Great, hole in the wall joint that you will definitely find yourself coming back to again and again. The ingredients are very fresh and all organic. You can tell the chef takes great pride in the ingredients and the preparation as well. The breakfast burrito is my favorite for a.m. and I really enjoy his salmon, which is something I'm normally picky about. You can eat in the dining room, but they're fast enough to run in there and get it to go. I've been telling everyone I know about this place, great find for Brookhaven.

I really want to love this place. I'd be happy if I even liked it. It reminds me of many of my favorite healthy haunts in NYC. Great, healthy menu items, fresh flavors, embracing quality over affordability. Many of the items I have had have been truly delicious. My problem lies with the apathetic, inattentive staff, and some poor management. Wednesday is advertised as the one day of the week on which you can purchase a felafel sandwich. There have been no less than four Wednesdays sprinkled over the last few months when I have attempted to order a felafel sandwich, and each and every time I've been denied.
Today when I ordered (before 5pm) the clerk informed me that they were out, and added "we never seem to make enough". It doesn't take a genius to realize that if they never make enough, they need to make more. Adding to my irritation is that each and every time I order a coffee (a sign proclaims that it is the best you can get) the clerks forget to pour it for me, leaving me standing around awkwardly waiting for them to remember the item I just ordered.
As I mentioned, the food here is delicious and healthy, and the quality is rather high. But the management is sorely lacking in knowledge of prep, pars, and inventory, and the clerks are apathetic and inattentive. There are only so many times I can attempt to order a favorite menu item, and be told I can't have it, before I stop trying. Hopefully the will make some improvements, but until then I'll be eating elsewhere. -

The only reason I am deducting 1 star is because the dining room is no frills. If that's not a big deal or you get the order to go, than + 1 star.
I have always past by this place and hear great things. I have the salmon with black beans, the turkey burrito, seared tuna, tuna salad. Everything was excellent.
Food is very healthy and you will filled up. Great for lunch time. I need to try there breakfast.
Worth trying, you def be back! -

So far I've only had the salmon quesadilla. It was absolutely delicious! I like this little place. It's nice to be able to go somewhere to go fast, tasty wholesome food. And organic!
If you order the salmon quesadilla, make sure to ask for the chipotle dipping sauce. It doesn't come on the side, but it's delicious with it..and they'll give it to you for free. -

5 stars for it's category
The staff are friendly and soo so helpful and enthusiastic to be there.
So far I have enjoyed the Black Beans and Rice on two occasions and i have to say that the chipotle sauce is addictive! They could make that into a soup and I would order it. Ingredients are fresh and flavorful.
The greek salad was delicious and fresh. I haven't seen cucumbers this fresh since I grew them in my garden. The dressing they use is also very tasty, tangy and delicious and goes well with the ingredients. -

What a gem!!! What brought me here was I was visiting Nuts 'N Berries that is connected as I have a sinus infection and needed some meds. And I knew there was a cafe attached I and needed soup. I am not a clear broth type soup person. The soup - CVB - Chicken Vegetable Barley was amazing!!! And Chef Chip gave me at no charge this concoction he made to help with sore throats. It has mustard, ginger, horseradish and a bunch of other spicy ingredients which of course my delicate palate wouldn't like but would try. WOW! Did it help (and I put it in honey to help cool it). The soup was so good that I came back the next day for more in which Chef Chip added a yummy roll. He took over the bistro 3 years ago and I am looking forward to going back for the salmon quesadilla and a fresh smoothie!

Exceptional food! You walk away so satisfied from the freshly intense flavors. My first day discovering this tiny gem, well I actually went for lunch and dinner. I could not wait to share this find with my husband. I have never been disappointed nor do I think I ever will be. You will not find fresher or healthier food anywhere!

The owner is hands on, cares and makes a point to explain the menu, what is popular, what goes well together and answers questions honestly (he encouraged me to get a smaller salad). Smoothies are awesome, taste fresh. Got a salad with salmon on top. Awesome. Great to see all walks of life walking in: old, young, men, women. People go there to eat healthy and it delivers.

