Warning, this place will kick you in the balls over and over again. Talk about a brutally tough golf course! Most really tough courses are kinda BS (like Eagle Ridge and The Ranch), but the Bridges did a great job of keeping the integrity of a classic style golf course. Lots of ups and downs, it is very hilly. It is also pretty tight, and if you miss the fairway, your ball may very well be gone. I liked it a lot.
The Club House is gorgeous, overlooking the course and the big homes in the area. I would imagine it would be awesome for a wedding.
Overall, a badass course and I can't wait to come back now that I have learned from my rookie mistakes. As I stated earlier, the best of the "uber-difficult" golf courses in the area.

They have the best driving range and putting green. The mats are nice and they always have tees. There are flags that mark different distances and the yardages are actually labelled near every couple of mats so you don't have to walk around like an idiot looking for it. I think it's open til 8pm except on Mondays it's only 5pm or so.
I haven't played the course yet but I heard (and can see) that it's beautiful and narrow so you should bring extra balls. I also heard that they may have recently reduced prices so I hope to go soon!
For the love of God, management, please put more drinking water out on this course. I know you want profit margins from the drink cart girl but have some common sense. it was 90-degrees today and will only get hotter the next few months. Water pressure from little public fountains sucks.
I still love the course and now that I have played it 5 or 6 times I appreciate it a bit more. Great conditions, you just really have to execute or the snowmen appear. The last three holes are deadly....If you like flat and easy lies this course is not for you. It does take a ton of course knowledge.

Facility wise, it is probably the most beautiful golf course in the SF metro area. It is saturated in the picture like environment with rows of million dollars homes on the top of those California hills. The course is well designed with both pros and armatures in mind. I really enjoy to spend a day here and appreciate its surroundings.

This review is for the Golf Club Restaurant.
Our department came here earlier this week to recognize and celebrate Administrative Professionals Day (a total Hallmark holiday). A group of 18 came and we had a limited menu to choose from.
First lets start with the service. Our waiter was nice but he was also very curt, as if we were troubling him because we were a large group. His attitude was not bad but it was not great either (maybe he knew he would automatically be tipped 19%).
The food was good but it was not anything special. I personally had the chicken pesto sandwich on cibatta bread with fries.
Aside from the great view there really wasn't anything that stood out for me and would make me want to come back.
I considered the Bridges as a possible wedding location for my wedding but I'm SOOO glad that I decided to go with Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery instead.

Its much more elegant and their service was provided with a smile...unlike at the Bridges restaurant.

One of the most difficult things during the early stages of wedding planning is location. Being a lifetime resident of the Bay Area, I had always imagined myself having my wedding reception in a swanky SF hotel, or in a quaint Napa vineyard with French Laundry in the backdrop. But being half way through a graduate program, having a large guest list, and hopes to full-fill the dream of going to our dream honeymoon destination - all leading to a nominal budget, that was not going to happen. Luckily, that's when my now-husband found the Bridges.
I have to say by looking back, if I actually went along with what I would've considered my dream wedding reception location, my dream wedding would not have been the same.
Wedding planning was a breeze working with Alicia Baker. From the first time I worked with her, up until the wedding day, I found her promptness answering my emails with god-only-knows how many questions I asked her, very comforting and reassuring. Alicia also has a very good rapport with many vendors in the local area, which made renting outside items very smooth.
All of my guests had nothing but praise for the service, location, food, drinks and set up of the pavilion. Initially I was sceptical about the comfortability of having close to 300 guests, but it turned out to be perfect.
My hubby and I had our dream wedding at the Bridges Nov of 2008 and I would not hesitate to do it there again. I had nothing but a wonderful, positive experience, as did our guests. If you have any questions, you can personally message me.

I think this course is so deceiving and anyone who really enjoys golf will not like this place. For one, the course conditions are generally average, but more importantly the tee shots required here are so extremely difficult and there are way too many blind shots. You need a caddy or a ball spotter because there is no way you can play this course and not lose 12 balls by the 11th hole.
Now the golf views are great but this needs to be redesigned.

i've been to the bridges golf club restaurant a few times before, and i always enjoyed my experience. however, this morning i came in for brunch and i was pretty disappointed. it was almost 10 o'clock but there were not many customers. i asked if we could sit outside and we were the only ones out there. the tables were not set up and there was a tray full of dirty plates and half-drinken cocktail glasses sitting next to our table. they obviously hadn't finished cleaning up from the late night before.
we ordered the crab and asparagus omelet and the french toast, but what we got was crab asparagus omelet and pancakes. whatever, i took it because the pancakes looked pretty good. however, pretty expensive. $7.50 for 2 small pancakes and a berry compote (perhaps 5 blackberries and 1 cut-up strawberry). we also got the crab and asparagus omelet which was nice and hearty...pretty good actually. the dish came with a side of potatoes. good flavor but pretty mushy. i prefer my breakfast potatoes to be soft on the inside and crispy on the outside.
overall, i'm not so impressed this time around. the best part was the view.

