Am I really just finding this place now?  Been living in Brighton Center for 2 1/2 years and I JUST discovered this little place.  It's kinda hidden but shouldn't be!

I think I found my new go-to place for pizza :)

Although I have only ever had Brickhouse delivered, so far I have been more than impressed with their pizzas.  I love that it is a restaurant style pizza(fresh veggies and not very greasy).  They are also very prompt with their delivery and have extremely reasonable prices.

So far I have tried the garden veggie, mediterranean, and margarita pizzas - and have loved all of them.

    Very impressed.  Thank you Brickhouse.

I stumbled upon Brickhouse one day when I was fighting a massive hangover. Wow was I surprised- truly a hidden gem! The steak-tips are great and so are most of the subs. I haven't tried the pizza yet, but have heard good stuff about it. What really stood out though was the service. The staff is very friendly and are always striking up conversation with you, which you will not find at Little Pizza King. Definitely recommend this place.

Amazing food. Their Philly's are thick, flavorful, and plentiful.  And lets talk about the pizza, HOLY CRAP!  I've tried pizza all over Boston, and this is by far one of my top 2 places to go!  Big slices with tons of flavor!  Nice little joint that's very friendly and fast.

my son is at a nearby hospital, as in around the corner and he wanted pizza! So i searched yelp and found Brickhouse. We just got a cheese pizza but it was really good! The guys who work there are really friendly and I would go back again.

Aside from Bertuccis  its hard to find a good pizza near home...to bad I live so far away from this Brickhouse!

Brickhouse offers decent meals for a reasonable price.  The pizza specials that they prepare around lunch time are yummy, and they tend to sell out really fast.  The chicken and veggie pita wraps are good too, as are the french fries.

If you're a little more healthy-eating inclined, they also prepare a nice garden salsa (order it with non-fat dressing, like the balsamic).  Or if you're not so healthily inclined, they also serve some yummy ice cream and frozen yogurt; my favorite yogurt flavors are the Purple Cow and Chocolate Almond.  They also have chocolate chip cookies.

    The staff is really friendly.

Went here quite a bit during the year I lived in Brighton. I never tried the pizza, mainly because I'm a fan of thicker crust, but I had several of the grinders and they were all great. Not a lot of room to eat inside but it works to grab some food on the go. Pricier than Subway but it's better quality - the meatball sub in particular was outstanding.

This review has been way too long and coming. I'm sorry.

I practically lived off their food for a whole year.

I wasn't the biggest fan of their pizza (too thin of a crust for me) but their sandwiches were AMAZING. They are high quality and at a very fair price. Their portions are be very big. I would get a large sub for dinner and only eat half, saving the other half for lunch the next day.

I would have to highly recommend the stockyard. It has a bar b que sauce and potato salad and roast beef. Again, the portions are very generous.

I also have to mention the staff. VERY VERY friendly and are always willing to strike up a conversation. Food is a big thing to me but so is hospitality. There is no reason to be rude. Every person there is very respectable and kind.

I'm sad that I had to move, but whenever I'm in that area I make sure to stop by for bite to eat!

I'm afraid they'll hate me for saying this, but asking for the fries extra crispy.... yummmmmmmmy. :)

Yes the pizza was good. But not "the best". I got a buffalo chicken pizza.

Thin crust, red sauce, breaded chicken fingers, mozzarella and ricotta cheese, and LOTS of buffalo sauce.

I didnt like the addition of ricotta and I thought the chicken pieces were too large.  But overall the flavor was good.

    Overall solid pizza.

Nom Brickhouse. You are totally awesome.

When I lived in Brookline, you would not deliver. I moved to Brighton partly because I knew I could order you again and you would deliver!

I have eaten everything from sandwich to wraps to pizza. All delicious and never has let me down.

They deliver way faster than most places in this area as well. Ordering process is magical. 1) Call 2) Verify your name 3) Place order and they keep your credit card on file. Almost as good as ordering online!

I just can't say enough positive things about this place! Their pizza is so delicious, every combination is a winner.  I've been hooked on their pepperoni and garlic pizza recently, which is consistently amazing, but even the plain cheese is delicious!  Their toppings are always fresh, there's just the right amount of sauce and the crust is always cooked perfectly.  I had family up from Virginia recently, and they were shocked at how tasty their pizza was, saying they just don't get pies like that down south.  To top it off, the people who take the orders (that I talk to more than my mother haha) are so sweet and friendly, and keep your credit card on file to make the process even easier.

