Had dinner at their restaurant but did not stay at the Inn. Had high hopes for the meal but left disappointed. The service was adequate. The poor waitress was the only person serving the entire restaurant. Started with chowder to see how they did it in this corner of the world. Verdict: not very good. Greatly appreciate the chowder I get in my New England home!

For the entree: broiled Alaskan halibut. The waitress recommended fried and we choose broiled. Big mistake. This beautiful piece of fish was dried out and was not terribly good. One of my dining partners had fish and chips (cod) that she reported as fabulous (her expereince pushed it to three from two stars). They have a great selection of Alaskan beer (lovely stuff).

After taking a gorgeous drive to Seward, perusing the Alaska Sealife Center, wouldnt you want something delish before heading home?

Well dont go here!

We tried to go to another restuarant on the marina, but they had a 30 minute wait for a table. So we dragged our 4 little kids down the street to this place.
Not only is the waitstaff daft, but their manners are lousy too. I ordered a salad, which they finally brought WITH my meal. My toddler was a screaming mess because he was hungry, so I guess we are even. The manager FINALLY bought his silence with some french fries after he chased the other customers away.

Overall, decent food, but I wont waste my time here again.

First off, let me say that the staff of this hotel is very, very kind.  We had one of the best rooms reserved, and let me say that it did NOT disappoint.  The jacuzzi tub, large shower, view of the mountains and water... it all conspired to make a wonderful babymoon for myself and my husband.  The king sized bed and pillows were super comfy, even with my husband hogging more than half the bed.

Sadly, they did lose a star with me.  The only ice machine we could find was on another floor and the fridge didn't work, plus... why is there no microwave?  That was a bit frustrating, especially after a day of hoofing it all over the darling little town.

I would go back and stay here in a heartbeat.  The diner wasn't exactly top of the line, but they served a great a breakfast, hot and tasty.  The waitress we had was very sweet, and for that last pee pee stop before heading out to our day, the bathrooms were fairly clean.

Yep, great place to stay in that tiny town.  Be sure to peruse the brochures they have available in the lobby.  Good stuff!

We had breakfast at the Breeze Inn.  There are not a lot of places to go for breakfast; unfortunately the Smoke Shack was packed.

I decided to eat here instead of Marina since I was craving eggs benedict which Marina did not offer.  We were sat within 15 minutes but it took about another 15-20 minutes before our server got to us.  Luckily for us, it took us less time for her to get to us than the other incoming customers in her section.  The other tables were waiting over 30 min. to order.

Our food finally arrived - not bad eggs benedict but a little on the greasy side - you can see the scattered puddles of oil/butter in the sauce.

The worst part was waiting for our bill....Did I mention how our server never checked on us during our meal, not even once?  As we waited for our bill, I watched as the other staff scampered around like chickens with their head cut off.  It looked like the hostess was trying to help out the busser (who was no where to be seen) clean tables and seat customers at the same time.  Maybe it was a rough day, but the hostess knocked a glass was water across the table next to us, spilling it into this guys lap.  And then when she was cleaning the table in front of us, she spilled a glass of hot (now cold) chocolate on the carpeted floor.

Our server finally came with the bill and my guest quickly handed her the credit card - she said nothing, didn't even ask us how we liked our meal.  And AGAIN, more waiting...There were tons of people waiting by the door for our table, but we were stuck waiting for the credit card to return.

We finally got the credit card back and lucky for us, were charged the right bill.  The table in front of us was charged for the wrong bill and had to wait even longer to get the bill fixed.

Next time, I'd rather wait an hour to eat at the Smoke Shack than eat here.
