Northampton, MA
A chain that does it right.
The cape is soo saturated with mediocre places that something done well stands out. This is the best place for pizza so far. There are several places around Sandwich that have pizza none have come close yet.
The multi-grain crust is what really takes the cake.
The beer selection really isn't that impressive as you would think unless you like English beers, otherwise their micro-brew choices are rather limited.
The other locations around the cape and eastern mass are actually better and nicer than this one. -

I generally do not dine at chain restaurants (or even bother to write restaurants about them too), but compared to most chains, this one is somewhat decent. Given the fact that the Cape runs on three months worth of revenue alone, it is nice to be able to go down there and find something that is open year round.
The menu at this place is pretty extensive with many options for even the pickiest eaters to choose from. What brings it down, though, is that there is nothing really unique on the menu. I tried the grilled cheese with apple slices, and although it was decently made, it is not something I would rush back to try. There are not many healthy options on this menu, so if weight loss is something that weighs heavily on your mind, steer clear of this place. In addition, the portions are gigantic. If you have a tiny stomach like mine, then be prepared to fill up fast and bring the food home with you.
Now, let's get the real reason why anyone goes here: the beer. On this mark, this restaurant totally gets it right. The beer list is big enough that it warrants its own separate menu to peruse. One of the really great things about this place is that you can order as many samples of different brews as you would like. I first found this really overwhelming, but our waitress was extremely knowledgeable about the beer choices and super willing to help us find ones to sample that we might like. I really enjoyed the Cape Cod Red Ale, but my favorite (by far) was the Hobgoblin. It wasn't too light or too heavy, and it had a tinge of sweetness to it that made it just right.
This place is best enjoyed when going out for drinks with friends. Whenever I do go back, I generally order the Hobgoblin along with some other sample ales to see if there are any others I might like as much. This place also has live music on occasion, which helps to make this bar a fun place to catch up with friends. -

Canton, MA
Stopped by after a long day on the beach on a Saturday night for some drinks and apps. Started with the sweet potato fries, portion was smaller than you'd get as a side, it was almost awkward when the server put it on the table, I got the impression she was hoping we wouldn't say anything. Next got the "chopped" scallop and bacon pizza. What we got were frozen bay scallops, yuck. I found the description and higher price point a little misleading.
Worst though I sent an email to the corporate chef and head of marketing, not a rant or anything, just describing my experience and being sure to compliment them on all the other good experiences I've had there. Nothing back, I find that extremely bush. I forwarded my complaints to the queen. -

We gave the brew pub a try as we were staying in the lodge next door (get 10% off your meal with a room key). The bacon scallop pizza sounded amazing and it was! All except for the scallops. The waitress asked how dinner was and I told her the scallops were a little fishy - like they hadn't been rinsed or were very old. I'm not sure she could have cared less - not a flick of an expression.
The leftover pizza was great - minus the scallops. It's just too bad that she didn't even feign an apology. Perhaps check with the kitchen? Someone could get sick from bad seafood.... -

Great pizza, friendly crowd, cozy atmosphere, fun nightlife, good live bands Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

I always make a point to visit BBC when I'm on the Cape, it's my favorite chain restaurant of all time.
It's SO hard to choose a beer, especially since I love Sam Smith and they carry all of their big bottles. Make sure you take a look at their place mat - it will let you know which beer is on special and which dish to pair it with.
I usually stick to the Shepard's Pie, but this last time I got adventurous and tried the Bangers and Mash. It was delicious, but the portion was HUGE! I'd recommend sharing it.
I've had yet to experience the late night bar, but I've heard it's great! -

You have to love the BBC's. This Sandwich location was my first exposure to this local chain. Have been to the locations in Falmouth Heights (awesome location!), Walpole, Plymouth and Franklin. Sandwich location is right of 6A and is like a neighborhood bar. You can not go wrong with the Pizza at BBC and have enjoyed their Onion soup and sea food dishes as well. Sandwich is a sleepy town, but the BBC really rocks on Friday and Saturday nights, have seen some great live music here on many an occasion.

