Brand, spankin' new coffee shop in Gowanus (or G-Slope, as 4th Ave is now being called) at the corner of 4th Ave and Carroll St (where Family Car Service used to be).  FYI, this is not affiliated with the Brooklyn Bean & Tea Co. located on Atlantic Ave.

I stopped in last weekend for a large vanilla latte (which cost north of $5 -- more than Starbucks!).  At the time, there was only 1 person working, so there was a bit of a wait.  She was very friendly, however, and greeted everyone as they walked in the door. The decor is modern and fresh, but not terribly comfortable-looking or inviting (perhaps that's intentional -- to keep people from hunkering down all day with their laptops).  The latte was delicious and perfectly made, so I don't think the price was terribly unreasonable.  

I'm happy to have a coffee shop on my block so I don't have to trek up to Ozzie's every time I want a cuppa.  I imagine this will become a regular addition to my weekend routine.
