Go inside Brengle Terrace Park and up the hill, turn to the left into a small driveway and you have arrived. I just discovered Alta Vista Gardens inside Brengle Terrace Park a couple of weeks ago. What a find for an avid walker and nature-lover. A lot of love and care has gone into creating a wonderland for adults and children alike. There is a labrynth, an herb garden and a children's park area equipted with outdoor musical instruments. I have been back a few times now and every time I discover something new.

I come here to watch my friends play in their basketball league every now and then. It's a nice, clean gym tucked away behind trees and seems like it would be very beautiful in the daytime.

It always seems safe. The only irritating thing was that one of the league games before theirs was forfeited so ended an hour ahead of schedule. When it was eventually my guys' turn to play, the refs had already left and didn't remember to stick around for the next game. But i don't think it is the park's fault, to be honest I'm not sure where the league/refs all come from..

Nice park, though. If I had a dog or kids I'd take them here.

Did you know this park is 85 Acres?!

A little of something for everyone:

Tennis Courts where I went to practice with pals outside of the tennis team.

Basketball courts that I never touched, but definitely walked around.

Baseball Fields that we used to play everything but baseball on.

Volleyball courts... but I don't know where.

Boccie ball & Horseshoes! Eh. Dad played those.

Lots of hills to roll down. Especially the big hill. I never walked over the top as a kid, but once in my teenage years, I saw there were pavilions up there. The cute wooden wedding ones. & Great views of the city!

Picnic areas for free party central!

Playgrounds for big kids to relive their small kid years, although they definitely replaced the wooden jungle gyms with those new, shiny plastic ones that don't give splinters!

Public restrooms! They're public, what do you expect?!

A recreation center! YAY! Arts & Sports camps! KARATE! haha.

    Adjacent to the Moonlight Amphitheater!

    And a senior center!

Out of all the parks I have been talking my son to in San Diego County this would have to be one of the best. It is gigantic and when I say gigantic I mean that it has alot of space to run and play, basket ball courts, tennis courts and many other things. The play structure is bigger than the others its built strong so adults can climb if they want to. 4 different slides(fast slides) for the kids to slide down and a bunch of things to hang from and ladders to climb up. There are plenty of tables to sit at and eat lunch if you wish, and a fare amount of trash cans through out the park to throw your trash in. Weekends get packed with Birthday Parties and kids playing at the playground. A great park to go and visit if you have kids.

I've been coming to this park since 94 and I absolutely love it. It's close by where I live so that's convenient. When I was a child and teenager, I use to play basketball here. I don't anymore because those days are over, but lots of memories in this park. I LOVE how big it is. You can always find a open spot to picnic here. I use to take my dog for walks here back when I had a dog. He loved it. Lots of places to Bar B Q, but sometimes they can all be taken because of parties. The playground can get pretty crowded too, but that means there's a lot of children my daughter can play with. I just started taking my husband to this park. He loves it too. All around, this park is very spacious, green, with lots of things to do. It's for everyone.