I'm not a big chain restaurant fan....however....
I love this place!
(I love the one in Norwell too.)
The service was great, the food was inexpensive and fresh.
It's pub-food, so don't expect gourmet.
Servings are huge.
Great family place....
Late-night gets crowded too.....the bar is large and super-friendly.
Good Imports on tap also.

Drink the beer, try the pasties or pub food, skip the fish tacos.
Its a British style pub, nothing more than that, don't let some of the "upscale" items on the menu fool you. My Mom and Caitlin enjoyed their pasties, do'nt know what Dad got-but he killed it quickly. I took a walk on the wild side (well wild for here) against my better judgement and was disappointed not so much in the blackened haddock or the huge non-taco friendly sized chunks of avacado, tomato, onion and other taco fixings, but by the generic Ortega shells that were straight outta aisle 13 at the Stop n' Shop down the street.
It is not bad, and is an oasis of tunes in live music deprived Sandwich. Come on down, just play to their strengths! -
Review from Brigid M.
The one in Hyannis is better. The service is quicker, the set-up more appropriate, and better offerings (even though I thought they had the same menu). This BBC in Sandwich is a barely OK.
Its definitely better than Bobby Byrne's but don't waste your time if you're closer to exit 6. -

I came here for a friend's private birthday party, which was in the sunroom side of the place.
Food - large selection of what I would be best be able to describe as "upscale bar food"...a glorifed and more refined version of your average fare.
Drinks - Large drink menu of British (of course) brews as well as Belgian imports
Service - there was one waitress tending to our party and we had about 25 guests - she was overwhelmed, unfriendly, forgot orders. I felt bad for her though, I saw her cleaning tables later on that night...she was wayyyy overworked. I wouldn't be too excited or friendly either in her situation either.
Music - live band played cover songs of Beatles, Elvis Costello, more country-ish stuff I didn't recognize, and stuff like that. Fun guys.
Crowd - aside from our party there was a strange mix of locals here who seemed in awe of our party - they were totally staring at our group dancing infront of the band and having fun. Obviously we lit up the bar way more than they're used to.
I had a good time nonetheless and probably might enjoy a place like this on a less crowded evening, where I would *hope* we could get a little better service under normal conditions. -

I really enjoyed the BBC.
Completely different from anything near where I live. The place is quaint, decorated like a traditional British pub. Dark woods, low ceilings. Without the pre-packaged feel of a chain such as Friday's. Very cool interior.
The food was surprisingly good. We (a group of four golfers) ate there two nights in a row and I had the soft fish tacos then the Bourbob BBQ steak tips. The steak tips come with planko crusted green beans and cheddar mashed taters (yum!).
Drinks were adequate. The beer selection quite good. Service was VERY good.
I would not hesitate at all to go back there and take a slow crusie through the entire menu.
Live music later in the evening. What more can you ask for? -

Good food. Multigrain pizza has some awesomeness to it! Went for lunch and it was quiet but looks like it would be a fun place for dinner.

My wife and I love the BBC! They have great food in a cozy UK pub like atmosphere.
If you are looking for a quieter place to sit, ask to sit in the front room (right next to the host station).
The beer selection is great if you are looking for something out of the ordinary. I personally like the Fuller's Porter and (in the fall) Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale (they put cinnamon on the rim of the glass!). -

Good selection of Beers and American pub food. Later in the evening there is usualy live music which is always a good thing.
Brian is a regular professional bartender. The food is basic Pub fare so stick to the pizza, burgers or the Steak Bomb. The folks at the bar are good people so talk to them and you'll have a good time -

Oh my goodness!! Thank you, Yelp, for leading us here!
Reminds us so much of the pubs we visited while in Great Britain, right down to the Strongbow on tap! (although I had to order the Monty Python's Holy Grail Ale...just because:)
Hubby had the fish and chips (big surprise, I know...) and he dubbed it: "the best fried fish I've ever had!" I had the fish tacos, which were quite impressive as well--3 soft shells with blackened fish, and sides of avocado, tomato, lettuce, salsa and a tasty pickled pepper combo! (I see another reviewer suggested skipping the fish tacos...can't imagine...maybe he went with the hard shell. SOFT shell with fish...always.)
The pub itself was very inviting--inside and out. Handsome wood throughout, low ceilings, and a lit fireplace gave it a cozy feeling...and the white Christmas lights added a friendly glow (don't know if they are up all year, but they should be!)
We liked it so much, we are going to try another BBC location next week before we leave New England just to compare it to the Sandwich location.
KUDOS, BBC! -