By far the most scrumptious pizza i've had in the Brighton area, I just wish i'd discovered this gem sooner!!

The best pizza in the area.  I pretty regularly get the buffalo chicken or chicken and broccoli pizzas.  Both have impressive flavor and are made with quality pieces of chicken.  Even the times I've strayed off of the pizza menu (like for a delicious steak tip souvlaki the other day) I've been satisfied.

I've never gone for the delivery, but every time I order for pickup it's ready in 15 minutes.  Can't complain about that.

Pretty close to the best pizza in the area.
Its a toss up between here & Pinos for me at the minute. I think I should go back here a few more times just for, ahem, research purposes.
The cheese slice was delicious. Crispy thin crust with a sweet tomato sauce and oozing cheese!
Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu.

I finally got to try Brickhouse tonight for the first time. I'd driven by it many times and always wanted to check it out. It's a small place on the outside but it's very close to where I live. The place has an original look to it. I was torn between getting a burger and a pizza (their menu looks great!), but I decided on a sausage and garlic pizza. It was delicious. The crust is probably my favorite part... crisp on the outside yet still chewy with  great flavor to boot. The sauce tasted fresh and lived up to the description on the website. Not too acidic like some places, just perfectly spiced and tasty. The mozzarella was also fresh, delicious, and clearly high quality. I couldn't taste a ton of the garlic but it was definitely there... I like more garlic than most people could tolerate so that's what I chalk it up to.The sausage was different; it was tasty but different than your average sausage found on pizza. It gave the pizza it's own originality that was kind of a nice change of pace. This place claims to use high quality and fresh ingredients.  After trying their pizza, I can see they are telling the truth. I'll definitely be back to try the burgers and subs soon, which I have heard great things about.  Very reasonably priced, too!

I'm a big fan of Alfredo's on Brighton ave. & Craftsmen in Allston next to the engine 41/ladder 14 fire station mostly because it's right across the street from me, but also because it's delicious.  I've found it's the best Italian around here.

That said, I'm always on the search for Plan B options for delivery.  I had read some very solid Yelp reviews on Brickhouse, so I found a good time to check out the chicken parm pasta with a garden salad. I was not disappointed.

The pricing is pretty reasonable although the $12 delivery minimum works to trump that.  Other than that though, I can't say I have any complaints.  Delivery took about 30 min and everything was friggin delicious.  Portion size was excellent as it's pretty much turned into 3 total meals for me.

If you're looking for good sauce, pasta & meat as opposed to just pizza, I'd rate Brickhouse right next to Big Daddy's on Western Ave and just behind my boy, Alfredo.

They're not open too late, so be cautious there.

This place was a major letdown. I am a loyal La Mama customer, but since I now live in Brighton I thought I should branch out and give the local pizza a try. Eating this pie was like waking up christmas morning and finding no presents under the tree. So excited...then bam!, you're chewing a mouthful or gross pizza. (Glad that metaphor works so well)
Delving deeper, the toppings were threadbare- they didn't even have the decency to fry the eggplant! The sauce was flavorless and the crust was strait outta Papa John's- with no butter-garlic sauce to help you choke it down. I have to find a place in Brighton to help me restore my faith in pizza, as Brickhouse has left me severely shaken.

I drive by Brickhouse Pizza almost everyday. I was expecting a cute order-at-the-counter but sit-at-a-table place with a real brick oven. That is not what I got. Brickhouse is like every other pizza joint. There are two counters along the walls, and the staff seemed shocked when we said we wanted to eat in. We ordered a Floretine (baby spinach, garlic, and ricotta). I was expecting mounds of baby spinach, I got maybe two dozen leaves. The ricotta was slopped on in a handful of huge globs. The sauce (regular tomato) looked canned.

The pizza wasn't bad, per se, but it was far from the gourmet pizza experience for which I was hoping. This is just down the street from my apartment, so I might be back, but it will never be my first choice. I would rather trek to Cleveland Circle for Pino's awesome greasy thin crust or hop on the T for some gourmet Upper Crust. Brickhouse is your run-of-the-mill boring pizza joint, with a nice and deception sign.

I have never had a pizza from Brickhouse Pizza & Grille. But after the eggplant parm and side salad that I wolfed down the other night (in ecstasy), I am very much looking forward to testing out their pies.

