Late night Chicken & Waffles totally hit the spot. I don't think I've ever had a craving so effectively satisfied.

Classic diner fare, open until 4am!

I used to come here all the time in the past. It was my go-to on late nights after dancing with friends for diner food and long philosophical drunken conversations.
The food is good. It's definitely not McDonald's quality, but it's also not so good that it justifies the high prices for your meal.

The ambiance is great. Walk in to what looks like a life sized curiosity cabinet of random antique finds hung up on walls next to each other for you to try to make sense of it all. Large tables with comfy cushioned seating makes this Spot awesome for big groups. The dim lighting makes the place feel warm and inviting, Fall colors dominate this 1940s style construction and wacky decor.

A meal will run you between $12-$20

    Open kitchen is comforting.
Sometimes the food takes a long time
And depending on the day the staff may be stellar or bitchy.
One time i called in to place an order and the girl who answered was really rude when i got confused about their two veggie sandwich options and told me to figure out what i wanted and call back when i knew.  Other times the servers are super friendly and even engage you in conversation while you are there. It really depends.

Location is great. And food is at least better than Fred 62s. Maybe Swingers would be it's more accurate comparison as far as food offered, quality of food and pricing.

I stopped coming here over two years ago and lately in the last 3 months i have been twice for late night cravings.
If it's just you, your almost better off going somewhere else, if you are in a group, it might be worth the late-night visit to keep the party going in the chill, cool atmosphere of this place.

Lots of vegan options makes this place good for a group of friends who have different dietary preferences. Not a full-blown vegan menu but enough Vegan options that no one has to compromise on their food.

More of a young place for young Emos on fixies. I brought my grandma here and she didn't like it at all.

Spent the night dancing my ass off at The Echo for Funky Sole night. Was happy to find a cafe right down the street. We got seated right away at a booth, but noticed it did continue to get more crowded and people were having to wait. We arrived at about 12:30 AM.

I was torn between CA eggs benedict (for some unknown reason) or the chicken and waffles. I decided on the benedict. Right when it came out I knew it was a bad idea. They don't know how to make hollandaise sauce and it tasted kind of sour. I did not enjoy anything on this plate after a coupe of bites. The waitress came back and was super friendly and accommodating in exchanging it out for the Chicken and Waffles. She was so ambivalent about me sending my food back, I began to think this happens a lot. Was wishing she would've steered me away from the CA eggs benedict in the first place and save us all some time.

I gave this place 2 stars because of the service and the chicken and waffle was actually not bad. The waffle was light and crisp and the chicken moist and tasty. Had a hint of honey sweetness in the batter. The batter was thin and not overwhelming the chicken. I recommend it.

I kind of liked the atmosphere. Not a large restaurant, but interesting for people watching and it's open late night.

Parking: scarce. Look for street or they have a few spots on the side if you get lucky.

Thursday night is never to be taken lightly. I was out with some co-workers at a company event, after which we made our way over to the DTLA Art Walk. Several hours of walking through crowds and waiting in lines can make you pretty hungry. We decided to make our way over to my neighborhood and grab some dinner on the way. Leaving downtown around 1:30am means no traffic and plenty of green lights. The downside is that most restaurants are already closed down for the night. Thankfully, Brite Spot is open late every night.

Once we finally managed to wedge our car in the tiny, miniscule Brite Spot parking lot, we headed inside for some late night eats. It must have been around 2am and the place was packed. Some booths even had eight or more people in them. But no matter, everyone was keeping to themselves and the vibe was very laid back and casual. Because there were so many people in such a small restaurant it caused everyone to try to talk over each other which then led to everyone yelling at their friends that were just on the other side of the table.

It took us all about 15 minutes or so to read the entire menu. The selection was huge and they have pretty much whatever it is you're craving. I decided to go with the breakfast burrito (with a side of rice) and a cup of coffee. Breakfast foods are among my favorite foods and I love being able to eat them past midnight. I'm not sure if they charged me for refills of coffee or what, but the average "diner" coffee they serve was pretty expensive. Most diners will give you an okay cup o' joe for a buck or two. I think $4-5 for simple drip coffee is a little steep.

It took a while for our food to come out, but because the place was so busy we didn't mind. Two cups of coffee in and our food came out hot from the kitchen. My burrito was a good size and came cut in half. The inside was scorching hot so I still had to give it a bit to cool down. When the molten lava became edible I practically inhaled the whole thing. Going until 2-3am without eating dinner is not awesome in my book. The flour tortilla was filled with eggs, beans, cheese, and came with a side of mild salsa. The eggs were nice and fluffy, the sausage was juicy, and the delicious melted cheese helped tie it all together.