Sandwich, MA
The BBC is pretty good when it comes to English pub fare, and it's one of the best restaurants in Sandwich. Great beer selection, and the pizza is delicious! It tastes more like what I would think pizza *should* taste like as opposed to the gazillion other pizza joints in this town. They have a hefty portion size for the fish n' chips; the baked brie appetizer is yummy. They know how to serve French Onion soup: in a big bowl with a ton of cheese!! If it's a cold winter day, ask if you can sit by the fireplace, it's very cozy. The ambiance kicks up when there's a live band playing.

We were driving back to our accomodations on the late-side one night and stopped here just because we were too hungry to risk missing a meal and we really enjoyed BBC. There was karaoke, which was fun and entertaining. We were seated away from the mix but the energy was infectious. My son enjoyed his meal and wanted MORE cheddar mashed potatoes... the food was good and the selection of beer was nice. We had a good time. Our dog was with us on this trip and when we mentioned that he was waiting on us, the waitress went out of her way to package him a true "doggie" bag with some added treats that were canine-friendly. Very nice !!

BBC is exactly what you would expect it to be. A pub feel with a nice selection of beers & cocktails/frozen drinks, and pretty good food, especially since it's probably more popular as a bar than a restaurant. They have sweet potato fries which is a plus, and the menu has many options and is very reasonably priced. In addition they are located right on the water, so if you are lucky enough to get a seat by the window the view is very pretty. My only gripe- the service has been slow both times I visited.

North Attleboro, MA
I have passed this place a few times, but finally decided to stop in. It feels like one would expect from a British pub with lots of wood and British advertisements. The food was mostly American which from what I hear is a good thing. A good selection with burgers, steaks, salads, sandwiches, pizzas. Good beer selection, too! Not only the standards, but some British ales on tap as well. This is a fun place to go.

Hands down my favorite watering hole on the Cape. Not only do they have good food and a great beer selection, but they also have WiFi. That's the trifecta in my book!

Brookline, MA
One of the best bars in terms of atmosphere we've been to in MA.
Bustling and live bands at night. We went when Glass Town covered a range of different rock, pop, etc. songs -- they were great.
The food is decent for typical bar fare. We got the portabello and spinach pizza, the curry pasty (too sour, but the waitress happily replaced it in a timely manner to a delicious chicken and leek pasty), and a grilled chicken and rice pilaf.
Beer selection is actually good with a variety of different of British drafts.
We would definitely go back. -

Forestdale, MA
What a disappointment! Will never go back! After spending over $125 and leaving a $25 tip we were given the bum's rush with a full 2 hours before closing. As soon as my wife finished her drink we were questioned by a surprisingly rude hostess/waitress person as to why we were still there. We had been neither loud nor boisterous. To the contrary. There were still at least 40 people still in another part of the restaurant. Apparently someone had an interest in closing that area of the restaurant we were in.

We used to love the BBC & have eaten there for years. Over the last year we've enjoyed eating there less & less. There pizza is the worst. Save your money & go to Bobby Burns in the Stop & Shop plaza.

Food is OK. I think if we were into the pub scene we would have enjoyed it more. Service was really horrible the last time we went. We actually walked out because we had been seated for over 20 minutes without a waitress in sight.

After having dinner nearby, we decided to stop at the BBC for a post-dinner drink. We ended up staying for 4 hours. We sat at the bar and found new friends while watching the Red Sox. The bartender was awesome, but I can't remember his name. One of the new friends at the bar called him Johnny Drama(from Entourage), and he definitely fits the description. He was great at keeping an eye on our beers and making sure we weren't waiting too long for a new one. By the end of the Sox game, a blues band had set up and was rocking out. The bar area was packed, and everybody seemed to be having a blast. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for someplace that's a little more lively.

We drove by on a Wednesday night and the parking lot was full - everyone was right, the food was very good.
The Hostess was very welcoming and our waitress was also very good
We all enjoyed our meals and the price was fair.