Hands down, the best eggplant parm I have ever had in Boston.

Super thin and fresh slices of breaded eggplant layered between the best, sweetest marinara sauce ever, then covered with FRESH mozzarella, and served on a (again) FRESH roll, may be my new favorite meal.

The side salad was a surprise as well. It was mixed greens and not large chunks of iceberg lettuce with dry tomatoes - but instead was topped with fresh cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and roasted red peppers.

I can't wait to try their fries. Have to wait for a "cheat" day though. After enjoying the buffet of fresh items on their sandwiches and salads, I'll still visit them again, soon.

I got takeout here tonight with my boyfriend. He got a calzone with sausage, bacon, mushrooms, and onions, and I ordered the carbonara with penne. The first bad sign was when I pulled my pasta out of the bag to find that they hadn't made the carbonara with penne, but with linguini.

The carbonara was possibly the worst I'd ever had. The sauce was thick, bright white, clearly the same they used for alfredo, and tasted like Betty Crocker alfredo powder. The "bacon and ham" was a good amount of ham (which was cut deli-thin, weird...) and NO BACON. To top it all off, the pasta was overcooked.

The garlic bread that came with it was a chunk of stale, dense Italian bread that I don't think would set off a reaction in someone allergic to garlic.

The calzone was probably the highlight of the meal, but my boyfriend described it as "boring", "rubbery", and "stingy on the good ingredients".

Over all, I'm convinced that their pizza must be sprinkled with fairy dust, because the rest of their food is most definitely not four and a half star quality.

Ok, guys, so the pizza is good, but not even close to the best in Boston.  Please.  I've only had take out, however, so I haven't had a pie fresh from the oven.

One of the stranger pizzas they serve is the Salad Pizza.  It's a good idea in theory, and quite tasty, but you can't just take a greek salad, douse it in balsamic vinegar and throw it on top of a pizza - it gets soggy!  But delicious nonetheless.  The crust in general is solid.

All I can say is that this place is fabulous! I used to have the pizza, but have the subs with some regularity. If you go here you absolutely have to try the Buffalo Bill sub: its quite good.

The "bang for your buck" factor here is tremendous. The subs are HUGE! I often find myself wondering where they find bread that long. I sometimes have half for lunch and the other half for dinner (its that big). The also do not skimp on the toppings like some of the chain places. Subs always come loaded (read:overflowing) with plenty of meat and toppings.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention the pizza. This is one of the few places where I can literally recommend any pizza on the menu. They are all quite good and can be customized to your individual taste. I used to have one every other week, but I'm trying to save my midsection.

Finally, the place is always clean, though there's only minimal seating in bar stools. There's a tv, but its more for the employees, as the place isnt really designed as a sit down place. I would rate the decor as higher than your typical "neighborhood" pizza joint, but below that of your traditional "sit-down" place. Personally, I care about the food, and less about its decor: if not putting up fancy accoutrements keeps the prices low, I'll take it.

In short, go here, you won't be disappointed.

I was taking a rare car ride down Washington Street one night when we passed this place and I could smell the delicious scent of good pizza, so I made a mental note to try it out. A month later I made the call and I will not be forcing down slices from any other Brighton pizza place ever again (except for perhaps the late-night grab from not-so-Fast Eddies).

My boyfriend and I ordered the Chicken and Broccoli and it was soooo very good. The pieces of chicken were sizeable, broccoli well-cooked, and the garlic not too in-yo-face. The crust was also very tasty. The only drawback was that it was too floppy to actually pick up with my hands, but it was delicious enough that I didn't mind having to use a fork and knife.

    More, please.

All my fellow Allston / Brightonites know what I'm talking about when I mention the Black Hole.

Ah, yes.  We live in a wonderful city, but you pretty much have to take someone's mother hostage in order to get halfway decent pizza.  So many pizza joints around, such a paucity of a decent pie.  There's your black hole - not a scrap of decent delivery food or pizza in a three mile radius.

Maybe I'm exhausted from Greek pizza.  No offense to the Greek establishments out there, but it's all the same, and I'd love something different.

We found Brickhouse via Yelp (thanks guys, you never let us down), and we were somewhat blown away by the sheer awesomeness of the food.  I had a buffalo chicken pizza, which was amazing, and he had a sub, which seemed to take up the space of a city block.

I will happily be a return customer.