Brite Spot is in Echo Park and is always open late. This brings in the typical hipster crowd with mustaches and skinny jeans galore. But I'm used to it, especially being a 21 year old living in Los Feliz. The food was just decent diner food, but really hit the spot after a long night out. If you live in the area it's a great spot to cure your munchies or to help you sober up after hitting the bars!

Would have loved to have dished out more stars for the Brite Spot - very cool diner, good parking options, and pretty good service, and lots of yummy options on the menu.

I saw the chilaquiles, and had to order them. But when they arrived, they didn't look (or taste) anything like the chilaquiles I was craving (you know the kind - gruesos smothered in red sauce (or green, I'm cool with that, too), sprinkled with cheese, onions, and creama) with an egg mixed into the chips/sauce. What arrived was more like eggy-nachos. Disappointing. And I had to steal my friend's sour cream.

The food was still good - just not what I wanted. I would go back, but I'll have to remind myself to just stick to pie and burgers.

DELICIOUS VEGGIE NACHOS! and classic diner seats!
The nachos were served on the kind of tortilla chips that are hand-fried and greasy! Came upon this place totally unexpectedly and it was a great find.
The service was a bit slow (only one waiter working the night we went) and it became one of those instances where you wait around for you check and you're not sure who exactly to ask for it...you know? But the delicious nachos totally made up for it!

    Long live the Brite Spot!

-One of the great diners in LA!-

When my friends said let's go to Brite Spot and I checked out the 3 star rating I was hesitant to go, but I was glad I did. This place definitely deserves 4 stars or at least 3 1/2 stars! The atmosphere was really dope, staff was friendly, and the food was quality.

    Highlights:

-Spicy Pork Burger (the waitress recommended it and was spot on...really good)

-Peanut Butter Milkshake (now this was something special) ...apparently their red velvet milkshake is amazing and I can believe that from the quality of the peanut butter milkshake, but they didn't have any red velvet left, so I will be back to try it!

Everything else the my friends had all looked great and they had no complaints. I would definitely come back here again!

Hello, new favorite neighborhood breakfast joint.  I am sorry that I hesitated for so long before pulling the trigger on this one because this is a gold mine just blocks away from my bed.  My kitchen and I have not been on breakfast terms for several weeks since Brite Spot came into my life.  (Sorry, kitchen.  I still love you for dinner.  Most nights.)  Extensive menu with veggie/vegan options for a.m. or p.m. hours, and weekday breakfast specials.  They are often slammed (at all hours), but the wait is worth it.  The coffee's a tad on the expensive side for a diner ($2.65 w/ free refills), but I find that most of their menu is quite reasonably priced.  I am looking forward to trying their vegetarian chili and their milkshakes.  Somehow I haven't been able to justify that as a decent breakfast option so far, but I'm starting to cave.

No more breakfast specials means that you have to pay a few extra bucks for cold food.

The Britespot used to be my favorite place.  Now, every time I go I get cold food.  I had to send back a burger, pancakes, and this morning I got cold rice.  I assume their microwave is broken.  The food at Britespot is not very good.  Its convenient and local.

I only have to walk a block to get there, but now I will drive a few miles to go somewhere that serves hot food for the same price.  The breakfast specials used to be my excuse to go there.  Now, the only good reason to go is for the guy in the morning who continues to give you hot coffee and fill your water.  He is the best part of Britespot.  Next time I walk by I will ask for his name and build a shrine for him.  And if he ever leaves Britespot, I wil follow.

Sorry, Britespot.  I will no longer give you my money.

Food - Depends what you order. Burger = AMAZING. Fried Chicken - pretty good. Mashed Potatoes = Yechhy.

Price - Overpriced for sure, but I guess you are paying for ambiance (see next line..)

Ambiance - AWESOME. Can't stop looking around at all the random things in there that make you feel like you are either in a time warp, or that you are just EXTREMELY HIPSTER. Music was SO great (50's pop) that I couldn't help but dance in my seat repeatedly and subsequently embarrass my girlfriend. I didn't care..

WAITRESS - Margaret, the elderly waitress is such a firecracker, that we couldn't stop talking about her all nite. Made our dining experience SO pleasurable that I can't wait to go back. LOVE THIS WOMAN. She is what I aspire to be when I'm in my 80's...