I was a little apprehensive on checking out Brookhaven Bistro, but when I saw them on Scoutmob (if you have an Android phone or an Iphone, you should be able to get the app), I had to check them out. They have a menu that consists of soups, sandwiches, salads, fish tacos and :::drum roll please::: Salmon Quesadillas!
I was torn between the Tilapia Tacos and the Salmon Quesadillas and Chef Chip recommended the quesadillas since they were the most popular menu item. Although the food is very healthy, I did not miss a thing -- the salmon quesadilla was flavorful and was a really nice portion size.
Prices are around $6-$8 for most menu items and I'd much rather grab lunch here at the Bistro than hovering over the salad bar at a crowded Whole foods. Plus, customer service is on point. I will definitely go back to try out the tilapia tacos. -

Enjoyed lunch here last week and used my Scoutmob coupon. Great quality ingredients with a focus on clean healthy eating. I had the wild salmon quesadillas with black beans and a side of eggplant chickpea salad. It was very tasty and I filled me up. My companions shared the wild salmon over brown rice and black beans. I also took home some pimento cheese which was wonderful too.
Will be back! -

I tried the Curry Peanut Soup today....fantabulous! This is truly a Vegan haven spot to eat, especially with the super duper kitchen squad...I brought a newbie with me today and he loved the Chicken Salad and my baby girl ofcourse devoured her Salmon Quesadilla and the patio seating with the sunshine today topped it off for a great brunch under the sun....Chef Chip...Besitos!

Review from Susumu K.
I guess I have been a regular at this restaurant, it's only 2 blocks from my office, having indoor and outdoor seating. It is a "healthy" menu, but I don't go there because it's "healthy" it's Tasty!. By far my favorite special has been Chip's Spicy Thai Chicken Curry, this week I ate 4 days in a row of the same stuff. bed of short grain white rice, he tops a steamed veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, peppers and carrots) and top the chicken curry right on top of the veggies...mmmm though last time he served it with boiled eggs. I like the daily specials because there is no wait time, it's already made and ready to be served.
From the menu, my favorite items are broiled tilapia, salmon burritos and Blackened Ahi-Tuna burger, but I guess the restaurant's signature dish is the Southwestern black bean and rice with pan fried salmon, it always his the spot, I get the spicy sauce on the side to control the heat, but if you like he spicy stuff, I'm sure you'll love it!
I'm also a believer of his "Super-Tonic", (Ginger, garlic, radish, carrots , apple cider vineger, etc.) when I feel sick I take a little sip and I'm fine in few hours, my girlfriend got over her flu in less than 2 days with 2 x 2 ounce container... I always carry extra tonic at my office in-case I get sick... (since I used up my sick time)
One day when i have extra cash, I want to do his "Private Dinner for 2" at his restaurant, I'm sure it will be delicious. -

What a hidden gem! Brookhaven Bistro is a cafe located in the "Nuts 'N Berries" building, and they've got a great lunch menu -- and what looks to be a great brunch menu on Sundays, and all very reasonably priced. They are all about healthy food -- serving salads, sandwiches, soups, burgers, burritos ... and you won't find any red meat in this place! Everything is either veggie, chicken, turkey, or fish. Oh, and they have "freshly pressed juices" & smoothies, too!
Apparently this place just got a new chef & owner. He recommended their daily special (which was a turkey platter), their soups, their salmon quesadilla, and their "turkey turkey" burger. My friend & I went with the salmon quesadillas -- and wow, I was so surprised how tasty & delicious it was! Honestly, I was expecting bland flavors b/c after all, this is a "healthy" restaurant ... I am so glad I was wrong! According to the menu, the salmon quesadilla is their signature dish -- wild Alaskan salmon sauteed w/ onions & mushrooms, Jack cheese, fresh tomatoes, cilantro, ... yummo! And their portions are generous!
Service was great, and I think I saw just one other customer. The restaurant really is very hidden - they really need to post a big sign, otherwise all the drive-by's like myself for so many years, will think it's just a "Nuts 'N Berries" health food store. -

Tucked away behind "Nuts & Berries" Health Food Store on Peachtree Rd. NE is a little culinary treasure, "The Brookhaven Bistro".
I'm always very concerned when eating at a restaurant that emphasizes natural, holistic, organic or anything else that makes me think that an old bra-less, tank top wearin, hippie woman with armpit hair might be making my sandwich. I was relieved when Chip, the owner a clean cut, polite, professional guy greeted me and I saw how clean and organized his place was.
There were some samples of some type of unfamiliar legume with Cherry tomatoes and dressing mixed in that was sitting in Dixie cups on a tray at the register, picked it up, sniffed it, looked back in the kitchen one last time for the hippie woman then emptied the contents of the Dixie cup into my mouth, delicious!
I ordered the Domestic Farm Raised Tilapia & Black-bean Tacos and the Tutti-Fruity Salad. Let me try to explain this Salad, fresh Spinach, Walnuts, Fresh Strawberries, sliced Bananas, Feta Cheese and Poppy seed Dressing sound like an odd combination, they're not, they're incredible.
My lunch was so good I went back the following morning for a Breakfast Burrito and a Large Freshly pressed Carrot and Ginger , Juice, Niiice!! -

