Deanna Brolly is amazing. And I don't mean that in the generic way, I mean she is positive, nurturing, knowledgeable, fun, beautiful...I could go on...but she is also a wonderful yoga teacher.
Breathe SF moved to a new space on Van Ness, between Chestnut and Francisco. I LOVE this new space! This space is peaceful, private, and clean. Ideal for small group yoga.
Today was the day I started to love Yoga. Thanks to Deanna, I really "got it". Her Sport Yoga class on Fridays is going to be the answer to my tight muscles from all the other stuff I do.
Take it from a personal trainer...Deanna is good stuff! -

Amy Naber creates a beautiful blend of healing and enjoyment in her one-on-one yoga sessions and couples yoga sessions. She kicks the workout into high gear for personal training.
Amy's ability to work compassionately with her clients regardless of the challenges they may be overcoming is an amazing gift. -

Amy Naber, owner of Breathe SF, has a little gem of a yoga studio in the Marina! As one of her yoga teachers, it is the most peaceful, welcoming, quiet and friendly studio to teach in. I love teaching here! She offers yoga and pilates classes that appeal to everyone! Pregnant? Try Prenatal Class at 6pm on Thursdays! There is a class for everyone. Amy is an amazing, intuitive and nurturing soul. I love to be around her! I would recommend anyone wanting to begin a yoga practice to anyone looking for a peaceful, mindful, studio offering a variety of classes with a friendly environment to try Breathe SF!

I've been doing yoga with Amy and pilates with Allison for two months--and the experience has been simply transformative.
I came in from a PT's office, wanting to get back to running and not wanting to spend a fortune of any sort on PT. I'm not the type to do the prescribed exercises at home, especially since these exercises magically ensured that my lower back sounded just like a car as it throttles through gravel.
So for about the cost of one session with the PT, I get unlimited classes at this place. Now, my back is all better, but I am still quite happily here. The classes are small (at times in the morning, it's just you and the Yogi or Pilates-master). And these classes are best together: Pilates for the core, yoga for the stretchy. Try this out: a few days a week of pilates, a few days a week of yoga. And boom . . . . Are those abs I see? Very nice.
Amy, Allison, and those you'll meet in your classes are all good people. On top of all the rampant friendliness, you're going to be real proud of yourself. Amy and Allison will help you take your poses and reps to the next level without straining you. They're extremely responsive and will ensure that you maximize your hour together, or as in my case, many hours. This place is simply a gem. -

I have tried many (or most) yoga studios here in San Francisco and I really find Amy's classes at Yoga on Union to be awesome. The studio is small and intimate (so if you like those crowded classes with 100 people crammed in a small space...this may not be the place for you).
Amy's classes are great for beginners OR advanced students. -

Upon my first consultation and visit with Allison Erickson, I was brand new to the world of Pilate's, and admittedly, was nervous. I in my late twenties had never stepped foot in a studio and remember the calmness and peace that "Breathe on Union" exuded. Allison's patience, sincerity, motivation and knowledge has kept me coming back for months and if you're like me (a newbie), I encourage you to to begin your Pilate's experience here. As an avid "gym goer", I have had some of my best workouts all while increasing my flexibility, stamina and endurance. This has allowed me to see greater gains in the gym and have noticed increased muscle development. I would recommend Pilate's, Allison and the "Breath Studio" to ANYONE!

I was looking for a yoga studio in Marina/Cow Hollow area when I stumbled upon Breathe Yoga on Union. I was very picky because I have had many bad experiences before. You name it- intimidating teachers, dirty space, overly crowded class, and so on.
Amy Naber and her studio is exactly what I was looking for. It took me a while until I decided to write this review because I consider this place a hidden gem.
Pro:
1. Amy is very accommodating and she spends time to understand your condition/needs and tailors the practice to make it best for you. I don't know how but she even manages to do that in a bigger class, not just during the private session.
2. The studio is nice, clean and serene. It's not a huge space so you have 8-10 people max each class. Perfect!
3. Friendly class goes :) You won't feel intimidated or feel like you have to compete with the person on the mat next to you
4. They offer good variety of classes: Vinyasa flow, Hatha flow, Sport Yoga, Restorative Yoga and even Pilates
Con:
Nothing really... I only wish they offer more and more classes :) -

Okay, so there are like 17 yoga studios on Union St. and none of them have appealed to me... until now. I was one of those exercise freaks at one time in my life, doing triathlons, working with a personal trainer, and counting every calorie burned and consumed. Then I obsessed about pilates. And now... well, walking is a much exercise as this 38-year-old body gets, and that's not much. So, I've been telling all my friends that I want to do yoga, as everyone else seems to LOVE it... but I'm not flexible, thin or willing to sweat so I've been putting it off. Enter Amy and her comforting little studio on Union, just a few blocks from my house and past a few other yoga options. She stresses a relaxing experience and her nature is exactly that: relaxing. She took me through a non-intimidating series of poses and focused on the breath (a concept I never understood until her direction). Sure, I broke a sweat and was challenged. But, I'll go back because I just know she'll work with me, my fears and my challenges. I don't feel judged at all and especially don't feel unable to do yoga. I'm actually looking forward to our next session!

Great yoga studio! My gf dragged me here about 6 months ago and even though I liked it from the start I was skeptical how long I will continue going. Well, 6 months later and I still go twice a week and getting more into it with every practice. My flexibility has increased a lot - wasn't able to touch my toes and now I can almost put my palms on the ground. Flexibility has improved all around and yoga has really help my knees, ankles and shoulders recover much faster after a basketball game. I am able to play 3 times a week with no major soreness. Amy is really good, very aware of everyone's level and tailors practices accordingly. The restorative session on Sundays at 3:30 is my favorite - very good to relieve work- and sports-related stress, calm and clear the mind.

After having experienced many different yoga studios and teachers in the city, I can happily say that I have found my home at Breathe. The intimate setting, the wonderful teachers, and challenging Hatha and Vinyasa practices are a perfect combination for a busy mom who wants to get a workout and a "time-out" all-in-one! I can't say enough good things about Breathe!