I like a leisurely Sunday breakfast as much as the next person but I think they take the term leisurely a little too far. The food was delicious and the decor rocked. This hipster haven would have gotten 5 stars if not for the fact that the service was so slow. Slow to get seated (in a not totally packed restaurant), slow to take our order, slow to bring our food, and slow to come back around to pick up the check. If you can handle the turtle pace I would indeed recommend this place to any fellow civilian especially if you're in the area late night cause they're open til about 4 am on weekends.

I used to come here after going to DTLA for nightlife.  Now that I am settled and be much more of a homebody, I don't frequently come here as often but it's a good place to go after hours.  Open till 4 am, hardly a wait, and accommodates parties 4-12 people with no problem.

They have great options and a wide selection of food.

Oh Brite Spot. My haven for late-night dining when Fred 62 just seems impossibly far away.  Let's be honest, Brite Spot. Your food is really not that great, but thank god you're there. You're always full of fashionable folk, and after a couple too many at the Echo, there's just no where else to turn but to your wood-paneled arms again.

Came to the Brite Spot after drinking at the Mohawk Bend which is basically across the street. The food was good. The portions were pretty generous. Went with a little group and we all chowed down. I got the chicken pesto pannini  with fries and it was really tasty. The bread was toasted and a bit chewy which was a good texture. The chicken was juicy and the pesto had a good flavor. We also got chili cheese fries with bacon bits... oh boy that was awesome after some dranks. The service was pretty good. There were lots of people in there when we went which was around 1:30-2am. I'd go there again and try the other plates on the menu.

This review is LONG overdue. . .

Is it possible to love something SO much you start to hate it?  YES!! OK, maybe not hate, but I sometimes don't want to come here, yet, I always leave satisfied.

I've lived about 5mins from this place for almost 3yrs.  After a recommendation from friends, we decided to check it out.  Since our first visit (I think in the summer), my family and I have, almost weekly, dined here religiously.  This is my "I don't want to cook dinner" place after work.  We're so like Cheers with the staff now, except they don't know my name. lol.  Ok, maybe we aren't like cheers.  But, they remember us.  :)

Brite Spot is a total hole in the wall, with an Echo Park trendy price.  The restaurant itself looks like its remained in its original decor since the possible 70's?, which to me adds character.  Love it!  Sparkly vinyl seats, random wall accents, low lighting provided by beaded wall sconces and orange strainers on the tables used to hold the jam. . . I could go on, but you should just check it out on your own.  Uber cuteness!!

Service is good.  I love the wait staff, maybe even a little more than the food.  Maybe.  They're pretty attentive.  Every once in a while I've had to wait to put in an order, but when there's two people running the floor AND cashier during a busy night, its understandable.  However, I often get bugged because the wait for the food can get pretty lengthy.  Maybe there's only two people working that too?? lol.

Anyway, food is great, but a little overpriced.  If your a breakfast lover like myself, you're in luck!  They serve it all freaking day!!  Holler!!  My favs are all three of the different eggs benedict, curry burger (soooo mouthwatering and flavorful!!), chicken pesto panini, some kind of quesadilla (idk what the exact name is but it has steak and tons of veggies).  My kids love the French toast and pancake combos.  Because the kitchen is cool, they let my kiddos have choco chips in the batter.  I love me some freshly baked treats and there are plenty of those as well.  The selection varies, from what I've seen.  But, most days you can find delicious red velvet/creamcheese frosting (huge) cupcakes, choco chip cookies, pies and other yummo goodies.  Also, there are very good variety of vegetarian dishes in the menu too.  Something for everyone!!

There is a parking lot, but its super small.  However, there is plenty of street parking.

Eat here for the good eats and cool peeps, if not the unusual wall decor.  lol

i have been here sooooo many times that i think that i've shyed away from yelping it because of it.  but, it's about time i review it because i love it so much.  as with all places, there are pros and cons about it... but the cons are limited:  it gets crowded on friday/saturday nights, and the parking lot is awkward.

the pros, however, are many many many.  the food is good.  the choices are plentiful.  the prices are acceptable.  the convenience is unbeatable if you like to play in echo park.  the business hours rule.  the desserts are SO yummy.  the coffee is bomb dot com.  the service is friendly and kind.  the music playing is allllllways good.

I like you Brite Spot, really I do.