I came here for a wedding over the weekend and granted this wedding was open bar (which I fully utilized) so my perspective might be a little skewed.
For the ceremony itself my friend who was getting married lucked out on the weather as while the skies were cloudy there wasn't a rain drop to be felt during the ceremony. The view was definitely nice although I personally didn't care for seeing all those box homes framing the golf course.
As for the reception, being only a guest I can say that everything seemed to go smoothly and all of the appetizers we sampled were pretty darn tasty. By the time our meals were served I was errrr slightly intoxicated, but I ate my food with no complaints!
A good time was had with my boyfriend and an even better time being with old friends :)

I've been here for work lunches and a wedding. Each visit consisted of average food. For lunch, I ordered a wrap sandwich and the chicken was bland as can be and my fries were cold. There was also a dump of parsley as if this supposed artful touch was going to make it look/taste better. Sadly, the wedding food was just the same. The pasta tasted like it was something from Chef Boyardee. Then there's the waitstaff who were slow to refill the serving trays even though half of the guests had yet to get in the buffet queue. Instead they found it more important to chat with each other and tend to their own beverages!
Hey Jaime P.!!!! ;-)
Anyway, I was the friend getting married that Yelp user, Jaime P., was talking about. :-D I really liked the place for my wedding ceremony and reception. Alicia was very good about getting back to me quickly and was very accommodating when my fiancee and I would show up without an appointment. Also, they NEVER were irritated when we were a day or two late for payments. You get so caught up on other wedding payments and things that it slips your mind. The course and Club House were beautiful! We lucked out that it didn't rain so having it outside looking over the course was stunning!
The food was very good considering that usually wedding food isn't all that great. Actually, everyone really liked the entrees and appetizers. The staff are very friendly and very attentive. The waiters didn't "roll their eyes" or "sigh" when guests accidentally got in the way like they do at other wedding venues I've been to (i.e. Nestle Down in Santa Cruz).
My only complaint was the table set up in the Clubhouse/Fireside Room. You have two tables on either side that have their view completely blocked by two doors in the middle of room. If you see it, you'll know what I mean. So, the guests sitting there couldn't see the bridal party up front during speeches. They had to stand up and walk around it. But that's about it.
As far as everyone else here on Yelp criticizing the staff I'll admit that sometimes Julie was very abrupt and short with us but she did give us a discount without us asking on the ceremony fee and chairs. The new girl, Jacklyn, was okay. If anything, I think she just needs to relax and not stress out too much. My guests noticed her being a little like a worry wart the whole time but she did efficiently move the reception along. I LOVED Alicia, though. I really have no complaints about her. She smiled and always warmly greeted us. I can't really say that about Julie or Jacklyn, unfortunately. :-(
Overall, my guests and I Iove the place and everyone thought it was beautiful! We go there for breakfast too and it is GOOD!!!
I highly recommend this place to any bride planning her wedding. I don't understand why there are negative reviews about this place. I had a very positive experience with The Bridges Golf Club from the moment I checked out the place until the day of our wedding.
Not only was the venue beautiful, but the staff was awesome. Julie Martinez, the event coordinator, was amazing. I emailed her probably over 20 times prior to the wedding...asking questions, making requests, etc...she is very knowledgeable and was always very helpful throughout the entire process! Not only did everything turn out beautiful, but the food was great (we received tons of compliments on the food). The portions were larger that we expected and very tasty (it's hard to find good wedding food considering it is mass produced). They even made special arrangements for those who had allergies.
On the day of the wedding, the staff made every effort to make sure the bridal party was doing well, always providing us with drinks to keep us hydrated and setting aside hors 'douvres for us after the ceremony. Our waiter, An, who was awesome, even told my husband and I if our meals got cold that they would bring us new hot entrees. What more can you ask for? We got along so well with An that he asked to take a picture with my husband and I at the end of the night.
I would DEFINITELY recommend this place. I am very particular and hard to please, but I was definitely pleased with The Bridges Golf Club. The venue is beautiful and you can't ask for a better staff to make your special day the fairy tale wedding you've always dreamed of!