First, I didn't actually sit in this restaurant and eat. We had the food brought to us at lunch during work.
Anywho, the chicken salad wrap I had was pretty tasty. Couldve used a bit more salt, but who needs sodium in there diet? I thought the chunks of chicken couldve been chopped a bit more it was a bit much.
It came with a delightfully warm and gooey chocolate chip cookie. That was honestly the best part of my lunch!!!!!
Don't get me wrong, the food wasn't bad but it was spectacular either. I will try again and see what else this little place has to offer! -
Review from Ben O.
This little natural-foods restaurant attached to Nuts and Berries has some great prepared salads (mediterranean red quinoa, cheaper by the pound than even uncooked red quinoa is in some stores).
You can buy their prepared salads from Nuts and Berries even if the Bistro is closed; it's just that after a certain time they don't cook more dishes.
I felt overwhelmed by the echoing conversations, the noise of the cooler, and the piped-in music, and felt distinctly uncomfortable in my own skull. I'm not neurotypical, though, so perhaps you'll see it differently.
For wheelchair access, enter through Nuts and Berries. -

This Bistro is inside "Nuts & Berries" very close to Oglethorp. HEALTHY vegan/vegetarian/and fish eater food for there or to go. When I don't have time to bring lunch to work, Brookhaven Bistro is my first choice.
So far my favorite is the Salmon Quesadilla. Still working around the menu. Daily broiled fish specials. -

I can't believe how many times I've driven past this place and never knew it existed! Some friends invited us to have lunch at the Brookhaven Bistro last week and I was very impressed. As a person that seeks healthy good tasting food, I can't wait to go back!
I ordered the special of the day, which was some sort of black bean and chicken sausage soup with corn bread. The soup was very filling and was well done. However, it was the corn bread that I absolutely loved!!!
I think everyone else in my party ordered the Salmon Quesadillas (the dish this restaurant is known for). All enjoyed their food. I was intrigued by the tofu salad wrap on the menu and will try that next time I go.
Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of tables, so if you're going for lunch, you'd better show up early! The atmosphere was casual, but tasteful. Also, the bistro isn't open for dinner or on Sunday, which is unfortunate since those are the times I most frequently dine out. -

You've probably driven past Brookhaven Bistro without even knowing it is there. That's because it is located behind the Nuts and Berries Health Food Store in the attached building.
Chef Chip recommended we start with a spicy tofu soup with collard greens (his own recipe - a variation of it on the regular menu).
I had done my research prior to visiting and heard the specialty was the salmon quesadilla, so I knew I wanted to give that a whirl along with their Tutti Frutti salad (a concoction with spinach, bananas, strawberries, feta cheese, and walnuts). Note that Brookhaven Bistro is attached to health foods store (emphasis on health). So, the menu consists mainly of fish, vegetarian entrees and salads. And there is nothing fried, salmon and turkey burgers are broiled.
As it was a pretty Atlanta Spring day, we chose to sit outside, pollen be damned. Seating area is rather small - outside has about 6 tables and the inside has about 7 or 8 tables. I could imagine this could get crowded at peak times, but Brookhaven Bistro lends itself more to a takeout establishment rather than dine in, it would seem.
First to arrive was our spicy tofu soup. I admit, I took that first spoon with a bit of trepidation. Tofu isn't really my thing. But I was pleasantly surprised. It was yummy y'all. I loved the blend of collards, peppers (you can't see them in my pic) and yes, even the tofu.
The Tutti-Frutti salad is so unique and not to be missed if you check out Brookhaven Bistro. The sweet bananas and strawberries are a perfect balance to the salty Feta cheese. And the crunchy walnuts give the salad that extra umph.
Next up was our Salmon quesadilla. I enjoyed it and thought ingredients were very fresh but felt there was something missing. Then Chip brought out their house made Sriracha / Chipotle sauce. I slathered that goodness all over my quesadilla and that made a huge difference.
I almost forgot our carrot and ginger juice. Very refreshing and tasty. I feel like I got a vitamin shot in that lunch hour. The nice thing was that while I felt satisfied, I didn't feel overly stuffed or that I needed to take a nap when I returned home, as is often the case when I have a heavy lunch.
Don't misunderstand, all this healthy eating didn't stop me inquiring with Chip "What's for dessert?" And he politely informed me that he doesn't offer dessert as it doesn't really jive with their healthy image. Still need a sweet fix? Just stop by Nuts and Berries on your way out. Amy and I perused it and there are plenty of sweets to satiate you if you are so inclined.
Brookhaven Bistro must have a pretty loyal group of customers. I notice a couple customers whip out their frequent diner card when paying. Here's the deal: 10 punches (minimum spend $7) and you get a free meal. -