My only qualm with you is sometimes at night, the booth service for groups is spotty.  The servers have always been friendly but sometimes, after they've sat you down and given you drinks and menus, they've taken a long time to get back.   Once awhile back, I arrived with a group at night, placed our drink orders and didn't see a server again for our table.  Drinks weren't even brought over and we were sitting there for at least 20 minutes.  After the half hour mark we just got up and left.  I think we grubbed at the Burrito King nearby instead.

But that seems to have been the exception and now that I've gotten that off my chest, I can move on with my review.

I've been been going to the Brite Spot for years. When I first moved to town and didn't know anyone, I'd come in early in the morning, post up at the counter, and chow down on your before 11 AM breakfast specials with a cup of bottomless coffee.  My favorite waitresses were the lil white lady with the bent over back (She's a firecracker, always efficient and busy and very personable.  Always made me feel welcome.) and the almost monosyllabic middle-aged filipina lady in the hair net who'd silently cruise by with a hot pot of coffee and fill up my bottomless mug when I wasn't looking.   You had quite a cast of characters frequenting and working at the place and it made for an interesting experience.

The food is down home diner food and hasn't disappointed me in all the years I've been going - from the steak and eggs with the obrien potatoes, to the turkey dinner at Thanksgiving, to the newly revamped dessert case (umm delicious presentation by the way!) and everything else in between.

I've eaten there at all hours of the day now and for different occasions (after partying, during Lotus Blossom Festival, before heading out to Disneyland, need to do some work and not be distracted, etc) and it's still my go-to diner spot when I've got a free day to myself and want to relive my new-to-town single girl days.

Although you've updated your look and menu over the years, you haven't gotten all frou frou on me.  Thanks a bunch for all the good food and times.  I'll be seeing you again soon Brite Spot!  (Probably during some late night craving...I can't wake up early enough anymore to save my life.

It was either very late at night or very early in the morning
    A night of drinking
There we were, sitting in a booth in The Brite Spot
I never really liked the food there

There was some commotion at a booth next to us but far enough away
A girl with a prosthetic leg was being lifted up off the booths bench
She had just thrown up on the floor; there was a big puddle of vomit
Another friend grabbed the fake leg that was leaning up against her booth
They got her outside and put her leg back on her and wiped her mouth

I watched as the busboy went to go grab a mop and a bucket
He had a look on his face like he hated his job
I think it was not the first time something like this had happened

I took the last sip of my coffee and put down my paper napkin
    I've never gone back

I was really exited about this place because I wanted the all-American dinner experience. The place looks really cool inside. However, the service is painfully slow, we actually had to go and call the server.

I order a $ 10 dollar  burger with no cheese and fries. I though, this burger better be really good to be 10 bucks, but unfortunately the burger was a disaster-- a bit better than cardboard inside a bun. As it turns out, it was the most expensive cardboard that I ever bought ! The  meat was dry and bland. The fries we soggy and my coke was flat.

Also, is not good for big groups, we had a group of 8 and we had to seat in in 2 different booths. I heard their pastries are good, but after that lunch I didn't not wanted to give their sweets a try.

This is def a dive-y kinda diner and i think one shoudn't expect to much, i mean come on, its in echo park lol but it was quite enjoyable. The best thing about this place is the adorably feisty elderly waitress.....omg id just come back to see her and mostly to order the nachos, they looked so good...ugh totally homer drool status! One my of friends asked her what she recommended, and the lady responded "anything, im swamped.what do you want honey?" haha a lady after my own heart. i loved how she would call everyone honey or sweetie.

anyways, def best to come with just 1-3 other ppl. def not great for groups since the place is a bit small and has small booths.and bring cash cause they only allow one card per check!!!

I thought our service was pretty good, although the lady kept coming to our table with food we didnt order, but hey id be happy to take if she gave it to me for free haha but i didnt care much cause I knew it was the our other friends at the booth next to us. My food was pretty yummy, all i know is that i inhaled my chicken panini pesto with the fries.

all in all a delightful diner, id def come back with the order of nachos and the huge brownie they had in their display.

    3stars for food
5 stars for the adorable feisty elderly lady
    4 for service.

The french fries are always great they are never oily, and do not feel guilty giving some to my 17 month old.My husband always gets breakfeast the ol' bacon and eggs which he always enjoys, and thier coffee taste great and gives you the extra zap that I usually need. Alll in all a good place to go but dont expect too much-remeber it is a diner.

