Grass driving range, rock-bottom rates, interesting layout, walkable.
Whizzing power lines are an eye sore, greens were pretty beat up. Would I drive 80 miles roundtrip to play here again? No.

I would make this course a last resort in the area.  The older woman who works in the pro shop (co-owner?) is really not a very nice person.  The rest of the staff has been pretty friendly and accommodating for the past few years until very recently.  This summer has seen a low point for the course.

First, the senior clubs from Somerset began to complain that they were not getting any roll from their shots because of all the water.  In response, the course cut the watering down by half.  Mysteriously, the grass died and the course became absolutely terrible.  Tee times were not adjusted accordingly and the previously mentioned woman in the pro shop vehemently denied the reason for the course conditions.  Instead she cited "over-watering" as the reason the course looked worse than Bethel Island's.

Still, I gave it some time and played again a couple weeks ago.  One of the courses was shut down for maintenance and the others had regrown reasonably well.  This week I tried twice to get on to play 9 holes after work before we set the clocks back.  On Thursday, I called at 4:30 and was told they just closed.  Today, I called at 4 and they told me they close in 10 minutes.  Apparently, they do not want the business anymore.

The major advantage this course used to have over the other local courses was the greens fees.  Shadow Lakes is usually even cheaper and is a MUCH nicer course with a MUCH better staff.  I may end up playing here again, but it will certainly be my last choice in the area after Shadow Lakes, Deer Ridge, Lone Tree, and Roddy Ranch.  All of the other courses play faster, as well.  I would probably even drive to Livermore or Dublin before booking at Brentwood again.

Brentwood Golf Course is a fun course to play and you can get a great rate!  The staff are nice and the course has plenty of sand traps and water hazards to keep the course interesting.  It weaves through homes but the course is wide enough that you don't have to worry about breaking a window or ruining someone's BBQ.

    Memorial Day + 1:15pm Tee Time + 4 golfers + 2 carts = $100!!

    Some Cons
    - power lines run through the course.  They didn't really come into play but it just looks really bad and hearing the buzz is annoying.
    - the course needs a haircut badly.
    - the tee box needs some maintenance.  Some holes, it was hard to find a decent place to tee off because of huge divots, bumps or your feet standing on crooked earth.
    - given the warmth, it would be nice if there were more water coolers around.

Nines - bar and restaurant.  Their food is actually very good and filling! We had the tuna melt, grilled chicken sandwich and half turkey/salad and it was good!  Staff there at the Nine are great too... plenty of TVs to catch up on the game.

Overall fun course, good price and it's very relaxing.   It's a short course so if your normally hit white, hit blue.

For anyone looking to book their wedding ceremony and/or reception at the Brentwood Golf Club, think again!  This place is a total nightmare.  My best friend is getting married there this year and booked the site immediately following her proposal.  Huge mistake.  In the midst of her excitement, she didn't read the fine print.  This has to be the most uncooperative venues in Northern California and I've been around a lot of weddings.

First of all, you are only allowed to rent your linens from their source.  Of course, they charge about 25% more for the linens than if you were able to order directly from a company.

Regarding chair rentals, at first they said that they can rent Chiavari chairs for the event at a rate that is almost $4.00 more per chair than if we could rent from elsewhere.  So, my best friend told them that she would find another company.  Upon hearing that, she tells my BF that she can only rent from another company if she doesn't have an event on Sunday@@  She then asked if she could at least match the price of the outside rental source.  She responds  that they no longer offer Chiavari chair rentals and if she'd like to bring them in they'll allow it, BUT they must be delivered, set up AND picked up on the same day!  WHAT?!  At every single turn, this site has made it impossible to pull off the wedding of my BF's dreams, so to speak, for a reasonable price.  They are getting over on people in a major way and it's disgusting.

Her dealings with this place have shown me that they couldn't care less about customer service.  As long as they're making a killing, who cares!  They won't even allow the cocktail reception to be held on the patio.  A couple months left before the wedding and I'm positive that they'll throw up more road blocks as time goes on.

If you must get married there, ask a ton of questions before you sign that contract because this is not a customer service oriented venue.  You can find another site that actually cares about your event and won't force you to break the bank for the betterment of their pockets.

The only reason I gave them 1 star is because the system wouldn't allow me to give them none!

I attended my cousins' wedding here and they totally nailed it.  I have attended many weddings in my day, Of course, I don't have all of the back office details, but the setting was beautiful, the food and drinks were fantastic, the staff was friendly, helpful and smiled the whole team, even during the clean up.

The ceremony, pictures, and reception all moved along swiftly and I would recommend BCC to any couples looking for a wonderful wedding setting.

Of course, the weather was perfect too!

Staff was personable and gave us a discount on our discount.  We played Creekside and Diable since HIllside was closed for course maintenance for a few weeks which was alright by me since this was our first time out here. Like the unlimited golf balls inclusion with the green fees. What a fun course - loved the over the water shots - it kept the course fun and interesting. Fairways were wide enough and playing next to the homes wasn't an issue. Tee boxes definitely needed some work. With a little more TLC these courses could be pretty awesome. BTW, playing Creekside and then having to roam the neighborhood to work our way back to Diabo was a pain and at some points it felt like the Rapture had taken place and we were by ourselves. I shot my best game today so I really can't complain too much.  :)~

I frequent this course the most. 3 or 4 times a month. Good prices without using http://golfnow.com The staff is usually very nice. The bartender can make a great bloodymary too. Oh..and the course is fun, well groomed and challenging. The only thing I would complain about is the golf carts here are always having problems. One day we came here we were told they were out of golf carts. I think/hope they were all being fixed. What a relief that would be.

I have played this course dozens of times, I have eatan at Nines dozens of times. friends and family get together at least twice a year and play here. I was very turned off by this place by one incident that happened a couple of months ago. My wife had bought me a gift certificate to play the course and I already had one. She went to return the certificate and waited with my two young children for a manager for hours three days in a row. She called at least 5 times before heading to the pro shop. Finally I began calling and I called 8 times and never recieved a call back from the operatins manager Nick. Finally the young man at the front desk felt so bad he bought the gift certificate from my wife out of his own pocket. I have since played Lone tree Way four times and I am currently going to begin scheduling our yearly friends and couples tournamament for this summer at Lone Tee Golf Course for now on. Sadly three of our friends got married at Brentwood Golf Course based on our recommendation in the last two years. Its been almost two months now and still no call back from Nick or apology.