Amazing view (golf course) and cozy little dining room. But the food is so inconsistent and the service is never better than fair. I think they rely on starving golfers who don't want to drive someplace else just to grab a bite. So they provide decent tasting fare and make a few bucks catering to the "starving golfer."
We once had a waitress who brilliantly left the bill on top of our table with NO jacket, then when the wind picked up, the bill was blown deep into the golf course. She joked that she would have to go chase it, but then 30 seconds later we see this waitress running around the golf course chasing the bill. HYSTERICAL. Then she comes back and we ask her why in the world she didn't just print out another copy... she anwers by saying their system only allows a single printout. And she's clearly mad. Like it's our fault that she places a 0.00000001 ounce document in 60 mile an hour winds.
Oh, sorry for the long story: the salads are good, the sandwiches are decent and the risotto is dry. Only eat here if you're golfing here.

Really depends on what time of year you play here. During the winter months this place is really not worth playing. It's so soggy, and drains really poorly. It probably wasn't the ideal place to build a course on in the first place. But with housing community projects they were probably somewhat limited on space.
I've played here five times, and never had to pay a green fee (sorry not telling) and that is the reason worth coming here. Fairways and bunkers are always under construction, and rarely will you find a flat lie in the fairway. Two fun holes are 15 and 17, 15 being a very short par 3 that crosses over a large ravine. 17 is difficult par 5 that requires three precise shots over a meandering creek.
An ok course at best, for the same price try Wente Vineyards GC close by, a real gem!

GOLF: Punishing course for errant shots. There is no rough; you're either in the fairway or in the ravine. Brings lots of ammo. Generally in good shape and pace of play is good, notwithstanding the relative lack of marshals. Green fees are high enough to keep out the wife-beater, cut-off-short-wearing hackers. The drink cart girl doesn't come frequently enough on hot days (100 degrees out, and you only make it around to us twice?!).
RESTAURANT: Consistently inconsistent, and on a better day, it's just a notch above edible. Processed, slippery meats on sandwiches (despite advertising as "roasted turkey"). Yea, maybe it was roasted a month ago, before it went into a grinder and was co-mingled with the requisite slime and preservatives. Salads can be OK, but also hit or miss. The grilled chicken with cranberries and candied walnuts is nice and crispy one time, and the next the chicken is dry as dirt, and the candied walnuts soft, chewy and stuck together after sweating for weeks at the bottom of the jar. Blecch.
The view's great and the service is usually pretty good. I'd not go here as a destination but wouldn't be afraid if I were already in the vicinity; just don't get your hopes up.

To describe this course as tough is an understatement. Lots of hills and very unforgiving landscape. But having said that, it is a motivation for me to improve on my game. Definitely not a place for beginners and prepare to lose a significant number of balls in the ravines and shrubs. :)
I haven't seen any marshalls today and the pace is generally fine. The pictures from their website showing a lot of flowers aren't true now. Mainly all green but the view is pretty nice.
Will definitely come back here again after I have improved my game.

This was my first choice for a reception site when my fiance and i were going to be getting married in our hometown area. so when they told me my date wasn't available over a year in advance i was willing to change it.
i went to meet with the wedding planner Alicia and she showed me around the green and then in the reception room. as we walked in it smelled really badly of manner and i couldn't imagine greeting my guests in this. the room was kinda rustic and had two potted palm trees.
for the most part i was OK with everything aside from the palm trees. i HATE plants. so when i asked her if she could arrange to have them moved outside during our reception she said she'd look into it. three days later i still hadn't heard from her so i called back. our conversation went something like this..
me: hi i hadn't heard back from you so i was wondering if you found out about the plants?
her: i asked around and we all agree that it's a pretty ridiculous request.
me: well for the amount of money I'd be giving to you i think it's pretty reasonable of me to ask so if this is any indication of your service then I'll be taking that money somewhere else.
i hung up on her and I've since told everyone who wants to hear how rude she was to me. i have no idea why she thought it was acceptable to talk to anyone like that and honestly I'm willing to pay the much larger price to have my wedding in San Francisco a the Ritz Carlton because I've gotten far superior service there.

The golf course is beautiful with a lot of carries and plenty of challenges. Putting greens are a slow but well maintained.
However, I'm writing this review for the wedding location. I'll have to agree with the other review that both Alicia and Julie are not very helpful and don't appear to care for the business. When we first arrived and were looking into the wedding coordinators offices we were ignored. When we approached the help desk (20 feet away and with an unobstructed view of the offices) and asked for help, did the person standing in front of the counter watching us this whole time finally speak up and introduce herself. We also attempted to contact the wedding coordinators with questions on making schedule accommodations and didn't hear back for three weeks.
While we both thought the views were the best in the area we felt that we were not willing to compromise with the service. After all, this is going to be a special day and one that does not need to be hindered or drawn down with poor quality of service or lack of responsiveness to ones needs. We've decided to go with the Palm Event Center as we've been blown away with how well Clay and the entire staff have treated us thus far.

