Q:
Can I bring my own food?
A:
Yes by all means you are allowed to bring your own food. The only thing you are not allowed to bring would be any type of outside alcohol as the state of New Jersey does not allow you to bring your own bottles on site. There are no exceptions for… more
Paul R., Business Owner3 years agoQ:
It's an odd question but do they have proper bathrooms or porta potties? I've been to a couple of farms so would really like to know!
A:
We have both available inside the winery we have restrooms and outside we have two Porta Johns set up to help assist with the overflow of customers during the busy fall season.

Brook Hollow Winery is a must-visit destination for wine lovers. The winery offers a beautiful and serene setting, surrounded by rolling hills and picturesque vineyards. The staff is knowledgeable and welcoming, making the tasting experience a delightful one.
The wine selection is extensive, ranging from crisp whites to bold reds and sweet blends. The wines are expertly crafted, with a focus on using high-quality grapes and utilizing traditional winemaking techniques. In addition to the tastings, Brook Hollow Winery offers a variety of events and activities, including vineyard tours, wine and food pairings, and live music performances. The winery also has a gift shop, where you can purchase bottles of your favorite wines and other souvenirs.
Overall, Brook Hollow Winery is a fantastic place to spend an afternoon, surrounded by beautiful scenery and delicious wines.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

The girls and I got together to get some wine. When I arrived I parked in their private lot. I walked in and found my friends. The place was super cozy. I started with the red wine flights, and I liked a lot of the options. I then ordered a glass for a separate charge. This place has indoor and outdoor seating and you bring your own food. Carl was the manager and he was great! While we sat and drank, they had some live music. It was super fun all in all!

I had a day off and wanted to try out a new winery outside of my area so I drove an hour and got there on a steamy Wednesday as they opened. The setting is beautiful and it's only 5 minutes from the PA border so a trip to the Delaware River overlook is a great photo op. The lady pouring our flights was super friendly and knowledgeable. When you do a tasting you are only allowed to choose red, whites or sweet wines and you do not get a choice of what is poured. Unfortunately I was not a fan of any except one and got 1 more glass of it, which was a very generous pour.
We were the only ones there until we left around 1:30pm when 2 others were there and 2 more came in. It was the middle of the week in a location where I don't think there is much else so there's that. The reviews were great which led me there but I just didn't enjoy the selections.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0Business owner information

Brook Hollow is a very chill winery. On a beautiful Saturday at noon it wasn't crowded at all. It was easy to snag parking, a table overlooking the music and there wasn't a long wait for food and drinks from the tasting room. Wineries and crowds usually go hand in hand on beautiful days, so I appreciated the calm atmosphere. They have a very large lawn space with plenty of seating which didn't hurt.
Wine was just okay. My dry rose didn't look or taste like rose at all and was more like a light red wine. I also tried a fruity white that was overly sweet. Usually I'm a fan of a flight, but the flight didn't look too appealing and came in the tiniest plastic cup. Glasses of wine are $7 and a bottle is around $16-$18, so if you are getting two glasses a bottle is definitely the play.
They have limited food options, but I suggest bringing your own. My pretzel was stale and the cheese wasn't too quality.
It's a beautiful property and you really can't go wrong with a glass of wine and some live music on a nice summer day.Helpful 26Thanks 0Love this 21Oh no 1Business owner information

Thanks for your review. The Rose I make here at the winery does fall into the Rose category as they vary from very light almost blush to a light red color. I have a dry and a sweet version of this to appeal to most pallets. The tasting board consists of 8 one ounce cups and you can choose from a dry red flight, a dry white flight or a mixed sweeter wine flight. We do allow customers to bring their own food and that is why we only offer a very limited small menu. Not sure about the pretzel as they are made fresh. Glad you were able to enjoy the grounds and music. Please come back soon, bring some food and enjoy a bottle of wine and free live music. Thank you for supporting NJ wineries! Paul

2/26/22 Update: We came to "The Wurst Night" at Brook Hollow Winery.
Lots of good German food and music . The accordionist was Erik. He took requests by all the attendees. He also performed at a pig roast we attended in 2021.
At the present event, you could purchase wine by the glass $7.00 or by the bottle $20- $30.00. We had a glass of Chardonnay and Chambourcin.
Tonight's dinner was a buffet style.
Started out with some really tasty appetizers-liver wurst, lox, deviled eggs and crackers. Next, we had sauerbraten, potatoes, sauerkraut and other good German food.
All the food was from Alpine Meats in Blairstown, NJ,
Lastly, we had an excellent cheesecake.
We had the pleasure of meeting the owner Paul.
Paul gave us a lot of good information about the winery. The entire Brook Hollow staff was great!
Just want to give a special shout out to Shayne who was of great assistance during our visit early that week!
A wonderful bottle of 2018 Cabernet Franc came home with us.
The winery is open daily. You can go for regular and premium sampling of whites reds and sweet wines.
All the wines are wonderful!
Yelp does offer a 20% sampling discount.
The winery is always having fun filled events throughout the year.Helpful 109Thanks 0Love this 105Oh no 0Business owner information

