While spending a week away from home (Des Moines, IA) in a tiny cabin near Cable this place caught our eye. We were going into Cable for a few things and decided to call in and order take out lunch. We ordered the espresso pulled pork BBQ sandwich with kettle chips and the Lake Owen Panini with potato salad. Both of these items were featured by Guy Ferrari in Diners, Drive ins and Dives, so how can you go wrong? ,We were informed they were quite busy and it would be 30 minutes. It was 12:30 on a Tuesday when we called so - lunch crowd. We arrived in the time specified and saw the outside seating was filled as was the parking area. I went in to pick up I order and was told it would be another 5 minutes.

This gave me time to look over some of the great desserts available. They have ice cream, cakes, cookies and cinnamon and caramel rolls in display cases where you can see them. I decided we had try the cream cheese cinnamon roll and a slice of sinful seven. The carrot cake and devils tower both looked amazing as well and priced at $8 a slice would be a steal because they could easily be shared!

I paid (only $30 not including tip) for lunch for two, large cinnamon roll and cake. got our food and left. When we got to the cabin we could smell the food and were so ready to eat. The pulled pork was on a soft bun topped with coleslaw. The espresso BBQ was flavorful and added a different but delightful taste. The kettle chips were crunchy and not greasy. The panini was loaded with turkey, provolone cheese melted just right with tomato, red onion and the walnut spread - crunchy and seasoned with herbs - absolutely made the sandwich something special! The potato salad had large chunks of perfectly cooked red skin on potatoes, celery and the dilly ranch dressing. I love anything with dill and was not disappointed!

The cinnamon roll was so large we decided we could share it for breakfast in the morning after heating it slightly in the microwave. The cream cheese frosting looks amazing and cant wait to try it. The sinful seven looks amazing but we have yet to try it because we were filled. Dessert tonight!

Excellent food and service! We enjoyed a lunch for four on their deck -- pulled pork sandwich, strawberry and spinach sandwich, and a grilled chicken sandwich. THEN we had the world's biggest, tallest slices of cake -- one carrot cake and one chocolate cake...WOW!

Visiting the Brick House Cafe had been on my list for awhile...thanks to Diner's, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Located in Cable, Wisconsin, you have to make an effort to get here and when you do, it won't disappoint.

We had a large group of 7 people and the seating area is very small, but the staff was very helpful in pulling together a few tables so we could all sit together. We ordered a variety of items, the Espresso BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich was a favorite of 4 of us...my daughter really enjoyed her chicken tenders, the others had the Chili and a grilled cheese sandwich.

The Espresso BBQ Pork is mouthwatering...the bun was tender, the pork was tender, and the coleslaw on top added to the flavor. The garlic french fries were delicious and we enjoyed some cookies to go!

I thought I had reviewed this place in the past, but I guess I haven't. We have been coming to Cable for several years now as our son is a ski racer. This place is one of our two favorite places to eat in town (the other being the pizza place, of course). Somehow Guy Fieri came here with his diners drive-ins and dives Crew (I am still trying to wrap my brain around why Guy was in Cable to begin with, lol), and of course he loved it too. In the past we have loved and relied on their homemade soups and pastries for lunches. Yesterday I got two caramel rolls, I was having a craving and they are pretty spectacular. They are GIGANTIC and are topped with chopped walnuts instead of pecans, which I think is more Northwoods-y. The dough is so tender and delicious. And if you are a lover of the caramel part of the caramel rolls, then these are definitely the rolls for you. I actually tend to prefer more roll than goo, but that didn't stop me from licking the box clean!

Wanted to stop in after years of driving by and knowing this place was on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Glad I did! Got the creme brûlée French toast and coffee. The entree was great, and not too heavy. Wish the pears were a bit more caramelizad. Coffee was so-so. Fun atmosphere, decent service. Will plan to stop again.

Such a great place! We went here every morning for breakfast while we were visiting the Cable area and the food was hot, service was great, and the cafe was so cute and inviting! We're will definitely be back again! The eggs Benedict was my favorite and my husband's was the Creme Brulee French toast.

I had the pulled pork and it was very yummy!
Caramel Macchiato was nice and strong.
I seen a few other plates that came out with Soup and Salad. You will not leave hungry!
