn Fare (stockboys, cashiers, managers) will not only know exactly where to find whatever it is you're looking for, but they'll gladly walk you there if need be. The guys behind the prepared food counter will actually put legitimate effort into your sandwich, and the cashiers are usually pleasant and almost always efficient. They even have a rewards program where if you spend $200 and you get like, $15 credit. (Hey, it's better than nothing.)
There are only two drawbacks to Brooklyn Fare, as I see them.
1. There are many, many items that are just obscenely expensive. I know it's organic, but how can tuna be $7.49/can? Actual, fresh tuna doesn't cost that much. How is a jar of Hellman's $8? That's insanity. And it's galling when something priced on "Manager's Sale" is still more expensive than it is elsewhere.
2. Each and every time I go in, I am reminded that I cannot afford to go to the Chef's Table, and that I probably couldn't get a reservation even if I could come up with the cash.
Despite these shortcomings, it's hard to ask for more from a corner store. Especially since they decided to stay open a bit later ('til 10 pm every day but Sunday). Now I can run out and grab some milk for my girlfriend's cookies when I've finished the last drop and she looks particularly stabby.Listed in: groceries, delis and bodegas., it's understood, i do it for…, A/C train all-stars., repeat business., like to cook at home?

Brooklyn, NY
As corner stores go, it's great. Nice selection of produce, including organic, nice selection of beer, full gourmet cheese section, genuine butcher counter, by-the-pound salad and olive bar, and good selection of both basic and gourmet items. That said, for a grocery store it is small, so lots of items "in the middle" between basic and gourmet are missing.
Prices can be quite high, as many other reviewers mention. Example: Hellmann's Olive Oil Mayo. $3.49 at big-box store. $5.49 at nearby grocery franchise. $8 at Brooklyn Fare.
My biggest gripe with Brooklyn Fare is that there is its CONSISTENT problem with over-rings. Watch the screen like a hawk for correct pricing, or check your receipt before you leave, or there is no redress. At least 50% of the time I run into an over-ring here. For a while, it was more like 75% of the time - they may have improved recently. It results both from failure to program the price correctly, meaning the item scans correctly but the wrong price is charged, but also from cashiers entering wrong codes. Example: I got charged more than double the price per pound for peaches for some reason. One peach ended up being about $4. Crazy.
Another consistent problem is restocking and boxes blocking the aisles and the goods. This problem is big enough, and consistent enough, to sometimes keep me away. I guess it's the small size of the store that necessitates constant restocking, because other stores not too far away but which are bigger don't suffer from this.
Finally ,I have had numerous problems with produce from here going bad (moldy) quickly. I solve this by only buying what I need and will use pretty fast. I also recently bought a Fontina from the gourmet cheese section, that is most definitely not a Fontina, but instead is some type of Swiss. When you eagerly await the sweet, creamy meltiness of a Fontina, the footy funk of a Swiss is not a very nice surprise. So, you do run into some quality problems.
Just about everything they have here, you can find cheaper elsewhere and not far away, but the convenience of one-stop shopping combined with large variety, often justifies the higher price and the checkout vigilance required. Bottom line: it's near me so I shop here regularly. But, when I get a chance to go elsewhere, I jump at it, and stock up. -

Brooklyn Fare is a block away from work so it's always there when I need it... but it is on the pricey side so I will only go if I know what I'm looking for. They have a decent artisan cheese section, which I rummaged through this past friday looking for ingredients for a fondue. I couldn't, for the life of me, find the gruyère, and I asked the guy working in the deli section (with the diamond in his tooth) and he came out to help me with no success. Then he asked another guy, who also could not help me, and then finally, the real cheese guy, I could tell by his french accent, came to point it out to me. In my defense, the gruyère sign was tiny and the type of gruyère was in big letters, so that's a little confusing. It was still nice that half the store came out to help me.
They sell kamboucha here, which is a big plus for me because it's not the easiest drink to find.
Essentially, they have quite a few little gems in the store, and as others have mentioned, they may not carry something that a regular market would, but I would say this is specialty market that you shouldn't really do all your shopping at, but come to get that jam, sausage or beverage that you wouldn't really find elsewhere. I would almost say it's a neighborhood whole foods, but I can't decide whether that's a compliment or an insult. -