When I moved to Brighton, this was the first place I hit.  It's right around the corner from my apartment and after taking my first bite of their pizza, I knew I was home.  I'd been living in California where the pizza just plain sucks.  Ever been to California Pizza Kitchen? Yeah exactly.  Cali can't do pizza. (Except in Santa Cruz.)

Anyway - I drop in all the time to grab  a slice... no heat. The best pizza tastes good cool... and theirs kicks ass.  Tangy sauce.  Good salty cheese.  Perfect crust.  $2 a slice for cheese.

The other favorite is their chicken/broccoli/parmesan cheese/penne dish.  It's way too huge though - my only complaint.  It's $8 and easily feeds two. I'm single... and don't push a plate away often... bad.  I'd love it if the portions were about 1/2 the size for like $5-6.

    Steak/cheese subs are good... B+.

Only a few seats, so it's a to go kind of sub shop.

Having decided I wanted pizza for my birthday, my friend and I mathematically calculated that 7 large pizzas would be the correct number of pizzas for 11 normal sized people. We must have been using that "new math," because we were WAY off.

We had 3.5 pizzas left over at the end of the night, but it's not because the pizza tasted terrible. Quite the opposite, in fact. The crusty was chewy, the sauce tasty (without committing the mortal sin of sweetness), the toppings DELICIOUS, the location key, and the prices fair.

I highly highly highly recommend the buffalo chicken pizza. Amazing. Way better than any buffalo chicken pizza I have had previously, including Antonio's in Amherst (which is saying a LOT). I think the deliciousness was due to the blobs of ricotta cheese on top. YUM! Blue cheese dressing served on the side. Sigh. Pure heaven. I love sauces.

I also highly recommend the St. E's pizza (cheese pizza with a mixed green salad on top).

All in all, I have found my perfect pizza place, and so have a lot of my guests. They took home some of the pizza as party favors! Definitely go out of your way to visit this joint.

Excellent pizza joint.  Great crust,  and we had spinich, chopped garlic, and ricotta on ours, which was a great combo.  The garlic was cooked and integrated nicely into the overall flavor, which is often a problem at other pizza places.

It looks a lot swankier from the outside than it really is.  From the outside I wondered if showing up in my yoga pants would be underdressed.  But inside, it's got only window seating and the employees were hanging out watching the Pats game and drinking beer (though they were trying to be discreet, which was adorable).

I just started a new job in Brighton and don't know the area too well.  I went on Urbanspoon to find a place to get a quick bite to eat and Brickhouse came up.  100% of people "liked" it, so I thought I'd give it a shot.  Plus it was right around the corner, which was extremely convenient.  I drove but I easily could have walked.

I opted to go around the block and park on a side street instead of trying to parallel park on Washington St.  I walked in and was the only customer.  The place was really clean and quiet.  I was greeted upon entering by a man behind the counter who immediately started making my order after taking it.  Walked over to the register and paid for my stuff.  The price was a little steep for what I got though - almost $9 for a small steak and cheese with extra cheese and a Nantucket Nectars drink.  However, my food was ready in no time and I was in and out within 5 minutes.  PERFECT for someone with a limited lunch time!

Sat down back at work and opened my sandwich.  The roll wasn't too bready - something I hate - and it definitely wasn't skimpy (though the extra cheese wasn't too evident).  I took a bite and it was delicious!  Not an ounce of fatty meat in the entire sandwich.  It was a good sized sandwich and was satisfying to the point where I felt full but not overstuffed.  I would definitely go back here in a heartbeat!

I had driven by this place a few times and made a mental note each time. then that fateful night came when it was late, there was no food in the house, and we were way too hungry to not go to Brickhouse Pizza.

There was an underwhelming aura of strangeness in there that i can't quite put my finger on.  We asked the guy at the counter a few questions and he looked at us like we were space aliens (which is a look we get frequently, so who knows).  The pizza was surprisingly good (we had the Florentine), but the service was sub par.  He asked if we wanted it for "here or to go." And we opted for the eat-in option, yet the pizza still came in a cardboard pizza box.  What?!?! Is that the subtle 'get your pizza and get out' hint?

This place has great pizza, but I would say unless you are having a slice on your lunch break, do the take out or delivery.

Super tasty and super quick.  We live less than a mile from the place, and wow are they fast. We had our pie in under 20 minutes the other day.  We also live less than a mile from a few other pizza places and they never deliver this fast.

Tasty ingredients and great finished product.  Pizza is great and the boneless buffalo is pretty darn good too.

