A good 25 yard outdoor pool for lap swimming.  The water quality is good, although sometimes the bottom of the pool could be cleaner.  The pool does not have any gutters, so the side lanes can be a little wavey.
The water temperature seems a little cooler than some of the other pools in the area, but is fine once you get going.  In the mornings if you don't like cold water don't take the second lane from the left - there is a water return outlet in the lane at the deep end of the pool that seems to come on in the mornings and pumps cooler water into the lane.  Some people actually like it (probably the same people that swim in the bay without a wetsuit).
In the morning you can normally get your own lane.
The lockers etc are fine, bring your own lock if you want to lock up your gear while you are swimming.
They seem to have the occasional problem with staffing, and sometimes have to change the swim schedule due to a lack of staff.

I have swum at four pools in the northern peninsular area - Brisbane, Burlingame, SSF (Orange) and PJCC (Foster City).  Here are my thoughts on the others.

Burlingame - 5/5
http://www.burlingame....
A great outdoor pool for lap swimming - the pool is deep with good gutters and baffles. The water always seems really crisp.  The pool is 50m by 25 yards.  It is normally arranged width-ways (i.e. 25 yard lanes), although on Sundays and Monday mornings they have long course (50m lanes).
When the pool is set up short course I normally get my own lane. For long course it is normally split or circle. For both short and long course the lanes are nice and wide and there is plenty of room to split a lane.
The only downside of the pool is that the changing room area is a little cramped, particularly if you get there when the masters team is starting or finishing.  Bring your own lock if you want to lock up your gear while you are swimming.
Also check the schedule before you go - there is not morning lap swim every day, the pool is sometimes closed for school swim meets, and is closed on more holidays than other pools.

South San Francisco (Orange pool) - 3/5
An OK indoor 25 yard pool, but it is a shallow pool with no gutters and feeble baffles so the water is a little rough.
I haven't swam here for a while as I prefer the nicer outdoor pools in Brisbane or Burlingame

Pools at PJCC Foster City - 5/5
http://www.pjcc.org/he...
A 25 yard indoor pool, a 25 yard outdoor pool plus a whirlpool spa and kiddie pool thrown in.  The pools are part of the PJCC complex which also has a full gym, exercise equipment, cardio machines etc.
The outdoor pool has good water quality (although sometimes not as good on a Sunday morning after a warm Saturday in the summer).  The outdoor pool has reasonable gutters and baffles so the lanes are normally pretty calm. You can normally have your own lane.
The best thing about the PJCC outdoor pool is the hours - there is lap swimming any time the center is open (5am-10pm weekdays, 7am-8pm weekends).   Keep an eye out for Jewish holidays though - the center is closed for some of the Jewish holidays.
The locker room is really nice - towel service is included.
The indoor pool is pretty heavily treated (they have a lot of kids on the pool etc) and also quite warm for lap swimmers.  There are normally two lanes available for lap swimming, but check the schedule for swim lessons and water aerobics classes.

A relatively new outdoor pool that's great for families! It's heated to about 80 degrees, which is a comfort to those of us who don't deal with hypothermia too well. This place is unexpectedly clean, especially for a public pool.

The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I trust that all of the lifeguards are able to handle any emergency situations, especially because they use the daily 20 minute rest break to practice rescues and first aid skills.

If you didn't want strangers invading your hidden gem, then ya shouldn't have put it on blast on Yelp! This place IS pretty cool though. Clean facility and friendly staff.

This is a great place to throw a pool party. You can rent the entire facility out and you get a HUGE area with plenty of picnic tables under a gazebo. The only downside is that there is a 40 person capacity which sucks if you have a big family and a lot of friends.

My brothers also took swimming lessons here and, well, they know how to swim now. Thanks BCP!

I shouldn't yelp about this secret, but I just have to.  Guess what I have been doing 2-3 days a week during lunch in this cold foggy town?

SWIMMING OUTSIDE.

Wait, i know you don't believe me, but there is a community heated pool in Brisbane that is open all year round and has swimming lanes exclusively for adults at lunchtime.  This is a goldmine.

That's it.  Go about your business.  No more questions

This pool is very nice, and the water (showers too?) are partially (or fully?) heated by solar power.  It's very clean and the staff is friendly.

It would get 5 stars, but it gets really crowded sometimes.

... which is, I suppose, why the previous poster is angry, but I have noticed that there is a certain amount of xenophobia in Brisbane.  It's like all the Republicans fled SF in 1969 and settled here...  but the pool is still worth it, especially on Mondays or over the winter when the Mission pool is closed.

This is our family's absolute FAVORITE pastime during the warmer months.  Pack a picnic lunch & blanket, bring some diving toys- and you are set for the day!

The pool is staffed by a super friendly, attentive crew.  The facilities are squeaky clean.

The 1st reviewer was right- you almost do not want to tell anyone about this piece of paradise!  Now...shhhhhh!