I love this store. I do. I've been shopping here for the last year and always just stare at their beer selection when I stop in.
It wasn't until 2 weeks ago that I decided to give their deli a try. What the heck was I thinking not going here for so long!?
GREAT sandwich selection. Reasonable prices. The man who makes my sandwiches makes them with so much love it makes me cry. Now I want one...!
P.S. They now serve various freshly tapped beers in growlers. Yeah, I know... I'm in trouble.Listed in: Best of Brooklyn

Ok, nothing beats having a gourmet grocery store across the street from your building. Brooklyn Fare doubled their size recently and have an incredible selection of everything. It's like Union Market, but twice as big, and I mean that in terms of selection as well as price. My wife and I tell ourselves at least once a week that we will only use this store as a place to pick up essential entree items (fish, chicken) on the night we prepare them, and occasional emergency stuff. Inevitably, we buy half of our groceries here (the other half is from Trader Joe's).
Generally, the store is great, unbeatable if you have unlimited budget. The selection is decadent, almost pornographic (just check out the gelato/ice cream selection or the beer varieties and you'll understand what I mean). The prices aren't exorbitant, but they're just high enough to make you feel like you're being irresponsible. Again, it's like Union Market, but the place is 5 times larger. -

Brooklyn, NY
This continues to be a frustrating place. I can only guess that it's owned by someone who has never run a grocery store before and thinks that reheating yesterday's take out is cooking.
On the plus side, it does have great selections of beer and cheese.
The negatives:
- They continue to stock the place like it's a small gourmet speciality market, not a large grocery store. Great choice of beer, cheese and an endless selection of olive oils ... terrible choice of meat, meat substitutes, vegetables and baking ingredients. The stuff they do well, like the fresh pastas and pasta sauces, they are sold out of over 50% of the time.
- Prices are high and seem to vary day to day. They are often not marked. An item that seems reasonably priced the first time you buy it might be insanely overpriced the next time. I've paid anywhere between 3 and 6 dollars for broccoli, between 5 and 8 dollars for a pack of ravioli and between 5 and 8 for the same box of cereal. Unless you spend your time running around trying to get staff to verify prices, you'll have at least one shock (or sometimes a pleasant surprise) at the checkout.
- The layout is confusing and keeps changing. For instance, there are three different areas where you'll find vegetables - some seem to be organic, another set also seem to be organic (although the label is crossed out), the others I assume are non-organic, though they are more expensive than the middle lot, but less than the organic. There is nowhere to put carts after you're done checking out, so they just sit blocking the exit. There is no way for the staff to get to the checkouts without pushing through the line of people waiting.
- That fan still spews steam out onto Hoyt Street.
The only real selling point for this place is the fresh pasta and pasta sauces. Without them, realistically, I probably wouldn't step foot in there again.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Brooklyn, NY
My girlfriend and I tried the "cafe" for breakfast on MLK day, looking for a quick over the counter breakfast. Granted a holiday may not have been the best representation of the usual service (or serious lack thereof) but we were so aggravated that we left without even getting a coffee.
We waited in front of the pastry and coffee register for over five minutes while an employee refilled stock and did god knows what else behind the counter. I tried to get her attention but was ignored. We shuffled down to the other register thinking there was some sort of system that we weren't aware of. If there were any "order here" signs we completely missed them.
A customer in front of us actually offered us her spot in line, saying "You've been waiting so long..." When we got to the front of the line and tried to order the cashier interrupted us, "You have to order down there" and pointed to where we had just been waiting (and ignored).
At this point we were irritated but we shuffled back over. The same employee that had ignored us initially proceeded to walk away from the register altogether when we got there.
A different employee sauntered over and finally asked "Can I help you?" We tried to order and again we were interrupted, "Our breakfast is broken down for the day...see?" And she pointed to another employee standing at a small buffet station who was putting things away.
Four employees, zero service.
I started to explain to her what had just happened but stopped when she gave me a look of complete disinterest. I turned to my girlfriend, "Let's go some place else."
The cafe a few doors down was fast, good, cheap and friendly. -

Being the closest supermarket to me, I end up at Brooklyn Fare almost every other day. They have a decent, and consistently fresh salad bar (the only downside being the price). However, it is discounted after 7:30pm which is a plus.
The employees are also very helpful when it comes to product requests. I had requested the pumpkin flavor of Arctic Zero ice cream, and they informed me that several other people had come in with the same request, however they were unable to order it as their distributer did not have this flavor. To my surprise, I found that they had stocked up on that flavor two weeks later. -