Went to the driving range here once. It's so pretty with all the hills.
I've also been to four company Christmas parties in the Garden Pavilion. It's quite an impressive space with the high wooden beams, giant Christmas tree, and 200 or so people. Usually we had buffet style, but one time was a sit down. All the times I thought the food was only average, and not up to par with the beautiful surroundings. I have no idea how much this venue cost, but I'm fairly confident it's overpriced.

I work with a vendor that performs services for events and weddings. We see a lot of locations all year. Recently we worked at this location for a wedding.
The coordination staff and service staff work seamlessly together, and the service is very good.
Even in the middle of summer, the ceremony site was spacious with a picturesque view.
The building's exterior architecture and interior design is very elegant and photogenic. The furniture and decor is kept up well, and the set up makes foot traffic flow very well.
The food is typical wedding fare, with average size portions. The bar is well stocked, and has knowledgeable staff.
If you are looking for a view, service and general beauty of a location, this is a good start.

Tough, tough golf course. Greens are a little on the slow side, but pace of play is better than most courses in the area (4:30 or 4:45) despite the fact that most groups lose a lot of balls.
If you're more than a 15-handicap, I doubt you'll have much fun here, but for scratch golfers like myself, it's a good test if you care at all for target golf. The back "twelve" is significantly easier than the front "six."

This review applies to the restaurant only.
Came here for lunch with the co-workers on a Friday afternoon; it wasn't terribly busy, and we are definitely not slow eaters, but the entire lunch TOOK AN HOUR AND A HALF. My God, this place has some of the slowest service I've ever been given.
The girl who served us was nice enough, if a little bit....hmm, absent-minded comes to mind but isn't the exact word. Distracted, maybe? Although I can't imagine by what.
The food was okay; I guess you're paying for ambiance, which is fine, I suppose. Had the lobster ravioli, which was uninspiring, especially for $14.50, but I guess if you're going to be eating at a golf-course restaurant, it's a bit par-for-the-course (see what I did there? har har haryeahrightwhatever.)
Tried some of the prime rib something or other burger, which was WAY too sweet and heavy-handed on the sauce, and the salad was doused with too much dressing. Fries were also uninspiring, although the little ketchup bottles were adorable (My God, am I actually commenting on the ketchup bottles? Interpret as you will.).
Was a little disappointed that several items on the online menu had been replaced when we arrived.
Verdict: Meh. Everything looked like it came out of a wannabe-high-end frozen-dinner-bag.

for all of you that are on a low sodium diet, do not read this review because it's gonna be S A L T Y!
my fiance and i recently entertained the idea of having our wedding reception at the bridges golf course, and for good reason. it's a beautiful looking course, and the ballroom provides a phenomenal view of the rolling fairways and beautiful homes from its huge bay windows. but upon speaking with the sales manager we quickly started abandoning that idea. you'll understand what i mean if you read the other reviews on yelp.
it says something when most of the reviews regarding weddings here are subpar, and generally have been by people who considered the venue but opted for something far better. where are all the reviews of people who actually went through with it? quietly regretting their decision? must be, because their voice sure isn't heard here. and if you've looked at yelp reviews of other venues in the area, you'll see that there are some pretty emphatic and satisfied couples.
that preface aside though, my experience with the sales manager julie martinez drove me absolutely up the wall. she was unresponsive to our questions and requests, was not willing to negotiate one bit, and made exceptions to the rules for people that she felt were more important than us. what do i mean by that? she held a date for someone for more than 3 weeks, which doesn't follow their policy, for someone who hadn't even seen the place. meanwhile, we were ready to hand over the money and sign the contract but had to wait (and boy am i glad we did). i understand that, especially if i was in her shoes and i had a friend who wanted the date. but you know what, don't tell another client that the date is on courtesy hold and may become available. just take it off the availability list and deal with it later if the other party falls through, instead of misleading others while trying to protect yourself.
another thing about bridges that is more a problem about the venue itself, is how much they nickel and dime you for every little thing. you want wine and drinks poured at your table? $100/hour per waiter, otherwise, go to the bar. i'm sorry but for a classy meal, i would think that getting wine poured at your table should just be assumed. want to serve non-alcoholic drinks at a bar? sure thing, but you have to pay us $300 to setup the bar. i don't mind paying for a bartender, but a bar setup fee? want chairs at your ceremony? $2 each, on top of the $1000 rental fee.
we took our business to blackhawk country club and are MUCH, MUCH happier. kristin famosi at the club is an absolute pleasure to work with and is so professional, reasonable, and flexible. we're getting a lot more for our money there. the level of service we've received thus far has been on par with places like ruby hill country club and palm events center, both of which get awesome reviews on yelp as well but they're just a bit too expensive for us.
my advice, take your business elsewhere or get some references that can convince you otherwise. good luck!!

