I do not get my house cleaned professionally on a regular basis, but I gave Brenda's a try when I saw an online deal for 3 cleanings (2 people/2 hours each time).
I scheduled the cleanings one month apart. The two cleaners came on time all three times, were courteous, and did a great job. I know my house and how long it takes to clean, so I asked them to clean the kitchen, the living room, the dining room and the two bathrooms. This was very do-able, and these areas were super clean.
To be clear (because I see the other reviews), my experience was very good. I recommend this service and am likely to use it again in the future. I did not have any issues on the phone or with breakage. Cleaning houses is not an easy or enjoyable job--I know, because it is usually me who does it. I'm happy to find a service that is affordable and that I feel comfortable with. -

I am extremely pleased with the cleaning service I have received from this company. Are they perfect 100% of the time, have they broken something, are the sometimes late - yes. Am I perfect 100% of the time, do I break things when cleaning, and am I sometimes late - hell yes. (keep in mind, if they are late it likely isn't that they are lounging by the pool elsewhere, they are cleaning someone else's house - they don't just work for you) If any of the above ever occurs, Brenda's Cleaning is quick to call, alert me and/or apologize and try to rectify the situation. Better yet, if I don't think something is cleaned to par, which happens maybe once every 10 visits, I let them know with a phone call and next time they come they tend to do an even better job than what I expected initially.
They clean everything and I love it. Clean fridge in and out, clean microwave and stove in and out, they vacuum the couch, they dust and polish, the vacuum, mop and wipe. We haven't done a deep clean or even wiped down our bathroom in a year since hiring them. I love that this working mom can depend on Brenda's do take cleaning off my overloaded plate.
Oh yeah, I am also on auto pay so that I don't have to remember to leave out a check or send in a payment. Very easy. -

Such a mixed experience with Brenda's Cleaning Personnel. In general, the folks on the phone are okay, but not very flexible and I had to make my schedule work with their schedule...even though I called over 3 weeks in advance. When the team for the most current visit was over 45 minutes late, I called the office but never did get a return call. They finally showed up, but I never heard from the office.
This is the 3rd time we have had a Brenda's crew to our home....3 different teams, but an overall common experience: between 15-45 minutes late with no explanation with little or no introductions. Barely listened to my requests for prioritizing the cleaning tasks, which is important because my previous experience is that the Brenda's teams are very slow and probably won't be able to complete the house in the 2 hours for 2 people allotted.
The most recent team worked hard and give me hope for Brenda's. Another team was a complete waste of my time and the soap they used--one woman managed to get through 2 small bathrooms in 2 hours, while the other one managed to take 2 hours to lightly clean a fairly small kitchen. No time for vacuum or dusting. The third team was more efficient than that, but not by much. They still couldn't get through our relatively small house in 2 hours, with 2 people. It takes me a little under 2 hours by myself, so I can't figure out how it takes them so long. All three teams seem to take their time, which is great if things are completely sparkling afterwards, but if you still have to do half or more of the work yourself after they leave, why bother to have anyone come at all? -

I've scheduled appointments twice only to be blown off in the end. Today is the second appointment I schedule less than two weeks after the prior one in which no one showed up during the allotted time period (8am to 8:30am). If this were the first time, I would give it another chance. However, two times in less than two weeks is too much. I would give them no stars if that were an option.

I got the cleaning special via Living Social for which i got three 2 hour/2 people services. I was very happy with how efficient the two people were and how much they got done in each visit. We have a 1500 sq ft. condo. They did a wonderful job in our bathrooms (our priority) and left the place looking wonderful. I look forward to continuing this relationship.

I have been using Brenda's cleaning service for years and I'm very very happy with them. They are flexible when my schedule changes and always seem to do a little something extra, like clean the shelves in the refrigerator.

I've always used individual cleaners, not a service, but I decided to bite on the Brenda's cleaning service on Living Social. It took a bit of time on the phone to schedule, and I specifically added on time to get things really clean.
The cleaners did not show up on time (within a 1.5 hour window) and I spent about 15 min waiting on the phone to talk to someone, then she couldn't reach them by cell phone for about 15 minutes. The pair finally showed 40 minutes late - no apology provided. I offered them water, tried to be pleasant. I got the feeling they were insulted that my place was dirty - like, yes, that's why I hired you! I had cleared away junk from all areas so they didn't have to deal with that.
As far as cleaning - not great. They cleaned the kitchen but didn't even clean the sink out - two dishes there, and didn't even wipe it down. The kitchen floor wasn't cleaned either. They didn't ask if I wanted them to spend more time - as I had asked and agreed to? Huh? They left lickety spilt about 5 minutes before the end of the Living Social time, completely missing out on their extra hour, but on the whole, I'm glad I didn't spend more. I'll finish off the rest on my own. -

