PINOT GRIS!! Phenomenal wines with the most outstanding pinot gris. Gorgeous little tasting room right off 128. A bit on the pricy side but the pinot gris is worth the splurge. You can also pick up Breggo at Cliff Lede in St Helena as they are affiliated somehow.
It's a "don't miss" stop as you start or finish your Anderson Valley wine country tour. -

This winery was recommended to us and unfortunately it was awful. The wines tasted old and the server was not knowledgeable. I heard they were just bought so maybe that was why. There are so many great wines in the Alexander Valley that I would skip this place.

Some friends and I visited to get info for a school project. Sharon was a great hostess. Answered all our crazy questions, haha. The wines were fantastic! The 2010 Wiley Pinot Gris was fruity and creamy, so yummy! My favorite was the Savoy Pinot Noir, spices and plum with a super silky finish that just made me melt. Totally gotta hit this place up if you're in Anderson Valley.

Still phenomenal. We went here over the President's Day weekend TWICE! I can't get over how friendly and intelligent they are here. Their wines have been praised by almost every wine critic, and they have the potential to be snobby, but they just AREN'T. They also have great deals from time-to-time.
My fiance and I have been to almost every winery in the Anderson Valley and this is our favorite!Listed in: My Neighborhood

Heyy! Breggo! "It's in there!"
Oh wait, that's Prego.
Cute little tasting room in the middle of nowhere. I'm a pinot hound and this one won my heart. The server was new at his job (oh to be young and just out of college pouring wine to tipsy tourists of the region) but informative and sincere.
It's not a huge estate, but family run and specialized, it's all about quality, not quantity these days. I enjoyed our tasting, the atmosphere is nice and welcoming and it's a great little place to stop and support some local growers!Listed in: Feeling like (Gillian)…

I can say without a doubt that Breggo is my favorite winery in the entire world. A couple of years ago we were camping in Mendocino, we wandered into town and into a wine shop to get a bottle of wine to have with our dinner. The woman told us to stop at Breggo on our way back to Oakland, and we are SOOO thankful we did.
It's been awhile, but I remember it was a hot sunny Sunday when we stopped in and met Doug. I remember liking all the wines we tasted and I think we bought a couple of bottles. A week or two after we got home I started looking around their website and decided to join the Breggo flock.
We get 6 bottles of wine every 6 months. And I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful all these wines are. We have never received a bottle whether it be pinot noir, guwerstraminer (terrible spelling I KNOW), pinto gris or rose, it is fabulous. The reds are my favorite, and I enjoy Breggo pinots because of the deep but not overly fruity tones. They go well with dinner or just sitting around.
We taken to giving bottles of Breggo as gifts to people and we've only received glorious thanks and compliments in return.
Breggo gets my highest recommendation for any wine lover. -

Small, family-run winery which specializes in high-end pinot. They do everything themselves from tending the vines to marketing the wines, but always have time to pour you a glass and give you a tour. Definitely the kind of growing-concern that deserves support!
It's also the first winery you come to when you drive into the Anderson Valley, so is a good place to set up base-camp!Listed in: Wine, Glorious Wine

If you're in Mendocino, you really must stop by their tasting room downtown. We had the most pleasant and informative tasting there where we discovered that they make some really fantastic wines. The Pinot Gris is nothing short of miraculous. I hate to agree with Mr. Parker, but it's one of the best I've ever tasted, too. I should have bought a whole case.
It seems that the "hands off" approach to wine-making is serving Breggo very well, as their wines are delicate, complex, and unique. Even if you're not a huge wine fanatic, you will find something here to love, take home, and savor. -

First off this review is for the auxiliary tasting room in downtown Mendocino although I assume (and hope) the experience of going to the mother ship is just as spectacular.
The setting (on the main street) is nice but nothing special. What they have is a great staff and some exceptional wines. Pinot Gris is my new ABC (anything but chardonnay) and this is just plain the best I have tasted. Full of vibrant fruit and spice but totally in balance and harmony. The Syrah is ripe with hints of blueberry and anise with the most amazing licorice notes in the bouquet. Each of the Pinot Noirs are unique and show a deft winemaking touch by bringing out the subtle characteristics of each vineyard.
The wines are not inexpensive ($20 to $75) but considering the quantities (4K cases) and the exceptional quality they are more than worth the price. 5 stars because I cannot give 6! -

I have had the pleasure of going to Breggo three times in the past 2 months.
The first time I purchased a bottle of Donnely Creek with the sole intention of a very nice dinner ($55 a bottle) Low and behold I had said dinner not a week later. OMG! I fell in love with this wine, the hint of smoke from the 2008 vintage, the rich deep flavor, the fruit. AHH! I could go one for days... This wine just invokes so many senses when paired correctly!
So with that being said I have been thinking about that wine for quite some time.
So I was planning a trip up to Ft. Bragg and decided I was joining the wine club! I stopped on the way up and Ross was in the tasting room, very nice little room well lit with big windows. Ross was very knowledgeable and friendly, we were able to discuss myriad of things during the tasting, not just wine. So I joined the wine club and had to get another bottle of Donnely creek for my pending dinner in Ft. Bragg (amazing with braised lamb btw!!!) I absolutely love the wine that is produced here and couldn't be happier with my decision.
On the way home I stopped again, this time to grab a bottle of Ferrington Vineyard Pinot for my dad, we were greeted by Kristy, she was very inviting and absolutely awesome!! Overall The staff in the tasting room were very awesome and I look forward to going again!!!! -

Fun tasting room - a little small, but good pinots to be had here. At this point, (going west to east) we didn't see too much new in another AV Pinot, but I'm sure it would have been a different story going east to west. The server was a little new, but a good host - it looks like the family is getting a little help, which suggests great things to come.

Cute little tasting room right off the highway. We were warmly greeted at the tasting bar and immediately poured a Pinot Gris. It was poured a little warm for a white (room temp) but it tasted pretty good regardless. We then progressed through a series of Pinot Noirs. You could taste the craftsmanship. At the $50 price-point, I needed to be blown away to buy. I was not and I left empty-handed.

Yes, wines are excellent, I took home some Pinot Gris which is superb! Pinot's outstanding. Must taste to appreciate. $5 charge offset by purchase. Staff friendly and helpful. Winemaker/owner was somewhat "gruff" but his wines make up for his disposition. I strongly recommend buying or tasting.

Good Alsace wines, we picked up two Pinot Gris (the limit) at $22 a piece. Doug, owner/wine maker, was friendly although a little distracted by the hectic day of prep for the Alsace fesitval. Their Pinot Noirs are steeply priced at around $55 per bottle. It's not totally different than most of the wineries around. I did enjoy the Ferrington Pinot the best. Doug and my husband got into a lengthy discussion about how much battery it would take to power a diesel tractor that he's trying to convert. So, yes, he's green people. Good place to check out when in Anderson Valley.

Wines are great, but tasting room attendant wasn't the friendliest (same experience as the 7/26 reviewer) but I don't believe they were a winemaker or owner as they poured us a wine that was corked. Other than that the wine made up for the tasting room experience, and I picked up a Pinot Gris to take home.

My husband and I traveled through all the California wine regions this past November, and our most pleasant discovery was Breggo Cellars! We love Pinot Noir, and were very pleased with the wines we tasted. We purchased several bottles for our collection and look forward to the opportunity to visit Breggo again!
