Awesome, awesome, awesome. Great meal and great service. We are fans of the real Rays Original Pizza in Manhattan - this place is just as good. I have never given any pizzeria that compliment but this place is amazing. If you want authentic NY style pizza you have to stop here. Their other stuff looked great too especially the baked ziti. Especially excited that my wife was able to have an actual meal that was gluten free. So many places say they have a gluten free menu but it is just salad or a piece of meat with no seasoning. Brenda's has a great selection of gluten free meals including the chicken pasta and pesto entree which my wife loved. Will definitely make it a point to stop here anytime we are near Deep Creek in the future.

Surprisingly delicious!
I was not expecting to find great italian food in the mountains of MD, but Brenda's was wonderful. Started with the garlic bread and baked clams as appetizers - both are delicious. The salads were very fresh. Pastas were perfectly cooked and sauces were quite tasty. The pizza was New York style and the crust was yummy. The chianti by the glass is fabulous - I was so impressed.
For dessert - the cannoli was great, but the Apple crostini is definitely the way to go - it was the best dessert I've had in a very LONG time - much better than any other dessert from any other place around Deep Creek Lake. There may be a bit of a wait, it does get crowded. Staff are helpful and friendly. I also did appreciate the free Wifi. -

I thought the pizza here was pretty tasty. I had the pesto and bacon pizza and enjoyed every taste of it. Fresh, flavorful and fast service. Definitely will be back next time, though I may try something more traditional to get a better idea of their pizza versus the competition.

I'm wondering why - after a dozen years of coming here - that we haven't tried Brenda's yet. But we did tonight, and wow, we've been missing out. Three pizzas, three winners. The cheese pizza and greek pizza both drew raves from the family, but the meat lovers was the standout for being far tastier and far less greasy than we expected. We'll be back!

Brenda's has delicious pizza. I live right outside of DC and ther are only a few other pizza places that can compare to Brenda's. The Abbondanza is a great experience for out-of-town guests, especially after a long day on the lake.
By the way, is that THE Brenda who wrote the review on 2/1/11? It's okay, since Brenda's really is the best pizza in Garrett County... -

Top notch pizza's. Can't vouch for the rest of the menu, but the pizza was excellent. It was exactly what I was expecting from a good pizzeria: excellent crust, quality, fresh ingredients, red & white sauces.
This place is *not* a tourist trap, but a good restaurant that gets the details right.
Bonus, they had Cheerwine in glass bottles! -

Best pizza anywhere including NYC. Rays Famous, Lombardi's, and Grimaldi's can't hold a candle to Brenda's. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.

For lunch, we had a steak and cheese sandwich with a salad (feta on top). Great service and helpful. We ordered two pizzas to take back to our bed and breakfast. When I asked, they were helpful to provide some tinfoil and a small box to consolidate from the two pizzas we bought. The white pizza was hands down one of the best I have ever had. My husband got a pizza with lots of toppings and the presentation wasn't that appetizing, but he said it was good. Dine in and you get a lovely view of the lake.

Best Pizza on the lake.... I wish they delivered.. I believe (so my brother said) you can also park your boat, walk up the steps, cross at the crosswalk and go to Brendas. The pizzas are HUGE! The slices of pepperoni are GINORMOUS.... the ingredients are fresh. I cannot comment about the other food, we always get pizza. They have a lot of specialty pizzas available along with the good old "build your own" type.

Brenda's had excellent pizza and very good service. We were there on a Saturday night, so we had a long wait. I was able study all the clans in Ireland on the walls while waiting :). Had a bustling takeout business, which may be the way to go when the wait will be long.

We ordered a 26" pizza for take-out. Pizza was ready in 20 minutes. 26" is HUGE. We could barely get it into the backseat of the car. Slices were therefore very large. It's good pizza. The 26" inch pizza is a hoot, but I recommend getting several smaller sizes instead.

Pizza is fantastic. Salads aren't worth the time (mountain of iceberg, anyone?). Service is always outstanding and the wait staff goes out of their way to please. Two thumbs up!

We came based on our front desk person's recommendation at the hotel we were staying at. It was so good, we came back the second night. We ordered more food each day than two people really need because we wanted to try a lot of things. We tried the baked ziti (probably best thing we tried), chicken broccoli alfredo, pizza pieces (like white pizza- best deal on the menu), calzone, meatballs, chicken parmesan, slices of pizza, and the cookie sundae. Everything was good to excellent, mostly excellent, and our server, Brant, was awesome.
