Review from Mike P.
Broadview Heights, OH
Just got back from a 3-4 mile walk I did at the Brecksville Reservation. Low 80 degrees, good breeze and lots of sun made it perfect. The Hemlock Loop Trail, which is a dirt trail, starts at the parking lot by Chippewa Creek Road and Chippewa Road (State Route 82) in Brecksville (close to the Panera Bread), and winds it way through the woods and along the top of the ravine overlooking the creek.
Be sure to get a good view of the creek's waterfall, which is underneath the Chippewa Road bridge, while on the Hemlock Loop Trail. It's easy to see and you'll want to take pictures. During the Summer, the leaves on the tree make it harder to get this near perfect view.
The only downside are the muddy patches of the Hemlock Loop Trail. Those are not bad but I wouldn't recommend wearing shoes you don't want to get dirty.
The Hemlock trail has a wobbly but sturdy wooden bridge, which is cool! I believe this was built by a National Guard unit from Ohio.
I also walked the "All Purpose Trail" which is paved and scenic. This one has a nice bridge going over the creek and lots of inclines. Its paved, so cyclists, walkers and runners share the love. Also, the hardness of the pavement helped scuff off the now dried mud (which I got from the Hemlock trail) off my hiking shoes! :=PListed in: Fun on 21

Review from Dan R.
Huntersville, NC
One of the few redeeming qualities about NE Ohio in my opinion are the park systems. I spend about 3 days a week in this one in particular and have a real fondness for it. I've just begun to scratch the surface discovering all the different trails to run, but have not been let down yet.
Really, a great park. You have to work a little. This park won't entertain you, but will provide you the landscape to entertain yourself.
NOTE: no camping. -

Brecksville Reservation is a gorgeous metro park. It is partially located within the Cuyahoga Valley NP in Brecksville. The scenery is stunning. Chippewa Creek is the centerpiece, roaring through the northern part of the park. There are numerous trails running through the many hills and over several creeks. A few prairies and fields dot the reservation, as well as a handfull of picnic areas, and a beautiful public golf course owned by Cleveland Metroparks. Overall, if you need a taste of nature and don't want to go too far from Cleveland, pay a visit to the Brecksville Reservation. You'll feel like you're hours from Cleveland.