here's the thing
unless you're freakin amazing and you know EXACTLY where you're ball's going..... i wouldn't really recommend this place
the deal with this place is, not only are you fighting your club and the ball, you're fighting the course too
majority of the course is away from the cart path, and you can't take your cart onto the course for the majority of it!!!
WTF is that ??!?!? last time i checked golf was for old geezers, who don't wanna walk!! and the hills are rediculous!
there are soo many hills in the damn place, that even if you've gotten it on the fairway, it might end up in the "native" area about 100 feet off the course

Really difficult course in desperate need of a full time marshal. This course has very tight landing areas that penalize you heavily when you miss with an abundance of scrub. Making matters more challenging are greens that are very fast, and undulating. Our round took over five hours to complete and our first cart broke down on the third hole. Overall I found the course to be best suited for very low handicapped golfers, otherwise it's just frustrating all the way around.

Amazing golf course. Very well kept and was not busy on a friday morning. This was an extremely difficult course, the front being more of a challenge. The greens were true but brutal. I'm a 23 handi but shot well over on my first attempt. This is a great course for those who want a challenge.
If you are into golf and want a challenging golf course....here is a place to play...the course is absolutely beautiful and be prepared for some of HILLS..= P
Heard that the restaurant's new chef is not bad, so we had lunch here last week. Yep, the rumors are true. The grilled chicken pasta came out real tasty and not too heavy. Twelve bucks for a good meal with a nice view of the golf course.
Great for breakfast although the lunch is a little slow. The atmosphere and the food are great.
To future brides & Grooms, Don't bother having your dream wedding at this place!
Let me just start off by saying that the customer service from both Alicia & Julie were awful. The overall feeling that I got was that they don't care for my business. The first time I met with Alicia, she failed to greet my finance & I. She pretty much just sat there & did not even bother getting up to meet with us. Despite this bad initial impression, I have to say that we both really like the feel & look of the entire clubhouse. So, I thought to myself that maybe it was just me being too sensitive to Alicia's indifference/snobbish attitude. I was willing to overlook this.
After the initial visit,I called Alicia back to ask some questions & I got Julie. I scheduled appointment to meet with her & to go over the details. To my surprise, I got the similar greeting that I got from Alicia as well. She pretty much just sat there & eyed me up & down. There was no warmth in her greeting. I felt as if I was intruding her time even though I made an appointment with her. She gave me a quick information session & I felt rushed through out the session. I asked her to look into the possibility of having the reception dinner 30 minutes earlier than their set time & she said that she will get back to me on that.
I waited for Julie to get back to me & a week went by without any response. So, I called Julie & got Alicia. She said that she will look into that. A week and half later, I still have not heard back from Alicia nor Julie. So, my fiance & I went into the The Bridges to see if we can get our question answered. So, when we arrived to Julie/Alicia's office, no one was in the office. Then when I turned around, I saw Julie standing at the golf register counter watching us as we peered into her office. Obviously, anyone can tell that we needed help. But Julie just stood there at the counter and kept on looking at us without any smiles as we approached her. She did not even recognize me & just stood there until we arrived at the counter. I asked her the question & she looked really reluctant to help us. She then said that Alicia has already sent out an email to me, but I informed her otherwise. She then went to her office to check the email & she could not find any email being sent to me. But she did not even bother apologizing for this delay & she just stated that it's impossible for them to start 30 minutes early & that we would need to pay $1500 more to have an cocktail hour before the reception dinner. I don't mind the extra cost, but it's her overall attitude that I don't appreciate. On the initial visit, she made it sound like it's pretty possible for me to have the reception 30 minute early, but it was really the delay in the response time in getting back to me that irritated me.
I have to say that The bridges was really a #1 choice for me because of the views & location, where it's 15 minutes away from our home. I would have chose them if they had better customer service. It's really their loss. Because of this hesitation, I looked elsewhere & found Palms Event Center. Clay, the catering director was so friendly & I have decided to go with them.

the brunch here is good. nice option to bring out of town guests or for family gatherings (they'll like the view). the menu isn't particularly exciting but its not bad either. the seafood omelet was yummy - chunks of shrimp & crab. i'll have to go back and try their lunch & dinner.
