Succinct, nice little place that deserves a succinct, nice little review.
A friend and I popped in quickly to get a few things, and I came away with gorgeous glittery OPI nail polish on sale for $4.25!
Place seems family run, complete with cute little old man working the counter. I definitely want to go back when I have more time and find the right shampoo for my ombre dyed hair (oily roots, dry ends. waah!). -

I used to like coming here just to see the sweet old man that is the owner. Always pleasant and sweet but today was a weird experience!! So I walk in to get my usual color when I reached to get the box from the top shelf and since there is no stable backing which faces the shelf on the opposite everything came crashing down on the other side!!! OMG!!! Shampoo and conditioner splattered everywhere!! The woman that works there, a relative, starts cursing and yelling at me as to why I didn't ask her for help. I told her that as a customer she should have approached me and that I didn't need help because I know what I need for my color!!! Then she proceeded to complain as to why I was nitpicking the boxes and I showed her my empty boxes and told her that I wasn't nitpicking because I know what specific colors to buy! Then I showed her that there is no support or backing to the boxes and that I've seen other customers do this so why don't they take two seconds to support the back with ties like they've done with the two other shelves. That their attitude is dispicable!!! I left telling the old gentleman who was so sweet in all of this telling that woman who I believe was his daughter to chill out. I told him the only reason I even come here was because of him but that the women that works here has to stop blaming their customers for their own hazard stocking style. I used to have my own store and that shouldn't be on the top shelf to begin with. Why an I explaining this insanity?????

I needed a new hair straightener. Simple task, yet I haven't been able to find a good one! Those creepy people in the mall always try to straighten my hair with theirs, but I needed a real beauty supplies store with real, credible products.
Luckily, Brentwood Beauty Supply is right down the street! I stopped in, found my original Chi hair straightener for a reasonable price, and a bright green nail file. The saleswoman and her husband (the owners, I'm assuming?) were super sweet and helpful. They gave me a ton of samples for shampoos and conditioners that could help my problem hair (wavy, thick, straight in some places, and frizzy) and gave me the nail file for free!
I loved the family-vibe and the fact that it's right down the street. I also really like that they carried some different products that were imported. I'll have to check those out soon!Listed in: In my hood!

I stopped in here (among other shops) to enquire about a pair of hair cutting scissors. The woman behind the counter was quite helpful, showing me the various brands and styles, then leaving me to look everything over and let me decide on my own.
As I was looking for a different length of scissors than those offered, I did not make a purchase. However, I noted many brands of various products I do use, as well as Votivo candles (an item I love and couldn't find for a while in my old stomping grounds of Chicago).
Had a great experience here. Will definitely return. -

I can't decide between 3 and 4 stars.
Pros:
Great location
Great selection
Semi knowledgeable staff
Front and back entrance with parking in back
Cons:
Expensive (Due to great location)
Odd vibe, like you are being watched every minute, it's hard to enjoy shopping like that.
I don't know why I am not feeling the YAHOO!! about this one. I think it's the price. I come here when I absolutely NEED something immediately. Otherwise I like the beauty supply behind Cheesecake or ordering online. -

Service at the beginning was good - two very nice sales women assisted me as I looked for a few hair products. One of the products I wasn't sure about, but the saleswoman continued to ask me to buy it. Because it was rather expensive for a shampoo ($38), I hesitated, but she continued to tell me it was the best item for what I was looking for. In the end, I decided not to buy it.
I did purchase 4 other items with my debit card, however, and was handed a receipt, a business card, and left. Later, when I looked in my bag, I noticed that the receipt was not itemized, and I did the quick math on the items I had purchased. I was overcharged by $10. Next, I look at the business card, thinking it was the card of the saleswoman who helped me. No, it was the card for an unrelated 'Financial Services consultant' who I can only assume was related to the saleswoman.
The whole transaction felt fishy and pressured. I want to believe that the overcharge is an honest mistake, and am taking the receipt and items back on Monday for an honest check.