We have never been inside, only driven by, so I cant comment on the interior or the staff, although they are polite on the phone. My one small issue is that they stop delivery a bit early for my tastes.

The buffalo chicken pizza might be a little thin boss but I really suggest eating it.  It's too tasty for you not to.  The steak and cheese is also phenomenal as well.  It's not super greasy and it's gigantic.  If you're a big fan of non-greek style pizza I'd say give it a whirl.

One thing to note though, they charge you $1 extra if you use your credit card and they don't tell you about it.  After you add the delivery it gets a little more expensive than you might expect.

Overall the food is awesome, the delivery is very prompt, and the people working there are cordial.

I've been searching for good pizza in our neighborhood.  Brighton has no shortage of pizza places, but they're all mediocre.  I usually go to Pizzeria Regina at the depot, but are always in search of something closer to home.  I finally decided to try Brickhouse Pizza after walking by it a bunch of times.  I've only had their pizza, but both the cheese and the buffalo chicken are really good.  Glad to have a great local pizza place - its my go to for pizza now.

This place rocks!!! I have been living in Brighton for a few months now and just tried it recently. I've already been back a number of times. The pizza is amazing, and the Chicken Parm Subs are omg. The guys who work in there are really friendly too.

    Definitely recommend!

I dunno what happened... but this went to being my favorite place to get a pizza to wanting to find a replacement.
Suddenly their pizzas are like most that I've found here in Boston - you pick up a slice and water/grease comes sliding off and making a mess. Their ingredients don't seem as fresh,
Delivery has been kinda slow, too.

I will still continue to eat from here occasionally, though.
    it's not horrible.

    I am sad.

This small pizza place is across the street from the St. Elizabeth's Hospital on Washington Street, and very close to my apartment in Brighton. I decided to eat at this place on whim because I was in the mood for some pizza place dishes and hearing all these Yelp reviews about how good it is.

The first dish I ordered via delivery was a Sausage and Pepperoni Calzone with some onion rings. When my delivery arrived I clearly underestimated the size after opening the box. It was huge! Using really rough estimates, it was approximately 38.5 cm long, 20 cm wide, and 3.5 cm thick. The biggest calzone that I have ever eaten! I could only eat 1/3 of the calzone after eating about 90% of all my onion rings. The cheese was amazingly good, the sausage was tasty, and the bread was crisp and chewy. It was VERY greasy, and I resorted to using a knife and a fork in the end. At approximately $9, a sausage and pepperoni calzone is enough for a good dinner and a great amount of leftovers for tomorrow's lunch for one person.

I came here again, and decided to get a medium pizza. I ordered the Brick House, which is a pizza with pepperoni, sausage, pepper, onion and mushrooms. The pizza was approximately 30 cm in diameter. After ordering it, and bringing it back to my apartment, I took the first bite, and I was amazed. The crust was so fresh, chewy on the inside and lightly crispy on the outside. The vegetables were crisp, the sauce tasted right, and the pepperoni and sausages were good. At approximately $13 (including tax), a medium pizza is enough for two people but I was able to eat 5/6 of it (I was really hungry and did not eat for eight hours beforehand). The Brick House Pizza clearly beats Papa Ginos' best pizza, The Works in terms of tastiness and freshness.

While the pizza was great, I think the Calzones are a much better value unless you order the large sized pizzas and have a group of three people.

The interior is small, there is no public bathroom, and there's only bar stools for sitting. There is a pile of magazines to read while you are waiting if you are into reading about cars or you can watch the small flat screen TV.

This pizza place is a hidden gem in terms of great pizza and calzones in the Boston area and I am mostly likely going to turn to them for pizza, calzones, and their other dishes. Brickhouse Pizza could have a legitimate chance to challenge Viga (if Viga opened on nights and weekends) in terms of the best pizza place I have eaten in the Boston area, and it is now one of my top two pizzerias in the Boston area... for now.

Eh, this was okay.  I read all of these fabulous reviews on Yelp and was SUPER excited for my buffalo chicken pizza.

It was good, and delivery was quick, but it was gourmet prices for average pizza.  Pino's is better pizza AND cheaper.

Gettin' frustrated with Boston food, guys...

Nothing bad to say about this place. The pizza is awesome (try the buffalo chicken), sandwiches are big and tasty and the staff is the best.  If you're in a rush they have really big slices too.
