I had my photo taken at EcoTuesday, a sustainable business networking event, (which Nikki P. mentioned in another review) and it is honestly one of the best photos ever taken of me. Then I spoke with other folks at the following month's event, and they all shared they had a similar experience of his work and feeling great about their own shots!

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY LESSONS THAT WON'T BREAK YOUR SPIRIT
"Motherfucker! I bought this expensive camera and I can't make it work worth shit. Sure it is OK in Monkey Mode--auto--but is this all there is?"
That was me. Now my buyers remorse is gone thanks to Jared Brick. I bought a NIKON SLR he showed me how to use it. Let's face it, cameras are easy to use now but what you need to know to get good shots in various conditions have not changed.
Jared will meet you anywhere and with the patience of a saint tell you how to use your toy. His ability to communicate concepts, and you need to know them, is very good.
Does ISO, f stop, and aperture totally confuse you. It should. But Jared makes it simple...

Unlike other teachers he LIKES teaching and never is condescending. With tons of Flickr'rs running around with expensive toys like me this guy is the missing piece. Pretty down to earth, willing to drop an f-bomb if necessary. Extra credit there...

I hired Jared to give my sister-in-law a two hour lesson while she was visiting me. She loved it. She learned features on her camera she didn't even know existed. Jared was very friendly and made her feel comfortable. She is shy and felt at ease with Jared. He was great at communicating with me before and after the lesson and was on time when he met us for the lesson. I will definitely sign up for a lesson for myself now!
Jared is a great teacher. My 13-year-old son and I were in San Francisco on a week-long "homeschool-like" field trip and called Jared for a private photography tutoring lesson. My son got a Nikon D60 for Christmas and really knows how to use it now thanks to Jared!! He is fun and a real expert.

Jared Brick is one hell of a photographer. He is a man of vision. We have worked together on many occasions - weddings, Model and talent shoots, and for an an adventure sports magazine in Santa Cruz.
