2 reviews for Bridgewater Marriott
Maybe Erik's experience was a one-off but I had a great stay at the Bridgewater. Though the concierge did offer me a double bed room, when I realized this, they changed my reservation back to a single king. The rooms were clean and had Flat screen tvs.
Am a fan. Would recommend if here for business
Seriously what is wrong with this place?!?!?! I should have stayed at the third world motel with broken lights and a vibrating bed! I came here for business, i had a class i was taking for the state it was very important i got sleep. SO i reserved a room for 1 with a king sized bed AWAY from the elevator (i'll explain later), and extra pillows (bad back).
SOOO.... i drove up, great location, right near the mall, across from a chipotle, near where the class was. Nice exterior, very nice lobby... i was impressed and had a smile. I walked up to the counter... and that's where it all ended.
I received a reply of "Ok sir i have your room with 2 double beds ready for you." To which i replied.... That's not my room... being raised by cheap Italian grandparents and a neurotic mother... i had the reservation in my hand to shove it in her face.
She replied "Oh well the room is big and the beds are too! And we have a wedding party and are completely booked!"
#1 HOW THE HELL IS A DOUBLE BED BIGGER THEN A DOUBLE BED? The size is STANDARD!
#2 I DON'T GIVE A CRAP THAT THE PLACE WAS BOOKED... they should have never listed the room requested as available.... AND never try to trick the customer... APPOLOGIZE (it gets better) . Then the special was a free$25 gift card with booking and using a visa. I gave her my bank card, she said oh they're gunna freeze your account... I DIDN'T CARE cause i could just call if i needed the card or use another accoutn on a different card. SHE REFUSED TO TAKE MY VISA for my security. That took that deal out...So i said fine what ever took my key... refrained from walking out and went to the elevator.
Went to the 6th floor... brushed the whole thing off... whatever everything happends for a reason... blah blah blah..... As i mentioned earlier i request a room away from the elevator... you know why? The ice machine is there, the vending machines are there... tons of people walk by, you hear the "ding ding" from the elevator. I'm a light sleeper in hotels (damn Alfred Hitchcock and Psycho). So these things wake me up.... so where was my room. NOT ONLY RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE ELEVATOR... BUT MY ROOM DOOR LINED UP TO THE ICE MACHINE.
WTF!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I was pissed now, walk in the room... no extra pillows... i looked at my reservation about 10 times checking to make sure i was a mistake... but no this place is just ran by local high school F*** ups who still get drunk and go cow tipping (and they're now 45). So... i get unpacked...there is no view just of 287 and the mall (it's new jersey so that's pretty much every view). I was beat... pissed off... took a shower... went to lay down in bed... bedding was amazing...thought well the hotel IS NICE maybe it's sound buffered or something.....
NOPE! paper thin walls.... that F&%$*! ICE MACHINE WAS SO FRIGGEN NOISEY IT WAS UNBEARABLE!!! AND TO MAKE IT BETTER I HEARD THE NEIGHBORS BANGIN on and off all day and night (kinky bastards). I got in my car... realized i had a chipotle across the street and decided it was 8:00 i'm gunna go to the liquor store... get some wine, get some chipotle and get drunk and go to sleep.... i bring it all back to my room (bottle of wine and food) and decide to order cheese cake from room service after i ate (around 950). The cheese cake looked GREAT.... very classy... and was from the restaraunt on site. I bite into it it taste like garlic and fish... I lost my temper threw some things across the room, spun my head 360 degrees and flipped the light switch on and off.. I WAS PISSED... went online to the review site on the receipt and bashed the hotel in my drunken stupor. Well i fell asleep finally woke up a couple times... realized it was the ice machine crashing and gurgling and just put a pillow over my ears. Woke up went to class.
Return to my room and find my phone blinking. It was the assistant manager to the hotel wanting to speak to me about my cheese cake. These people really have balls i give them that..... I call him back, he can't talk..... CALL HIM 3 TIMES he finally picks up... and puts me on speaker phone with him and the chef.... well this put me over the edge... the asshole was dodging my comments about the hotel... and staying on the cheese cake. I finally placed it bluntly why the taste was concern.... Cross contamination... #1 cause of food poisoning. 2nd night i had a friend stay over due to the 2nd bed... went to Morristown (only 20 mins away).. Tried to sleep again for day two of class... he had work... he ended up waking up over and over... i should have just unplugged the machine.
My point is.... i have never written a review this mean. But this place is a white trash motel in a nice shell (like those bath tub fitters) BECAREFULL WHEN BOOKING! High cost... I receive NO apology, or credit ... FYI there is a GREAT Days inn up the road from what i hear. They even include breakfast and the correct reservation!
