We are very pleased with the work Dan and his crew did for us after PG&E dug up our front yard (and yanked out a 20' tree and many shrubs) to test gas pipes. Dan replaced the tree, put in new shrubs and overall, revitalized the yard so that it looks better than ever. Dan is responsive, efficient, and did exactly what he said he would do. We would recommend him highly to anyone who needs landscaping work done. Good job, Dan!

Dan and his very courteous landscape team swooped in to help my husband and me landscape our big back yard in San Mateo. Our home was completely transformed. We now have some nice turf, but even nicer colorful plants that are doing very well. Dan also irrigated the space and made recommendations for further landscaping additions, when we are ready!
We are fans. Dan's selections and advice were very professional, and we'd recommend him highly. -

Wow! Simply put, Dan and his guys are incredibly friendly, honest, fair, hardworking, and a joy to work with!
We interviewed 5 different landscapers for what was a fairly simple job on our front lawn and Dan was a great pick. He came in under his initial estimate, provided great attention, did an amazing job, was super honest and straight forward, showed up ON TIME, and was less expensive than the other guys! There are a lot of shady people out there, and Dan is a breath of fresh air!
Dan won't pressure you to buy materials or tack on extra projects and he definitely won't rip you off. His guy Max worked non stop and did such a great job I couldn't believe it!
On a side, less important note, Dan speaks perfect English which admittedly made planning and developing our idea really easy with zero language barrier. That can be hard to come by in this business.
In regards to the one bad review listed on here, I don't know what that person is talking about. Don't worry - Dan is incredibly reliable and was fast to respond, especially because we needed an estimate within hours.
I would definitely refer Dan to anyone looking for any type of lawn service. We will definitely use Brent Landscaping again in the future!! -

I felt that Dan is not effective in managing his staff.
I learned of Brent Landscaping from Yelp and was enthusiastic to try. Dan was very responsive to my call. Apparently he was busy but came soon enough to visit our home. His quote was was not low but he appeared to be pleasant to work with, so I chose him.
After the first time his guys came to work on my yard, I came home and could not tell whether anyone, at all, had done anything. I called and emailed him pictures of the lawn - specifically pointing out that, among other things, at least the edges of the lawn were not trimmed. He emphasized that his guys did a lot of weeding and other things, and would pay more attention to the edges next time.
Two weeks later, I came home after his guys worked on the lawn for the second time, and found that there was still no sign that anyone ever worked on the lawn because the grass was still long and the edges untouched and fuzzy. My wife complained to him and a few minutes later, his guys came again to trim the edges. Not a good job this time either. That was it!
Now I have another landscaping company who charges the same monthly fees but comes weekly, instead of bimonthly, and the lawn looks so much better.
Dan might be a great guy, but I have a strong feeling that he is not managing his staff effectively. -

I have referred Dan to EVERYONE. He is unfailing honest, kind, and an exceptional gardener. I have a home photography studio and he did wonders getting it photo ready.

I called Dan because we had some minor sprinkler issues and the grasses were dying in our front lawn. Dan took a look and was very honest because he told me the sprinkler issue was an easy fix, and he even fixed it for me for FREE! I asked if I could watch him and learn from him, and he patiently explained to me what he was doing and told me how I could do this myself if this happens again. Dan also told me the grass would come back to life if we just continued watering it regularly. So now I can get the front lawn into a decent shape without doing any major work. Thanks Dan. We'll definitely call you up when we're ready to upgrade our sprinkler system and/or re-landscape our yard.

Dan and his team have been an absolute delight to work with. We had a very small space that needed full new landscaping. It was a really hard job pulling out cement etc but his team did an absolutely smashing and professional job from start to finish. We would particularly like to highlight the creativity of the design which seemed to incorporate all our wishes in a well integrated fashion. To add to our pleasure the execution was fast, flawless and the end result has been beautiful. Thanks Dan!

Daniel Brent and his team at Brent Landscaping have been doing incredible work on my front/back yard! I met Dan through neighbors who have been working with Dan for a few years now. I hired Brent Landscaping and have no regret whatsoever. Dan's been quite attentive to every detail, made great recommendations and makes sure to provide an end-to-end service without limiting it to lawn maintenance. Dan and his team are excellent! I hired them to do a big fall clean-up and they pruned back lots of trees and shrubs, fixed our sprinklers, raked up old leaves and left everything looking neat and tidy. These guys really know how to prune! Everything was well shaped and natural looking. Dan is the nicest guy you will ever meet and all the workers were friendly and easy to work with too. Plus his rates are very reasonable. I highly recommend them!

I have to update my review because we just had Dan and his crew do all our landscaping for our new house (fence in the front yard, new lawns front & back, tree/stump removal, lighting, addition trees and tons of plants) and it looks INCREDIBLE!
Dan and his team are absolutely wonderful - honest, caring, professional, and really easy to have around. I'm a stay at home mom with a 12 month old and I feel completely comfortable having his team working while I'm home. They are friendly, extremely hard working, and really great guys. Plus, it's the same group so it's not like there are dozens of unknown men hanging around all the time (they don't use day labor).
In addition to all this, the guys are super talented. Dan handpicked all our plants, consulted with us along the way, listened and honored our desires (while being honest with our situation -- water, shade, etc) and offered great suggestions.
We will also be using them for continued maintenance. These guys are great from the small stuff (mowing) to the big stuff (total overhaul of our front/back yards). I cannot recommend them enough.1 Previous Review: Show all »

We have used Daniel Brent's lawn care and gardening services for the last three years. He and his crew are phenomenal. They do a thorough service and we completely entrust the care of our garden to them. On many occasions, we have come back to find new flowering plants that Dan has planted on his own.. On top of it, Daniel is a very friendly, helpful and an overall great individual! I would wholeheartedly recommend Dan's services..