This place is huge, especially for this busy part of Brooklyn. I had never seen this store. Currently on jury duty and didn't bring enough for lunch. I did not want to spend alot of moeny on hot food as I just needed soemthing small.
After walking around the area I found this huge -ss supermarket. It looks more like a Whole Foods than a regulation supermarkey based on size and the variety of stuff they carry
I just picked up a bag of friend plantain chips and some beer (for later).
The line was long but went very quickly. -

Just to add an update..I went into Brooklyn Fare today for the first time this week, and man oh man was I shocked. The place has more than doubled in size. Apparently there was a huge remodeling/expansion process afoot all along, and what was once (and also formerly) my favorite quick stop for pretty much anything I would need grocery related has been transformed into a full fledged supermarket that rivals any Union Market that you would find in Park Slope or Cobble Hill.
While im still miffed by the inching up of prices, I must say I was quite impressed (and relieved) to discover that perhaps those incremental inches were being applied to the greater good, namely a bigger and better shopping experience for the neighborhood.
Im back to being a fan again.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Favorite facet of Brooklyn Fare is the collection of various salads and side dishes at the deli counter: Israeli couscous, broccoli slaw, green bean salad, artichoke something-or-other, etc. They're all GREAT. Also, speaking of the deli counter, they have some really tasty lunch sandwiches. Definitely recommend the roast beef sandwich with horseradish dressing.
Good mix of everyday grocery items and some of the finer things. Fresh veggies have yet to disappoint either. Prices are kinda high though.. -

Brooklyn, NY
My one and only gripe with Brooklyn Fare is that it can be a bit on the pricey side. If I'm doing any serious grocery shopping, and/or I have the time, I'd rather walk down to Trader Joe's for some better deals. That being said, Brooklyn Fare has some GREAT produce and lots of it. And, being only 2 blocks from my apt, as well as right across the street from the subway station, it is incredibly convenient. The deli section has yummy sandwiches as well as a food bar, which they will heat up for you when you order it. Also, being Latina, I was happy to find the decent Goya section they have. They have a number of healthy alternative options, which I also really like.
Sidenote- CELEBRITY SITINGS: I've spotted, on line at Bk Fare, Alexis Bledel (of Gilmore Girls and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants fame) and, outside the store, Anne Hathaway. -
Review from Jacob C.
I just kind of popped in here on my way to a restaurant because it was just outside the Hoyt train station and I wanted to buy something quick to quench my thirst. I didn't even know about this supermarket and I was pleasantly surprised. It was very well stocked, clean and had a lot of great products in stock. I took the chance to walk around and look at stuff while I grabbed my drink. I saw a lot of great, fresh produce and the seafood section looked very fresh as well. This place is a little out of my way but it would be worth a quick train ride to get a great shopping experience.

I like Brooklyn Fare, I like having it in the neighborhood. I usually prefer to go here over anywhere else, but that doesn't mean it's not without faults.
For example:
-The produce is not always as fresh as it should be, and it's pretty expensive.
-The new expansion has caused some confusion. Finding things can be tough. Olive oil? In the fancy oil aisle near the fish counter. Canola oil? By the beer.
-They don't carry flowers.
But, they *DO* carry Lone Star, like El B. also mentioned. And they have a good variety of stuff. If you can find it.

Coming from Texas where there was a grocery story on every corner of the intersection, I'm surprised to hear myself say that I have found a grocery store I am a little committed to. I feel like I'm breaking a rule somehow.
Their prices aren't the cheapest, their selections aren't the grandest and their aisles definitely aren't the widest...but something about Brooklyn Fare has me coming back.
It must be the nice slab serif logo. -

So lucky to have this in the neighborhood! It arrived just after we did to make it possible to get great groceries any day of the week with just a short walk.
The recent expansion definitely improved checkout times; the cheese selection is rad for a neighborhood grocery store; the staff is friendly and knows where everything is (which is good, because it's not always obvious).
Occasionally sale items aren't properly entered in the system. Their vegetables also vary from fresh and delicious to middling and starting to go bad-- they definitely don't rotate as frequently as Whole Foods, but on a good day it's great.
Great beer selection and the savings card is totally worth it for a household. -

The Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare is in a word: BEYOND.
Beyond my (and likely your) expectations.
Beyond an intimate, lovely dining experience.
Beyond amazing, fresh food.
Beyond my favorite meal thus far in 2010.
In my opinion this is the most deserving new inclusion in this year's Michelin Guide.
If you can get in (and now it's even more tough) then RUN. GO.
The fresh, seasonal food in an unbeatably cozy and authentic environment is guaranteed to be a meal that you will never forget. EVER. -

A great market/store/deli that's worth a visit. Although there's a wide variety in selection, the prices are moderately expensive.
I do love the expansion of Brooklyn Fare. From just a few months ago, it's doubled in size - now it's an incredibly large and spacious store! Of course, it still doesn't quite compare to Trader Joe's on Court Street, but it's a welcome change. They have a good selection of liquor (lots of interesting beers), and a variety of ethnic foods.
Unfortunately, I can't be a "fan" because every visit here has consistently been ANNOYING when I check out at the cash register - prices on more than a few items are always jacked up. This includes many of their sale items, where the markdowns are somehow never correctly inputted in their system. Considering they make an effort to print weekly circulars, I find this incredibly annoying. Sure, if it happens with maybe one or two items - or at one visit - that's fine. But I've been here more than a handful of times, and it's been a consistent problem with every single visit. I'm miffed that I have to monitor the cash register like a hawk... I never have this problem at Trader Joe's. Just check your receipt over to make sure you're not being jipped!
Also: skip the coffee here. Not worth it. -

Just emailed my grocery order!
We've been going to Brooklyn Fare since February of 2010 (since it was half the size it is now). They offer free delivery to our building (it's $5 outside the "free" radius). They also offer $10 off for every $200 you spend (or something like that). Just recently, we have been making note of what we buy, and adding that to our email grocery list to Brooklyn Fare.
Emailing is easy - First we set up an account at the store, with our credit card number and brooklyn fare card number, name and address. Then, we email a list and tell them what time to deliver. they call with any questions, and pick very, very, good produce. I am very impressed with how well they selected fresh fruit and vegetables.
The store is well organized, and have all the healthy options you could ask for. They have specialty items, and if you ask for something they don't have, they will order it for you. I really enjoy the local foods as well.
I only had a little difficulty at the deli. The woman at the deli gave us major attitude because we weren't standing at the right side of the counter. However, there is no sign, no line, and we were standing at the scale and meat section (which is what we were purchasing), so.... whatever, i can look past it.
I would love it if they would start carrying my dog's food. -

O' Brooklyn Fare. I...of changed eyes..wish thee many years of good business. Alas, I fear your farmer's market-styled vegetable patch and spit-shined chrome shelves of boxed foodstuffs will eventually be undone.
By the time this neighborhood decides what, and more importantly WHO, it wants to be, this grocery will be worn out and perhaps even flat broke. It's Dean & Deluca style doesn't speak to the overwhelming number of dinkus delinquents preparing for their day at the Brooklyn Muni Building.
The cleanliness and affordability will keep me coming back for now...despite the very descriptive catcalls from the construction crew while I cross the street. Honestly, in this economy, it's nice to be wanted. -

I intend to pen a worthy review for this unique, stellar experience. As for now, any Yelper or foodie or diner who is looking for something to really talk about, then this is it!
Check out donna da Vine on Atlantic for wine before the meal. -

Hello healthy food heaven! I walk in to buy a bottle of water after sweating it out at planet fitness and what do i find, holy produce batman! The freshest produce ever! And a huge selection of everything! Its like a mini Whole Foods, but cooler and less money.
Brooklyn Fare, is just great, the people are super helpful, and take the time to find things for you and not just send you down aisle 8 alone. Plus they have a huge selection of ready to go meals, fresh salads. Its perfect if your in the mood to cook, or if you just want to shove food in your face. Plus cheaper and closer than Whole Foods! -

Friendly service, great prices, and good-quality local ingredients. Best grocery in NYC! They are constantly improving and coming up with more products and services for customers.

Prices are competitive compared to neighborhood supermarkets. The deli has some delectable stuff. Produce is fresh, and their meat selection has some special stuff.
What I'm really interested though is getting a seat at the Chef's Table...