So I'd heard about this place from friends and decided I'd try it with a lady. Right away, the water tasted like chalk and made my mouth feel like I had just eaten chalk dust - a very strange experience but my meal-mate agreed. I ordered the Reuben which wasn't particularly good and the meat wasn't cut in a way that allowed for easy eating. We ordered a chocolate milkshake ($6 which is ridiculous, I don't care how big it is) and it upset my stomach to the point where I had to run to the bathroom about 5 minutes after consumption.

My meal-mate ordered the sweet potato fries and the chicken strips and she enjoyed those.

The service was good but we were there at 2:30 am and there were about 3 other tables of people in the entire restaurant.

I am not a picky eater - I enjoy almost anything no matter the quality but this was pathetic, gross, and overpriced. I will not be back.

I wish Yelp would do half stars. This place is 3.5.

A few weekends ago, I ended up at a very strange dance party downtown in a very strange unfurnished house, serving very strange vodka cocktails, ran by a very strange Asian lady where I worked up quite an appetite on the dance floor....fast forward 2am with an SUV full of hungries!!

We headed over to Echo Park and parked it at Brite Spot.

Atmosphere: Diner, not terribly special...booths, revolving stools at the bar, glass case by the register filled with yummy looking pastries, hipsters scattered throughout and one guy wearing a leather jacket that he painted a portrait of Axl Rose on the back (check out the photos on yelp) of.

Service: Several reviewers complained about the service but I'm not going to be one of them. I mean, it's a diner. The waitress took our order, served our food all simultaneously and relatively quickly and she didn't eff up the check. I suppose I could've stood to have my water freshened or something but this isn't Spago; it's a diner. My expectations are mediocre at best.

Food: I have a strict policy at diners: order a cheeseburger. I had the bacon cheeseburger with onions and a side of fries. Pretending to be a dainty lady, I cut my burger in half and offered it to my friend. He politely declined and since I don't know him that well and think he's cute, I didn't want to look like a pig and I kept insisting that he eat it because I "could never finish the entire thing". Well....I took one bite of my burger and regretted my silly, insincere offer. I wanted to devour the entire thing....and I did. It was delish and highly satisfying. Regular white bun, with a relatively hefty, juicy patty, layered with grilled onions, perfect-level-of-crispness bacon and processed cheese product. It was no Father's Office burger but it's not trying to be. The fries were only average.

*sigh* After my abysmal behavior with the burger, my friend offered me half his order of french toast. I TRIED to pretend like I didn't want it but he just kept letting it sit there, torturing me....so I ate it too. He either was afraid not to give me more food or he felt sorry for me, I don't know which. The french toast was only okay, more like Texas toast with powdered sugar drizzled on top. I like my french toast heavily dipped in the egg batter and allowed to soak it up for a second or two before throwing it on the grill.

All in all, a great late night spot! Sometimes I have to deviate from pork tacos, you know. I would go back during the day too. I love diner food and I've heard their breakfast quesadilla is bomb.

Honey Bunny: [about to rob a diner] I love you, Pumpkin.
Pumpkin: I love you, Honey Bunny.
Pumpkin: [Standing up with a gun] All right, everybody be cool, this is a robbery!
Honey Bunny: Any of you fucking pricks move, and I'll execute every motherfucking last one of ya!

That scene wasn't filmed here cuz Tarantino fucked up. This place is interesting which kinda defines every diner. Who was there at 2pm on a Thursday? Let's see...

    * Sleazy drugged out stripper in lingerie
    * Her boyfriend that literally just got outta bed
    * Disgruntled salesman that hates his job... awash in misery
    * Old pervy looking guy in the corner working his laptop

But there was also a very cheery girl with fantastic, wildly bright colored hair working the register and tables. She was on happy pills or likely just has that "IT" that few possess.

Oh yea...KC had a turkey club which is obviously the sandwich that makes or breaks diners. Their version was solid. Do you know why a turkey club is money? It's because each ingredient compliments the next. Turkey needs salt...bacon takes care of that. Bacon is salty and hot...lettuce takes care of that. Lettuce needs lube...mayo takes care of that. Mayo needs a surface...toast takes care of that. The whole thing needs color...BAM...tomatoes bitch!

The fries do suck here. Nice club though.