Glad to hear that your visit to my winery was enjoyable. We all work hard for every customer to try and make each and every visit memorable and relaxing. Please visit us again in the future, bring food and enjoy our porch overlooking the vineyard. Paul
May 15, 2021Previous reviewTruly impressed with Brook Hollow Wines. I didn't know New Jersey could produce such "excellent, full-bodied wines".
We visited this winery after visiting another nearby winery.
Upon entering the winery, looking to your right you'll see a long rustic looking wine tasting bar.
Looking to the left, you'll see tables and wine bins.
At the wine bar, you can order either the popular or premium flights for about $10.00. Yelp does offer a discount.
Also, you can order by the glass or bottle.
Outside, there were tables and chairs where you could sit and sample wine flights. That's what we did.
In addition, you could bring your own food.
It's enjoyable to sit outside, because you have a beautiful view of the Vineyard.
The white wines were wonderful. I think on our next visit, I will definitely purchase some of them..
I'm not a fan of Rosé Wines, but this rosé was dynamite (it came home with us).
Anyway, 3 Wonderful Wines-Frontanec (Red Blend), Rosé and Cabernet Franc came home with us !!! :D
Each of these wines were in the $20 plus range.
The winery does have upcoming events from a fish fry, comedy, pig roast etc....
In addition, they have a cool gift area with great wine accessories.
Just wanna say, thanks to Pam for great assistance at the wine bar.

We stopped in for food but there was a car show across from the place on that day so only wine in the location. The two wine/ bartenders were so polite and welcoming. They were also quite knowledgeable about their wine selection. We had a few samples of various white wines, and the Reisling I had was a perfect semi-sweet!! I bought a bottle of it! My mom had a lovely dessert wine and she loved it too! The place is very quaint and has a rustic ambiance. Lots of wood and feels cozy in there. We are from out of town and the female bartender gave another great recommendation for lunch in the area. I love when one business supports another! We will go back to Brook Hollow Winery for sure.

Hidden gem!! Beautiful wedding venue for anyone looking for DIY options with a homely feel and a hands-free day-of experience. And competitive prices to boot (especially relative to the metro areas of Philadelphia and New York)! We did our own decorations, and the event staff allowed us to configure the space exactly as we wanted. Nonetheless, the event staff added some nice decorative touches and ran a smooth event. There is only 1 wedding per day, so you have the venue and staffs' full attention. Communication was excellent, and there was ZERO drama or big-day mess-ups.
Of the many unique aspects of the venue, my favorite was complete access to the space. Rather than constraining us to a small indoor space where everyone dances or sits with their cliques, we had access to a fire pit outside, a covered wrap-around space to mingle, games, a gazebo, and the beautiful vineyard. The space provided a comfortable feel for everyone - whether they wanted to dance, sit around the fire, mingle around outdoor stand-up tables, or play games. There is plenty of covered outdoor areas too, so some rain didn't ruin our fun.
A couple of small notes:
Be clear about what the venue should do if you go over on wine with an open bar, and don't forget to confirm your policy on the day of (or you'll get charged afterwards).
Ask for the AC to be turned on in the Groom's getting ready room.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Great place to come for an afternoon! Beautiful grounds, great wine, and live music plus different events. I absolutely love the wine slushies they have. My personal favorite it the cranberry raspberry one. A couple of riders and horses stopped by today too! Always a great experience!

WOW!!!!!! Thank you so very much! It means a great deal to me to hear feedback like this and it makes it all worth it! Thanks for your continued support. Paul
Oct 6, 2018Previous reviewI've been here several times. The location is beautiful and the wines are delicious! They have a variety of events for everyone. Just got back from the pig roast and had a great time. This is one of the best wineries in the northeast!

Amazing how big and popular they are now! Added a large pavilion next door. We did tastings there before but this day it was used as a venue for a shower.
Little confusing when you go in. Tastings in the original building. It also
Looked like you could choose some samples and take outside. Lots of people outside picnicking and listening to music. Not a lot of cover but some people bought tent covers.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Donna thank you for coming back and supporting my winery. Our event center across the street is always used for private parties weddings and things of that nature. Covid last year shut that business entirely down so we were able to move the wine tasting into that much larger building. Now that Covid restrictions are lifted we are now once again using the event center for what it was originally built for. The winery which is the building you visited is smaller than the event center. The indoor portion of the winery is used for guided wine tastings. You also have the option of a wine flight and that is given to you and brought outside. Our covered porch is 112 feet long and has the large 8 foot wooden tables and a few small café tables on it. We tell our guests that they are more than welcome to bring their own seating and pop-up tents as well. We do have café tables on the lawn and enough to see 48 people. Covid has changed the way many businesses conduct themselves and we were not insulated from that at all. Again thank you so much for the great review and I hope to see you back very soon at the winery enjoying my wine and the surrounding area. Paul

This was an impromptu trip for the wife and I and we definitely enjoyed ourselves. Place for wine tasting is a massive hall with rows of tables, was pretty empty when we were there. Couldn't see the grounds well because it was evening and there was a massive rain storm over the area.
Wines lean on the dry side so take that into consideration going in. I'm not a big dry wine guy myself, I prefer to know I drank liquid after I drank liquid. Flavors were good though so if you like that style give it a go!
If you're using Google Map to find this place be careful, it wanted us to turn off early into the middle of a field so keep your eyes out for signs.
Place is definitely wheelchair friendly. Large spacious walkways and the bathrooms are generously sized.
We had a good time here. Not sure if they serve any sort of food (we didn't see any) but if they offered something up, even pretzels or something to help soak up the alcohol I think it would be greatly appreciated, especially for the drunken couple we saw stumbling around the parking lot.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Thanks for visiting and the review! Your visit was actually the event center hall and not the winery as we moved there that day in preparation for a winery event. We do not serve food but we do allow people to bring food in and we offer local places that deliver for those who inquire. One thing we definitely do not do is over serve alcohol as we care about our customers and others that are traveling. Please come back soon and enjoy the winery building. Thanks for supporting NJ wineries. Paul
