I had the pleasure of living in Greenwich Village in New York for seven months during its last age of innocence (the mid-1990s). Once or twice a week I used to get out early and head down Broadway to Brisas Del Caribe for breakfast -- sausages, black beans and rice. MMM! Delicious peasant food. Perhaps not the place to go if you don't like sitting with strangers, but I loved it.

GONE!!!  This was the only great affordable place to eat in Soho near Broadway.

Good, hot Carribbean food.  Small, but there is room to sit and they have a public bathroom in the back ;)  Simple, yummy food.