I think people should love it for what it is! A diner that cares. High quality ingredients. The option of organic cane sugar or warm sweet agave with your tea or coffee. Good tasting food. Eccentric meal options... the ability to turn anything you want vegan or veggie, plus it's open till 4am. The service can be slow and orders can get mucked up but it's a diner people... tell me you'd rather be at Denny's? It's a unique spot. A bright spot. :)

Vegetarian/vegan friendly diner. The prices are a little high, as I am used to the typical East Coast diner where prices are super cheap, but this is a city, after all. It's a good place to go when nothing else is open and it's late and you don't feel like cooking. They have some American staples, and some Mexican dishes too. I usually order the vegetarian club sandwich (with real cheese and mayo instead of vegan cheese/mayo), with fries that have that yummy Cajun (? I think) seasoning. Their strawberry lemonade is delicious too.

Service has always been fairly good when I've come here, and I've been here when it's super busy and slow at different times of the day. Servers can be kind of inattentive though, depending. It seems like the actual waitress won't ever refill my water, but occasionally the bus boys will. I'm pretty sure here the waiters are supposed to refill my water, and they rarely do unless asked. It's a nitpicky point, and it really doesn't bother me that much.

I don't really like their desserts though. Their cupcakes are way too dense and heavy, and eating one of their cupcakes feels like biting into soft brick. They also have way too much frosting. Same goes for the cakes.

I would give 3.5 stars, but Yelp doesn't do half-stars.

I recently was on some very heavy medication after a surgery and gave my server here the biggest tip ever.
    Major Mistake.
    Can't get that one back.

    The food is ok.
    They have everything.
The desserts are probably the way to go.
Lots of shake flavors and other decadents.

One of my favorite diner spots in the area for a quick breakfast or lunch.  Not much of a hassle and haven't really ever faced a long wait for a table.  Lunch and breakfast menu are extensive and impressively cheap.  They have numerous vegan and vegetarian options (for those concerned).   Great service.  Always rich and enjoyable.

    3.5 stars, for now...

Been only once for lunch. Used to be an old style diner but now still a diner with eclectic and funky decor. Lots of vegetarian/vegan options including desserts but make sure you ask. I will go back to try other items on the menu.

Brite Spot gets 5 stars from me not because they are the most amazing restaurant or experience, but because as an ordinary diner type restaurant they manage to always get my breakfast right. I'm somewhat of a creature of habit and if I like something, I'll keep doing it. Coffee Table used to be my go-to breakfast spot but it got completely inconsistent and they always managed to mess up a request for over-medium eggs-either they were overcooked or still very runny.

Here's 10 reasons Brite Spot is better than my last breakfast haunt:

    1. They always get my eggs right!
    2. Good jukebox/music
    3. Friendlier staff who remembers my regular order
    4. Lots of substitution options, e.g., turkey sausage instead of pork, or many different side options, many at no extra cost
    5. As a failed vegetarian I can appreciate the wide array of veggie and vegan options you wouldn't normally find at a diner
    6. Brewed ice coffee - not coffee poured over ice - makes a huge difference
    7. Waffles - light and crispy, and they even serve it with clarified butter
    8. Easy parking - yes their lot is small, but there's plenty of street parking and I've never had to drive around to park.
    9. Breakfast served all day
    10. The vibe is right - it's a smart blend of old school with just the right touches of new school.

    I hope it never changes!

I used to enjoy my meals at this location, but it's lost it appeal and chic uniqueness.  It's an aged diner that needs help. The last meal that I had there will probably prevent me from ever returning.  There are plenty of other diners to choose from in Los Angeles.

This Facebook Foodie is not please.

It was as cold as a refrigerator on a Sunday morning.  Luckily, the waitress addressed that problem and turned off the AC.  It wasn't busy and the hipsters running the place seem a little slow, perhaps from their Saturday adventures the night before.

My order my simple: Classic Eggs Benedict.  Standard dish at an established diner right?

Two major flaws with the dish:

    1)  Eggs Benedict is all about the hollandaise sauce, which was nauseating.  I had to scrap the imbalanced "lemon-curd" off the blanched eggs, English muffin and Canadian bacon to continue to eat the dish.  Too much lemon acid showed in the separating texture of the sauce.  Definitely not good eats.

    2) Fresh Fruit should be FRESH and EDIBLE.  Strawberries were sour.  Correct me if I'm wrong: Cantaloupe and Honey Dew MELON RIND are not edible, right? Then why would it be served as part of the side to complement the entree?

Furthermore, the MELON RIND was moldy. not pleasant.  i repeat, not pleasant.

I love my food and visit lots of places.  I will freely express my delight for good food. I'm not a complainer,  but I expect my food to be edible especially if I pay over 10+ for my dish.