Alas.... Eureka.... a wonderful cleaning service. I should of followed Paul M's advice from the get go.
I have now set them up on a biweekly basis. They show up on time, bring their supplies, get to work, leave a perfectly clean house, bill my account.
If you call and speak to Brenda you will find she is very straight forward and upfront about the cost per hour and how many hours they will probably need to do a good job. However with that said she puts it all in your hands to make the best decision possible for your budget and your needs.
If you are looking for a new service I suggest you give them a call and my I also suggest you ask for Vanessa (as long as you don't take away my day and time) -

Soooooo happy I came on here to find an alternative to Green Bee Cleaning. I love Brenda's Cleaning.
They are punctual, reliable, and fantastic. I have used both Selma and Christina. AMAZING!
Whenever there's a change in schedule, I either receive a call back immediately, or they call me to change if they need to.
Their pricing is very fair and am so glad I am with them bi-weekly! -

I've used Brenda's for several years and have always been completely happy with the service I have received.
Their prices are more than Fair and Brenda and her staff are totally professional. I've used other cleaning services and they have not come close to the quality of Brenda's (and charged me much more!)
Ask for Christina. She is a perfectionist and always puts things back just where she found them. She cleans as if your house is her house and does it with a smile. -

First of all, the two women who cleaned my house always did a fantastic job, didn't break anything, were very friendly. I pointed out just a few minor things at first and were spotless every time thereafter. But the business side of the company didn't do these ladies justice.
The problem lies in the service itself, and unfortunately, I lost my trust in them enough that I canceled my twice-monthly service, here's why:
1. The main person on the phone are rather rude, condescending, lacking in customer service. The other one is nice, but it seamed like the two running the company didn't talk with one another.
2. You are always put on hold. If you leave a message, you often didn't get a call back.
3. I was quoted a price after I signed up for regular service after starting with a living social deal. I was never charged the quoted price, always more. There was never any communication about how long it took to clean my house, but charges would show up on my credit card statement that varied sometimes up to $60 difference, despite the fact that I was receiving regular service and always left my house in the same tidy condition. Why should it cost more one time than the next? I mean, I expect a certain amount of variation, just not that much. I lost a lot of trust in them when they basically outright lied with the charges up front.
4. I wished I could get a reminder call about service days. Not the end of the world, but this goes back to customer service.
5. I would say 50% of the time, I would get a call the day of about SOMETHING . . . they would be late, they forgot the key (please leave the door unlocked), or information not getting passed down to the cleaners from the people on the phone.
6. I was asked to furnish my own cleaning supplies and they weren't always being used, and apparently I was getting charged for them using their supplies. Another liberty they took with my money.
Ultimately, you put a lot of trust in a housecleaning service. They are in your house, often unattended! I just had to follow my instincts that told me something wasn't right with the business practices, no matter how well the house was cleaned. -

Extremely unprofessional. We bought this service through living social & it was quite a challenge to cash out. First they always put you on hold when you call, then will ask if they can call you back because they're swamped. The two owner ladies lack customer service & can be short & rude. They could not accommodate our schedule either of the four times we tried to schedule & we finally agreed to a time frame they gave us. The first scheduled cleaning was a no show, on a Saturday afternoon. We had to call them, apparently the person got lost. They were very unapologetic, told us they wouldn't send someone out again on a Saturday to avoid an issue. So we had to suffer for their mistake. Second scheduled cleaning was a team of two who arrived earlier than we were told. They were rushing but got the job done. Nothing outstanding, but left everything in disarray as they could not put anything back as they found it. The folks were sweet & the only reason why they even got the second star!

I own a moving company in Marin County and have used Brenda's Cleaning for a number of my clients for post-move clean ups. My client's have been pleased with Brenda's work. This is great for me because it reflects really well on my business. After a grueling move it is comforting to know that there won't be any complaints about the clean-up. Brenda's rates are very reasonable and customer service is outstanding. You can tell Brenda cares about her work because she gives so much individual attention to each customer.

They broke one of clocks by knocking it off the wall. Then, she put it back broken and didn't tell us.