The Salmon Quesadillas are pretty yummy..they have a large selection of healthy foods and delicious smoothies ( although a bit pricey).
Order at the register and they bring it out to you, the dining area is small and clean.
No complaints here, except its a bit pricey, but def worth it for those days when your in the mood for a good healthy meal. :) -

If you're looking for a fast healthy lunch for under $10 this is the place! They are located inside Nuts and Berries Health Food store, and are truly -as another reviewer said- a hidden gem.
I have been there several times and have never been disappointed. They are usually very busy, but always get your food out fast! Huge servings too! I usually either split something with the roomie or take it home for dinner.
Today I had the Salmon Quesadilla, highly recommended by another customer as well as Chef Chip, and it was wonderful! Wild Alaskan Salmon, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms and Jack Cheese. Served with tomatoes and cilantro. YUM!!
Other meals that are good are the Mesclun salad- mesclun greens with cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots and mushrooms, and a yummy dressing that I cant recall right now. You can add chicken or salmon for $2 and $4- this is a huge salad! The Veggie Wrap is really good too, Spinach, tomatoes, carrots, avocado, cucumbers, onions and sun dried tomatoes inside a tomato basil wrap with hummus spread inside it. Very filling, and very delicious!
They have juices too and smoothies, I have only tried the carrot ginger juice and the wheatgrass juice. Both very good.
They are open from 10-4 Mon- Fri and 10-3 on Sat.
They are usually very busy, but as I said they are fast too, so it makes up for it! When the weather is warmer, the patio is a great place to take your time and enjoy your meal.
Check them out today! You will not be disappointed! -

I just moved to the area from Seattle about two weeks ago. I work from home and have been eating lunch at home. However today the cupboard was bare so I decided to check out Brookhaven Bistro after seeing on their website they had a Wild Alaskan Salmon Burger. It doesn't get much better than this for a guy from Seattle. I just scarfed it and it was serious noms. I could seriously eat one of those every day. The salmon was cooked to perfection and topped with the sauteed shrooms and onions, so good. I'll be back and may try other items on the menu, but can't guarantee it.

I met a friend here for breakfast based on all the good things I had heard. I had the Wild Alaskan scrambler with hash browns. It took a little while to get the food, but once it arrived, I was a very happy camper. You can tell the ingredients are high quality and expertly prepared. It was a little pricey but well worth it. However, I also got a chicken salad sandwich to go for lunch later but was a little disappointed. The chicken was kinda dry and the large amount of bread didn't help. Overall, it is very good, and I look forward to going back for lunch sometime to try that salmon quesadilla everyone keeps raving about.

I agree completely with another reviewer in that I'm not sure where else in the area you can get a fast, healthy lunch for a good price. And leave so happy!
I've driven by many times and finally stopped in today and am kicking myself for missing out on it in the past!
We had the special of the day (yummy curry tilapia) and the famous salmon quesadilla. Both were excellent! I love salmon but don't always order it b/c you never know if it was wild or farmed, but here you know the details on everything and can order with confidence!
We sat in the back of the dining room and didn't see the place to bus your dishes at first--it's near the counter. -

I love this place first for the location, right near my temporary home. The salad I had was very tasty, with spinach, bananas, strawberries, walnuts and a poppy-seed dressing. The dressing was a little heavy, but the guy behind the counter was really nice and friendly, so I'd"d probably just ask him to go light on the dressing next time. I also had a Honey Bee Smoothie that was great! The raw honey was obvious but not overpowering, and the smoothie wasn't too too thick. I haven't shopped at Nuts N Berries, but at a glance it looked more expensive than it should be for some key items.

I love knowing that I'm getting a good, healthy, yummy meal whenever I go to Brookhaven Bistro. I eat there at least 3 times a week! The staff is fun and friendly too. I've had almost everything on the menu including the smoothies, and I have yet to taste something I don't like....it's awesome!

I stumbled upon this place a few months ago and have been a regular ever since. Brookhaven Bistro is a great place to pick up some healthy, yet delicious food in the Brookhaven area. They have amazing specials, great smoothies and serve the only tuna salad on the planet that I will eat. You can get pre made wraps, sandwiches and salads or have one made to order. It's located inside "Nuts & Berries" which is a health food store so it's not necessarily a great place to take a date, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu here. Brookhaven Bistro provides friendly service and a healthy option in this age of fast food monotony.
